Every Religious Building in Ardoki

Saint Dallan Cathedral was the primary cathedral of the Catholic Church in Ardoki, a country which had been very hostile to religion since the Great Revolution of 1905 which brought the Social Democratic Party of Ardoki (SDPA) to power in a supposed democratic society. However, the SDPA quickly monopolised power, changing the electoral and party donation laws, to give it a massive advantage in elections, as well as recruiting large sectors of the population into the party. However Ardoki was still technically a democratic society. And the SDPA did much good, forming a socially liberal and progressive state, with a strong economy, a very high standard of living and much wealth equality.
However the religious were viewed by the party as superstitious fools, whose anti-scientific views were detrimental to the society and progress. The SDPA began undermining the various religions in Ardoki, and teaching the children atheism and secular humanism and attacking religion in the education system. These tactics worked marvellously, today over 97% of Ardokians would classify themselves as atheist (with 5% of those identifying themselves as atheistic-Buddhists). The religious however still remained, and are viewed by the majority of the population as well as the party as sufferers of mental illness. The religious are thought to be delusional.
Archbishop Feidhlim O'Callaghan was the head of the Ardokian Catholic Church, an organisation with over 18 million members, making it by far the largest Christian church in Ardoki. He had no family, as he was sworn to celibacy, like any Catholic priest, however some called him a "good man", the alter boys begged to disagree. Feidhlim was walking down the isle of the church with a bunch of nuns when loud explosions were heard coming from the front entrance of the large cathedral. It was as if bombs were going off near the large strong wooden doors. Soon after SWAT teams burst through the entrance and fired tranquilliser darts at the Archbishop and the nuns. They fell to the ground. The SWAT teams then went on to neutralise every religious leader in the building and load them into trucks with the name 'Section 1' marked across them.
However this was not an isolated incident, every church, mosque, and synagogue. Every religious building (except for the Atheistic-Buddhist ones) was being raided and the religious leaders being taken away by Section 1, the paramilitary arm of the Ministry of State Security. All the assets of the religious organisations under attack were seized by the Ardokian government, and their land confiscated, plans had already been made for the Ministry of Religion to construct and run learning centres of atheism and secular humanism in place of the religious buildings. However the 3% of Ardokians who are religious were not touched, only the leaders who were deemed to be telling "harmful lies to the people" were taken. The ordinary people would be "cured of their delusion through education".

In a shocking assault against democracy itself, police raided the headquarters of every political party in the country, other then the Social Democratic Party. The assets of these parties were seized by the government, with all their sensitive information seized by the government also. The headquarters and branches of these parties were locked down, to be eventually sold at auction. Forces of Section 1 detained the leaders of these political parties, and they were sent away just like the religious leaders were. This same thing occurred to every other anti-SDPA organisation in Ardoki. The only party which survived, other then the SDPA, was Green-Left, which disbanded on its own free will and its members in the Legislature joined the SDPA. The remaining seats were taken by older SDPA members. Giving the SDPA an absolute majority of 100% of seats in the National Assembly.
Ardoki was truly a single-party state now.

At the beginning of the 21st Century, the Ardokian government had legislatures a requirement for television manufacturers to install a device in every single television sold in Ardoki which could turn the televisions on and switch to the government emergency channel upon the orders of the government. It was important that the government announce the changes in Ardoki, and why they are being done. To put the minds of the citizens of Ardoki at rest.
Premier Alastar Connelly, the head of government of the Social Democratic Republic of Ardoki, and leader of the SDPA in the National Assembly, sat at his office in a black suit with a red rose pinned onto his left lapel of his jacket. An Ardokian flag fluttered in the background behind him. He awaited confirmation of the start of the broadcast.
"Greetings citizens of Ardoki. As you all know, I am Premier Alastar Connelly, the head of government of Ardoki. And I am here today to tell you about the recent changes in Ardoki, and why we were forced to make them." he said as soon as the broadcast started.
"The Social Democratic Party has, since 1905, guided Ardoki along a path of freedom and prosperity. 109 years of spectacular wealth, and equality. Something very rare in todays world, and something we should all be proud off. However, there are some, who wish to turn Ardoki back to the days of poverty and oppression of the Empire. Monarchists, Convists, Liberals, Conservatives, Communists, Anarchists, the Religious, etcetera. These are reactionaries who wish to ruin our high standard of living and wealth, destroy the progressive and equal society we hold dear, or even both. We cannot let them get what they want!" the Premier said.
A pre-recorded applause-track played, as the Premier stopped for a quick moment.
He continued. "The Social Democratic Party for 109 years has cared for every single citizen of Ardoki. We have been a just, a wise, and a caring party which only wants the best for our citizens and Ardoki. However, in order for our Utopian vision to come true, our enemies must be eradicated.
From this day on, democracy is abolished in Ardoki. It has proven to be useless, and only acted as an arena for hateful fools to spread their reactionary ideas.
Freedom of speech will be respected, however threatening to overthrow the state of the SDPA will be an act of treason. You can criticise the actions of the government, though not the government itself. Lest we want chaos and disorder. Hate speech will continue to be banned.
Religion has proven to be detrimental to society, and an act of cruelty against the religious person. Religion, with the exception of atheistic religions, are hereby prohibited. Teaching them to others is a criminal offence. All effort will be taken to cure the religious of their mental illnesses.
Currently over two thirds of Ardokians are members of the SDPA, I strongly encourage everyone in Ardoki to think of joining the party. So we can advance Ardoki onwards, towards the perfect society we have all dreamed of."
