Flag of the Peoples Republic of Roznova
The Christian Republic of Roznova, a socially conservative and theocratic nation has existed under it's catholic regime ever since 1956 when the Army of Christ arose and overthrew the nations previously militarist and atheist government and established the Christian Republic. Despite its apparently devout and staunchly capitalist ways, the iron grasp that both President Makariy Ipati Polzin and the Roznovite Catholic church have held on the nation and its people has steadily been slipping since 2009 when there were pro-communist protests and later riots in the southern cities of Dokysa and Vicadca, the cause of which the Roznovite authorities pin on Bojikamiian PSG agents inciting.
However, the small and isolated protests across the nation began steadily increasing since the beginning of 2014, the communists began taking to arms against the riot police and later the military. These firefights have hit their climax a mere few hours ago when the Roznovite communists held a demonstration outside of the Roznovite Senate building. Such large demonstrations prompted the calling of the Roznovite military to put down the protesters, however instead of backing off and returning home as the soldiers ordered, the communists became agitated and charged forward at the soldiers, killing 60 of the 240 deployed and wounding most of the rest. Shortly afterward the Roznovite communists knocked down the doors of the senate and began to open fire on all inside, including President Polzin, who was executed on the front steps of the Senate. The old Roznovan flag was burned to ash and stamped on, while the new banner rose, one that represented the Roznovite ideology, Belinskyism. A few days afterward, Kostya Belinsky, the leader of the communists who seized control of the capital gave a speech regarding the recent victory of the communists.
"Dearest citizens, today we have taken victory. As I speak the Roznovite Red Army is driving out the horrid bourgeoisie and the catholic oppressors from our nation that have kept us beneath their boots for so long. Comrades, I plan on glorious years ahead of us. The industrial workers whom daily work in near-slavery conditions shall be given fair compensation and better working conditions, the farmers will no longer be held at gunpoint to work to their deaths, and no longer will the masses suffer at the hand of the elite! People of Roznova, today we have overcome! Glory to Roznova and her people!"
However, as Kostya's speech went on, the catholics and bourgeoisie were indeed being chased out by the Roznovite Red Army. In the far-eastern cities of Skezmavske, Berezny and Detva the Roznovite Catholic church, along with troop regiments that defected to the counter-revolutionary cause seized these cities and declared themselves the Christian Republic of Roznova once more, and the Belinskyite government as illegitimate. Civil war is looming in Roznova, and the fate of the entire nation is resting on this possible civil war.
