Yep. Well, true. I hear the SOWTs are always super-fit.

I'm looking to get into the Navy though after High School and College (still a few years left on both), and hopefully into fixed-wing Naval Aviation (P-8s, C-2s, E-2s, Growlers, Super Hornets, and the Lightnings). That's going to be a bear, but I'm currently being asked to go to the Sea Cadets' Flight School in Miramar, so that'll be interesting and hopefully help.

JTAC (Joint Terminal Attack Controller)

They're all Air Force Special Operations positions.

You know what you can do if TACP doesn't work out? Do what I did. Check out 13F, Fire Support Specialist... Calling for artillery. It is a satisfying job. I can tell you stories. Why go 13F? Promotion points. You can make SGT quick. Then you'll be an FO. The role has a lot of freedom because when you are pushed to an infantry platoon, you are an independent element.

There is a program called Joint Fires Observer where you will learn how to call in CAS from all the branches, and you'll practice Naval Gunfire. If you do, try to go to the course at Fort Sill.

But yeah, the Air Force is the way to go. The JTACs I've met always seemed happy. But 13F is not a bad way to go.

Fort Sill, yeah. No, I can't do that one again. That was not fun. At all. I'm not even in the Army and I can tell you that placed sucked.

Lawton was not exactly a city of many things to do either.

But yeah, 13F is a pretty good position. My Dad was signal and did a lot of work with the 13Fs regarding their Comms.

I've also wanted to be what they now call the Special Missions Aviator, but that'd need me to be a crew chief first more likely than not.

Yeah 13F works with signal a lot. The JFO course at Lawton is only 2 weeks, so it's not that bad. Plus you get to stay in basically a hotel on base. It's nice. Plus you'll be able to focus on the course.

Hurtful, you may post however you wish. Your guys can prep for the strike by getting into the helicopters, or getting loaded up while I work on the actual "bring the rain" post. In fact I recommend all the 'reinforcements' post a preparation post.

Sometimes the support team replaces all their underbarrel grenade-launchers with a GMG, or a HMG, or a minigun on a truck.
