Quick Update on My Status:

So my life is getting really, really weird. I know alot of you are pissed off that I've been gone (or not, haven't read anything. First time on NS in a while) You'll see me playing on Steam everyonce in a while but I'm mostly collecting reference for another project as explained below. So let's get some bullet points down;

- Where the Hell have you been, Mr "Project Warfighter means Alot to Me" ?

Training. I'm joining the Navy within a few months - year; SEAL Contract. It is so bloody difficult getting my body ready for it. Like, so damn bloody difficult. I've never seen or swallowed so much water. Oh god. Why. Anyways, physical things have taken priority in life, and I only have so much free time where I'm still a coherent human being to do things I'm passionate about.

- Project? Project Warfighter isn't enough?

I never abandoned Project Warfighter. Tis my baby. I just left NS for a while.

- What's with the Steam Time racking up?

Collecting Reference pics mostly. You'd be surprised how many better pics you can get from in game models for in game models. Thanks to plenty of ref-viewers. Also free time, because it's easier to do something you don't need to think about after spending a day doing things you have to think about lel.

- Dafuq are you talking about?

What do Project Warfighter and the Unity (Or Unreal, if I get a new comp) Game Engine have in common?

So, I'm not dead. I've felt like it many times in the past few weeks but rest assured I'm not. There's going to be surprises in the future regarding Task Force Atlas and Project Warfighter! Hope you all like Generic FPS's!

ah okay. My concern was just how my unit will insert themselves into the role play...

Well, the idea in Banished Throne is that the nation in question was taken over in a coup. The nation had a kind of deal worked out with Task Force Atlas, where there was a base that TFA used in the nation. The new dictator and his regime don't like that idea since it's international snooping, so they move on the base.

Your unit may be on the base on a rotational training assignment(something that would happen when not deployed) or you may be moved in as reinforcements of who's already present at the beginning of the mess, since Task Force Atlas would be moving troops into the area when the coup starts, but they wouldn't do much else besides wait and watch until they're attacked.

With MAKO 1 being 14 men strong I don't mind being already there defending the base.

2:30am Update from URA, Daily Log... Oak:

- I can tell it's 2:30, because I nearly wrote my real name. Pfft.

- Everyone working out where they are, just keep doing that. It works. Just keep in mind what Arkana and I have mentioned so far.

- Glad to see Emmy is back. The "project" he mentioned is something he's been talking about for months and months. He's working on creating a FPS with the in-game characters being our troops. He originally came up with this back when basically the Veterans were all that made up the task force, so I'm wondering if he knows we have 4-5x as many applied teams.

- July 4th Weekend starts tomorrow. I'm a lifeguard at a campgrounds/park. I'm sure you can do the math. I'll be online at night. Just don't expect me to be coherent or proactive. Hopefully, Ark and I can get Banished Throne together.

- With Van's help, we made the OP prettier. Enjoy looking at its slightly phallic shape.

- Umm... Not much else.

I know you're newish to PW, so I'll just explain it. Task Force Atlas is supposed to be a standalone organization, that way it can be a buffer between nations that may not want to be involved otherwise. It's a living plasubile deniability unit.

Because of that, all assets and support given to the units on the ground are permanently attached ot Task Force Atlas, and are fully taken from their host nations and moved to the TF's command.

ICly, this makes surprisngly good sense. OOCly, it was done because of the issue of runaway assets in Legion.

Their are a few exceptions to this, but carrier groups and air wings are not those exceptions.

NOTE: And no, I do not have a detailed list of the TF's assets and support units. Mostly because it needs to probably be fleshed out, but it hasn't. Granted, it really probably doesn't have to be, so long as we together agree on assets being used and it's done realistically and sparringly, since this is a Warfighter thread, not a carrier group or armored regiment thread.

I'll be trying out for Air Force TACP by next year. If I can't do that, I'll be EOD.

You know what you can do if TACP doesn't work out? Do what I did. Check out 13F, Fire Support Specialist... Calling for artillery. It is a satisfying job. I can tell you stories. Why go 13F? Promotion points. You can make SGT quick. Then you'll be an FO. The role has a lot of freedom because when you are pushed to an infantry platoon, you are an independent element.

There is a program called Joint Fires Observer where you will learn how to call in CAS from all the branches, and you'll practice Naval Gunfire. If you do, try to go to the course at Fort Sill.

But yeah, the Air Force is the way to go. The JTACs I've met always seemed happy. But 13F is not a bad way to go.

Fort Sill, yeah. No, I can't do that one again. That was not fun. At all. I'm not even in the Army and I can tell you that placed sucked.

Lawton was not exactly a city of many things to do either.

But yeah, 13F is a pretty good position. My Dad was signal and did a lot of work with the 13Fs regarding their Comms.
