Er...might be getting the two mixed up... either way, the Spetznaz record for hostage rescue isn't very good... the other stuff, grade A... but hostage rescue? Please send Delta instead, even with the the Iranian mishap (helicopter problems anyway, not Delta problem).

Why would they divide one team when we have so many teams already? Doesn't make much sense.

You are indeed.

Shock troops specialized in penetrating enemy lines and hitting vulnerable enemy positions. They aren't really used in modern times, since most militaries have realized that shock troops were doing nothing that well-trained infantry can't do. So if you're training your normal troops correctly, shock troops can be replaced with light or airborne infantry.

Though it should be noted that historically, stormtroops and shock troops are virtually the same term and the same idea. Stormtroops are just the Germanized term for the troops that would run into enemy lines and cause as much damage as possible.
