Postby Prusko » Sat Dec 13, 2014 4:30 pm

*In Prussia November 24th 1917 5:01 PM*

While sitting in his throne Kaiser Wilhelm II thinks about Prussia and what it has accomplished through out his fathers rule and in to his own. I can't believe that I have been in power for 3 years already, time really goes by fast. Just before he could continue, the door to his throne room opened. Two esteemed gentleman entered the room. Hello Prince Charles II, what brings the Hapsburg's here? Last time I checked they hated us.

Homecoming

Postby Confederation of imperial states » Sat Dec 13, 2014 6:05 pm

Leonardo stepped into the house, the smell of dust and mold fill the air, though the house seemed somewhat well kept. he walked into the living room. their was a haze like dust in the air, the fire place was suprisingly well kept, the furniture looked old but not moldy. leonardo saw his grandfather's rifle above the fire place, they couldn't retrieve it when the great exedous from norway occured. he saw in the far corner of the room, a pine tree. though most of the bristles had fallen off, it still gave him a feeling of his christmas when he was just a boy

[Flashback begins]
Leonardo was suddenly thrust back in time and the house was suddenly fixed and new, he saw the fire place was lit and the tree was living and decorated, "what is happening?" he thought to himself. he was then startled by his Father walking past him and sitting down his lounging chair. an 8 year old leonardo runs past him and sits by the fireplace with his father. "father, do you think santa will make it with all this snow?", "oh, don't you worry yourself Leonardo, the russian winter might be tough, but it can't stop ol' saint nick!". Leonardo wached intently as the two talked by the fire place. his mother leasly walked through the far exit of the living room carrying a record, she put it in th grammaphone and it started playing a nice, soft tune. "i can't wait for santa to come father!". "i can't wait either leo, Oh my, look at the time, you better head upstairs to bed otherwise santa won't come!". "alright, goodnight father". little leonardo gave his father and mother a hug before heading up to bed. his mothr talked to leonardo III after he went upstairs. so how's the talks about creating the confederation" she asked him. leonardo looked distressed "not good, they say if finland leaves it'll mean war, but we should be fine".

[flashback ends]

Leonardo is then thrust back into reality he's standing at the living room dorrway still, but this time he is back in reality and everything is old and wrecked. "keep your head on leonardo, you've got to make it through this, some flashbacks won't stop you". leonardo promptly left the living room and headed upstairs, right for his old bedroom.

Flu struck Setubal

5 days ago, Two trade ships and one transport ship with laborers from China docked in Setubal port in Portugal. Laborers are here to work for UIS in exchange of being tax-free and never return to their homeland again. But the laborers didn't know that they were infected by H1N1 virus from their devastated country. They experience symptoms like cough, fever, etc and only few of them was taken to a hospital unlike the rest were working in the city while struggling in their grave illness.

On present day in Setubal, 700 citizens were infected and 92 died.

The wave of revolution in Southeast Asia continues to sweep the sultans out of their thrones and usher in the reign of democracy.

The sultanate of Java has crumbled before the might of its people.

The rebels have petitioned for Java to join the Commonwealth of Rajahdesu. The Rajah had accepted, as has the Council, albeit by a slim margin of votes.

Java has been incorporated into the Kingdom of Rajahdesu.

Population is now: 59,000,000

OOC: A mix of 1917 and 1903. Had to base the population off several different sources, but I can assure you it is accurate, if not lower than the population of the region at the time. Is this approved?

OOC: Sounds more realistic, so long as if you aren't counting Java, which was the claim I made in the original post. Java had a population of around 28 million in 1900. Coupled with it's high population growth, it'd be a couple million higher by 1917.

Terrorism In Tula

After the Attilian surrender many thought that things in Tula would be safer and calmer, however Communist terror attacks continued throughout the country and guerilla cells began popping up across Tula as Bolsheviks led by Joseph Stalin began a bloody campaign against the Tulan people. Hundreds of civilians and soldiers were beginning to be killed on a weekly basis and some people have began calling for Vladimir Tula's resignation at his failure to stop these attacks despite the large size of the Tulan military and their edge in technology and resources against their foes. However Vladimir has not yet decided to leave his post as he works desperately to stop these Communists tearing at all that he has built up over the years.

///

Vladimir Tula's Estate

"Vlad." Dmitri Polkan said to announce his presence to his former CO.

An exhausted Vladimir Tula looked up at his old friend and gave a weak smile from behind his desk in his private study as he said "Dmitri...how nice to see you. Is there something wrong?"

"No...nothing but the damn Bolsheviks refusing to accept defeat. Arisha's been doing her best but these guerillas are proving hard to pin down and destroy. We get a few cells a month but more spring up. It's...madness really. They just keep fighting against us, dying in droves yet still coming back for more. Our troops' morale is going down though, the smart cells are hitting us where it hurts, where we're weakest. Some cells are only targeting civilian targets...it's getting bad." Dmitri replied.

"And let me guess. I'm responsible for these failures, I should resign because it takes a long time to stop guerillas and no one has the damn patience it takes to fight them." Vladimir asked sarcastically.

"No...quite the contrary I think you're our best hope at stopping these bastards. But you're not going to stay that way if you don't take better care of yourself. Ever since that assassination attempt you've been different Vladimir...what happened? You've been under fire dozens of times during the Revolution, your not easily changed by people trying to kill you." Dmitri replied.

Vladimir was silent a few moments before replying "The civilian that was killed...she was...my mother. I buried her four days after, I've managed to keep it a secret though. No need for people to know that...nor should they know that my youngest sister is currently a captive of the Bolsheviks."

Dmitri was shocked at the news "I-I'm sorry Vladimir. I didn't know. What about Svetlana...is she...gone as well?"

Vladimir shook his head and replied "No...no I have reason to believe she's out of their grasp in the Vaelgracht Empire. I've composed a message for Emperor Mikhail I...hopefully he can help me find her and keep her safe...but despite my best attempts I can't find Alexandria...she's in their hands but there's not a trace of her existence among any of the raided Bolshevik hideouts and none of the few prisoners we've managed to take know anything about her either."

"I'm sorry Vladimir...but we'll find her soon I'm sure. Wherever these cowards have hid her we'll find...they cannot escape Tulan justice." Dmitri stated with conviction.

Vladimir sighed and gave a weak smile as he replied "Thank you for that...but the Bolsheviks aren't the only problem to Tulan security."

Dmitri nodded "We're thinking the same thing aren't we?"

"Ismeil's alarming expansion?" Vladimir asked.

Dmitri nodded and earned another sigh from Vladimir as Dmitri explained "They're getting too big...too powerful...they threaten us as the biggest superpower within the G&S Pact. Not to mention they have Casus Belli against us in terms that we already hold Muslim lands and seek to take two rouge states with Muslim populations within them. It's only a matter of time before Ismeil decides they have enough manpower to take us on...and they might if we don't work to curb them at a key point."

"What key point?" Vladimir asked.

"East Asia." Dmitri replied before explaining "If we stop them from expanding eastward and take East Asia for ourselves then no one could rival us. We'd have the manpower, the resources, and the strategic locations needed to keep Ismeil in check. We need to push them away from East Asia, keep them focused on Africa, away from us and into a land of blood and toil. We do that and we should buy ourselves everything we need to make sure Ismeil will be in no position to harm us."

"While I am concerned about Ismeil's rapid expansion what makes them our enemy again? I know we have Muslims but most nations on this planet if not all of them have at least some Muslim within their lands...wouldn't that require Ismeil to conquer the whole world?"

"Sir...the areas we have and are targeting have large concentrations of Muslims within them...Ismeil will come knocking on our door if we don't do anything about them. Not to mention Ismeil's extremely anti-democratic attitude even towards its own citizens...they're ideological opposites of us, Vlad...we can't trust them. And they will back stab us when we give them the chance." Dmitri explained.

Vladimir nodded and replied "I'll send a letter to Ismeil then...hopefully they'll take it well. We're allies still, hopefully they'll see our moving into East Asia as a good thing for the Glory and Steel Pact."

///

Letter from Executive Vladimir Tula to Emperor Mikhail I:

Dear Mikhail,

I hope you're doing well, things in Tula are not as well as I'd hope...as I'm sure you know. It's because of this that I send you this letter, there is an extremely high possibility that a person of extreme interest to the Confederacy is currently hiding in your Capitol itself. I do not know what her name is, nor do I know where exactly she may be, but her safety is of upmost importance to the Confederacy of Independent States of Tula. Along with this letter is a picture of the woman in question, it should still be accurate today...if you could have your police or some other agency under your control find her please put her into protective custody immediately and keep her safe from any possible Bolsheviks within your nation's borders. Thank you for this, this favor would mean very much to me.

Sincerely,
Vladimir

Dispatch from the Confederacy of Independent States of Tula to the Sultanate of Ismeil:

Dear Sultan Osman,

I congratulate you on your recent expansions with the former lands of Attilia. However I must send you this request as a friend and ally of your nation. Do not expand any further Eastward, East Asia is under the protection of the Confederacy of Independent States of Tula and we would look favorably towards Ismeil focusing on cementing it's hold on the Arabian Peninsula, the African territories agreed to you, the Spanish territories agreed to you, and the Balkan territories agreed to you via agreements within the G&S Pact. I hope you do not take this as a hostile message, this is merely a letter kindly asking that for future cooperation and companionship Ismeil respect the fact that East Asia is hereby a protected interest of the Confederacy of Independent States of Tula. Thank you for your understanding and patience my friend.

Sincerely,
Executive Vladimir Tula

Dear Vladimir Tula

The People's Assembly would love to join the G&S Pact. In fact, we could hand over Alaska right away as it has not much value. This is such an honor to be apart of the G&S Pact.

Dear President Mason Ross,

You are very kind President Ross, we Tulans will not forget this kindness and should Scotatrova or you yourself ever require a favor from the Confederacy in the future please do not hesitate to ask. I humbly accept your offer and I look forward to working towards a better future with your glorious nation. Welcome to the Glory and Steel Pact, Comrade.

P.S. I am having a few schematics of the Glory & Steel Tank Project sent to you as these schematics are now available to your nation due to your membership status. Several other designs are being created in Tula as we speak and I will ensure that they be sent to your nation as well.

The March Men Part 1

Postby Pasture » Sun Dec 14, 2014 10:47 pm

*Monad Central Station, Monad, capital of Pasture*

March 3, 1917.

A short line of state-approved reporters waited at the wrought iron gates to the Shepherds personal platform. When the railroads of Pasture were extended, so too were the privileges of the Shepherds. Hence why a gilded wing of the station lay on the other side of a gate from the masses that thronged the railroad hub every day. Today especially, the station was jammed with people, albeit today the crowd was composed of sightseers rather than commuters. The reporters, nervous men in fashionable suits, gripped their briefcases and sweated furiously under their fedoras as the the Shepherd's attendants stepped aside, allowing them to enter.

The journalists walked single file across the marble platform towards the luxury coach car that carried the man they had been appointed to interview: First Shepherd, Simon Andros. Each reporter raptly committed their scripts to memory as they waited. The procession of reporters was herded into the train car three by three by the attendants. Near the back, a lanky man with long black hair, named Salvador, kept checking his pocket watch.

The line shortened quickly, and soon it was Salvador's turn. The white coated attendants pushed the last of the journalists onto the train, and soon they were before the most revered and feared man in Pasture. The Shepherd was a lean, grey man in white woolen robes, perched in an armchair in the center of the carriage. The last three interviewers stood stiffly as the Shepherd scanned the trio and pointed at a stout man shivering under a cheap fedora. As the stout reporter stammered out his questions, the lanky man checked his watch again.

The stout reporter finished his lines, and the Shepherd croaked his answers and waved him out. The next reporter started in a quavering voice that seemed to gain strength as he spoke. Salvador's mind was elsewhere, as he shuffled the the edge of the car, leaving his briefcase against the wall of the car, behind a curtain.

A snap of the Shepherds fingers drew Salvador's attention. The reporter speaking to the Shepherd had apparently misspoken. An attendant lifted his steel can and brought it in an upward arc into the reporters face, shattering his jaw. The remaining attendants gripped their canes and lifted the man from the floor where he had fallen , cradling the ruin of his mouth. As the bloodied man was dragged away howling, the Shepherd motioned to Salvador and smiled.

He said "I'm sorry my child. Those who fail to play their part must be corrected. The day grows short, so I must send you out before the interview."

Salvador nodded and hurried off of the car, making his way across the sparely populated platform. The attendants had their eyes on the "correction" taking place as steel canes lifted and fell over the second to last reporter, so Salvador went unseen as he checked his pocket watch and broke into a trot. He passed the wrought iron gate and the rows of attendants that stood on either side of it. He slowed his pace as he saw the the gilded train start to pull out of the station.

He checked his pocket watch one last time and turned away into the crowd as an explosion ripped through the Shepherd's coach.

The March Revolt has begun.

Homecoming (part 3)

Postby Confederation of imperial states » Mon Dec 15, 2014 12:30 am

Leonardo reached the last step of the stairs and took a look out of the window just a few feet from the stair well. he looked out at the snowy backyard, the snow lightly dropped on the already covered yard, he could still remark all of the outstanding features. he looked and saw the far back tree of the plot, that's where his father helped him learn to shoot a rifle, which would luckily, come in handy later in life.

leonardo then turned to the door to his left, that room had ben his resting place for over 9 years, he hadn't stepped in it since they moved to the emperors house. he walked up to the door and turned the knob. he walked into the room, a thick layer of dust covered the room. he looked at the emptied dressers and wardrobe, but most of his belongings as a lad were still there. he walked up to his desk, this piece of furniture was outstanding to the others in the house seeing as this was were his father first told him he was becoming emperor.

[flashback begins]
a 19 year old leonardo sits at his desk, reading a novel. his father burst in th rooms and runs up to leonardo. "Father, are you alright?". "we DID IT leonardo!, finland, norway and the others are forming a Confederation, YOUR FATHERS BECOMING AN EMPEROR!" his father said laughing with glee jumping up and down. "FATHER THAT'S GREAT!" leonardo said jumping fom his chair to his father. the two celebrated their sucess, as the future looked bright for the nations of new scandinavia.
[Flashback ends]

leonardo found himself sitting forward on his old desk chair, trying to hold back the depression he felt. he sat in the darkened room, the only light illuminated by the moonlight through the window. he pulled himself together and stood up from the chair. he walked out of the room, closing the door behind him. he looked at the end of the hall, his parents room. he walked down the hall and opened the door, the master bedroom was big, with a large bed, a desk, and a ew dressers to boote. leonardo went to his fathers old desk, as a child the chair was a big as a horse to him, now he fit in it comfortably. he opened the desk drawer and started flipping through the files until he found an interesting file. he looked at the file with confusion, but confusion turned into stunned, he read the title. "finnish adoption agency, letter of concent. we thank you comissioner leonardo witt III, for giving your baby daughter to the adoption agency. we unserstand that times may be tough, but she will find a home. sincerely, lance hemsworth". he sat there with a deadpan face fo a few minutes. leonardo had a sister that his father gave away, why?, he didn't think he got up from the chair and was about to make his way out of the room when he heard footsteps. the were light but strangely heavy, and they were on the second floor and getting closer. leonardo brandished his pistol and placed himself right at the doorways edge. the figure walked in and he unhesitantly pushed the fifure against the wall putting his pistol under the person's throat.

"SIR?!?" it was elisa, and once leonardo realised he promtly let her go and holstered his pistol. "jaysus elisa...." leonardo said leaning against the wall, "captain, what are you even here for?". the captain cleared her throat before talking, "the CIS saw you were going back to finland with no bodyguards. so they took the liberty of sending me to finland to give you some needed protection". "i wanted to come here alone but considering what i just found out i'll need your help" leonardo said pulling out the adoption document. he showed elisa who was equally stunned. "we need to get to that aodoption center immediatley, do you have a vehicle?", "yes sir, i have a car just outside". "alright then, lets go find my sister" leonardo said before walking out of the room with their captain.

Outbreak in Portugal

Mostly Portuguese didn't know about the disease so they ignored the ones who experience cough, runny nose, chills, fevers and other flu symptoms. They thought that it was just a common cold but it was not. 1,000+ cases were identified in Portugal mostly in Setubal. Doctors in Setubal Hospital cannot find a medicine to treat it so now the Chinese laborers start to die. 43 died. This cause a panic in small port city of Setubal.

Many residents moved to Lisbon as well as the infected ones. This introduced the deadly disease there which it quickly spreads. 300+ cases was identified in Lisbon.

Spanish Red Cross provide mask to all Iberian population to prevent the disease while finding a cure.
