Alright, CIS is stock piling equipment numbering in the thousands if not half a million. They also have the navy in the northern port, but most of them were being sent away to help ismeil.

Fine, the border is open there isn't any military units close enough to the border to stop an massive invasion. They don't have any bases on the coastal line underneath or above Madagasscar. What else do you want from me?

Telegram to all glory and steel factions.

The Revolutionary army of Moorwhyne requests that you halt all bombardment of Çelmarin. This is damaging more civilians then loyalists.

We are mounting en mass for a full scale infantry assault on the city of Çelmarin tomorrow. Until then we ask that you keep damage to the buildings and civilians minimal.

In other news regarding the war, the Moorwhyneic royal air cord has signed resignation from the loyalist forces. To all Ismeili and CIS pilots you are to disengage Moorwhyneic fighter-bomber wings Immediately.
We have a confirmation that Janos has caught the flu, and Loyalist forces in Aden are retreating or outright switching sides.

Behind northern Yemini siege lines, 1917

11:00

Night settles in, another long period of sleepless hours and deafening artillery bombardments await the Vahnite and Ismeili soldiers. As the guns pound and pound away chunks of Çelmarin it almost becomes a lullaby for the soldiers. But in the sands that the soldiers had advanced over previously there are 2 million desert rats in tunnels, waiting for their time to strike from behind. As they wait for the order, Smg's, rifles, and bombs are checked, rechecked then checked again. This is a suicide mission, none of the men here were making it out alive. Their goal was simple

Kill as many as you could before they got you.

It all happened so quickly, the order, the charge, the chaos. The Ismeili and Vahnite siege lines were a mess of explosions shouting and fighting. The men in the siege lines had no primary directive, they were spread away from their officers. They could only fight, and hope someone was making plans.

Casualty report(Estimates)
Loyalists
157,000 infantry

Ismeil
30 tanks destroyed
40 tanks damaged
300 cars destroyed
14,000 infantry dead
23,000 infantry wounded

Vahn
20 tanks destroyed

10,000 infantry dead
3,000 infantry wounded

an officer wakes leonardo while he is at his desk, "sir we have a situation". leonardo gives off a grumble then says "ugh, again?". our....insurgents, in tanzania, have recieved reports of the communists plans. leonardo rubs his eyes then proceds to continue to listen. "they.....might be planning to take madagascar". fury light up in leonardos eyes, "WHAT?!?!". the officer looks stunned looking around him "SSSSSSSH, we don't know for sure, but since we've bolstered our forces, if they were to try to invade, they wouldn't get far" the officer says reassuringly. leonardo flipped through some papers to his right then asked the commander, "what do we have to prevent any sort of invasion force from getting far". the officer hands leonardo a packet, "newly made tank brigades, mustard gas, mine fields, and.........project nova", leonardo flippe thorugh the packet. h stopped at the last page and said "ah, finally busting that one out, where's it locatd", th officr responded "well, we have 20 of them, 10 of which are on madagascar, the other 10 are in mozambique. if they do try anything, we'll mow them down before they get off the beaches". leoanrdo looked pleased with the preperations and precautions, good, but, where did thy ge this information. "the officer looked stone faced for a second, "the minister of war". leonardo looked almost terrified for a second, "we gave them it so they could execute him, now with him in the grip of the communists....", the officer finished leoanrdo's sentence, "they have our tactics.....".

Spanish Flu Reaches Tarazed!

Postby Tarazed » Tue Dec 23, 2014 6:45 am

Tarazedian News Radio

After the deaths of several dockworkers in Daramonty City who had serviced a ship which had recently arrived from Europe, the Ministry of Health has issued an amber warning nationwide. The men are thought to have died from the Spanish Flu (a pathogen derived from the H1N1 strain) and as such the MoH are reaching out to anyone who had come into contact with any of the deceased men within the past week.
President Oswald has been unavailable to comment, however it is expected that he will cover the issue during his nationwide radio address later today. With the Presidential Elections looming, Oswald's candidacy may depend on how he handles this situation. Join us at 4PM for our in-depth feature analysis of the Spanish Flu during which we will cover the symptoms of the virus, how it spreads and how other nations globally have responded to it...

The CIS had cut off the loyalist troops from their larger forces. in reponse, they try gurille tactics to attack the CIS and damage their larger force. the CIS has prepared for this though and has startd a house search on the City. they send squads into each and every house within their controled section of the city and eliminate attack squadrons where ever they find them. they also search the streets and warehouses for any loyalists and crush any hideouts. this approach has crippled the loyalist foces within the City of aden.

Tarazed, Site 27 - Chemical Warfare Department (TOP SECRET - CLASSIFIED LEVEL OMEGA)

Doctor Jason Stark looked over his notes once more as the final experiment was prepared. The subject at hand was a small sample of thioacetone - a bizarre mixture top-secret of chemicals that Tarazedian scientists had been working on for the past year. Its purpose was to serve as the next generation of non-lethal chemical warfare used by frontline soldiers and its budget was among the highest on the development site.
With an affirmative nod from his coworkers inside the sealed room beyond as they left the mixture in position.
"Right then...are we clear to release the mixture?" Asked one of Jason's assistants as they walked up beside him.
"Yes. Let's get this done..." Was Jason's response as he picked up a nearby pencil and began taking notes, "Stand by to open the tube..."
"Standing by..." Replied another lab-hand as the lights in the chamber dimmed and an alarm sounded.
"Mixture of thioacetone stable...awaiting release command..." a third assistant reported as Jason turned to look through the viewport into the chamber beyond.
"Go for release..."

Mere moments after Jason gave the order, a reeking stench flooded the room as the thioacetone escaped from its container and due to the nature of the chemical, sent several of the lab-hands keeling over in disgust as they sank to their knees and vomited profusely, groaning in pain as they tried to breath in only to retch and vomit once more.

"Okay then..." Jason muttered as he blinked several times, taking a few steps back from the men as he struggled to keep his own lunch down, "Abort test! Abort!" He shouted as he too succumbed to the stench, coughing up vomit as the few lab-hands who were still standing desperately tried to abort the test. Finally succeeding after ten agonizing seconds.
"Fuck..." Jason groaned as he wiped his mouth and grabbed a nearby bottle of water to wash down the taste, "The military's going to love this..."
"Er...Its airborne qualities would be a good place to start..." replied Eric's closest assistant as he steadied himself on a chair, "This room should have been exempt from its effects...however that did not seem to be the case and we have reports of mass vomiting basewide..."
"What!? This is impressive..." Jason muttered as he ushered everyone out of the room, grabbing his notepad on the way out as he shut the door behind them, "Get me General Concliffe on the line,,,"

Ministry of Defense - Station 01 (TOP SECRET - CLASSIFIED LEVEL OMEGA)

"This is...impressive Doctor Stark," Admitted Major General Liam Concliffe as he skimmed over the capabilities of thioacetone - now known only as 'Substance 23NL', "This is the perfect weapon..."
"I uh...thank you Major General," Jason replied as he shifted on the spot, somewhat uncomfortable under the general's unwavering glare, "That's appreciated..."
"You'll be honored for making this breakthrough and receive that agreed grant in your company as compensation for your efforts...a substance with this potential isn't one found in plentiful supply...Remember. Your work here is classified and a cover story will be supplied to you. Dismissed." Concliffe continued as he took a drink of his nearby tea, finishing with a nod to dismiss Jason.
With that Jason gave a simple nod of the head and left Concliffe alone in his office.
"One drop can be smelt from half a kilometer away almost instantly - two hundred meters if deployed in a contained environment. Smell is enough to completely debilitate a combatant as profuse vomiting prevents them from carrying out even simple tasks. Recommended deployment sites: Hostile staging areas before counterattack and enemy cities..." Concliffe read on as the door shut behind Eric, "Finally something we can work with..."

OOC: Substance 23NL (thioacetone) is only available to TARAZEDIAN forces. Allies of Tarazed may receive the development guide of the Substance should they prove to be reliable and trustworthy.

Chaos was the order of the night as Loyalist troops made a bloody mess of the siege line. The troops from Vahn were nearly overwhelmed before they could find defensive positions. Soldiers crouched in foxholes, huddled in trenches, hid in ruins, and dove into craters to give themselves any sort of defense. From these positions, the Vahnite troops withstood the ambush, pouring machine gun fire into the dark around them. Soldiers equipped with flamethrowers for the disposal of deceased flu victims turned their weapons on the ambushing Loyalists, illuminating the battlefield with human torches. Soon, the bloodbath was over.

As the Vahnite men and women on the siege line had spread out to bunker-down in craters, trenches, foxholes, and the like, the suicide bombers were able to take at most a handful of troops with them when they were successful. Most however, focused their attention on the larger Ismeili line, keeping Vahnite casualties relatively low.

Bombing attempts on the main Vahnite camp were hampered when the first few suicide bombers were seen coming out of their tunnels, leading the Vahnite troops to find and collapse most of the tunnels near the camp.

Behind Northern Yemeni siege lines

It was the dead of night. 558,520 troops of the Vaelgrachtmar Expeditionary Force had finally reached the deserts of Yemen via Ismeil railway. Generaloberst Kutkh Jurvael, commander of the Empire's forces in the Northern Yemen front, looked out at the darkening deserts beyond the camp were Vaelgracht troops were pitching tents and unloading their equipment. A faint glow on the horizon seems to indicate the fires blazing in Moorwhyne's capital. Reports indicate forces loyal to the Tyrant are waning, and their air superiority was recently erased by the neutrality of Moorwhyne's Royal Air Cord. His men were eager to have their baptism of fire and have their first engagement with the enemy, which would likely come tomorrow with a mass infantry attack alongside G&S forces and the Revolutionary Army. Victory was in sight.

"Generaloberst! Generaloberst! Jurvael, sir!" The gentle sounds of the night, of men talking and moving about, was broken by the shouting. Jurvael's second in command, Austrian artillery commander Walter von Schloss. He reached the General and spoke rapidly, out of breath.

"Sir, our forward scouts have reported in. Our allies are under attack." Jurvael wordlessly followed von Schloss to the tent that served as a command centre until the engineers had constructed a command bunker. Hurriedly returning the salutes of his commanders he swooped down on the field telephone. After some time he turned to his waiting officers.

"The rats have hidden in tunnels behind the lines of our allies. They are attacking from behind. We will crush them between us and the forward siege lines! Gather the troops, we are going to make an attack!"
---

A single flare traces an arc over the desert sands before bursting into an orb of white fire, illuminating masses of advancing shadows. Italian and Austrian infantry surge forward towards the the area of the fighting before halting at the top of sand dunes just behind the siege lines. Hans, an Austrian private, hurriedly began to set up his machine gun when his friend put a hand on his shoulder.

"Albert, can't you see I'm busy? Help me with the damn machine gu-..." Hans looked up and realized what he had missed in his concentration. The dunes before them were stretched with the decaying flesh of the fallen. Soldiers ventured out one by one to view the carnage, some vomiting into the sand and others recoiling from the smell or choking on remnants of mustard gas floating around the battlefield. Elite guardsmen troops form Vael merely grimaced and marched on. Officers who had experienced warfare before encouraged their men to move forward through the bloody fields, conveniently forgetting to mention that even they had not seen such brutality. From his vantage point atop the dunes, Hans' commanding officer noticed Vahn markings and flags flying above the battered lines ahead. When they reached the lines, they quickly identified themselves as an Austrian regiment of the Vaelgracht Empire.

"Wir sind Österreicher. Sprechen Sie Deutsch? Nein? Albert, Hans, get over here. You speak their language, yes? I need you to function as a translator."

Further down the line, Italian troops were undergoing similar experiences with Ismeili troops. The forces of the Empire had reached the war. The Vaelgracht convoy has arrived in Aden and has begun to unload artillery, tanks, and other equipment as well as 250,000 men to reinforce the G&S forces. A second convoy will arrive in 3 days, carrying more troops.

Aftermath

Postby Vahn » Tue Dec 23, 2014 12:47 pm

Captain Kjeldsen clambered out of the trench he had slept in and surveyed the damage from last night's ambush. The main camps, with their extensive trench lines and makeshift gun placements, had apparently staved off the worst of the attack. The Maxim and Borchint guns of the sentries has made short work of the ambush.

The siege line was a different story. Shredded and charred corpses littered the ground, choking the air with the scent of decay. Scattered across the battlefield were shell shocked Vahnite troops still huddled in foxholes, craters, and trenches. Some had even made cover out to the hulks of destroyed tanks. Half of the Vahnites here were members of the Foreign Intervention Army, and were slightly better off than the men pulled straight from the National Guard Forces of Vahn when it came to dealing with the display of human wreckage around them.

Most, however, were soon seeing their rations for the second time swimming around their boots. Captain Kjeldsen lit a cigarette and started to rouse the men from their foxholes. It was time to form up and prepare for more.

Garen Brunhile's siege camp
Northern Yemen, 1917

3:26PM

"Men! The time has come, to oust the Traitor Janos from the seat of Moorwhyne! I know a lot of you are expecting a motivational speech. Something that gives you a reason to fight! I am sad to say I can't give you motivation, you will have to find it in yourselves to further our cause! You must look past the gore, past the blood on your boots! You must look towards Çelmarin! Towards the families this madman has ripped apart! You must look to the future of Moorwhyne! For you are the men that will shape it!"

I will say only this men!

Fight or die! This countries future is yours to mold!

A'NAG DAH MOORWHYNE!

"HURRAAAAA!"

With this Garen hurried off to see Osman and Leonardo, for what might be the last time. They must plan... Çelmarin won't take itself.

[meanwhile in aden]

a mesanger walks into leonardo's study "sir the loyalists have one more bit of efenses, a few houses, the airport they turned into a military inslallation is unknown but we're making progress, we should be able to break through whatever's lft and secure aden by tomorrow". leonardo looked relieved at this information, "finally, some good news, and we'll be able to mobolize to the rest of moorwhyne and help garen". the messanger gave a cold stare, "sir......garen's going to be charging janos's's force in hopes of capturing him, garen will accompany this force" leonardo looked shocked "alone?", "yes sir, alone". leonardo looked wooried for a second, hen stressed, "if he charges janos's, there's a good chance it will not end well" the messanger said. leonardo stood up from his chair, grabbed his mauser and helmet, then walkd out of the study, the messanger yelled to him in the hall "sir, where are you going". leonardo urned to the messanger and said, "we're busting through this force at aden and giving garen some backup......"

[to be continued......]

The loyalists in Aden had no set defenses? I don't know why you continue to assume they are using conventional warfare tactics when it has been stated over and over again they are using guerilla tactics. They are hiding in random houses striking out at passing soldiers, leaving bombs in the road. Look at what the Taliban are doing in Iraq and apply that to the loyalists. They built no defenses, and why would they? This is far past the age were walls and town fortifications would have been useful.

OOC: oh thats what they're doing, and no it wasn't wall and town fortifications, it was road barricades to try to stop them from advancing. in anycase, i'll change my post

A rallying cry was all that was heard.

The loyalists came marching out of Çelmarin in the hundred-thousands. They had fought hard, and for the wrong side they now realized. As they marched to the siege lines armed and looking highly dangerous Garen was nervous. "Could this be some trick?" He thought. But alas it was not, lone behold the loyalists had decided that this had gone on long enough. This war already had a casualty count of 8 million and they would be dammed if they were going to be a part of it.

So with 5 million of the loyalists now turned true sons of Moorwhyne, Janos's army only numbered at about 1.1 million fanatics.

They were not going to fight fair. And although they had drastically less numbers one thing was clear. This would be a long and bloody fight.

OOC: So the Loyalists in Çelmarin have no set lines. They are scattered in small groups around the city, making it hard for our soldiers to not get flanked or surrounded by loyalists. Bombs, IED's and all manor of traps and diabolical devices have been set up. Some IED's of metal, others simple Grenade bouquet traps. Above, below or straight ahead, our soldiers will be fighting everything from bombs and traps to suicidal loyalists and snipers.

Watch your backs people.
