BTW, pack-mules are for lugging packs and pulling carts.
-Either at the extreme-rear, or the extreme front.

Not charging enemy fortifications.

Gotta lug a .50 cal up a hill? Borrow a donkey.

And APFSDS is better if your gun can handle it. HESH is better if armor is monoblock slab without spall-liner (or munition is large enough to render the liner moot*) with HEAT being a close 3rd.
*Fill a drop-tank with C-4, drop it on a sub-pen. Photograph the baseball-diamond sized spall-crater on the inside. Probably does a number on caves, too.

S-tank... bigger gun on a lighter chassis... may be good if the ground is soft marshland or logistics demand a compact tank that can be operated by a single person. Removing or not updating electronics essentially relegates such devices to some strange form of field-artillery.
