Among the participants in the LRF are :
*the Lebanese Communist Party (LCP) grouping 15 000 fighters Scattered all across the country mainly in south lebanon , west beirut and tripoly)
*the Communist Action Organization (CAO) is the maoist faction of the LCP grouping around 5000 full time guerrillas mostly situated in all lebanese rural areas)
* The Progressive Socialist Party (PSP) grouping 10 000 fighters is based in the chouf district controlling most of it , with some fighters also located in beirut and south lebanon.
*the Leftist faction of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party known as the SSNP-People Army (SSNP-PA) grouping 3000 fighters mainly groupped in the koura district of north lebanon with Amioun city as its stronghold.
*Iraqi-led Ba'ath Party branch grouping 2000 fighters active in the bekaa valley.
*al-Mourabitoun (a Nasserist group) and several other minor Nasserist groupings with approximatly 5000 fighters located in west beirut and south lebanon (saida and jezzine)
* Several Palestinian organizations situated in lebanese camps joined the LRF, notably many from the Rejectionist Front. Both the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) With the plfp grouping 2000 fighters and the dflp joining 500 full time militiants.
Most LRF weapons were smuggled from east europe , Libya and mostly from china wich is the main supplier of the Left wing forces.
The Leader of the LRF elected by members of the parties of the coalition was a veteran militiant and high ranking member of the LCP , Commander Joseph "Tokarev" Zgheib , which presented a speech :

"The sectarian violence in lebanon can not continue ! The Great Devils of the east shall be slaughtered by the proletariats of the LRF we declare war on Hezbollah and IS. The Christian fighters which were merely acting in defensive strategies will not be targeted by our militias . At least for now."
At the mean time the 35000 strong LRF began to mobilize primarly in west beirut with the mourabitoun an SSNP-PA Engaging in street battle with islamist militias and were able to gain control over the hamra street in west Beirut.









SLA engaged in heavy combat
