SHADES (Strategic Homefront: Advanced Defense and Espionage Soldiers) Unit One

Names of Tier One Operators (Optional):
Commander Mark Swanson, Sergeant Luke Bryon, Sergeant Marcia Mendez, Corporal Will Stanford, Specialist John Mason

Warfighter Loadout:
M16 Assault Rifles- An all purpose assault rifle with a number of attachments that can be used. Has a 30-round clip and shoots 5.56 mm bullets

Desert Eagle pistols- This weapon has a 9 round clip and fires 9mm bullets.

M9 Frag Grenades- A standard fragmentation grenade that has a 6-second delay and a blast radius of 5 feet.

BDU (Battle Dress Uniform) Kevlar Armor- Standard combat uniform, the BDU has 3 layers of kevlar that are known to stop 5.56 mm bullets. The BDU usually comes in any cameo style. Also has carry pockets for radios, maps, compasses, and ammo.

M72 LAW (launcher): A 9 foot long launcher, the M72 can launch anything, from grenades to missiles

The unit also has MRE's and other survival items.


Biography of Unit:
The SHADES Unit One was formed in 1999 to protect the mainland of New Madigral from terrorist threats. Now a first-response unit, SHADES Unit One is a global task force, capable of deploying anywhere in the world. Most members come from branches of the New Madigral military; and have to go through a 4 month boot camp to be placed in this unit. Make no mistake: this Unit was meant to be feared. Now under the command of Commander Mark Swanson (who works in the field), the Unit currently has 5 members, all certified in various combat specialties.

In the airspace over London...

The MH-53 Blackhawk helicopter glided over the ruined landscape of England. Up ahead, the buildings of London, or what was left of them, appeared.

Captain Shane Ryok, team leader for the mission was in awe. He called in on his radio, "pilot, you seeing this?"

The city appeared to be mostly intact. Buildings were devastated in parts, but everything else looked OK.

Shane radioed again, "Pilot, land us in the outskirts of the city, over."

The pilot acknowledged the order and landed in the outskirts. After the team disembarked, the Blackhawk flew into the distance. Meanwhile, Shane and his mean readied gear and weapons: M16's, Desert Eagles, Frag Grenades, and flashbangs.

Shane began giving orders to his team: "Okay, we are going into unknown territory, men. We don't know what's there and what we are dealing with, so weapons are free until further notice. Your Rules of Engagement are simple but strict: DO NOT FIRE UNLESS FIRED UPON. I cannot stress that enough. I don't want any of you guys to be the bastard who started a war. If we happen to make contact, we will identify ourselves as Republic of New Madigral Marines. Okay, now let's move out!"

The guys you gave jobs to do everything and the rest of us are left wondering what our roles actually are?

Ok, maybe a bit snide but seriously, i'm not completely sure how to make a meaningful contribution from just "support everyone else", especially as my guys aren't teched up with drones or w/ev. Is that be in the area and provide overwatch, hang around somewhere waiting for a phone call so we rush in to try and when someone's in the shit, or just sending comforting and motivational texts messages before they start the op.

You've given a objective to one or two teams, and just lumped everyone else together to sit on the bench and kick their heels, it seems.

I like that. I like that a lot.

And the support team doesn't have to sit and twiddle their thumbs, it can be just as dangerous and stressful as the primary teams. I really want to see Caesar live and keep going, but we need people to post to do it, and in order for people to post, we need them to know what to post.

I feel like something where each of us have one operative and they do something together (read: slaughter some infidels terrorists) so we can hopefully lessen the sheer amount of wanking and what not.

I don't think you should leave. You gave it a go and it didn't work out, big deal. Maybe take break from being an OP until you have more time or experience or whatever but I don't really think you should be kicked out, unless you want to leave yourself I guess.
