"What do you suppose we do now?" he asks an officer standing next to him.
"Do what we've always planned on doing in war."
He walks over to a board that has multiple strategic drawings and arrows on it, and on the top it reads "Der Super- Blitzkrieg".
"What the hell do you mean by that?"
"It's not that complicated, sir. What we do is send some of the most strongest forces we have immediately, quickly ambush every open position, use air support ALL of the time, make it hit positions the enemy WILL be in, not where they are; however, still hitting enemies where they stand to push them off guard. After we're done meat grinding, we send in the 'dogs' to finish off the ground meat. What I mean by that is, of course, the remaining forces to finish the job. Rinse and repeat, and we have a war finished quickly."
Schröter has a somewhat confused look on his face.
"Could you slow down a little bit and explain it in a simpler way?"
The officer sighs quietly, and says "Okay, listen. We get bad guy from every corner. We go fast and use tough guys. We use sky good guys to help ground good guys always. Hit bad guy future area, but hit now area too. Then send in guys to kill bad guys left. Understand?"
"Do I look like a special needs child to you? I told you to slow down, not spoon feed me apple sauce or some shit."
The officer sighs once again. "We're sending forces as we speak. Please try not to make any strategic failures. Losing this war means losing your throne as well, as sanctions will be high in that event."
The two just remain silent, hoping for the best.

"Morning." Pavel grunted, sitting down and taking a sip of his coffee. In the conference room alongside the Premier sat his cabinet.

"You mentioned an emergency?" He asked. General Belstrad nodded.

"It appears the Maiteans have declared war on Cedoria." He informed the Premier. Pavel lifted an eyebrow.

"Casus beli?" He asked.

"What the capitalists always say before they sack communist nations: To ensure the 'freedom and liberty' of the Cedorians." Belstrad shrugged. Pavel frowned.

"Milanvanzi, release a public statement condemning Maitea for their unprovoked attack on Cedoria. Bring us to DEFCON 3, and send a general alert to all barracks across the nation, I want to be ready if this war escalates." Pavel ordered. Belstrad nodded.

"Shall we also activate coastal defenses around Togia? If the Maiteans drop the hammer on us, it will be hardest there with our fleet in the harbor." He suggested. Pavel nodded.

"Make it so. Minister Helgraf, I want you to begin organizing airdrops over Cedoria. Give the populace foodstuffs, medicine, weapons, and other supplies for sanitation or defense. After all, it's our duty to protect the innocents. Dismissed." Pavel said.

Later that day

Pavel sat down before the news reporter. Olga Khabarova was famous across Pavlostani as a reliable news anchor, and often did work with the Premier.

"Mr. Premier, could you please inform us of your reaction to the recent events in Maitea?" She began, holding a microphone out. Pavel was appearing on most major news stations, and the audio was playing on the radio.

"Yes, Olya. Earlier this day, the Politburo and I received intelligence that the Maiteans have declared war on Cedoria. Such an act of barbarism should be unheard of in this modern world, where nations are putting behind their petty interests for the good others. For this, I condemn Maitea, and I condemn her leader. As of this moment, I am cutting off oil exports to Maitea as a sign of my resolve. I also pledge Pavlostani support to the Cedorian cause." Pavel declared.

"You're going to war for Cedoria?" Khabarova asked, incredulous.

"Nothing so grandiose. I, alongside Ministers Helgraf and Belstrad, am organizing airdrops over Cedoria to deliver supplies to the populace. We won't abandon them in their time of need. To the people of Pavlostani: Do your duties. To the people of Cedoria: Do not panic. And to Emperor Schröter of Maitea: Think on your sins. That is all." Pavel said.

In response to Pavlostani's actions, the Emperor has made it so that all Maitean citizens of Pavlostani descent are to be sent to camps to work to death and support the war effort. The law has been named the 'Labor Act of 2014'.

The Consulate of Syike officially condemns the new laws specifically targeting ethnic Pavlostanis. The Consul and his staff declare that labor death camps on their own are as unethical as they come, and to make matters worse, the Empire of Maitea is already building a roster of exactly who to fill them with. On top of that, the Consulate fails to see the reasoning behind this most vulgar declaration of war upon Cedoria. The Consulate pleas for foreign nations to not lend aid to the aggressive Maiteans, and requests that the Empire ceases its felonious and clearly expansionist foreign policies.

The thirty-five Techis Rangers (Techan elite special forces) finally received their mission.

Captain Will Archer, the highest ranking ranger stood among the other men as the intelligence officer began the briefing.
"As you have been informed, the civil war in Maitea has taken a great turn. The small Rebel force was decimated, but their leader, codename 'Snowball' found sanctuary in Cedoria. We all know the devastation that can occur when the head remains, and Maitea does too. The previous op was to enter Cedorian territory under disguise and eliminate Snowball by any means necessary to end the situation. Now, the op gets a bit more difficult."

Will, like the rest of the Rangers, knew what had occurred, news travelled fast in a small force far from major population centers. Cedoria's actions had bought themselves the full wrath of Maitea and there allies, which Techis had recently joined. The officer continued,
"Techis has a task force ready to defend and possibly assist Maitea, though the change of events will require a vote by the Council. This is where the operation changes. You are to enter Cedoria and retrieve Snowball alive and well, we'll do the rest to make it into an opportunity to deescalate the situation. If Cedoria is ready to give up Snowball, they'll do it before you can get far past the border, so if you get that far don't hesitate."

"Sir," another Ranger asked, "does this mean we're against the war?" The officer paused for a second, finally answering,
"Our stance on the war is not up to grunts like us. We have our orders and we will follow them until told otherwise. Is that understood?"
A chorus of "Sir yes, sir!" was the answer from every person in the room.

The thirty five Rangers are split into three groups. All have cutting edge black market weaponry and equipment, along with unmarked armour containing most standard equipment and technology, though all lacking in anything that would lead back to Techis.

Arrowhead:
Ten Rangers, most specialising in range range weaponry like snipers or mortars. Focused on overhead and support roles, usually not the group up front. Has single helicopter focused on covert speed.
Dagger:
Ten Rangers, focused on stealth ground movement. Has an array of grenades, silenced SMGs, and rifles as well as bulkier night vision equipment. Has the slowest helicopter, but is able to mak regular supply drops and provide air to ground support.

Hammerhead:
15 Rangers, having medium to heavy weaponry. Force tasked with primary objective, they require Arrowhead and Dagger to find them safe paths to take. Has two high speed stealth helicopters to get them through the small opening found in defenses.

All groups are to avoid conflict if possible and not at risk to the mission

This war has been brought onto Cedoria by nobody but themselves. They have insulted our people, supported a government fit for nothing but a mentally challenged dog, and kept our #1 enemy safe in their borders. To liberate the people of this soon-to-be great nation, we must do what we see is necessary. After they make it into the general area of the nation, they plan to push forward while at the same time suppressing their future opponents by sending in the air force to take care of positions ahead of the current. This softens up the enemy's defense while keeping the momentum at the same time. Then, once each side makes it to the capital, they combine and use all the power they have to capture the capital, force the enemy to surrender, and win the war for the Empire.
