I won't go into specifics, but a M1 Abrams, for example, runs on a gas turbine engine. This basically just works like a steam power plant. It just uses air instead of water. It's somewhat debatable whether an absolutely MASSIVE one could power a coilgun, but for a railgun, it definitely needs a nuclear reactor. (I know you're only talking about coilguns, but just putting that out there)
