Sython

The storm has lessened, allowing aircraft to once again strike at the battlefield. The Uitlander air force has been withdrawn from the skies above the city and an AA “free-fire” zone has been created.

Imperial Air Force heavy bombers have been pounding the enemy in Ooitspaad. In close coordination with the UIR ground forces, the field of rubble that was once Ooitispaad has almost been cleared, save for militia troops who are refusing all calls to surrender.

The Uitland Coalition’s 77th and 62nd regiments are falling back. The 77th has taken up new positions across the Talmar. The 62nd has been all but destroyed. It’s remnants are fleeing back, deeper into UC territory.

The UC reinforcements en route to Sython have been halted at the Iceholm Line, a formidable series of fixed defences, minefields, and trenches covered by the guns of the huge Fort Deimos, which looms above them on the slopes of Lysan Mountain.

The Bolsom radio tower has been abandoned to the UIR. Its defenders have been pulled back into Sython, but not before they rigged the whole defence network with traps and explosives.

The UIR forces are now is possession of roughly 40% of Sython. The fact that the UC have retreated to the inner city, plus the fact that the reinforcements earmarked for Sython have been rerouted, indicates that the Coalition is preparing to lose the city.

The UIR 1st Army continues to suffer militia attacks. A truck bomb has been driven into the midst of a UC command post, causing heavy casualties.

Musul

The UC forces north of the city have been eliminated. The remaining UC armies have withdrawn northwards to another defensive line.

Port Gjralmor

Imperial Army forces have captured the port facilities, but the city is still under enemy control. Tank losses have been especially heavy.

Frosthold river

The 70th Imperial infantry regiment has burst across the bridge, driving the enemy backwards once more. The storm that hit Sython is descending upon Hjarmak, and all fighting there will have to cease shortly.


Northern Uitland

Militia forces have resisted the Arvenians from the beginning, sniping and ambushing them as they move through the arctic snow and howling winds. Coalition troops have also been dispatched to counter this new threat.

The 92nd and 44th have successfully taken over the majority of the city and have forced the uitlandese military towards the outskirts but with heavy casualties. The 92nd has lost more then half of its strength. The 44th has lost 125 tanks due to uitlandese militia teams and harsh weather.
All wounded troops are being airlifted out of the city. Sniper teams are searching the city for militia H-Q's and uitlandese spotters hidden in the rubble.

Private Yuri pretchano was walking towards the uitlandese radio tower when a noticed something on the side of it. He pointed at it and said "what is that?"
Soon troopers reported more of these placed around the compound.
"Explosives!!!" He ran and ducked for cover as the radio tower blew up.

The Uitlander Coalition forces have dug in around the city centre. Their militia teams have been hit hard by the UIR snipers. In response, the Coalition Army has deployed the elite Grunewohl recon regiment with their own snipers. The regular army has begun to withdraw, sending its wounded out first.

The IIB estimates that the city will fall within 12-24 hours.

Musul

The storm has hit, bringing offensive operations to a halt.

The farthest penetration so far ( as of 0100 Central Imperial Time, 1100 local) is by Colonel Rudel's 502nd Motorized Infantry regiment and the 89th Imperial Guard Heavy Tank Regiment, commanded by Colonel Delgado. They have reached as far north as the Zhiil Pass, which guards the entrance to the wide, sweeping plains of the Taiga.

The Coalition Army offered stiff resistance until the city of Arbat, where the Imperator heavy tanks broke through the flanks and smashed the enemy 44th Tank and 13th Anti Air regiments. This opened the skies for the IAF, who harried them all the way to the pass.

Port Gjralmor

Imperial forces have captured over half of the port, although the extensive destruction means that reinforcements will be slow to land at first.

707th Mot.Inf. reports that after sending squads of troops through the streets towards the main oil reserves in the port, they fought vicious battles against the enemy. Imperial Lieutenant Paulsen, leading his men in person, stormed the admin building. It took six hours to clear it. By then, the defenders actually accepted the offer of surrender in the oil refinery. Our men took it, intact! Lieutenant Paulsen, who lost an arm during the bloody fight, is now a captain. He has also been awarded the Iron Cross First Class.

The only enemy remaining are holed up in the massive North Light Armament Factory, which has been turned into a fortress complete with AT guns, mortars, MGs, and AA guns.

Enemy air activity is also on the increase.


Frosthold river

The enemy in this region have been utterly defeated. Imperial forces chased them into the waiting arms of pro-Xianese civilians living around the Yiang Resevoir, who attacked them from all sides. Weary and demoralised, they gladly threw down their weapons to march into Imperial captivity. By 2230 CIT Tigers of the 100th Armoured Rgt. had reached the far side of the Resevoir, hanging a huge Imperial flag from Yiang Dam to show their victory. They now look with some foreboding into the next region north of Hjarmak, the almost fully forested Hainan.

The Western sector of Hjarmak is now in Imperial hands.

After 12 hours of intense house to house fighting between UIR and Uitlandese forces the city of sython has been captured. After the 1st armys arrival the uitlandese military ordered a pullout of the city. This means that sython is now under UIR control. The 92nd has received the medal of glory for its decisive actions against the uitlandese encirclement. The 44th has received the tank battalion medal for its actions attempting to clear a path to the 92nd.
Both groups have suffered heavy casualties and will be getting reinforced.
With the 1st army arriving and setting up base the 92nd and 44th can finally relax before the big push to the capital.

After a few engagements with uitlandese milita teams the 1st army successfully liberated the 92nd and helped them push towards the center of the city. After a few casualties the 1st army led the final push for the city. All forces are preparing to turn sython into a UIR stageing area for further operations inside Uitland.

With sython in UIR hands the 3rd and 4th shock armys entered Northern Uitland. Their mission was to cut a path to the coastline and establish a landing area for Allied forces.

Comrades,
We congratulate you! Your victory at Sython is a boost to our common cause. The enemy forces opposing you have withdrawn, as expected, to the Iceholm Redoubt, a huge defensive fortification which is roughly midway between our forces. Our own troops have expanded outward from our landing zone, and are now advancing along the Talmar's northern shore. We expect to arrive outside the Redoubt in two days (your own forces should be able to do the same). I propose we meet on the north of the Talmar river. From there, we can lay siege to Iceholm.

Iceholm is one of the two great redoubts in Uitland (the other is the capital, Kligenthal). And like the capital, it consists of a city built at least partly into the slopes of the mountain behind it. The population have been building defences for 200 years, on and off, and the garrison is on average 290,000 men, not counting the militia. It is impossible to overestimate the importance of this city. We must capture it if we are then to turn north and begin the long fight up Highway 01 to the capital.

The Imperial Army has been ordered to advance until the town of Kindao, which will become the headquarters for the 19th Army for the siege. We recommend for your headquarters the neighbouring town, Parello, as this will give us close proximity for planning and quicker reaction times.

General Zeitzler's 7th Army will continue to advance in the south. If you wish to land troops, we would appreciate landings to the south, in the region of Hainan. From there, the Xianese 7th Army can link up with you, creating an almost continuous north-south Xianese-UIR front line.

Your troops will soon occupy the entire province of Sengal (the capital of which is Sython). Beware once again of sabotage, as the militia are everywhere.

As for the Uitland Coalition, their reserves are far from empty. They have many more troops, many more tanks, and fanatical determination. They will soon recover from their defeats. Expect the heaviest fighting to be around the Iceholm Redoubt, for now.

The Arvenian military sends attack bombers and drones to bomb Uitlander camps and villages in Northern Uitland. Also, the Arvenian military puts up military bases around the parts, patrols and exercises. Lately this morning, the attack bombers has allegedly bombed a small Uitlander village named Gakha in Northern Uitland. Casualities might be around 12. The village is currently destroyed and unable to be rebuilt. The surviving villagers wandered into the winterstorm, only to be captured by Arvenian ground forces. According to the Arvenian News Network, the Arvenian troops threatens to execute the villagers by wolf attack, hanging, decapitation and firing squad.

The room was filled to the brim with reporters and news crews who eagerly awaited the presidents upcoming speech. The level of noise dropped off when the president entered the room and began waveing to the crowds. After a short applause the crowds quickly became quite.

"to my fellow people and statesman it is with great pleasure that I had announced our victory at Sython.oour army has successfully liberated the city and has brought an end to the regime ruling over those civilians we have offered them the chance democratically vote whether to join our union or still be an independent country we will not deny them either we will not force them into any concentration camps we will give them food water and shelter we will treat them as if they were our own people we will protect them currently the 92nd and 44th armored groups along with the 1st army will coordinate our efforts against the enemy with our allies. it has been a long road and this war has cost us many good men but I assure you that we will be victorious at all costs and our enemy will be bowing to our feet and that the Union shall prevail. it has come to my attention that a foreign power has begun terror operations against civilian populationsthis is appalling and it is a all font to international law and moral decency we ask that any refugees who wish to seek asylum inside the union do so now while we will prepare a strike team to engage the foreign hostiles. these acts of genocide and pulse propaganda are leading us to war with another country I pledge to use all force necessary to end this war and to bring our men home thank you for your time and I wish you the best of luck long live union"

with the city successfully liberated and all militia groups eliminated and with the army prepared to begin operations against Iceholm it is looking to be a quick victory over the uitlandese military. With the 1st army's artillery already fireing on Iceholm the siege shouldn't last more then a week and with allied force's closing in on iceholm the situation is looking grim for Uitland.
Up in the north the 3rd and 4th shock armies have nearly captured all of northern Uitland with the exception of the port of Himmidosv where heavy fighting has been going on for the past two weeks. With the 4th fleet preparing an amphibious invasion the city has a slim chance of survival.

Uitlanders are treated bad and are a minority in the territories, with the Arvenians being the majority in the territories. Uitlanders are forced to join the Arvenian military or will face harsh punishment.

The population of Uitland have so far been neutral towards us, reducing the effectiveness of their Militia. If we use mass killing in our war it will turn the population against us and make it impossible to occupy this country. We understand you wish to see a part of the Coalition join your nation-this will nver happen if you use this experimental weapon.

You appear to be under some illusions regarding this campaign, though. Iceholm will not fall within a week-nearer a month, and this is if we concentrate our power.

Northern Uitland

Xianese infantry and tank forces have clashed in the far north of Uitland with The Arvenian military. At Zhuln, the 110th Mot.Inf and Frunze Grenadiers fought a hard battle with the Arvenians, driving them out of the city. The 110th was awarded the title of their hometown to denote their elite status, becoming the Hammsdorf Rifles due to this ferocious fight. Zhuln, one of the main cities on the ice fields, is being fortified a great deal by the Xianlong Empire in preparation for further attacks.

19th Army has begun round the clock artillery strikes on Iceholm in preparation for the first assault waves to attack the eastern suburbs. Highway 01 is being fortified by the Coalition. And more reinforcements, armour most notably, have been moving to prevent any movement north.

Southern Front-Zeitzler's army

Heavy fighting around the Zhill pass. 90th Armoured has lost a record 122 tanks in the last two days. 112th Mot.Inf. has inched forward to within 500 metres of the Pass itself, but is being fiercely resisted. 502nd Infantry Regiment fighting on despite heavy losses, including Colonel Rudel, who was seriously wounded leading his men. If we break them here, Hjarmak is ours.

Hainan Province

The going is slow. Ambushes and harrying attacks continue without end; one or two shots claiming an Imperial soldiers life every few hours. The regular troops in this area are steadily giving ground. Perhaps they are more concerned with the fighting up north.

The UC are fighting hard in the north, causing significant damage to the 3rd and 4th Shock armies of the UIR. A series of counterattacks have halted the UIR push on Himmidosv. The Coalition Army reinforcements have arrived, turning the port into another fortress. They have also launched an attack on the 14th Inf., 4th Armoured, and 2nd Imperial Guard Rgts to the northwest of Iceholm. Militia attacks have been a constant danger.

The Arvenian ground forces do a surprise attack on the Xianese forces in the small Uitlander village of Nargen. Arvenian F92 Attack Bombers are heavily bombing the Xianese forces and the village. The village is destroyed, but the Xianese backup forces has arrived to fight the Arvenian troops.

Arvenian forces are secretly invading Southern Uitland, fighting Uitlander troops and Xianese troops. Arvenia initiates Operation Burning Grounds, where the Arvenian air forces conducts bombings of Southern Uitlander territories with napalm strikes.

Nargen is being reinforced by the 33rd Infantry, 19th Imperial Guard Armoured, 45th Mot.Infantry, and 30th Heavy Tank Regiments. IA-109 interceptors have been duelling with Arvenian fighters all day whilst artillery has begun pounding their land forces in the area.

Southern Uitland

Arvenian forces have been heavily engaged by the 99th Infantry Regiment, as well as elements of the 59th Infantry. 67th Imperial Guard Inf. and 77th Imperial Guard have been dispatched to reinforce them. 109 Interceptors have destroyed many Arvenian napalm bombers, tallying an estimated 10-12 of them in one day. The IAF has lost 8 aircraft.

Eastern Ocean

Wolfpacks Zhitomir, Xiang Fei, Gusovius, and Larisel are en route to attack the Arvenian naval forces off the coast. IA-110s armed with anti-ship missiles are awaiting their orders to swoop down and engage the enemy.

Iceholm Front

It is with great pleasure that the Imperial Armed Forces High Command can announce that the assault on Iceholm has pierced through the first two lines of UC defences. The Imperial Army, alongside their UIR allies, have shattered the 34th, 12th, and 20th Coalition Army infantry regiments, pushing their shattered remnants into the final redoubt. The Xianese 118th Mot.Inf Rgt have stalled in front of the final defensive line, which is laying waste to the rest of the city. The 22nd Imperial Guard Inf. Rgt has gained a minor foothold on the north face of the defensive wall, facing fierce resistance that has resulted in 33% casualties. UIR tanks and infantry are still trying to break through the final line of defenses as well. The Uron Gate, main entrance to the centre of the city, has become a hellhole, defended with such suicidal courage that both the Imperial 97th Inf. Rgt and UIR forces had to replace their units twice over through casualties.

Such suicidal resistance is costing us dearly, but it also is draining the enemy reserves. When our victory comes at Iceholm, it will be total. Do not expect many Uitlander prisoners.

After the thrust southwards was contained, the frontline at Highway 1 has stabilised. 2nd Imperial Guard Inf. took the brunt of the attack before the neighbouring units turned on them in a fury, wiping them out.

Southern Front

In Hainan, Zeitzler's army is still encountering little enemy activity. Only militia remain, whilst regular UC forces have fled northward. The Zhill Pass, after similarly vicious fighting, has fallen. Hjarmak is now under Imperial control.

In the rest of the country, central government control has started to break down. To make things worse, a massive snowstorm has whited out the whole north of the country, covering Himmsdov, Zhuln, and the vast ice fields inbetween. All fighting there is at a halt until the storm calms, but it could be as much as a week.
