OTOH, Hello, everyone. I've been kind of exhausted today, so sorry for being gone. My roomie dropped acid last night and kept me up as a consequence. I apparently was teleported back to 1969 halfway through the night and I woke up back in 2015 again. I think I left my roomie at Woodstock, though.

What I don't understand is, if you have a good system/object/tech/gun, why give it to only one person?

Weight, mostly. It's the same reason they don't give every soldier in the US Army a MANPADS, an AT rocket launcher, a Browning M2, and 50,000 rounds of ammunition - sure, that equipment might allow any given soldier to do a lot of damage to any armor, infantry, or air target he manages to shoot, but it's also going to weigh several hundred pounds and be bulkier than the guy carrying it. Soldiers have to specialize because there's only so much equipment one person can reasonably carry and use.

Using any piece of equipment also requires training; you could, hypothetically, try to train every soldier up to proficiency with every single piece of equipment in your arsenal, but it would take a really long time, and there's just so many different things that they would have to know that you're bound to have someone forget something at the worst possible time. Far better to have people specialize and know how to do a few things extremely well, instead of trying to teach everyone how to do everything and have them all be equally terrible at it.

If you give one man better weapons and armor and camo, why not give the same to all? I understand specialities, but to a point. Me? Every man in the field is given the same armor, camo, etc. But from there, it changes only slightly.

So, in other words, you still specialize.

In the URA, the only real difference between Sentinels, Vanguard, and the regulars is Sentinels operate in smaller strategic and tactical units and are better trained. They may use newer weapons, and they generally have optical cloaking(disabled for this RP), but that's it. They have the same armor. The Vanguard of course, have the insanely effective and insanely expensive power armor that regulars just can't have. The most a regular can get is exoskeletal-enhanced body armor, and those are the guys who will probably be a Vanguard in 2-5 years.
