Although that's probably what you meant by VR training... I'm still used to RPing the grimdark and dirty method.

Also, since the likelihood of running into an uncapped '07 nation these days is zilch, I'm probably going to re-cap my population to 500~700 million.
~Previously, I'd capped it at 4 billion (so right about at the age of URA's main; my uncapped pop is now sitting around 20 billion).

The reason for this is because my military's top-level nomenclature only allows for 3440 divisions (up to ~69% of which is privately owned/funded, only ~690 are capable of being listed as combat regulars, and most of those are conscripts), just shy of 7 million soldiers (including naval personnel).

Yeah, uncapped is always fun though. I still hear legends about the great wars of the before-times when armies of billions would fight against each other.

I capped myself at 1.2-1.3 billion since I figured having over half of Earth's population in my nation is a bit much, lol. I understand where you're coming from with not wanting to deal with 20 billion citizens.

It wasn't exactly pleasant... I have told you the story of how, when my nation was only 3 months old... I got into a war with three nations in the 4-billion population range.

Somehow I won that. Largely by forming a coalition of the willing nubs.

Problem was, since none of those nations were capped, and the coalition was pretty loose... so I made contingency plans... I had to use one.

To be fair, these newer war RPs look a tad more sophisticated.
-I'm also somewhat saddened that I decided to drop the mike when I did that. However, to say I was annoyed upon my return would be an understatement.
(Pretty much, some 1 month old nation decided to try making a hit on my nation's version of Tony Stark/Sgt Johnson while visiting)

So how does everyone feel knowing that when the Coalition was not operating Atlas, we built bigger guns and bigger weapons to help Atlas make bigger booms?

Just so y'know, that contingency-plan involved decapitating the traitor's leadership (we brought their president's head back on a pike), and seizing all their miltary assets (followed by in-situ demolition/use) within 36 hours of their declaration of intent.

It was literally a 48 hour war that wiped an entire nation off the map.

The Noble Giant RP and the current war RP we're doing only tangentially pertain to each other. In this new RP, it's been a couple months since the attack on Noble Giant, and the investigation has followed various threads away from Noble Giant. Noble Giant now only has a skeleton crew maintaining it, plus a couple teams of contractors repairing the helipad. We can do a PW RP along the lines that you suggest, but it won't successfully tie into the ongoing DEN-Hale war.

Biography of Warfighter:

The Hale Isles Special Operations Group was created for a fairly ignoble but common purpose: the government wanted to mess in other nations’ affairs. Following The Disengagement of 1984 when Congreveopia granted total autonomy to the Hale Isles, the Hale Isles Armed Forces were left with a disorganized militia, outdated equipment, and a treaty of protection with Congreveopia that would expire in five years. The government, not willing to bet their newfound freedom solely on being able to rebuild the military in five years, quickly entered into the WA for protection. Three years down the line, and with the security council breathing down Hale Isles’s neck to contribute forces, the Hale Isles Special Operations Group was created to provide the government with a force that could be deployed to distant wars without drawing units from the main branches of the still-weakened military. It has since expanded into several roles with units designed to perform tasks ranging from counter-terrorism to elite maritime combat. At heart, though, the group is still designed as soldiers ready for deployment to anywhere on the globe, to fight any opponent. As such, the group has seen by far the most action of any branch of the military, and receives the latest weapons and tech from the government; firstly because they need it most, and secondly because they allow it to be field-tested quickly and under extreme conditions.
