Hey, when you don't exist, there's not much people can do to fact check you. :P

The Sentinels, OTOH, are legendary heroes to the public in the URA. You know what an off-duty Sentinel sees? Many, many drinks bought for him and many many, women happy to meet him. All they need to do is wear their commemorative off-duty bomber jackets or hoodies with the Sentinel patch on the arms.

Well, thank you.

*scrambles sniper team with new info*

Could you tell me their favorite drinks?

In all honesty, though, the group I brought with ATLAS was actually not supposed to exist. The Death Korps are a group in the SS which literally does not exist in records. Similarly, Ghosts (elite snipers) don't exist, either.

Though, the SS does. And they are very much revered by their country. :P

Your SS are like our Sentinels. The Vanguard are likewise well-known, but since they don't do much but look pretty in Power Armor guarding military installations and marching around, they have little combat record to get free drinks from.

Our off-the-books team are the Marshals, which is about a company of Splinter Cell wannabes, who I've never actually RP'd, with. But I've thought of maybe bringing one onto my Atlas team for the lolz, just to see the interactions he would have with Sentinels. (Fore reference, the Marshals have a real OGA feel about them, and regular military and SF really distrust and dislike Marshals for that reason. That, and most Marshals are elitist pricks with a god-complex, or so the stereotype goes. :P )

You have no idea how hard it is to keep a group of ten secret, and keep sending them on missions like this. :P

Yeah, that's why the URA made the Sentinels famous instead of keeping them secret. The Marshals are solo(very rarely groups of 2-3) on missions, so they're much easier to keep secret.

Well, I have to keep a group of about .... What... 100-500 secret, because A) they're assassins, B.) they're elite guard, C) I use them to start wars, D) I can attack any place without fearing retaliation, and E) Can you imagine the look on some people's faces when they see these people?

In DEN, the Death Korps are a legend, and rightly so. They're only CALLED that by the soldiers in DEN and by the civvies because some literally believe them to be dead.

The story was that an SS group known as the 21st Battalion: Krepest Korps, was stuck in one of the cities in DEN during a civil war. They were cornered by enemy forces, and someone had managed to target them with a Themobaric. After the entire city was destroyed during the attack, the surviving soldiers were all burned alive by the rebels.

Well, when suddenly, rebels who participated in the attack began disappearing, people started talking. Rumors of blackened soldiers wearing trench coats, with nothing but a skull for a face, began circulating. They would say that those who survived (very little) would babel on about burnt skeleton soldiers stalking in the snow, appearing out of nowhere to kill everyone without a sound. Obviously, many said they were insane.

Eventually, people started saying that these men were the last of the Korps, and nicknamed them Death Korps, saying that the Dead were rising and would not rest until they had taken their revenge.

That's why they wear black bulletproof masks with the face of skull painted on.

Never played the game.

Never owned it, either. I only do games like Arma and whatnot. Occasionally, I'll do one of those 'shoot to deplete health' games.

Until then al of the covert operations were carried out by the IS SCU (Internal Securty Situation Control Unit), whose official role was dealing with insurgencies, terror and hostage situations. It appeared that while the unit exelled in it's official role, it had no experiance fighting against regular armies. The new special forces units were trained in covert operations and unconventional warfare. Their purpose was completing various missions such as assasination, sabotage, abductions and so on. The first was the 1st SOPU. They specialized in aerial deployment, covert execution of the mission, and then extraction by foot. Their first combat experiance occured during the Takistani Civil War in 2015. The mission was ro prepare an ambush for an enemy convoy and destroy it. It was a great success, and now they are the main special operations unit of the Tukisian Air Force.

Oh....I wasn't aware that atlas was accepting attractive Psionic operators. :o

No, more like she flunked basic training. Twice. Mostly because she wasn't deemed healthy enough, as she was just a lithe little 90-pound 16 year old.
-On the other hand, extensive training after her liberation has resulted in the muscles she has to be fairly well toned.

*Looks at URA's armor*

I see obsolete British heavy armor for the torso and shoulders only, 60 year old chest-rigs that fit the wrong magazines, and sports/bicycle helmets and baseball-caps where something that offers actual ballistic protection should be.

Did I miss anything?

BTW: your rhino... it weighs about 2 and a half tons IIRC... does it have a fear of heights?
-Because I think I may have ordered the Rhino to 'hop in' on one of my UAVs.

Well, when you put it like that... Yeah. But they can't wear the Army/Internal Security Agency armor:

It's too flashy. SF operators need to look grungy and bad-ass while having a lot of cool shit.

Well... The Rhino isn't really afraid of anything, since it's a thoughtless machine that I slightly personify in my writing. But if it were smarter, it wouldn't be afraid of heights, because that's irrational. A fear of falling to its doom, however.... Very rational.

Ah good.

Remember that pulsejet I had dive on the facility?

Care to guess what I was going to reveal was clutching onto its underside for dear 'life'?
-Is going to park it in a field and have it surprise Koopa, but since he's got a live video feed...

(alternately, it was transported before boot-up. And 'woke up' in a field.)

Epic reunion once it finds Koopa.

All the while a group of Namenian SS are following after the rhino, and when they see the tracks one of them shouts out to his CO, "Look, sir. Droids!"
