The War Song

For the past several years, leading up to 2014 AD, the land of Gilneas on the continent of Genevieva has been at war. Starting with the initial attack on Lithuania-Latvia, and ending -- or so we suppose -- with the establishment of the IGDA (International Gilnean Defense Association), Gilneas has fought in over nine wars in a quest for supremacy and assertion of sovereignty. Historically, Gilneas has had a small group of allies -- Archeuland and Baughistan the main ally, but there are others, more secretive, ready to strike at any moment should the time call for it. These nations have been among the strongest advocates for Gilneas. Much of Gilneas' territory is under siege, and we are working to eliminate these threats.

The alliance went inactive for a brief time, but was restored with the signing of the Massouba Treaty.

Blackshire Peace Accords

On this day of September 12th, PTE 100 represnetatives of the Hegemony of Aravea, The IGDA, and Gilnean Defense Coalition have agreed to create a lasting peace on this shattered and destitue continent. The following articles of the treaty shall be the laws governing the peace and its protection.
1. The Grand Kingdom of Gilneas and the GDC shall stand down their conventional and unconventional military forces.(the. IGDA shall do the same.)
2. Both the GDC and the IGDA shall begin a process of nuclear disarmament with the ultimate goal of reducing the nuclear stockpiles by 95%)

3. The GDC shall end their blockade of the IGDA so as to allow normal trade to resume)

4. The IGDA and GDC shall create an joint committee to oversee the opening of peaceful diplomatic relations between the two alliances.
5. For up to six months after the treaty is signed the Hegemony of Aravea and her allies will maintain a peacekeeping force to prevent the violation of the treaty.

6. Both the GDC and IGDA will contribute funds to help rebuild nations damaged over the course of the conflict.

Isleta Peace Accords, to amend and revise Blackshire Peace Accords

The following articles of the treaty shall be amended to the laws governing the peace and its protection of the Genevievian continent.

1. The Grand Kingdom of Gilneas, Gilnean Defense Coalition, and IGDA shall stand down their conventional and unconventional military forces and utilize them in the future only for defensive or peacekeeping forces as long as this treaty is effective and/or said nation is a signatory.

2. Nuclear disarmament shall be encouraged but not required. Use of nuclear weapons is forbidden in all future conflicts at penalty of enforced police action against said violator. Nuclear weapons are permitted only in defensive retaliation but are on the whole discouraged for use in warfare. Nuclear weapons may be deployed, however, with permission of the Gilnean Nuclear Task Force, which, as a provision of this treaty, shall be created.

3. The GDC and IGDA shall create a joint committee to oversee unification of both alliances under a common organization.

4. For up to six months after the treaty is signed the Hegemony of Aravea and her allies will maintain a peacekeeping force on the Lake Royal Peninsula in Archeuland.

6. All nations agree to respect the existing boundaries as outlined in the revised 12 September map.

7. Nations, though discouraged, are not required or bound to remain signatories. At the consent of said nation's legislatures or leaders, they may freely withdraw from the accords. They will, however, remain subject to punishments prescribed in these accords should they violate our laws or treaties.

8. Should there be need, nations may engage in military conflict with another -- annexations, attacks, etc -- if it is in the best interests of all. Said utilization of military must be approved by the Gilnean War High Command, a committee which is established as a provision of this treaty.

Gilnean Defense Coalition -- Official Legislation

Part I: Amendments
1. There shall be established as a general title 'head of the Gilnean Defense Coalition' who shall be appointed by consent of the majority of full members.
2. All member nations shall establish the 'Gilnean Burgin' as their official currency.
3. There shall be allotted, and funded voluntarily by all members, a grand total of $300,000,000,000 Gilnean Burgins ($120,000,000 NS) to serve as a general fund for the use of the alliance members to withdraw from or deposit to as needed.
4. If necessary -- the scope of primary GDC involvement may be extended or decreased depending on the wishes of delegates (see Part III).

Part II: Land
1. The territories of the Royally United Provinces (RUP) shall be extended approximately 100 miles west (at a certain point only) into the territory of the Unified Prussian States. To compensate, the Unified Prussian States (UPS) shall be given full territory up to the southernmost edge of Lake Erwin.
2. The territories of New Genov and New Cedoria shall be recognized as possessions of the State of Cedoria.
3. The Commonwealth of Hank the Cat, the Unggoy Empire, and the Unggoy Isles (formerly Islamstan, now Catholistan shall be observed as under a common cooperative banner.
4. The territories of the Gilnean desert shall be ceded to the Theocracy of Archeuland and Baughistan, from which shall the Archeulandic crown directly govern the lands to form a sort of buffer territory to prevent future conflict in Gilneas.
5. The nation of Dewhurst-Narculis shall be awarded lands north of Graymaneton (as shown in the attached map) as a token of appreciation for joining the alliance should they agree to this treaty.

Part III: Nuclear Proliferation
1. No nation shall use nuclear weaponry on Gilnean soil.
2. The nation of Gilneas shall refrain from using nuclear weaponry except in retaliation from an illicit incoming nuclear attack; or in anticipation of nuclear attack (pre-emptive strike).
3. Nations shall be reminded that use of nuclear weapons is not allowed without permission from the Nuclear Task Force of Gilneas, under the authority of the Gilnean Defense Coalition.

Part IV: Unification of IGDA and GDC
1. The IGDA and its members shall agree to merge into, and join, the Gilnean Defense Coalition.
2. The Coalition shall reaffirm its stance -- the purpose will not be solely for the defense of the Gilnean nation, but also the protection of Gilnean people from tyrannical government and invasion, the preservation of the land from nuclear attack, and common defense of the northern area of Genevievia. It shall not be seen as, nor act, nor be, a puppet of the Grand Kingdom of Gilneas or the Theocracy of Archeuland and Baughistan.
3. It shall function as a military alliance.
4. Member-states may freely withdraw, but are encouraged to remain in the alliance in the interest of prosperity.
5. Delegates may decide on a new name for the organization if they please.
6. All nations will agree to avoid staking land claims on the Gilnean territories, and will understand that the creation of a new nation -- currently in the works -- as well as the agreed buffer state -- will serve the interests of all, especially those who consider Gilneas to control too much territory.

Part V: Cooperation projects
1. All nations shall begin exploratory programs to chart and explore Genevievia, as well as other lands outside the known world.
2. Diplomatic relations shall be established with any new nations encountered.
3. Oil pipelines and natural resource exploitation shall begin in all nations at heightened rates. All nations should agree to general trade agreements.

Part VI: Diplomatic agreements
1. Besides trade agreements, all nations agree to form military alliances with one another, excluding no one.

Part VII: World map
1. All nations shall agree to a revised world map with some redrawn borders which will benefit all parties.

Firewind urges Archeuland and Baughistan to rethink their defending of Gilneas.

Gilneas is a monster, a menace, their leader a madman who launches nukes like a child plays with toys. The Gilnean Royal Family wastes their soldiers lives like water down a drain, and even though they keep being ousted, always do they find an ally to retreat to, where they consolidate their power before returning to take up a reign of terror once again. Gilneas is in a state of economy poverty, with all money being wasted on nuclear weapons for use in pointless wars. The GRF itself has had their capital nuked more than once, and bloody wars have been fought in all Gilnean cities, in many more than once.

Firewind urges all nations of the international community to refrain from joining the GDC, which is flawed at best. Even if it claims to be a defense pact, it is only keeping a madman in power, one who, as has been previously described, uses nuclear weapons as toys.
