Honestly, if I didn't use SOG Hellspawn, I would certainly use the Ontorisan Ranger regiments. Their performance in Cauja (specifically the 73rd's) was spectacular, holding out in the siege of Caujasburg until friendly reinforcements could relieve them.

Regarding the Region; Sure. Everyone is welcome. I suggest you join our forums, so you can actually interact with us though. ALSO IRONIC: My friend started Atlas, and wants me to go, but there's a particular nation there that would cause me some pretty big troubles. Otherwise I'd be there.

As for PW; I have a draft of some operations we could do.

Anyone ever heard of Neon Genesis Evangelion? The anime about mechs and kids piloting them? What if we had something SIMILAR to them. I know ATLAS is a Teir one unit, but what if we started to turn it into something like NERV, with representatives or actual members dedicated to the unit?

Oh durr.

Well, the reason I came up with the idea is I was looking for an AI for my country (cus all you basterds have 'em), and I remembered the Magi from NGE, and I was thinking about the anime and the AI and remembered, why not have a group like that?

Just like how NERV came from the UN, we could make a group coming from ATLAS. Make that one secret, but make it permemantly stationed somewhere. With it's own groups.

Why does everyone need an AI? Nexus is a curiosity, not how all nations should operate, darnit! :p

Seriously, though, Nexus was a moonshot and it happened to work out about as well as could be hoped, but I still think my nation is weaker for having so much invested in him. Even failing to consider how damaging it would be to lose him, we probably won't see an economic benefit that overrides the cost until late in the 2030s, and the military could take half a century to recover.

See, I don't want an AI for that reason. See, I have more... Different reasons. Having an AI like Nexus that could, potentially, defend itself from attacks would be beneficial. I'd implant some personalities to conflict, and give it sufficient learning techniques so as to reaquire resources to defend itself in case of attack. Implanted in EVERY base, it would work more as an intelligence and last resort than anything. With three redundant bases to decide on the best course of action, it's AI would allow the military to analyze data lightning quick. In other words, nothing would happen that I wouldn't know about.

"Multiple conflicting personalities to make decisions" is one of those things that sounds like it makes sense on paper, but is kinda tricky to defend. I mean, giving Nexus any personalty is an ongoing struggle, and even if he could come up with a diverse array of personalities, why would he do anything other than go with whatever decision has the best predicted outcomes. He doesn't need different personalities to come up with various ideas for how to solve a problem, just different problem solving algorithms or one very thorough algorithm (or, as is actually the case, a hybrid).

The different personalities would be the determining factor in what options he chooses. Should he get three options, and be... Aggressive, he certainly won't care about casualties, will he? Personalities are not just for conversation. They are a part of his AI; it allows him to personally prioritize operations, calcularions, and anything else for his multiple CPUs.

Yes, but it only makes sense from a human perspective to consider personalities. With an AI, a personality will just be a bunch of variables for things like aggressiveness, humor, laziness, etc. At that point, it becomes inefficient to group them into a finite number of personalities. It's just as easy to begin making any decision with say fifty personalities evenly distributed across the traits, then see which does best and make the decision again with fifty new ones similar to the most successful option until you figure out the best personality to solve a problem. This is the main reason that Nexus not only behaves differently around different people, but even goes so far as to be different genders around different people.

Remember that Task Force Atlas is based off of the actual Task Force Atlas from Medal of Honor. We're trying to stick to that as much as possible with liberties here and there to fit our NS nations.
