Secretly, she wasn't a fan of small talk or conversation in general - she tended to conclude that social conventions were downright stupid - not really the best trait for a diplomat. However, her conclusions fluctuated according to whether she was a starry-eyed idealist or a bitter cynic at that particular time.

I must, with great regret, rescind my offers to the lovely Ms. Alice and the others who came as well. Unfortunately this witchhunting is far too absurd for the Archeulandic people to deal with.
