Well remember Backje seems to be the only JSA member right now who is directly involved in the conflict.

directly involved yes. but it is due to the JSA as a whole. Especially you Magna that he has even seemd to have considered coming to the diplomatic table. as his mission origionally appeard to be "stomp flat anything not us shaped. and then use its planets for our own gain."

True. I did plan to intervene through peace talks but seeing as talks have already come about I have no place to get involved. With any luck the talks will go well. If not I'll just need to think of something.

thats completely fine with me. as i said. i completely understand if the JSA dont bother helping since it isnt their fight TO fight. unless somethign goes BADLY wrong.other than that. i beleive each member does what they want to do in accordance with the JSA's own laws.

Thanks for your understanding. Hopefully talks will go well. Please ask if you wish us to enter in the talks. I will be more than glad to work out another treaty.

Okay, obviously I have no evidence to the following claims, so you can disregard it from the off. But I think I know what Steppe is up to with "Darkstar".

Since it is a non-governmental vessel, it therefore meets the guidelines that it is a civilian vessel, albeit a military-grade one. Why is it going to the border? I think it's to test us, to see if we respond. If it does indeed class as a civillian vessel, he could begin peacefully and covertly colonising worlds within the neutral zone, or he could begin placing warships in the neutral zone.

We have no juristriction to request they be moved, as they are civillian vessels, technically, and therefore the only way to remove them would be to break the treaty and remove them by force. Steppe can then say we're the aggressors and get people like Abh and IRON on his side to defend him.

That's my two pence on the matter. Take it or leave it; either way, i'll be watching Steppe very carefully in the near future.

Magna Omega and Ozymos, you both should read the ''Meeting at Gorbathia'' thread, he told Sky Marshal Dienes what he was going to use Darkstar for, but it is a brief explanation ...

I did. It's part of what shaped my answer. If he wanted to simply build better warships, why do it under the cover of a civillian company and keep it secret from Ayame Khan?

Hmmm...Steppe did say he had a plan for getting rid of Ayame. Still, i'm going to remain suspicious of Steppe all the same. He hasn't changed his leader since he first arrived on NS.

Yes but to be frank I'll shed no tears if Ayame...removed. We'll need to keep an eye on these developments either way.

Idle curiosity. If I wanted to join you kidlets in your alliance (which is quite well-constructed by the way, especially for what seems to be a first-time alliance crowd), is it necessary to join the region (which would unfortunately be beyond me), or can one join solely in an RP capacity?

I wouldn't be exceptionally active, which suits me, but I still carry a little diplomatic weight, and since I feel like reverting to the Realm (who have been involved in almost every major conflict since the beginning of FT history, but are nevertheless quite benevolent), I'd be very capitalistic if somewhat secretive about my internal affairs.

If that's the case, the following application should serve as my IC request to join. If not, well, ignore it.

- - -

It is odd to see such peace in the galaxy. Of course, as your alliance no doubt knows, there are still minor threats - the occasional stray Hyperborian, the predations of the Sith, and the various self-styled 'galactic empires', only one of which truly poses a threat to any civilized nation. Despite this, however, galactic civilization is no longer perched on a precipice from which it might fall and be dashed to pieces at any moment. The old antagonisms, the old enemies have faded away, and despite the proliferation of many new powers, the old wars of annihilation seem a laughable impossibility.

In the spirit of such an age, the Realm offers its hand in friendship to the Joint Systems Alliance, and humbly puts forward its name for membership. It is our view that you could benefit greatly from the experiences we have undergone throughout two millenia of existence, and no doubt there are technological trinkets to be exchanged as well.

There is an application thread and yes to be a full member you have to join the region. Sorry. We're always open for new trade partners though if you're interested.

You mean our mass relays? Uh that's quite a feat and seems a little too unlikely. You see they use the mass effect to propel vessels across the galaxy beyond standard FTL speeds. It's primarily used for ship travel. To make what you are proposing would require a mass relay at LEAST 5 times bigger than that planet and each planet is a diferent size. That's deprive us of trillions or more. It can't really be done. In any case my mass relays "inner workings" are classified. The ability to harness such power is quite valuable. Sorry Kisa.

posing a question entirely hypothetically. if my FTL system worked by traveling through a different dimension and re-materializing abruptly in real space how mad would other nations be if i started weaponizing this tech by having a ship kamikaze or a missile/explosive rematerialized inside another ship thus causing instant massive destruction? FTLi tech of course would block this. Would they or you for that matter consider it a god mod or respectfully be like dam nice move. The idea of course would be that i would have to sacrifice a ship or use a hyper expensive and rare weapon that my Savior class Battleship would have only one of. (then need to be rearmed and refueled. i currently have 6 Saviors).
