The War in Myanmar

"Following the annexation of Siam earlier this year, King Rama VI of Siam had fled to the neighboring state of Burma. The dictator of Burma has refused to expedite the monarch, and has even voiced his condemnation of the annexation. Until very recently, these condemnations were merely empty words. None the less, troop mobilizations have been in effect for the past several weeks; and the Rajahdesi fleet has been seen passing through the Singapore Strait, presumably towards the Andaman Sea. The Rajah has declined to comment on the buildup of troops along the borders of Burma."

Earlier this week, at a speech at the close of ceremony marking formation of the third Rajahdesi High Council, the Rajah announced that Rajahdesu has begun hostilities towards Myanmar, following an attack on Rajahdesi forces stationed near the town of Myawaddy. The skirmish escalated into a full fledged battle over the town. Shortly after the conflict began, Rajahdesi troops along the Burmese border received the order to advance.

The Burmese military, temporarily caught off guard, faltered enough for Rajahdesi infantry to overrun the defense lines near the border, allowing the Rajahdesi army to sweep into southern Myanmar. The Rajahdesi army currently occupies Burmese territory south of the mouth of the Sittang River, with the exception of the cites of Myeik and Mawlamyine. The majority of the Rajahdesi military force in Myanmar is currently preparing to advance further.

The Rajahdesi naval force stationed near the mouth of the Irrawaddy River has established a naval blockade of Myanmar. A small fleet of gunboats and patrol vessels has been dispatched to scout the river.

Further developments in the war with Myanmar will be released as they are reported from the front.

Rajahdesi News Updates on the War in Myanmar

The stalemate at the Sittang River has been broken! Rajahdesi forces had been previously forced to halt at the banks of the Sittang river weeks ago, having met considerable resistance as they tried to cross. Trench lines awaited on the opposite banks where crossing was possible. The two armies battled over the river for weeks, before a small fleet of Rajahdesi gunboats advanced up the river, allowing enough Rajahdesi troops across the river for a foothold to be established on the opposite bank, near the mouth of the river. With a solid foothold in place, the Sumatran Infantry Cord was able to lead a large scale flanking maneuver on entrenched Burmese forces miles to the north. With the Burmese infantry in retreat, the Sumatran Infantry Cord and Javanese Infantry Army were able to advance as far as within 20 miles of Yangoon.

The sieges of Myiek and Mawlamyine have ended with Rajahdesi victory, albeit with heavey casualties on both sides. the southern extension of Burma is effectively under Rajahdesi control.

The war in northern Myanmar has reduced to stalemate along the border, as guerrillas on both sides have rendered advance impossible to both sides.

The scouting fleet of approximately three dozen gunboats has swelled to a full-on seizure of the lower Irrawaddy River, utilizing nearly two hundred gunboats and several shallow-keel cruisers and troop transports. The main body of the flotilla is sweeping up the river, and will deploy troop divisions to flank to main Burmese force and harass supply lines.

Meanwhile, the nations few formidable warships have won against the meager Burmese Royal fleet, and has advanced up the Yangon River towards Yangon. The city is currently under naval bombardment as troops are deployed from troop transports nearby. The siege of Yangon has begun.

Total troop commitment in Myanmar: 2,740,300

More to come...

Why do your tanks destroy the artillery, when your tanks should be destroyed by the artillery? It makes no logical sense?
(Good catch Prusko)

The Paris Conference Part 1

Postby Vahn » Wed Jan 07, 2015 10:59 pm

[Paris, Franco Prussia, early 1918]

Premier Kador of Vahn lay with his head back, staring at the ceiling of the automobile as the motorcade moved through the streets of Paris. Winter was just beginning to break, and the snow that had draped the city was beginning to melt, giving birth to hundreds of small streams. Kador's thoughts drifted back to the vague message that had brought him to the région parisienne for the first time in more than a decade.

Bismark's message had raised matters such as the planned intervention in Norway, future relations with Prussia, and the re-division of land in Britain. The last of these topics had done the most to pique Kador's interest, as well as unnerve him. That line of discussion could bring great prosperity to Vahn, or see the nation dissected and partitioned. Thinking about the latter of the two had sent a dreadful chill down the Premier's spine and caused his hair to stand on end. Thoughts about the former caused only slightly less anxiety. Once the Bazian regime crumbled into disunity, Vahn and Prusko were swift to take what they could. The previous partition had been intended to be temporary, but as the months turned to years, the lines on the map stayed where they had fallen in the weeks after the collapse of the Bazian state.

But apparently, now was the time to thaw the issue and see it settled for good.

Kador jumped slightly as the automobile hit another pothole. He ran his hands through his longish, vaguely graying hair and pushed it back over his head. Going by memory, the meeting place was only a few blocks away. This was confirmed when the driver said, in accented French, that they were almost at the Élysée Palace.

Kador nodded. "Merci, pilote"

A small crowd of curious citizens watched as the motorcade stopped at the gates of the palace. Kador took the time the procession spent idling to compose himself. After a few moments, the gates were open and the cars were entering the palace grounds. The stone facade of the palace was glaringly bright as it reflected the light of the sun. At the foot of the shining facade stood the chancellor himself. Premier Vahl of Vahn adopted his customary stoic expression and slipped out of the car.

As he strode across the courtyard, his thoughts returned to the proposed re-division of Britain. The fate of Vahn's future could very well be hanging by a precarious thread. Whether that thread would be cut or strengthened would be discovered soon.

Kador extended his hand to the chancellor. "Hallo Kanzler"

OOC: Part 2 soon. Inform me of any glaring issues with this post.

The CIS has finally moved the 700,000 men from moorwhyne and leaves 300,000 in a garrison as a support force. 300,000 of these men will head back to the CIS while 400,000 move to japan.

All I keep seeing with these posts is "Oh CIS does this and destroys the enemy with few casualties, CIS victory" ?

That is not a war? you act like the fascists are blind deaf and use spears for weapons? If they are from your country or surrounding ones they would have equipment outdated by maybe 5 years at most?

It's not like I gave you the MAW, although you seem to act like I did.... Your forces in reality would take far more casualties, and some of the "Strategies" your using I could reply to (With it in my favor) Without even having to put much effort into it.

These are a bunch of 2 sentence "I killed facists huraay for me" Godmods...

OOC: Part 2 soon. Inform me of any glaring issues with this post.

[Paris, Franco Prussia, 1918]

Kador watched his advisers bicker among themselves with a barely maintained stoic expression. The conference had proceeded calmly for the first two days, until the Prussian diplomats reached the issue of British partition. After the first rounds of negotiation was over, the chancellor allowed the Vahnite envoy to retire to another wing of the building to discuss the proposals.

Once the door to the room closed, the floodgates opened. The dozen men who had accompanied Kador erupted into vigorous "discussion".

Kador studied the gilded decoration as the diplomats argued, contemplating the offer they had received. Contrary to the Premier's deeper fears, Prussia did not intend to slice territory off of it's subject state. Quite contrary to that notion, Bismark had proposed to cede territory to Vahn, in exchange for small parts of Vahn's current holdings.

A map of the new partition of Britain covered the table that the men were seated at. The formerly blank map was now of mess of barely erased lines, dominated by the final set of borders, the only lines not harassed with erasers. A cleaner version was now in Kador's hands as he analyzed the map.

Image

He dropped the sheet and stroked his beard. The lands between Scotland and the new Prussian Britannia border held some 24 million people. The political ramifications of tripling the voting population was simply staggering. The seat of power within the nation would likely shift from Iceland to Britannia. Even worse, ceding Belfast and Northern Ireland would upset the Irish. Nearly three years of geographic unity, only to have the region ripped away again. Wales would remain with Prusko, as would Wessex. The highlands of Scotland would also switch hands, as would the recently annexed Reunion Island.

Kador settled back in his chair for a moment before knocking on the table. After a few hard raps on the wooden surface, the room was quiet.

The Premier stood and began to speak. "I can tell that you gentlemen are as startled as I am. Whether Bismark aims to secure our trust or is merely trying to offload a administrative nightmare onto us, it matters not. While I am certain in his good will for us, I can tell there are some among us who doubt the notion. I understand your skepticism. To envelope such a massive population would raise political turmoil, unless we take measures to prevent that occurring."

He scanned the expressions that regarded him. Rapt attention, or at least the appearance of it. He continued.

"Vahn has long been a nation bound by pride in the principals on which it is founded: Democracy, freedom, glory, and progress. The ideals that hold a nation such as ours together can, and will, bind our new countrymen in Britain together with the Irish, with the Scots, and with the men and women of Vahn. Grant the new subjects of Vahn full citizenship and recognize their assemblies. Distribute propaganda if you deem it necessary."

The economic adviser who had been selected to come interjected. "We must take into account what this shift will do to out economy. The economy of Iceland will crumble without new protective tax policy and labor policy. If we give incentive for businesses to stay there, Iceland won't slip into backwater decline like some of my peers are predicting. At the same time we must invest in restoring the industry that was allowed to crumble with Bazio."

The economist turned towards Kador. "If we want their loyalty, we must build them to greater heights."

Kador nodded and cast his gaze across the men assembled. "A tremendous future is ahead of Vahn. At this point in time, it is up to us to guide it there."

A knock at the door suddenly stole everyone's attention. A Prussian secretary opened the door. "The gentlemen from Prusko are ready to finalize the negotiation. Are you ready to resume?'

A chorus of agreements. Kador slipped the map into his briefcase. The conference was far from over. Once the conference was over, they had to devise a way to break this news in Vahn, as well as immediately get to arranging for the necessary measures for integrating the new territory. The matter was far from settled...

-There are high concentration amounts of troops along the road from Bulawayo leading to hardware, leavening the southern front fairly un defended
-there is a solid force of 65,000 men and around 50 artillery stationed at gwanda
- the fascists keep many of their caches hidden throughout Zimbabwe, they are located at [REDACTED]. Attacking these locations will insure we cut their supply lines
- the fascists have no navy for Air Force

In response to much testing and deliberation amongst the scientific community in Moorwhyne, our brightest minds have made the latest and greatest version of the MAW to date.

Image

This is a complete rework of the MAW by the Borint brothers arms manufacturing company. The company which for the most part now manufactures Moorwhyne's weapons.

They completely scrapped the idea of a slide through gravity fed clip, in favor for what seemed to work with the semi-automatic rifle they invented for the Somali cord. A simple spring loaded magazine that will push the bullets into the chamber. This is a fully automatic 25 round rifle, the first of it's kind.

Specs below

Weight
4.4 kg (Loaded; 5.2 kg)

Length
1,045 mm

Barrel length
520 mm

Cartridge
6.5×50mmSR

Caliber
6.5 mm

Action
Short recoil operation

Rate of fire
350–400 Rounds/min[1]

Muzzle velocity
2,145 feet per second (654 m/s)[1]

Feed system
25-round detachable box magazine

However the system is very prone to overheating. Field tests show that after around 300 rounds in rapid succession, the gun barrel begins to literally smolder and melt. When fired in short bursts (3-5 rounds) it has a effective range of 500 Meters. However, this is a nice compromise for the Moorwhyneic military, for the weapon is neither to short ranged to be useless in trench combat or to slow firing to be used in close combat. It is the perfect compromise for the military, and weighing in at only 5.2 kg loaded it would make a perfect new standard issue rifle for the marines. However the machinery needed to create the complex firing mechanism is uncommon and in order to manufacture enough rifles in order to rearm the military will take years.

Establishment of the Don-Kuban Union

Postby Don Kuban Union » Fri Jan 09, 2015 5:28 pm

"This glorious moment shall mark the hour at which the Liberation Circle of Don declares its triumph over the Bolshevik rebels! While the Bolsheviks may have brought the Tulan state to it's knees, we remain standing tall."

As the state of Tula crumbled under Bolshevik revolt, Cossack general Petr Krasnov rallied his soldiers, and led them on a campaign to crush the Bolshevik uprising in their lands. After taking a stretch of land, spanning from the Sea of Azov to the Caspian Sea, Krasnov declared the conquered land independent of Tula. The newly independent Don-Kuban Union, headed by Hetman Petr Krasnov and governed from Krasnodar, is just now emerging onto the world stage. While possessing little industry and an army that still relies heavily on elite, but outdated cavalry, the Don-Kuban Union is slated for large scale state driven modernization.

Only time will tell how the new nation fairs...

OOC: This an RPing experiment for me, as I try to RP a World War era Cossack state. Wish me luck. Take it easy on the new guy. I have checked with the admin.

((OOC: Welcome to the RP :D I won't try to conquer you right off the bat, rest assured. But I can't say the same for my allies. I Hope you enjoy your experience here. Your use of cavalry and Cossacks is interesting. The Russian Civil War (1917-1922) was the last major conflict to make effective use of cavalry, and one of the last major cavalry charges took place in WWII. I think you may be able to use cavalry quite effectively., especially in the vast open regions of Russia. Good luck.))

Passage from Vahnite newpaper

A report made by the diplomatic envoy dispatched to Paris has delivered information on the topics under discussion between the heads of Vahnite and Prussian state. The primary issue of the conference has been the revising of Post-Bazian partitions of the British Isles. The previous partition occurred three years ago as a temporary solution to the division of the former state of Bazio.

While the conference is still ongoing, a dispatch detailing the areas affected by the revision has arrived. The regional governments are tasked with informing their citizens whether or not their district is affected by the revision.

The matter of whether or not the states of Vahn will accept the revision will be addressed in an upcoming referendum. It is unknown if the Premier will make a statement regarding the partition when he returns, he is committed to a statement regarding Vahn's commitment to the war brewing in New Austria.
