"Citizen of Saratoga and people of Yukon,

These last few weeks have been very emotional for all here. From the joys of finding this planet to discovering the unforseen concequences in which we discovered on this planet we are home at last. I would first like to send my condolences to the people of Tyvenia. They are going through hardships we havent seen in many decades. Secondly, I would also like to send my condolences to the people and government of New Toola. May Chief Elder Simmons rest in peace.

The plague that has quickly recked havoc among the people of Tyvenia. This outbreak has the potential to cause some serious damage to the Tyvenian people. This must be stopped! After some negotiations with Ajerrin we are proud to annouce the deployment the Coalition-Federation Red Cross to Tyvenia with an initial operation budget of around $kr 500 Million to properly dispose of bodies as well as to set up a research base to study this plague and attempt to discover a cure. The healthworks being sent to the Tyvenia are porfessionals who will use the upmost safety to avoid spreading the plague to others. Other nations are invited to join the CFRC with this unifed research team. We will find a cure and we will help Tyvenia get back on its feet. Just to avoid this plague from spreading to Saratoga I will be ordering extreme caution to all boarder control to exercise intense plague screening on all immigrates who try to Saratoga.

Lastly, We are devestated by the loss of Chief Elder Simmons. We will be sending an delegation to the funeral to pay our respects to Simmons. This delegation will be made up of some staff, as well as the Kaiser-Queen and Me. The people of Saratoga will be joining the people of New Toola in a moment of silence during the funeral.

We wish the best for the people of New Toola and Tyvenia. Saratoga will be here for you not matter what. "

Prime Minister Strobel is handed a phone and is followed out of the room by a cloud of staffers.

Tyvenia Concluded.

Postby Tyvenia » Tue Jan 27, 2015 4:04 pm

Even though he knew Speaker Bright didn’t expect an answer Elijah finally responded, “Because it is the only thing we can do. It’s a new start. What would you do?”

Bright’s reputation for constancy in his counsel was well-respected within the Tyvenian hierarchy –former hierarchy – it was a bitter, involuntary thought for a lifelong patriot. Elijah knew it was unfair to expect any leader to know.

“I wish I could give you an answer... any answer.”

Insightful, Elijah was glad that the Speaker wasn’t able to hear the unassailable bitterness.

Bright continued, “Whatever you and your people decide to do, there’s no rush for you to leave us. Caisus is a big place, and we’ve barely settled it. We have worked to set aside a chunk of our land for your people.”

“We will be forever indebted to Caisus for that.”

“And, the Errin family has invited your surviving scientists to Ajerri universities, and of course any of your scholars are welcome to resume their research at ours also.”

“Good, we’ll need to keep them busy while the rest of us are being constructive,” Elijah meant to deliver it as a joke, but no humor followed the sourness came through. He tried to recover, “There’s no reason for our research levels to suffer. I’m sure our academics will have much to share with both you and Ajerrin.”

“Well, I’ll let you get some rest, Elijah. My team says it is close to a breakthrough on what happened to your people, and apparently have a solution to the core problem.”

“Really? What is the cause?”

“I’m not sure, but apparently it is tragically simple.”

“My office is ready to send out your news release. Should I have them send it out?”

“Yes… it is time to put Tyvenia to rest so that Desolaas can rebuild.”

Desolaas Reborn

Postby Desolaas » Tue Jan 27, 2015 4:07 pm

By Order of the Desolaas Emergency Council: Be it known, and so ordered, that in remembrance of the one-point-five billion Desolaan-Tyvenians who perished as we reached this new home, Tyvenia is no longer. One thousand of us survive, soon we shall be billions more. We shall rebuild our nation by looking to the greatness of our past, and we shall reforge our identities by looking to the future.

Tyvenia has been purged, and in its place Desolaas is reborn.

Excerpt from Journeys Through Arcadia, A Narrative of the Empire by Archon Irylyn Malvos

The Silent Audience
A great deal of government process in the Arcadian Empire was protocol, since her ascension more than 90 years ago the Empress Eternal, Ai Li-Hua had cultivated a system of strict tradition and protocol surrounding her government and indeed surrounding herself. Few were ever allowed within her presence, only those who had ascended to the height of power through the vast system of intrigue and politics referred to as the Kratocracy to the rank of Archon could lay eyes upon the Empress in person and then only at a distance. The only ones allowed within ten paces were the enigmatic Sisters of Mercy who protected her, the Canoness Zherucken, the Master Fabricator Theoclesian and the Arch-Thaumaturge Bazhurok - the trouble was that they seemed to have as few direct personal interactions with anyone outside that circle as anyone had direct contact with the Empress. Thus the government of the Empire was built upon layers of mystery, secrets, lies and intrigue which ran deep. One of the chief reasons why the Kratocracy was so successful was this very fact - once one entered it there was no longer any way of telling what was true and what was fiction, the unprepared lost all sense of reality and soon fell prey to those better equipped for it. Of course that was the greatest strength, the system discouraged timidity and weeded out weakness in all its forms.

The Grand-Archon Andreu Zutyensin, the great grandson of the celebrated President of the former Commonwealth Nataliya Zutyensin, was the nominal Head of Government. He was the most senior Archon and had risen to his position through a combination of cunning, betrayal, intellect and the precise application of brute force; though they might whisper and plot behind his back no other Archon dared to question him publicly, nor dare they refuse an order given unless so instructed by the Empress or her Circle. If the Empire was one massive spider's web, then he was sat right near the middle, and yet for all his power to manipulate the web and the other spiders on it he still had no authority beside that which was held over him by the Matriarch at the centre. Everything flowed through the Empress. The problem was that even he, the great Andreu Zutyensin, who for the past decade had held the post of Grand-Archon and ruled the Empire on Her behalf, had never come within those sacred ten paces. He could not say that he had spoken with the Empress, nor that he had her blessing, because he had never so much as communicated with her. Any Imperial Orders came to him second hand, from some agent or other, or very occasionally from one of the Sisters, but never directly. He had of course spoken in the Empress' presence and, he hoped, had his voice heard by her - it was after all said that the whole point of the Kratocracy was to bring the best and brightest of the Empire within earshot of the woman who ultimately control all of their lives.

That was where he stood right now, in the centre of the Basilica in the great audience chamber where the Empress sat, ever present, yet never moving or speaking. No-one sat in the Empress' presence, not even the Grand-Archon. The chamber itself was a strange place, full of darkness and strange arcane technologies beyond anything seen outside, and this was saying something for the Basilica itself was a marvel of technology, a structure built so that seemingly every inch, every surface, every wall, floor and ceiling served some other purpose. There were no mere barrier or corridors within the Basilica, everything was laced with something else. The walls were made from a strange dark alloy which reflected light strangely, at times as bright and clear as a mirror, at others sucking it in with ravenous hunger; but it wasn't just the material that made the unusual, every inch was engraved and marked with intricate patterns, like some sort of strange circuit board etched in brightest turquoise and jade. Bright energies flashed from the broadest of these carved channels constantly, giving off the sort of mercurial glow that some flowing luminous liquid might. It was clear these were indeed a means of transferring something, be it data or energy, for they ran into the many devices which were built into the structure, feeding them constantly - screens, computers, holo-displays and thousands of other less consequential machines all operated on this intricate network. Here in the audience chamber every broad channel of light ran to the dais at its heart, upon which rested the bizarre throne upon which the Empress sat immobile, tiny wires, so thin they could not be seen by the naked eye at the mandatory ten paces, ran into the back of the Empress' head, like long overgrown hair which had found a use for itself among the mechanisms of this place.

In terms of layout the chamber was large, perhaps one hundred meters in diameter and circular; the ceiling rose into the darkness above, down from which ran silken hangings, banners and tapestries representing the greatest moments in the history of the entire Arcadian civilisation. One quarter of the room's perimeter wall was open, a series of equidistant columns with a flickering energy field between them all that separated the chamber from the space outside the building - a beautiful view if ever on had the time to look, of the great capital - the throne had its back to this however, so that the soft artificial glow which rose from the city mingled with the myriad energies diffused from the throne to form a corona of dancing colours, like some localised aurora borealis reaching out from unseen pinions at her back. The message given by all of this was clear, this was the center of Arcadian history, at this moment all that was and all the is Arcadian flows through this room; there is nothing from Arcadia's deepest history to the furthest reaches of its influence today which is beyond the reach of the woman sitting in that chair.

In all the time he stood there in silence the Grand-Archon never looked away from Her, even though ten paces and two dozen Sisters one could tell that his eyes never left her. Beneath the curtain of white gold hair it was impossible to discern the focus of the Empress' gaze, however an overpowering feeling of being watched hung over every person in that room, as though by sheer force of will and purity of power She was able to set a gaze upon that room's every occupant so heavy and piercing as to sear one's soul. As the most senior and longest serving of the Archons in the chamber Zutyensin appeared undaunted, perhaps even used to this peculiar feeling; he maintained his own gaze which was soft and deferential, yet bright with intellect - it was clear that at this very moment his mind was working on machinations beyond the comprehension of even one third of those brightest minds assembled in that room. Even so it could be accurately wagered that the Empress knew, or at the very least accurately surmised the thoughts of every man and woman present. This was a ceremony repeated for thirty whole minutes every day; every Archon gathered at the same time in the same place to stand silent before the Empress. It is certain each Archon uses the time differently; the younger and less experienced and perhaps the weaker of their number spend it in deep discomfort, unable to focus upon anything but the weight of the Empress' gaze however the elders and those of greater will seemed intent to use the time doing one of two things, planning their actions for every moment they did not spend in the Silent Audience, or attempting to affect the Empress' thoughts or perception of them by their own manner. Such saturation of such advanced and complex human body language is rarely seen elsewhere, and every gesture, every person's stance as they stood silent and motionless, seemed tailored to a specific purpose.

Archive Tyvenicus Operational, Desolaas Recognised as Successor State to Tyvenia
Zaphiron, NZE- Two weeks after the relief forces sent to Tyvenia returned in their somber mood, The Emperor has announced that most of the files transferred from the dead nation of Tyvenia have been successfully compiled into a major database dubbed the Archive Tyvenicus. Classified files from the former nation have been safely locked away in the depths of the archive out of respect, and most of the public data has been given open source access for the world to learn from the culture of the Tyvenians, as well as for those lucky Tyvenians who survived to have access to their own records. He also sent a message to the Desolaas Emergency Council, the leaders of the new nation of Desolaas, asking for permission to send an ambassador to hash out details for the storage and access rights of the Archive Tyvenicus. It is said that within this letter, the Emperor has also personally promised to do whatever is in his power to aid the battered people of Desolaas in the coming years.

Memories Of Grey

Postby Vvarden » Wed Jan 28, 2015 10:12 pm

The Illuminator remembered. Remember, remember, remember, remember. He remembered soldiers, all happy and cheerful, waving as they walked in slow motion. Royal Guards, walking, smiling happy, brave and cheerful. Guns on their soldiers. Below was mud.
He was in an old life. Before him, him, HIM. Before he was the Illuminator. When he was flesh and bone, and guts and sinew and sleepy organs.
The battalion walked. Lights flickered and colours distorted in the memory. Colour was boldened and sour, like old colour footage. They walked to battle, eager. None came back. This was not on Yukon, nor Enkon. From before both. Terra. Or the one after. Terra. No.
This was after Terra. This was the land with the kingdoms, with Halamshiral, with Vokun, with the other city states. Then they left for Enkon when…when the sun expanded, tearing away the planet.
The new generation thought that before Enkon, they were on Terra. They were wrong. All wrong. The Vvardeni Society could not be made in so fine a world. It would be like ordering pub food from the fanciest restaurant in the world.
No.
It came from other societies, mixing, culminating and merging on that world that became the rise of Vvarden. Maybe the old history of Andasreth and Hlormaren was on there too. The land Vvarden identified as Terra was not.
Only he knew.
As he remembered, the Illuminator felt a wave of pain. Not a small jolt, but waves rolling over him. He fell onto his knees.
“I’m dying.” He spoke, as blackness took him.

Excerpt from Journeys Through Arcadia, A Narrative of the Empire by Archon Irylyn Malvos

The Wealth of Thedes
The Great Capital as it is known, Thedes, is one of the largest cities on Yukon, both in terms of physical size and population. Not only that but it has one of the largest economic footprints of any city, for the wealth of nations flows through it from every corner of the Empire and beyond; if there is trade to be had or wealth to be generated then it can be done somewhere within the reaches of Thedes. The city was the first of all the Arcadian settlements to be built upon Yukon and as such was required, for a time at least, to be wholly self sustaining; the core of the city was built from the bulk of the largest starship in the Arcadian Exodite Fleet which was landed and swiftly deconstructed. A three mile deep vertical shaft of epic proportions was bored into the earth beneath the craft, the minerals found there extracted and the rest rendered into raw matter for later use. Now this vertical shaft is as much a part of the city as the spires above with structures built around the inside edges, mines and quarry networks dug around it. Much of the vertical space is occupied by the lower reaches of the city; huge pillars which are honeycombed with roads, passages, habitation units and manufactoria, these pillars support the weight of the city built above. On the surface the city is utterly different, broad and sprawling with carefully planned streets, beautiful parks and avenues and aesthetically pleasing structures built in white bondalloy and fibrealloy; glasplate windows look out over streets built so as to form intricate and pleasing, yet practical patterns below. The closer one gets to the centre, where the shaft and pillars are found below ground the taller the buildings become until finally the brilliant white bondalloy and glasplate structures finally surrender themselves to awesome magnitude of the Basilica, the great seat of power and government which rests suspended above the central pillar below by anti-grav technology on a grand scale.

Image
The Pillars of Thedes.
The lower reaches of the city are where the working people dwell, for all the vast openness of the underground shaft and the ever expanding honeycomb networks of mines and quarries there is an enormous sense of confinement down here. There is almost always a roof directly above one's head, no access to sky nor sun and more often than not a wall within five paces. Down here in the bowels of the city the walls and ceilings of almost every major thoroughfare are lined with bracketed pipes, cables and wires, and a significant portion of the flooring is made from metal grids which separate the ordinary workers from the maintenance and work ducts below which house the machines and infrastructure which makes deep subterranean living possible and even comfortable. The lack of sunlight here is little remarked upon by most of those who dwell here, for most had lived their entire lives on board the colony ships where sunlight and open sky was something encountered only in stories and old recordings; this world instead exists in a state of perpetual twilight with major passages and routes well lit by the soft glow of carefully adjusted strip lights, but the larger areas deemed 'outside' by those who live here are far from sufficiently lit, with the only source of lighting coming from the orange glow of the metalworks below and the bright turquoise and jade of the reactors built into the walls.

Most people live in small apartments built into the enormous pillars which run from the bottom of the shaft all the way to the top and support the cap which rests over it upon which the city centre is built. These pillars are not only marvels of mass large scale engineering and industry but also wondrous examples of economy of space with apartments, shopping districts and light industrial compounds neatly packed one on top of the other. According to the Maintenance Crew Chief for Pillar 3 each pillar is around one kilometer wide; there are six pillars in all with perhaps two hundred meters between each and any other solid structure. A clever web of long catwalks, walkways, road bridges, grav lines and metro lines coil around and connect the pillars to one another and to the Wall, which itself is as densely populated as the Pillars. The Wall, the outside edge of the shaft, is encrusted with structures of all kinds from apartments to transit points for airborne craft and even cranes for the localised transportation and lifting of goods from one warehouse or factory to another. Of course the Wall is but a narrow area which skirts the circumference of the shaft, beyond it lie innumerable networks of tunnels, mines and quarries and even whole subterranean districts of the city. A 3D holographic network map of the underground portions of Thedes can be likened to a scan of the root network of a great tree, or perhaps the sprawling cardiovascular network of the human body; it cannot be said truthfully that I have traveled even one quarter of the vast underground network such is its extent, and I have never seen an estimate of how many square miles of space have been excavated down there.

It is from this subterranean empire that the city draws its wealth and the Empire's life blood. The raw materials extracted in vast quantities from below the earth are fed into the refineries and metalworks of the Shaft where they are rendered into a usable form and then transported to the surface where they are used in the construction and development of the Empire. As a nation of nearly 18 billion souls and a vast territorial extent there is an incredible hunger for building materials and it is from Thedes that much of these materials originate. An endless flow of refined materials; bondalloy ingots, flexalloy sheets, carbon bricks and more, is hoisted out of the shaft by grav line and carted out to the endless frontiers of the nation still to be conquered by civilisation. The other great cities; Vierne, Czerniy, Sombrey and Ishthatar demand more than they yet produce and the infrastructural projects which intend to link up these cities by grav line, road and rail require a constant stream of resources. Walking along the rough metal gantries and catwalks at the base of the Shaft I see the hellish lengths to which we must go to ensure our future and build our nation; I witness muscled men and women labour in harsh circumstances, under incredible heat, to grind down stone, extract minerals and convert them into metal ingots or allow sheets, and yet at the end of their shifts as I watch them leave I see not looks of dejection or frustration upon their faces, but the noble relief and revelry of people who know that their labour is justly appreciated and duly rewarded. Yes it is dangerous, dirty and back breaking work, but they face it with the best tools available and are rewarded for their efforts with good pay and good housing. Though I cannot say I envy them I can say that I am ever impressed and grateful for the multitudinous proletariat of the nation which enables its growth.

Image
A busy transit hub within the Cap.
Climbing up to the top of the Pillars a transition is seen; the edges of the buildings become smoother and sleeker and then abruptly they stop as they reach the Cap the huge ring which forms the roof of the Shaft; latticed with roadways, grav lines, metro lines and walkways that link the lower city to the upper. Of the Cap itself there is little to be said for it is a transition point between the upper and lower cities and there are no homes, nor shops, nor factories here. But above it, on its surface, is built the city centre, the ring district which encircles the hovering Basilica which looms from its place above the hole int he centre of the Cap which droops into the depths of the Shaft itself. This ringed district is home to the offices of the civil service and other branches of government such as law enforcement, courts of justice and military. It is also home to the financial institutions and corporate headquarters for the Empire's great Corporations. Built from gleaming which bondalloy and clear glasplate the central ring of the upper city looks like a gleaming and utopian haven; the broad avenues which separate the great spires are lined with trees and plants which provide a habitat for a multitude of birds, insects and small animals which thrive in spite of the metropolis around them. Statues placed in the many scenic plazas and at the corner of great crossroads depict heroes of Arcadian history and literature while great holo-display banners hung from the outer walls of the spires show the day's news and lists of any important national celebrations or religious festivals.

Beyond this ring the buildings slowly grow shorter though they remain of the same pristine and sleek design. Here are found shops, service offices, banks, light industry, technology centres, libraries and other facilities alongside spacious apartment complexes. In the broad streets and parks of this ring street vendors are a common sight selling everything from food and drink to tourist trinkets and clothing; this is where most of the culture of the common folk of the upper city is found, with street performers, artists and musicians plying their trade and trying to gain the notice of passers by. The parks in this part of the city are particularly beautiful, filled with carefully designed areas for reflection and meditation, space for sporting activities and martial arts practice. It is common to see large groups of people practicing the internal Arcadia martial arts in perfect synchronisation here as a means of maintaining their health, or practicing for sporting events. I personally enjoy the koi ponds with their gently trickling water features which encourage peace and sober thought.

In the outer ring of the upper city are found the sprawling suburban homes and campuses of the most noted educational institutions, mingled in seamlessly around the huge Agridomes and Envirodomes which produce the bulk of the crops needed to feed the city. These are the places where those who prefer a slower pace to life dwell in neatly ordered houses on a precisely planned street layout. Given that the majority of the schools in Thedes for children of all ages are found in this ring it is fair to say that it is the one which best engenders intellectual and academic thought; where the rest of the city, even below ground, seems crowded and fast paced out in the outer ring it seems idyllic and communal. Perhaps I as an outsider have an overly idealised view of the situation but this is the part of the city which I find to be most beautiful.

looking for trade in all the right places
Midgar,46566- With the recent resettling of the planet by native peoples of Enkon old alliances and trade partners were separated. With most of the trading partners of the former USS on the other side of the planet the newly reformed Grand Duchy has begun to look to stabilize it's economy and re look for trade partners on the new planet. The Grand Duchy is currently looking to open trade with the following nations: Herargon,Cyrellican,Vvarden and Caisus. While only a few trading partners the move is seen as a stepping stone for the future prosperity of the Grand Duchy.

Trade Interests Broaden, Imperial Trade Agreements Sent Out
Zaphiron, NZE- the following day of 46566's offers of trade to various nations, the Empire also sent out a call for trade to resume, offering limited trade agreements to the countries of Arcadia, New Wolfeinstein, Desolaas, and 46566 to start. Plans are in the works for mercantile representatives to meet with their equivalents in at least 2 other countries in the near future as well, however these are still being kept anonymous for various political reasons.

A Poetic Happening

Postby Herargon » Thu Jan 29, 2015 1:41 pm

Herargon Has Seen Everything Now

''But, sir, you are really meaning this?''

''Yes, I do. This decrete is what I want. I want to approve that Desolaas is now the legal succesor, the indivisible and great -''

''But, your Imperial Highness...''

''DON'T EVEN DARE TO SAY 'BUT!', said the Emperor to his Internal Affairs Minister, and he grabbed his long, old scepter and stabbed him with it.
The minister only had a few seconds to spring away, but that didn't save him from having both a nosebleed and a bloody hand.

''Ouch! - I mean, a Thousand Forgives for thy, O great Imperator.. ouch..''

''Bow down.''
He bowed down.
''Deeper.''
He bowed deeper down.

''This is not 'deep' enough, bow until your spine breaks!', he commanded.
'With all respect, Your Royal Highness, b-''
''DO IT OR ELSE I STAB YOUR EYES OUT! I AM THE SOLE EMPEROR! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? A PRANKSTER?'' he screamed.
Archelaus Tiberias, one of the di Caesario's, was furious.
His most loyal subject did not obey enough for months, was insulting other ministers, and even after being stabbed he was that filthy enough to not obey to Him, the Emperor himselves?
'Stand up', Archelauss commanded, and he obeyed. He looked him right into the eyes.
'First, I am the only one who you have to obey to. Second, I am the only one that matters. This Empire is not run by bureaucrats that do nothing. Third, your socks stink and you have peed in your pants. Go clean them! Within five minutes I demand you be returned, or you will be executed.''

'Y-yes, sir!', the minister of Internal Affairs said fastly.
'The clock is running. Tick-tock. Tick-''
He was away before he finished his second word. Hm. Well, he was not worth anything anyway since he was very new and a political dissident.
It was a good tactic to let dissidents gain the hope that they could overthrow our gracious absolutarian, enlightened despotic fascist monarchy, and then... the feeling to see their faces as they were executed, it was so great. But he was not a sadist, unlike his father, which executed 300 people on a daily base, and let the people have children at a rate of 301 daily, so that their nation would not have demographic problems.

At least that political purge succeeded in erasing the last non-obeying anti-imperial people, he thought.

Ring. That was the sound of the bell of the intercom.

''Yes?''
'Your Highest Majesty, the Minister of Foreign Affairs is waiting for you.''
'Let him come in, and have make him a tea. He loves that.''
''Sure, Your Majesty.''

He proceeded to sit behind his bureau, and then the door opened.
Before him stood his - somewhat better - man that was not unobeying. He was experienced, and secretly a communist.
He knows that. And the Minister does, too. But at least he is not shouting that all fascists be executed, or that the Emperor should be thrown off his throne.
Since the Emperor essentially allows communist parties to exist, and that an emperor has a lot in common with those filthy communist dictators that ruled the country for live, there was no difference. Or, that is what we pretend to do, he thought grimly.

''Peace be with Mars, minister.''
''Your Majesty, thank you very well. I however have a message that could be deemed important.''

''Well, take a seat and tell your fascinating stories then.''

It was uttermost unfortunate that at this very moment, the doors opened and the Minister of Internal Affairs came in with being clothed fully, except the detail that his tie was untidy made. I frowned, and he said, happily: ''I made it, Your Majesty! Four minutes and thirty seconds!''

The minister of Foreign Affairs frowned upon this surprising story, and followed with a sarcastical voice: ''But your tie, you have forgotten it...''

''What? No, I - '', and he looked downwards and saw that his tie was not fully tied. ''I - o - bullcr*p, - sorry! - '' and he began tying his tie quickly in a Windsor form.

'You have ten seconds left', I said, coldly.
'Nine.'
The man was not completed with the first bow.
'Eight.'
He quickly finished it and completed his second bow already.
'Seven.'
It was amusing and fascinating to see how a man in such stress managed to do this in such a short time.
'Six.'
This third was now almost finished...
'Five.'
He was panicking, for real. He began making it quickly up and finished his second to last bow of his tie.
'Four.'
He made a mistake and shouted silently and fastly corrigated his mistake.
'Three.'
It now became dangerous for real.
'Two.'
His tie was completed, except his last bow...
'One.'
He was halfway, and then instantly went from red to white to blue to having a feeling of utmost fear. It was visible.
And then he finished it.
'Zero.'

''FINISHED, MASTER!'', he shouted, so loudly that my brother, which was a heavy sleeper, surely would be awake. He then bowed down immediatly as a Muslim would do, and kissed my toes. That was an old tradition to welcome or to say that you are very sorry and offering the person to who you bowed down the chance to demand anything from you.
I stood up, calmly. He looked at me with an alarmingly white face that could express only one thing: fear.
'You know, I don't like it when people fullfill their work late. But I like it when they complete it in any case.'

I was silent for a long time, and then he murmured softly 'Thank.. you...Y-your Royal Highness..''

I pulled out my sword, and pointed it to him, as if I were knighting him.
Then I cut off his head. And he fell of the ground, not even having the time to shock one last time.
He didn't even look surprised; there was not enough time for that to have happened.

''....''

''That work is done. He was a real piece of art'', I spoke, and it was that he was spoken odiously about.

''Should the floor not be cleaned now?'', the minister of Foreign Affairs muttered. He was long enough there in office to know that I was to be treated as every Imperator: as a demigod. Critic against me was allowed, but not if it was pointed towards the ideology of imperial worship.
''You're right. CLEANERS!'', I shouted in the intercom, and they immediatly came to clean it up. They didn't look surprised.

'Did they hate him?', I wondered about the cleaners when they were gone again.
'Yeah, pretty much. He said that he won't give them any raise.'
'Thanks, that is something I will keep in my mind', I spoke dryly.

We both laughed, a true moment of humour. No scare or anger intended, indeed.

''Alas! But now seriously, my Emperor.'', he scraped his throat.

''Speak as you will, again.'' I said friendly.

''Well... The nation of Four-Six-Five-Six-Six wants a trade agreement with us. They want to open trade with us.''

''Ah, but of course that is allowed!'', I called with a tone of surprise in my voice. ''They were good friends and will remain so. They have been neutral towards our national policies and are a powerful nation, filled with many colours of honourable people.'', I said as a poet.

''Very well, Your Royal Highness. Anything else to ask from them?''

''That they only are allowed to place trade buildings at our coast and not in the deep country, except if it are other Special Free Trade Zones.''

''I have heard you and will report this as you spoke, and as you have heard, my Emperor.'' He bowed, and walked out of the room.

Wolven Empire and Zaphirite Empire sign deal

For the last couple months, Unibearia and Zaphiron have been having talks. There were talks about trade, renewing the Old Uno-Zaphirite alliance (Which was accepted) but then there was the subject of trading technologies. Unibearia had a large interest in Zaphiron's FAFs and Hydrogen powercell technologies and Zaphiron had an equally large interests in Unibearia's simulation technology (VRSS or Virtual Reality Simulation System). Both nations had different kinds of Plasma technologies and were also willing to trade their tech. A deal was struck. Unibearia would have the rights to build 25 FAFs for free but will have to have atleast 5 FAFs reserved for the production domestic goods (Consumer goods)and that 25% of the profits from those 5 FAFs would be directed to Zaphiron's treasury (For life/forever). Unibearia would give Zaphiron rights to produce and use (Not sell) Unibearia's VRSS technology and would also give blueprints of Unibearia's current plasma technology in exchange for Zaphiron's Water fusion, Hydrogen Powercell technology and Blueprints of Zaphiron's current Plasma technology. This deal has been signed by both parties and has been named the 'First Uno-Zaphirite Technological Accord'.

There has also been rumors that a large wargames between Zaphiron and Unibearia is to be held once both nations are stable economically and politically. But, those are just rumors.. Or are they?

New Rovstad constructed!

It has been a couple months since construction started of New Rovstad and after months of hard working, New Rovstad has been constructed. It known for it's modern architecture and the enormous Imperial Palace in the centre of the city. New Rovstad will be the centre of Production of the entire Unibearian nation! It has a capacity of 250 million people but that is simply impossible! Or is it? The city's industrial sector has been built underground to maximise living space on the surface, all the toxic gases/waste produced by the industrial sector will be filtered and recycled (If possible) before being released in the atmosphere from a vent outside the city. People have already been assigned their living quarters in the city. They will own their living space but will have to pay a tax of 1500 Unakoes a year for upkeep and as means of payment for the services offered to them. This does not count for normal taxes, it is a separate tax.

Hospitals, police departments and fire departments have all been built and staffed. There are rumors that there is an underground government complexe but there is no solid proof that this claim exists.

Wolven Empire wishes to trade

After the construction of New Rovstad, the Imperial stockpile department sent a request to the Imperial council that "Trade is a necessity if our nation is to remain in the positive and not induced into a famine.". And so, the Wolven Empire sends trade agreements to all of the large nation's such as Nedea, Arcadia, the Grand Duchy and old time friends such as Caisus, New Toola, Cyrellican and Vvarden but also nation's were there was not much interaction in the past like Herargon, Newwald, Minecraftia, Saratoga and Moarfall. The Wolven Empire made it clear that this is just basic trade agreement. Unibearian goods such as Alcohol, Unibearian Jerky and many more known Unibearian goods are up for the market.

William was standing the balcony outside his office. The sun was rising, with the sky a brilliant hue of red, gold and blue, reflecting off the pristine oceans surrounding Bellamont, the island city which served as the capital of Croxoco. Just thirty years before, that same city had been the flag ship of the Croxian Starfleet, and had landed on Yukon to begin the Croxoconian Colonization of Yukon, in the aftermath of the doom of the Croxian Star Empire. There was not a cloud in sight, and there was a gentle breeze blowing from the west. Just one hour ago, he had been awoken by his staff, and was beginning yet another day in the office. William had not witnessed the doom of the empire, for he had yet to be born when Croxos, the star at the centre of the Croxian Empire, went into supernova. An empire numbering into the hundreds of trillions of people collapsed into nothing, with just 6 Billion surviving the doom. Now, after forty years, the population of the Republic of Croxoco had reached 8.1 Billion and was still growing. Despite not having been alive when the doom happened, it was William who was now burdened with the reconstruction of Croxoco.

William had served as President of Croxoco for just over 4 Years, having been elected to a second term in the largest landslide in Croxoconian election history just the year before, and had presided over a period of peace and prosperity in Croxoco, overseeing the 'Great Society' programme, which targeted the growth of the Education, Healthcare, Welfare, Social Security and Environmental Protection Programmes provided by the Government. In addition, funding to commerce and industry, sensible regulation of the economy and significant cuts in taxation had served to strengthen the Croxoconian Economy, leading to the biggest economic boom in decades. All the while, technological, scientific and military research had been prioritised, allowing the Republic to completely rebuild the Army, Navy and Starfleet branches of the military, and to develop ever advanced methods of efficient, clean and renewable energy production, which had fueled the technological development of Croxoco. Things in Croxoco were thus relatively quiet, and the President's main concern lay with the confirmation of his nomination to the Croxoconian Supreme Court.

"Mr President, when you're ready, we are waiting for you." said a tall, middle-aged man walking out from behind William. Leo Spencer was one of Charlie's closest friends, and had managed the election campaigns which had gotten him elected to the Presidency. It had taken William less than a day to make up his mind on who to appoint Chief of Executive Staff, and he chose his friend, Leo. "Yes Leo, i'll be right there. Mike! Get me a glass of water will ya? We gotta long day ahead of us." replied the President, walking into his office. The Presidents Office was large and airy in nature, and was oval shaped, with a floor constructed from oak and mahogany. A large oval shaped woolen rug, blue in colour and embroided with the Presidential Seal in gold, surrounded by embroidered gold stars, covered the floor. Two four-seater couches, four arm-chairs, 4 side tables and 1 coffee table were aranged in the northern half of the office next to a marble fireplace, above which hung a portrait of William Blair, the first President of Croxoco who had established the Croxoconian Colony on Yukon. The southern half was dominated by the President's desk, a large partner's desk constructed from oak, inscribed with various symbols and mottos of the Republic, with an inbuilt hologram, a hotline connecting the office to the leaderships of other countries, and littered with various pieces of paperwork. The southern wall was dominated by 3 great glass doors which opened out onto the President's balcony. The walls were a plain cream colour, and the furniture was varnished oak upholstered in bright yellow fabric. The President took his seat behind his desk, his seat being a swivel chair upholstered in fine grain black leather, and began his meeting with senior Executive Staff.

---5 Hours Later---

The President and his senior staff had gathered in the Blair Room, which was equipped with a large screen displaying a live feed from the Senate Chamber over at the Capitol Building. The Administration watched closely as the confirmation votes in the Senate were being cast, the roll call being read out by the clerk of the Senate. "Senator Hague votes Nay. 73 Aye votes counted and 11 Nay votes counted. Calling Senator Williams to Vote." the clerk droned as the live feed continued to broadcast. "3 more votes and your nomination in confirmed, Mr President. 3 More votes, and the Supreme Court becomes liberal." Said Leo, evidently excited about the prospect. "Yeah I know, Leo. I will be back in just a moment, I need to speak to Suzanne about the Embassy Initiative with Arcadia." And with that, the President left for his office, closely followed by 2 secret service agents.

William had just reached his office when his personal aide, Mike Hill came running in. "Mr President, pardon me for disturbing you, but the Senate has just confirmed Mrs Fernandez's appointment to the Supreme Court. You have done it sir!". "I know, Mike, I know. Me and Suzanne are off to grab some lunch. Tell Leo i'll be back in 30 minutes. Also, tell Bill I would like to see him in my office in an hour, we have a lot to discuss with regard to ending our isolationist foreign policy. Good afternoon Mike." the President replied gleefully, leaving his office with the Secretary of State. "Good afternoon, Mr President!" replied Mike, with a smile on his face. This day was going tobe a good day for the President, and he knew it.

Vvardeni News Network
Multiple Trade Deals Signed

After the huge amount of requests the Vvardeni government to trade with other foreign nations, all of them have been signed and agreed to, including the Wolven Empire, 46566 and Heragon, in hopes of attaining and gaining status within those nations.
Due to many of the deals, Vvardeni authorities are also noticing a large amount of tourists coming to New Erriel to not just to watch fighting at the Arena, but also to savour the Vvardeni lifestyle.

Also, Vvarden offers it's condolences to New Toola in the wake of their Chief Elder's passing. To the funeral, Vvarden sends a seasoned diplomat and politician, Erriel Derrik-Oryn, son of President Derrik and his husband, Daxtarian Oryn.
Tyvenia is too acknowledged and a vigil will be held to remember the 1.5 billion who died in a few days. Vvarden also acknowledges the small Tyvenian tourist amounts and communities within major cities and asks them to, if they wish, rejoin their country, to restart.

Government Confirms Position On Assassination
The Zutyensin Archonate today announced that following approval from the Empress Eternal the official position of the Arcadian Empire on assassins be they from organised groups selling their services, fundamentalist organisations or lone individuals with a point to make. The announcement came only hours after the announcement of a 'Guild' base in Zaphiron which has led many to suspect that it was the motivation behind the decision - the Archonate has not commented on this subject as yet and it is not anticipated that they will in the near future given how plain the statement issued was. The announcement itself was made at a press conference in the lower halls of the Basilica in Thedes which was given by the Grand-Archon himself, he had the following to say:

"The operation and activity of any group offering the service of murder, assassination, sabotage or espionage without the express approval of the Archonate or Empress will be met in the harshest of terms. It is now the official position of the Arcadian Empire that such individuals, when identified, be treated as an armed hostile soldier committing an act of war against the Empire. This is regardless of the identity of the assassin, their nationality, employer, species or target. The Empress has thus decreed that the punishment for any person found attempting assassination, sabotage or espionage shall be a swift death by either decapitation or firing squad; should the assassin be found to be accepting payment for their 'services' or part of an organisation which accepts payment for the assassin's service then they shall instead be a slow death by incremental strangulation. Should such a person be found to be targeting children, state or military officials then they shall face live dissection with their life artificial maintained throughout the procedure for a period of 48 hours. Should such a person be found to be targeting the Empress, her Circle, Justicars, Magisters or her Sisters of Mercy then they shall be slowly flayed alive, their life preserved artificially, before having their eyes and tongue removed and thrown into a vat of salt, after which they shall be placed inside a radioactive coffin and buried alive."

The description of the punishments listed brought cries of shock even from the Arcadian media, for no other crimes have such brutal nor agonising punishments. The death sentence is usually reserved for serial murderers, serial rapists and child abusers and no crime carries the sentence of slow death, regardless of the method; the Grand-Archon however qualified these statements by saying; "If at all practical and possible all persons accused of such a crime will be tried fairly in accordance with the law. However I must stress that the nature of these offences and the individuals perpetrating them is such that it is unlikely that any will be brought in alive to be so tried." In direct response to the announcement it was confirmed by Legate Solomon Kehrer of the Justiciar's Office that the full strength of the Ordo Justitia has been put given the underlying task of identifying and rooting out spies, assassins and intelligence agents. While the punishment for spying alone remains discretionary life imprisonment it seems that the Justicars will now be enforcing the Empress' will in the capacity of a counter intelligence agency.

Learn About Arcadia - The Justiciar's Office and the Ordo Justitia
The Ordo Justitia is the paramilitary force which enforces the key tenets of the Great Social Contract and Imperial Law. It is run by the Justiciar's Office which itself is headed by the Justiciar him, or herself. The current Justiciar is Constantine Vasker who as held the post since 305 13e, just prior to the Empire's escape from the Anomaly. The Office of the Justiciar consists of the Justiciar and his central staff, as well as the pyramid of command, flowing down through the Provincial commanders and senior officers (the Legates) to the Sector commanders (the Priores) then to Regional (the Secundes).

Individual members of the Ordo Justitia are generally referred to as Justicars, they serve as the ultimate enforcers of the Great Social Contract and Imperial Law. Most Justicars are what are known as Justicars Militant, they serve as the primary muscle for the Ordos; they are typically lead by a Justicar Curate who serve both as a combat officer and an intelligence agent. Most Justicars Curate, Secundi and Priori also employ Acolytes, most Acolytes are simple intelligence gathers and form the eyes and ears of the Ordo Justitia, however they are not members of the organisation itself; some however are taken as apprentices by the Secundi and Priori and become Tiros, trainee Curates.

The Ordo Justitia does not deal with everyday street crime such as theft or even murder; the crimes they track are larger in scope. Organised crime is a major target of the Ordo, as are terrorist cells, cults and foreign intelligence agents. That is not to say that if a Justicar witnesses a theft that they will ignore it, however if they are already on assignment, or have more important things to do they will often simply relay the details to the local police and move on.

Unlike the police the Ordo Justitia are a paramilitary force, the Justicars Militant travel is squads in light armoured vehicles, armed with an array of weaponry from pistols through submachine guns to assault rifles and even anti-materiel weapons. This does not mean that the Ordo Justitia always arrives armed to the teeth; because they operate in a modern and civilised society they are expected and required to show restraint where possible and rushing around with the big guns at the slightest sign of trouble is a good way to attract the wrong kind of attention.

Due to the frontier nature of much of the Empire there are vast expanses of wilderness which have yet to be civilised and settled; new settlements spring up and die off more quickly than the police are able to keep track of them, as a result the Ordo Justitia are often called upon to resolve serious crime problems in these areas. Since they are empowered to be judge, jury and executioner this often results in a harsh form of frontier justice when a peaceful or judicious solution is not possible; however enforcing regular street laws is not their job so policing the frontier is mostly left to the Ordo Magistrates or the Police.

Emperor Denies Arcadian Claims of Aggression, Points to Rising Crime Problem as Reason
Zaphiron, NZE- hours again after the false accusations against the Empire were made by the Arcadian Empress, the Emperor sent a statement to the Arcadian Empress that refuted her claims.

During most of the past year, domestic disputes have been steadily rising between two of our ethnic groups, the Remnantfolk and the Aquinsterians, over a long-held grudge from their days on Enkon. After several confrontations between the two groups taking a serious toll on police forces, Imperial Police have requested for military aid in dealing with the groups.

This is why we invited the Guild into the Empire. As part of the agreement, any wanted man with a warrant or bounty is fair game to their assassins, so it served as a fairly clean business deal for the lessening of criminal elements, as well as a good diplomatic move. We assure you that this was not meant as an aggressive move towards your Empire. As we have already sent you a proposal for trade which has as of yet been unanswered I remind you, why would we take aggressive steps towards you? That would not be profitable or honorable.

Hopefully, you will understand, Empress of Arcadia, that I mean to be a peaceful neighbor. I do not hold any intention for invasion or attacks against you, or any of my neighbors, and I wish to pass my life in days of peace on this third home of mine.

But I cannot speak for the Wolfeinsteinians. If they intend to expand into your sphere, that was not told to me in our talks. What my people do pertains to me, as yours do to you. What the Guild does is their own business, and I would trust you to remember it.

Your Peer in Rule, and Tentative Friend,

The Emperor of the New Zaphirite Empire

Wolven Empire takes a position on mysterious 'guild'

After the rather disturbing news hit the Unibearian media, the Imperial council has been having talks with the Czar to take a stance on this issue. With that there might be an interest for a 'guild' to make Unibearia it's 'home' because of the rising black market problem the Empire has been experiencing, the Czar has signed the official 'ban' of the Sanguis Luna from the Wolven Empire, this and also the Deportation of any Wolfeinsteinians currently in the Wolven Empire since Wolfeinstein is the current home of the Sanguis Luna, the Empire will not take any risk of having a member of the guild be inside it's borders. To add to this, the Czar has ordered that all law enforcement entities in the Empire must begin 'exterminating' gangs and ultimately ending any large organized crime rings. And as an extra security measure, all cargo being imported in the Empire must be thoroughly inspected before going to it's final destination. Any contraband or illegal/restricted goods will be confiscated. Once the crime problem has lowered to a manageable state, the law enforcement will 'cut some slack' on it's anti-crime campaign.

The Wolven Empire also wishes to express it's concern on the already rising tensions between Arcadia and the Zaphirite Empire, albeit it shouldn't be classified as 'rising tensions', the Wolven Empire just wishes to express it's concern over the stability of the North.

Victus sits slumped over at his desk in Caliginosum, his jet black fur gleams in the artificial light. A half empty 2 litre bottle of Howler vodka can be seen near his chair. The sound of unsheathed claws can be heard clicking across the hardwood flooring, leading to his office. Victus looks up bleary eyed and attempts to hide the bottle in his desk, the clicking is getting closer. Suddenly Decessus rips open the door, anger and disgust flashing in her eyes. "Victus, what on earth are you doing" Decessus growls out in the old tongue. He looks up, the bottle safely tucked away in his desk. "Oh nothing, just looking over the trade agreement and statistics from Zaphiron" he replies groggily in English, gesturing towards the papers residing on the polished oak. Decessus steps towards him and wrinkles her nose, she snarls "You son of a bitch, your as drunk as a Unibearian politician". Victus leans back in his chair, defensively he replies "Look it's been a really tough time for me lately and I just needed to relax". Decessus gestures towards the marble wet bar in the corner, a small pile of cocaine can be seen "Is this what you call relaxing, my father just died and now your destroying yourself? I know what your going through he was my dad after all, you should quit being such a selfish dick and grow up". Victus stares down in shame, he whispers "I'm sorry, it isn't fair to you or the other guild masters".Decessus crosses her arms and looks towards the painting of Arcosis in his battle armour, disappoint and pain are written all over her face. "I think you need to leave Vic, go clean up your act. The guild doesn't need an accident waiting to happen here, especially with such big changes coming". He replies, full of hurt and betrayal "If you think that's best, I'll be at my villa in Zaphiron in you need me".

"So it seems relations with Caisus could not be higher," Daxtarian said to Johans, reading the newspaper with his exposed eyes. It was customary of Caisians to take their masks off in the boundary of their homes. "Unless Vvarden merges with Caisus." He looks at Johans Derrik, who is sitting on a desk opposite, feet on the table, hands behind head, looking around his luxury apartment.
How odd that he was born into a poor family, during the time of the Great Migration, and now was living in one of the most expensive places in Vvarden. The city of New Erriel shone below in the dusk.
"Well, Dax. Not being in an alliance with Caisus would be like me dying, making the world dark and horrible."
Daxtarian stood up and kissed Johans on his way to the kitchen, where he was to prepare dinner. It was an arrangement between them. Dax cooks and Johans cleans.
Johans wondered what it was like to die, but he knew he couldn't now. He was 80, yes, but still athletic and healthy.
Johans wanted to reach the age of 130, so he could become a Saint in the eyes of Vvarden, more so than he was already.
So he stood up and went to help Dax with dinner.

Underneath New Erriel
Úmaril walked in the tepid place, watching the werewolves and hybrids nearby staring at him with piercing eyes as he approached the hidden headquarters of Sanguis Luna.
He needed someone killed.
Once he walked in, he was astonished at the beauty of the place, from sewers and waist deep water to an almost rusting temple, with banners and altars.
A wolven was behind a red desk, polishing his glasses.
Úmaril walked up to him.
"I want the Head. I have a contract for him."
The wolfen pointed to a large door made of iron and wood.
When Úmaril walked inside, he was greeted with a werewolf on a desk more crimson than of his secretary.
The walls were covered with pictures, not of assassins but of their victims, with little plates that read something like "Tyrdas Mornon, exhumed 2701, Month of the Sideways Leech."
Úmaril walked up to the openly dressed werewolf and told him
"I want someone dead."
"Of course, else you would not've come here. Now, who?" The Head muttered in a posh accent.
"Let us call him the Saint." Úmaril handed the werewolf a picture.
"This target, is protected, and we are also not allowed to target such good people, tis too low for us."
"Too low?!" Úmaril repeated. "He is too low a target for you?!"
"Yes."
Úmaril pulled out a large sack.
"What if I was to give you this?"
He emptied it onto the floor, revealing piles of gold.
The werewolf shrugged. "A bribe...could work. But you may need to bribe others."
Úmaril smiled. "I have lots."

Trans-Unibearian Rail begins construction

With the Capital city constructed and basic infrastructure in place connecting the major cities and a couple of large settlements to the basic road system, the Imperial Council and the Czar have agreed that the construction of the Trans-Unibearian rail system should start without a moments notice. Raw material and resources coming from mining settlements have abled this decision to be made as there is now a surplus in said materials. The rail is to connect all the main cities with each other and converge to the Capital. It will have two types of Rails, one industrial rail, which will serve the giant locomotives that will serve Unibearian industries to transport materials and goods and a smaller rail that will be used by regular trains for civil use and transportation. This is also a method to insure that supplies make it to the hundreds of settlements that have arisen in the Frontier Lands of Yukon.

HERARGONIAN GOVERNMENT DECLARES STATE OF NEUTRALITY IN ANY WAR
Image

ROMAE. The Senate officially has declared today that Herargon will be neutral in any war.
The speaker explains this as following; ''We have debated on this question for a long time.
Being neutral for us is a controversial situation. If we were to choose to not to be neutral,
we could not benefit from alliances and be stronger against foreign attacks.
On the other side, however, if were to be neutral,
and if all nations of Yukon were to acknowledge our neutrality, we indeed could find ourselves
to be quite safe. But that won't mean we will be neutral without using our weapons!
If we ever will be attacked, our emperor said, we won't be able to rely on the
international community then.''

The Imperator has commented on this question with the statement
''that neutrality should be preserved under all circumstances, but that it
then means that other nations should not interfere with our own politics.
Thus, I ask from all countries in Yukon and in name of myself and the Senate - that we
indeed as the Senate said after conclusion of the debate - that we
be acknowledgded as a neutral and sovereign nation.''

The Senate has not yet commented on the first statement from the emperor,
The Herargonian Senate Building. It has been restored three days ago.

as the Office closed when it was night-time.
