Known as the 'Lancer' by its developers, this 'tank' (as it's been called) is a fearsome sight indeed. With armour that is near invulnerable to small arms fire and a series of deadly weapons (which have not yet been declassified), this beast of a war machine is capable of a top speed of 16 kilometers per hour when travelling over solid ground and 12 kilometers per hour when travelling off-road. Around seventy of these machines are rumoured to already be under construction and completed by early 1917 (at a cost which has so far been withheld).
It is unknown what the cause of President Oswald's rapid backtrack on his stance regarding the armed forces but it will undoubtedly hurt his public opinion rating as election time approaches in mid 1916...

Images are getting funny, everyone invented the MK1 here.
The link above gives you some more images, for varieties sake.

OOC: Thanks. It was starting to get a little too similar...
DEFCON 1 - Maximum readiness
DEFCON 2 - Next step to nuclear war/Armed Forces ready to deploy and engage in less than 6 hours
DEFCON 3 - Increase in force readiness above that required for normal readiness/Air Force ready to mobilize in 15 minutes
>DEFCON 4< - Above normal readiness
DEFCON 5 - Lowest state of readiness/Normal readiness

OOC:by 1918 3 different nations had all made at least 4 different tanks. I can find images.
I guess the MK1 was the most recognizable tank. Although sadly enough the later models of the Renault French tank out-classed it massively in everything but firepower.

Telegram from Reykjavik
To: All members of the Glory and Steel Pact.
After several long months of designing and planning, and with the inclusion of the recent innovations of other Pact members, the Vahnite Department of Research and Development has declared that Vahn's version of the "Mobile water tank" has reached the late prototype stage. Now dubbed "Hjaalmrarch", the vehicle will now begin its final set of field tests before manufacture. All member nations of the Pact are invited to see the prototype in action during the tests. Hjaalmarch is expected to be finished and in production in late 1916. If your nation requests to have a representive to witness the field tests, you must send a telegram.

OOC: This will be more intersting the more people send representitives. I plan on leaving parts of it opened ended (similar to Wilhelms funeral). We'll see how it goes. MUST be a Pact member to send a representative.
Specs for the tank will be coming when it hits production.

Vahn wrote:[Excerpt from Vahnite newspaper]

Bazian Government Collapses! Formerly United Kingdoms Split.

The isolationist nation of Bazio has been quiet for the past several years, but apparently this silence masked a tumultuous sectional conflict between factions of the Bazian government. Earlier this week the kingdoms of Scotland and Wales declared themselves separate from Bazio, while Northern Ireland declared that the armed border between it and the rest of the island would be dissolved. In Northern Ireland, tens of thousands of Irish from the Irish province of Vahn swarmed over the former border and reunited with those trapped on the other side of the closed border. Meanwhile, prominent figures and captains of industry in both Scotland and Wales are petitioning for entry into the Democratic States of Vahn. What remains of the lost Bazian government has been overthrown and has been replaced with a provisional government in England. The leaders of England's provisional government are requesting integration into Prusko. The Premier of Vahn has expressed his desire to grant the former kingdoms state status and integrate them into Vahn. He also intends to let the government of England pursue its entry into Prusko without interference...

OOC: As Prusko's puppet, I formally request that Vahn be permitted to annex Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales as part of my weekly claim (last annexation was exactly 1 week ago, I've made sure of this). I'll leave England to Prusko. Does his Prusko permit this?

Telegram from Reykjavik
The Premier Congress of Vahn has passed resolutions to incorporate Northern Ireland and Scotland into The Democratic States of Vahn. Northern Ireland will be incorporated into Ireland as part of that province, while Scotland will become its own province of Vahn. The Premier of War has been dispatched to Scotland to assist in the formation of a national guard force meeting the standards of the Vahnite military. All recently annexed regions will posses the same rights as any citizen of Vahn, including universal suffrage and the protection of our workers laws. Thank you for reading.

Excerpts from Vahnite newspapers
Following Wales' denial from membership in the Democratic States of Vahn, many captains of industry located in the small kingdom are leaving the country and moving their operations to Ireland. The Vahnite government asserts that it will provide these industries the same tax benefits as any other Vahnite business, and has even offered subsidies to help reestablish these industries in the Irish province of Vahn...

Following the collapse of the Bazian government, all Bazian military forces seem to have withdrawn to England, leaving many regions, such as the Isle of Man, without an effective police force. To combat disorder at the Isle of Man, several Vahnite ships have deployed a small force, tasked with fulfilling constabulary duties on the island. While some view this as temporary measure, there have been rumors that representatives Of the Isle of Man have been petitioning for entry into Vahn. Given the recent measures by the congress for Scotland and North Ireland, these measures are expected to pass.

OOC: Population now at 15,500,000 citizens.

Vienna, Emperor's Palace. Empire of Righteous Swords. 1915

"Thank you, Tibor."

"Of course sir."

Mikhail Vaelgracht winched as he straightened the report. His left arm had been in a sling for the last month or so- thankfully he had been able to dodge his public appearances without arousing too much suspicion- and the annoying and restrictive thing would be coming off soon. He hadn't even realized the would-be assassin had actually managed to stab in in the arm until after he had been properly dispatched. He had then noticed something warm trickling down his arm and then the rather large knife lodged in his upper bicep. Not his happiest memory in office. Thankfully he had taken to keeping a loaded pistol in his desk- the fact that he was surrounded by guards at the time did help the assassin's luck either. Obviously not the greatest of attempts on a ruler's life but it was obviously organized, judging from the way the man yelled about restoring the Hapsburgs before he had been shot several times then cut down by the swords of his guardsmen. It had nevertheless increased his worries- now he had to deal with the small group lobbying for the return of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, along with the various Balkan Nationalist groups, those lobbying for the independence of Hungary, old loyalties to the Hapsburg monarchy in the army, Austrians wanting to merge with Prussia... and of course the Communists. Thankfully for now these groups were rather small, but it worried him that they were becoming so numerous and varied. If any cracks were to appear in the nation's image, or if it were to falter in its patriotism, or other unifying factors...

"Tibor, tell me. Do you know how the Császári Nemzetbiztonsági Nyomozás is coming along?"

"Quite well, sir. We have about a hundred former police officers and we've reconfigured that mess of an intelligence agency we had before. Alfred Redl has been placed in charge of the new organization."

"Splendid. The army reforms are getting along well... The Italian, Austrian and Hungarian armies have been switched over into Common Army Units, about half of our cavalry regiments are either being converted to armoured car brigades or have been retrained as dragoons. Hm... we've yet to acquire most of these armoured cars. What else? Ah, Feldgrau- 'Field Grey', the new uniform colour, and of course, the new Dreadnoughts are competed. What do you think, Friedrich?"

The Field Marshal started, waking up from his deep slumber with a shout and looking around like he was searching for hidden adversaries. Mikhail hid a slight smile. "Sorry to disturb your sleep, Feldmarschall."

"Harrumph. No trouble at all, my liege, no trouble at all... er, what is it you wanted?"

"The military, Friedrich old boy. What do you think of it?"

"Oh! Yes, yes, I knew that. Well for one I doubt the million active troops we have now will be enough to protect us against the marauding madmen out in the world today. No, this militarization needs to go further!"

"Speaking of militarization, would you go ask about ordering enough armoured cars from Tula to tide us over until we can develop our own?"

Friedrich Gustavus Maximillian von Pflanzer-Baltin nodded, saluting, before walking off briskly still talking about troop formations. Tibor Rubin raised an eyebrow. "A bit militaristic, that one."

"He's harmless." Mikhail flipped through the files before closing them. He took out a pen and motioned for Tibor to come closer to him. "Such a marvelous day, isn't it? Perhaps I should go out for a stroll, maybe spar with József for a bit"

Tibor frowned at the way Mikhail's eyes didn't crinkle like they normally did when he smiled. Walking over to the Emperor's desk he noticed Mikhail kept glancing at the guardsmen stationed with their backs to them just outside of the office. Looking down at what he was writing on a notepad, he hesitantly played along. "Er... why yes. Perhaps you could even invite old Friedrich, maybe a nice walk through the gardens will get the hot air out of his head"

"The nobles aren't happy," Mikhail scribbled out on the paper. "Losing too much power. Suspect they will try to move against us at some point."

"What a great idea, Rubin úr. It will do him some good."

Tibor blinked. The Vaelian Slav nobles that made up the upper class... surely they would remain loyal to the Emperor? They had after all supported him in the revolution. Then again, he had noticed an air of discontent among them... Mikhail had been making moves to ensure that the Empire would become democratic at some point. The nobles no longer had much executive power, and many had only really supported the revolution for power and profit. "S-shall I fetch your coat?"

"Yes, please Tibor. And take the rest of the day off. You've been working hard lately."

"Not immediate concern. But stay watchful."

Tibor nodded slowly as Mikhail threw the paper into the fire. "Thank you sir. You're too kind."

"Viszontlátásra, Rubin úr."

Mikhail watched Tibor walk down the long hall that lead up to his desk, lined on both sides by Vaelian Honour Guardsmen. He looked from one line of men to the other before going back to writing.

Western Sahara to become a protectorate of Spain

Western Sahara is a nation near Ismeil and Canary Islands. But recent years, cruel rulers take position and abuse the people which cause a coup d'etat in El Aaiun, capital of the country. This event caught the Spanish attention because new leader of Western Sahara request to become under Spanish rule to make the nation reach its prosperity and both sides agreed. The treaty of Madrid is in effect and was signed by Basilio and Western Saharan leader.

Furthermore anymore accusations that I can't keep my part of the project secure will be seen as a personal insult against not only myself but against my nation as well, I do not like personal insults against my nation. Çelmarin, Capital of Moorwhyne.
House of administration.

2:27PM

Sumal walked into the room and was appalled by what he saw. The administrator's office was completely wrecked.

Sumal Gaest: Looks like a damn monsoon came through here.
Police Officer: Oh just wait, it gets better.

As Sumal walked farther into the building (which was now defiantly the scene of a crime) He came upon the office desks. Sumal had been around death his whole life, but never had he seen such a large innocent group of people, be slaughtered like cattle.

Sumal Gaest: Multiple invaders, probably took them hostage. Poor bastards.

Around Sumal was a scene so gruesome it is hard to describe with words. The workers of the administrator's office, were slumped in a line against the wall. Blood and brains blasted onto the plaster and concrete behind them, 25 dead in total. The Minister of Administration himself was hanging from a second floor rafter. A noose tied tight around his now broken neck.

Sumal Gaest: Have your men been able to find out anything?
Police officer: We have no idea why, how or when it happened. There are no shells no scraps of clothing, or even signs of a fight. The only thing we have, is that the invaders had weapons that fired 7.62 mm rounds.
Sumal Gaest: Great, that narrows it down to about three-fourths of the world! No one saw or heard anything?
Police officer: No sir, there wasn't even anyone on the street from what we can tell.
Sumal Gaest: This can't keep happening. Officer, put your men on high alert. Let not a single soul outside of the medical staff see Garen Brunhile. Not me, not Salan Not the Siwarz Izleky, not even your own men are to guard anything but the windows and entrances of Garen's room Understand?
Police officer: Understood Sir!

"We've been at this for 2 hours now Facist. We can do this all day"
The supporter's anger grows " YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOURE DEALING WITH IMPERIALIST"

"I assure you, you and your little friends will be captured in no time."
"Our leader will CRUSH YOU. He's seen the horrors of the world and knows exactly just how to make this debauchery of a government CRACK"

"Just tell the CIS where your group hides, and we'll give you a nice cushiony cell"
"NEVER I EIL NEVER TELL, YOU CANT MAKE ME CRACK" Leonardo stands up and walks over to the barred window looking out it.

"We believe your friends are out in Zimbabwe. Just tell us where and we won't send in 300,000 troops"
"YOU WILL NEVER FIND THEM NEVER. OUR LEADER WILL NAIL YOU TO THE WALL"

Leonardo gave a heavy sigh. "Oh well it was worth a shot. We're sending In the army. The Facist grew angry and the emperor, with all his force he stood up and push forward on the chains attached to the floor and yelled " our leader is Fredrik jerk, he has stayed within your government even before you left Norway. He will break you and your imperialists, he's a military strategist and he knows how to make you and your government Bend and BREAK". Leonardo looked at the man through the door before he closed it, he turned to the supporter.

"I'd love to see him try" he then promptly slammed the door shut, and walked down the halls.

Dear Vladimir.

We have a new engine to present to you on blueprint forms, we have been testing it for about a month, if you are still using the same engine as before would you like to have this new one? And i thank you for your reinsurance about the spies but we request that you not allow it to happen again, because that would be a big compromise to the whole project between us and other members of the pact.

From: King Wilhelm II

I am sending this telegram to every world leader because, we would like to announce that we are abandoning the idea of a "Kingdom" to become the Prussian Empire, so as of now I am to be known as "Kaiser Wilhelm II" and we still hold dear to our ideas except of a kingdom. We want to also insure Vahn that we still hold the agreements made between us and the pact. We thank the world leaders for reading this telegram that was sent to you.

Dispatch from Vladimir Tula to Kaiser Wilhelm II:

Kaiser Wilhelm II,

Congratulations on your new title. As for the engine in the current model of A7V, the Ismeili model works just well, if you would like to make your own model that is fine but the project's success has been in due mostly to this Ismeili model of engine and I do not wish to set back this project any more than it already is. Furthermore anymore accusations that I can't keep my part of the project secure will be seen as a personal insult against not only myself but against my nation as well, I do not like personal insults against my nation. We are secure, and we are moving on schedule, please I will inform you of anything else that is of concern to you but find it within yourself to respectfully reply next time as well.

Executive Vladimir Tula

To Vladimir Tula,

The CIS has made improvement to the tank prototypes and has made a waterproofing system for a tank model. They have also designed a new engine model to help with crossing trenches. Please use these at you leisure.

Sincerely,
Leonardo Witt the fourth
