Description of your Claim: Venyenoi Station is a Ivorian Mother-craft dispatched into the Liu Xiu Economic Zone as a trading hub and major diplomatic centre. As a full hab-ship, Venyenoi will offer a wide range of services for the local population of Ivorians and for others in the system, including: full-spectrum medical care; primary, secondary, and tritiary education; starcraft repair; commercial support including communications and banking, and more.

Like most exclaves of the Federation, Venyenoi is classed as a scientific mission, in this case as a sociological monitoring station. As such, it was also commissioned as a consular station, and houses an Embassy.

Description of your Claim: The Zwischenstation Service Institute (ZSI) is a large arcology administered by the Naechtlich Commonwealth, on behalf of the 'Zwischenstation Group'. The Zwischenstation Group is a legal entity that represents a small permanent bureaucracy, serving in the interest of a dynamic number of Unions situated in the Commonwealth's sovereign territory. The ZSI's main function is to coordinate the economic activities of the Naechtlich Commonwealth in Liu Xiu. However, it also devotes considerable resources to research, which is used to fund the activities of the ZSI.

ZSI research covers two main areas of study - agricultural science, and anatomy. Regarding agricultural science, the ZSI is active in genetic modification and the development of tools for agriculture, manufacturing them on a relatively small scale for sale on Taen. The funds from. Regarding anatomy, the ZSI runs small-scale medical and funerary services for Taen inhabitants, subsidizing treatment in exchange for retaining bodily samples for research that can be sold back to the Commonwealth.

The ZSI maintains two Forscher-Klasse spacefaring vessels, comparable to a large corvette, mainly used for transportation and observation roles. The Forscher-Klasse does not have external-facing armaments, but uses extensive shielding for defense and military-grade security systems to observe and detain trespassers within the vessel. They utilize modular cargo bays, which can be used as empty space cargo, to carry seating, or a controlled cooling space for transporting delicate biological material.

Description of your Claim: Wiisor is essentially a large disc that is nearly a half a kilometer in diameter and roughly two hundred meters "thick" with each level being approximately ten meters in height. On one side there is a small docking port for shuttles as well as a maintenance and repair dock for smaller ships as well as the being the storage point for the two light defense gunships.
The bottom level of station is primarily the living quarters of the staff and representatives from the Consortium.
The next level is the luxury suites for VIP representatives as well as guests of Wiisnor station.
The third and forth levels are food and supply shops along with recreational activities for those residing on the station. Along with a state of the art neutral facility.
The next two levels are dedicated to displaying Consortium goods and trade organizations as well as offices and conference rooms for business deals that are conducted on Wiisor station.
The next seven levels are primarily the heart of the station where the ship maintenance docks are connected to along with housing the station's power plant and other systems that run the station.
The final two levels are dedicated solely towards diplomacy as well as being a point for official documentation for Avan citizens abroad.

Rather than being directly endorsed by the massive government it started as, and remains, a private venture. A group of non-landed financial elites are responsible for the founding and upkeep of the Enclave known as Nirvana. Known simply as 'The Board' the founding fathers represented the best, brightest and richest of Tocrowkian society, common men and women that rose built their fortunes over the course of their lives rather than simply inheriting it like the Reich's nobility class. With stakes and expertise in all fields stretching from private military companies, medical technology, cybernetics and transportation The Board has created for it self what can be best described as a hyper-capitalist, libertarian paradise.

Prior to the acquisition of the Liu Xiu system by the Imperial Star Republic, Glacier View was a moderately well-developed settlement on Jiwao, housing roughly six hundred souls. Located a substantial distance from Piraeus City, Glacier View was a rural community, with its main industry being agriculture. After the system changed hands, much of the population, like many expatriates on Jiwao, left; leaving behind a barely-populated farming village. Prior to the arrival of Imperial Star Republic authority in the system, the Tí̱msátta had been drawn to the system, as with most other peoples present in Liu Xiu, by economic prospects, and so there existed a substantial Tí̱msátthan presence in the system prior to the change in governance (In the form of a handful of Parkímeni, or sedentary Tí̱msátta, and relatively consistent number of independent fleet elements present in the system for trade.)

However with changing times in Liu Xiu came changing opportunities for business; newly vacated properties, trade posts and security contracts, amongst many other lucrative options. The Tí̱msátta, loathe to abandon such opportunities, took an increased interest in Liu Xiu. When a substantial number of the existing Parkímeni on Jiwao attempted to consolidate their position by creating a permanent base of supply and operations in the system for independent fleet elements, the Kósmi̱tikó (The highest arena of governance in Tí̱msátthan society) itself sanctioned and backed the negotiations between the Parkímeni, who aimed to establish an official Tí̱msátthan enclave and the local administration at Graywinter. Of course, those Tí̱msátta that intended to set up shop in Glacier View were already in the process of moving in prior to official negotiations being opened; the position of the village, a reasonable enough drive away from Piraeus City to be safe from prying eyes, but also close enough to benefit from proximity to orbital infrastructure access, made it an appealing choice for the Tí̱msátta. After a period of negotiation, the Tí̱msátta negotiators were able to coax the local government into recognizing Glacier View as an official enclave of the Tí̱msátthan nation.

Renamed Parókor, the town became a base of operations for Tí̱msátthan operations throughout the system. Formerly devoted to agriculture, the town soon boasted a small landing pad and fuelling station and much of its existing architecture had been refitted for accommodation and storage. Although the town still has not recovered to its former size, and almost all remaining non- Tí̱msátthan residents have since left, it has become an indispensable component of Tí̱msátthan operations in the sector, offering an area for repairs, storage and refuelling for independent fleet elements. The flow of business through the town in one form or another has ensured that despite having lost many of its former occupants, Parókor has if anything become a more vibrant settlement, albeit insular. Officially, all of the business in Parókor is legal, and in the interests of appeasing the local government the locals generally avoid obviously facilitating contracted killings, the movement of illegal wares, or other questionable activities, however the town is not without its share of dangerous men. Being in a system as key as Liu Xiu, Parókor plays occasional host to the Kahroniápolls; the highest agents of the Kósmi̱tikó. Although their infrequent presence is shrouded, as dealings with the Kahroniátheí often are, in secrecy, the Kahroniápoll presence in the village has been occasional cause for concern and scrutiny, of course their presence continues to be explained in terms of the collection of high-profile Tí̱miro payments (As the Kahroniápolls, contrary to their reputation, are far more than mere hitmen for the Kósmi̱tikó; they also present themselves to ensure that certain contracts, agreements and payments are upheld honourably.)

Lacking grander designs for the Liu Xiu system, the Tí̱msátta are seemingly content to do in one system now as they have done in many for hundreds of years, to do business, and remain agents of economy, but not conquest in galactic society.

Description of your Claim: Located close to the former Republic holding of Piraeus City, the Legation is a combination of both an embassy and something of a sorting house for valuable news and information that the Republic's leaders may be interested in. Within its walls are held habitation units, entertainment complexes, and office blocks. Foreign citizens wishing to travel to the Republic's own territory often travel to the legation to acquire the necessary permits and visas.

For members of the Republic's Central Intelligence Directorate, it is better known as 'The Bastion', and agents can often be found passing through or stopping by on missions that take them into the heart of the system's commerce industry. Because of this, two Ranger-class vessels are stationed nearby, with one of these often being one of the modified Moirai-class for the benefit of organised operations involving one of CID's 'Chalkapis' units.

Hello all. It's been a really great few months seeing Liu Xiu grow as it has and I'm just really happy with how it is panning out. However, it has been a couple months and as such, is time for the first truly major thread maintenance update. There have been a few tweaks to the OP posts, largely in the FAQ area concerning Liu Xiu's 'sandbox' nature, mainly to clarify that Liu Xiu is open for pretty much everyone in the Future Tech community to do stuff in (so long as you adhere to the In-Character and Out of Character rules), and that the application process is only for people who want to own property within the star system.

The first big change is that nearly everyone (save for Huerdae whose Outpost application was somehow lost), everyone's Enclave and Outpost listings have been changed to links to the original application. This was done largely to save space in the main Enclave/Outpost post, but it also eases the administrative hassle for me AND allows all members to edit and update their own stuff on their own time and accord, without needing me around to update the main listing. For right now, we seem to be doing good on space again in that post, but I might change it again after another short period of time, depending on if we keep this level of applications coming in.

Another change is that several entries were removed because they were listed for people who have no been active in the Future Tech community, be it here on the forums or on the primary Future Tech IRC channel, #NSLegion. If your entry was removed and you want to have it re-added, I will need to speak with you on IRC about it.

One last change, and this is another big one. Due to the space constraints, I am, for the foreseeable future limiting Outpost claims to ONE per nation. This may change back to the original 'three Outposts per nation' rule following more thread updates, but for now, one per nation, please.

One last thing, there are plans in the works for future interactivity between Enclave/Outpost owners in Liu Xiu. Expect more information on this new section of the Liu Xiu project early next month.

That sums up our first major thread update. Please keep up all the great work everyone has been doing, and make sure to keep an eye on this thread for future updates!

On Taen, at each entrance to Crashtown, stands a hand-painted sign with the four laws of Crashtown: "No Murderin’," "No Rapin’," "No Theivin’" and "No Slavin’." The latter usually appears painted on more recently than the others.

The society of the small settlement is notoriously lax on other issues, and with its community diverse enough that it can agree on no other laws. Although it is less than a year old, no one knows who the original settlers, the tight-lipped guild, were, and it is widely suspected they were originally mutineers from some minor government. What is known is that the area is built around The Ship, a warship of unknown origins; five hundred and sixty meters long, the vessel appears almost perfectly, and mysteriously, landed on the planet, The entire structure is long, built around a pair of massive drive pods, and banks of forward facing torpedo weapons, and study, powerful turreted weapons of which only the dorsal examples survive.

The term around the ship is quite literal; crashtown is a dive by any standard, with a number of crude and often malfunctioning habitats built directly onto the ship, taking advantage of its large and seemingly reliable air processing systems.

The Ship provides atmospheric, water and power systems for both the inhabitants of crashtown and its score or so of domefarms, its dismantled carcass allowing Crashtown’s residents to have established their colony at relatively low costs, and thus giving them the opportunity to expand relatively quickly.

This does not come free, however, and the secretive Guild, officially the Ship’s Company, charges for access to its resources, keeping the majority of the population dependant on their monopoly on essential services; Crashtown is an easy place to move to, but a hard place to earn a living thanks to the Guild, who are widely claimed to be the original crew of The Ship and who assert that they have the means to control it fully, though more typically they will merely stop the resources to any individuals who fail to pay their service fees. The Guild maintains a standing force of almost three hundred ‘prods’ armed with less-lethal weapons that serve as a police force for the settlement, but for the most part the Guild restrict their interests to acquiring fees and making sure to turn an appropriately blind eye to the more capable residents’ activities.

The most important thing the Guild do, for the residents, at least, is maintain early warning systems and some of the Ship’s original munitions; while unable to harm a warship, such systems are hoped by many to deter any casual attempt to search the settlement by official forces. They occasionally claim contrarywise, but the ship's last missile was fired some years ago, and the ship's last turreted weapons have ceased to function.

Foremost among those are information brokers, most particularly the firm Cala and Sons, who occupy the ship’s communications system, and use its originally sophisticated (and inventively maintained) communications and electronic warfare suites to transact their business securely.

They directly support and are the major interest for a number of privateers, bounty hunters and pirate factions that purchase information in Crashtown, and likewise make trades of their goods and services; and of course, where they go, services to match also exist, from gunsmiths to deposit companies, a number of commercial ventures that straddle the line between business and gang dominate much of the downtown life of Crashtown. More respectable fringe businesses operate here too, low-cost xenoarcheologists and explorer parties can often fill up their numbers from talented spacers with a mark on their record that keep them from more respectable haunts at Crashtown, and almost anything can be found despite the settlement’s small size.

Naturally not everyone has the interest or will to be involved in such activities, and the majority of the population not involved in the fringe economy or the service industries that cater for it are instead employed in the twin trades of agriculture and brewing, with ales and space rations leading the export potential of Crashtown. These businesses are booming, and recent waves of refugees from the Gamma Quadrant’s recent chequered past have boosted Crashtown from a mere pirate’s den into a small boom town that feels every bit the frontier town; there are few riches in Crashtown, but there are opportunities nonetheless.

Suggestions for using Crashtown:

Need somewhere for a renegade to lie low, or a pirate ship to take on supplies? Crashtown’s your place; government agencies can raid it on foot and with smallarms, so long as they don’t shoot up the place too much, but please contact me before blasting it off the map. The locals don’t stop governmental agencies making arrests though (for all their bluster) and it’s entirely possible to chase a suspect through the streets with minimal official interference.

Description of your Claim: Cear Sidydd a single city ship in orbit of Lagrange Point 7 measures roughly 20 km in diameter and 18 km at the height of its central spire.

In design it most strongly resembles a bronze lotus blossom from a distance, with many piers blooming from the central hub of the city curling up to form a shallow bowl filled with great towers.

This city is designed to be able to provide birth to ships of almost any design and size with larger ships being provided priority for docking at the central city. While airlocks and shielding permeability have designed to allow primarily for ships of Kreanotlhan design it would be easy for them to be modified on the fly for ships of almost any design to dock with the city with ease.

Two demilitarized picket frigates refitted to compliance with the LXMAC provide defense for this investment.


The application is written in a very IC nature and thus the section at the end is included mostly as the various corporations attempting to test how far they can push things while still remaining technically in line. Any requests to shrink the defensive compliment will be adhered to and I fully expect that they'll only have at most two ships of displacement no greater than that of a demilitarized destroyer class upon entering the SEZ.

Description of your Claim; Kahzibar Orbital Centre is a Bernal Sphere type space habitat serving as the Combines outpost in Liu Xiu, for purposes of trade, diplomacy and research. The central habitation sphere is 800 meters in diameter, and can accommodate a population of up to 30,000. The central part of the sphere, with the highest gravity, is used primarily for accommodation, while the the lower gravity areas on the sides are mainly used for trad and embassies, as well as tech and culture expos. Power is acquired via a mix of fusion and solar, while external agricultural modules are used to grow food.

Onsite spacecraft consist of a Solar class exploratory spacecraft(equipped with a light laser for defense), 100 Skywraith SSTO shuttles, and a number of automated asteroid mining craft, which provide resources in conjunction with 3D printers.

Blue Island is a sixth generation Island Class colony construct. A massive thirty-two kilometers long. Constructed as part of a line of similar constructs and held in reserve for future population expansion of the Technocracy. Armed with six beam arrays for the purpose of debris interception, it's heavier defensive armaments having been stripped to comply with Liu Xiu Economic Zone Regulations.

The Bow of the cylinder is primarily dominated by a blocky docking array, built out around a central access hangar nearly a kilometer tall and almost six kilometers wide. Blue Island Docking Control smoothly coordinates the traffic to and from the station through the docking array, the only point of access for the station. The entire docking array rotates independently from the rest of the cylinder for ease of use. Cargo and personnel have access through a number of routes, all of which leading to a transfer hub that rises from the inner wall of the cylinder end as a half kilometer tall three sided pyramid. Rising from it's point and running through the center of the cylinder, a transfer spire for goods and personnel. Each face of the pyramid connected to the land strips below by a series of elevator tubes moving people and goods like clockwork. The stern is occupied primarily by the power systems as well as Blue Island's Operation Command. The administrative heart of station operation. Concentric rings of farming and hazardous materials processing facilities frame the three massive articulated mirror panels which reflect sunlight into the colony.

The internal layout of Blue Island consists of three strips of land, each roughly thirty kilometers long. Rivers and streams snake along the landscape with sunlight streaming in through the three water covered glass strips separating each stretch of land. Each end of the cylinder is dominated by metropolitan spreads. Markets and business districts, connected by bridgeworks along the bow and aft walls. Further towards the center of each strip, the landscape turns into forests and meadows with gentle hills and natural earthen bridges over a network of rivers circulating warm fresh water. The entire cylinder in a perpetual spring, the climate carefully controlled with regular rainfall periods. A thirty six hour day is divided by an eighteen hour day/night cycle. Automated hover-cars and trams ensure ease of transportation within the colony for the hundred thousand residents. The colony has a maximum sustainable capacity of roughly two and a half million.

Each strip is designated by number, with city sectors being either Bow, or Aft. Strip One is primarily dedicated to Industrial production. Strip Two is occupied primarily with light industry, such as food catering and fine arts establishments. Strip Three is dedicated to recreation and housing. The central bulk of each strip is occupied by natural landscape, dotted with small residences and resorts. Transport between strips is achieved primarily by a tramway along each end wall, with hover-cars able to transit freely along the inner surface. Additionally, a number of small ferries make regular trips between each land strip. Some even catering small cruise tours around the colony.

Sector 1-B handles fabrication and assembly of all manner of goods ranging between personal recreation vehicles to trinkets. The dense industrial city stretching a three kilometers away from the Bow wall.

Sector 1-A is primarily maintenance and repair infrastructure, as well as to a lesser extent raw material production. Stretching just under two kilometers from the Aft wall.

Sector 2-B Operates a large array of restaurants in addition to art galleries, cultural museums, concert halls, and shopping centers. The bustling city reaching just over four kilometers from the Bow wall.

Sector 2-A Handles food production and processing for the rest of the colony. Receiving food at regular cycles from a ring of agricultural pods to ensure a constant flow of fresh food for market. The city sector stretching almost four kilometers from the Aft wall.

Sector 3-B Large hotel complexes dominate this city sector, stretching approximately three kilometers from the Bow wall. The edges of which are occupied by themed resorts.

Sector 3-A Primary housing for the residents of Blue Island, this suburban sprawl stretches some five kilometers out from the Aft wall. A hand full of entertainment centers are located here, though most are operated for local residents.

Description of your Claim
The TOP Zindar is a part of a series of towed platforms (called the XV101 Portable Station Vessel Series) designed to serve as a versatile orbital statiosn that can rest in the upper atmosphere or in orbit. Stations exist for multiple functions, but the Zindar was constructed as a diplomatic platform to represent the Tetheri in the Liu Xiu Special Economic Zone. Stations can be constructed in innumerable configurations but the Zindar contains facilities to host personnel in relative comfort in middle to lower orbit around a world. A series of carefully calibrated mass generators keep the station in place and it has a self contained atmospheric system it simulates by harvesting gasses out of the planetary atmosphere of its host. Like all members of the XV101 family, the Zindar is able to tow itself to its own destination by deploying fifteen heavy towing craft that it carries on board. The automated system can be operated from the station itself and is capable of faster than light travel by using the tugs to tow itself through the rift.

The Zindar differs from her sister platforms in that she has no defensive weaponry at all apart from small arms provided for the security personnel on board. All craft on board are entirely unarmed with the exception of the TNS Cevera, a small gunboat armed with two light gaser turrets for enforcement. This was included for the sole purpose of enforcing docking code on incoming freighters. Her role was to be fully diplomatic and rely on local security fleets to enforce peace in the area. The platform itself covers a span of five kilometers and consists of four primary levels. The top level rests under a large dome made of resilient, completely transparent clertium, an incredibly dense substance mined in Tetheran that is completely transparent once refined. The primary purpose of this level is to utilize hydroponics to grow food staples that the station can store for emergencies and general use. A full cultivated garden as well as an internal resort facility for use by the crew (for free) and visitors (for a fee) as well as artificial sunlight generation makes this layer a pristine area for long serving crewmen to relax. The clertium dome can also be darkened entirely and blended into the artificial sunlight to amplify it.

The second layer comprises of offices, consulates, and other professional businesses and services such as general commodity shopping. The station has developed a thriving economy by inviting industries big and small from the planet below to populate a "mall" with many types of stores to sell goods to visitors and crew alike. All sorts of services are provided and funding is generated for the station via the rental fees that shop owners pay on a monthly basis to operate. The primary offices of the Tetheri ambassador and the merchant representative of the Guild of Galactic Ventures reside on this layer. Diplomatic quarters and apartments for the more wealthy station employees occupy significant space. Though space is tight on the station in general, these apartments are spacious and luxurious but costly to rent monthly. Rental money from tenets goes back into the station. A fully operating branch of the Rendali Banking Clan serves the station for currency conversion and allowing citizens access to assets at home. Directly next to the bank sits the armory and the primary security officer barracks.

Level three of the facility contains the lower class housing blocks for all of the other workers as well as temporary living quarters for visitors who are incapable of affording rooms at the resort. The vast majority of the station crew reside here in small, sparsely furnished housing blocks that are valued based on how close they are to the departure and arrival terminals that reside in the level below. This level has a detachment of police droids which patrol the sector and handle minor disturbances. Security personnel can be called to quickly descend one of the many lift tubes if necessary. The primary medical bay is also located here, though a smaller medical bay exists on each level. The bay is capable of performing minor surgeries and keeping crew in good health. A fully trained medical staff is always on hand to provide preventative and emergency care. A small launch bay for an emergency medical shuttle to move severely wounded patients to a more capable facility on the planet rounds out the contents of level two.

The final level, or level one, contains a fully equipped docking facility with two dozen docking bays of various sizes. For ships too large to land in a bay, sixteen retractable docking tubes allow for any size freighter to offload supplies and passengers onto the Zindar. Most bays are for smaller shuttle craft carrying dignitaries and visitors. A full use maintenance dock can hold up to ten small and five medium craft for long periods of time, allowing for diplomatic shuttles to be interred at the station for quick use. Four additional small private bays for the ambassador and a few other officials are also located down below on the protrusion sticking off of the belly of the facility. Twelve of the primary docking bays are for general use while the remaining twelve are for those with the proper funds to rent for a long term stay. These contain lifts that bypass the second level entirely and head straight to levels three and four. A full customs facility with security personnel allows for the station to keep on top of what's coming and going as well as isolate dangerous elements that could compromise station health and security.

Currently, the Zindar allows no one on board to carry weapons with the exception of authorized parties. The station is considered a sovereign diplomatic enclave of Tetheran and carries her laws.

Hello again all!

This was supposed to wait until the next major thread update next month, but I ended up getting around to it far sooner than I thought I would. If you look at the Enclave & Outpost Listing, you'll notice that it is drastically different than what we had before. In another effort to save space, I've once again shrunk the space required by each Enclave and Outpost description, and re-listed them all under what part of the Liu Xiu system that inhabit. Enclaves and Outposts on Jiwao, for example, are now listed under the spoiler tab listed as Jiwao is the Enclave and Outpost sections.

This does, unfortunately, remove the 'Owner' portion for easy identification here in this thread, but it is my hope that this will, in partnership with linking directly to your original applications, cause readers to look at the players who have written these amazing descriptions and if interested, actually contact you via telegram or seek you out on IRC. On this note, I would like to remind everyone that because your Enclave and Outposts link directly to your applications, you now have the freedom to update them whenever you please.

That is it for this update. I do not plan for another large update to the thread until I am ready to reveal the next addition to the Liu Xiu project, which should be sometime in May.
