Zatakian Forces Invade Cyprus

Zatak-After getting confirmation for over 5 hours, the Zatakian government finally confirm that Zatakian forces have entered and landed on Cyprus territory, however, the reason remains unknown. However, many believe it is an invasion to annex more territory for Zatak. Local reports and on the ground images have also confirm that Zatakian forces have landed and are moving into Cyprus rapidly.
As of now, the only information available from the Zatakian government is at 11 PM, August, 7th, 2014, a Zatakian naval task force lead by the carrier RZNS Magus entered Cyprus waters and advances towards the mainland. The group which consisted of the destroyers RZNS Alpha, RZNS Omega, RZNS Garnet, frigates RZNS Jackson and RZNS Artus, along with a number of Mine Countermeasures Ships(MCM) and Auxiliary ships advanced into Cyprus waters without resistance until around 12:05 when the Cyprus government demanded the Zatakian forces to leave.
According to the Cyprus government officials, 20 minutes after entering Cyprus waters, the purpose of the force became clear as around 18 Eagle V4 fighters declared a no fly zone over Cyprus and declared any attack on them would be seen as a act of war on Zatak. The Zatakian task force began a coastal bombardment on Cyprus resulting in the death of 12 members of the Cyprus National Guard and the destruction of all 4 FPB 30M class patrol boats.
A assault force consisting of around 4,000 Troops from the 16th Tactical Assault Group and a number of CC-8V8 tanks and vehicles landed on Cyprus. A number of military installations where bombed including the Headquarters of the 20th Armored Brigade and 8th Infantry Brigade.
Shortly after, Zatakian forces began assaults on the cities on Limassol, Larnaka and Famagusta which had been heavily bombed by fighters jets. The Zatakians claimed to have sucessfully captured the cities.
After 6 hours of massive fighting, Zatakian forces advance into the country with heavy resistance. The army and air force of Cyprus has been severely damaged.
Locals report that Zatakian armor units throughout the country claim that Zatakian forces are trying their best to provide food, water and medical aid while fortifying their own position.
No responses have yet been made from the international community officially, however, President Thieu of Vietnam states that, he condemns such move, done by the Zatakian government. Mediterranean Vietnam has been put on high alert, and the 2nd Naval Fleet of the Vietnamese Navy has been moved to the island of Crete while the 3rd Navy has been rerouted to Greece.

The word empire has been used for century's to describe the earths greatest powers and will continue to for as long as we have nations yet how they are formed is usually through some dynamic event or large military conquest and the Zatakian empire was no different from the likes of the British or ottomans in how they rose yet the only difference is that they had control over there lands.....
The Zatakian invasion of Cyprus shook the world and showed that even when the empire was gone that a nations imperial ambitions still existed and would continue to exist as long as they had the power to march into a nation and utterly destroy everything that made them a nation in the first place.... Yet this invasion was different because no one knew why they did it and only understood that they simply invaded and although the invasion has been going on for so little a lot has happened.

The RZNS Magus carrier group leaves from there current stationing in Zatakian Libya for unknown reasons Yet because of the time no one really cares as Zatakian fleets in the area usually do patrols at this time after which the group starts moving near The Zatakian east before turning to Cyprus after which they begin cruising the waters of Cyprus and even after warning to leave the fleet remains and circles for around a hour before entering the waters in the east of the nation after which the fleet is told to leave and the Zatakian government warned....... it goes unanswered.
The RZNS Magus made the first move as 2 Squadrons 18 Zatakian Eagle V4 fighters flew over the fleet in a V formation as the carrier group advanced the Zateka class frigates of the group Moved ahead to act as a front line defense and after half a hour the Carrier group sat off the coast silently without much resistance as the Cyprus navy was little more then patrol boats and there air force a few dozen Helicopters which provided little defense from a carrier group.
Twenty minutes later the intentions became clear as the Zateka class frigates and Amelia class destroyers opened fire on the Cyprus coast and the coastal city's Of Famagusta, lamaka, Agia napa and protaras randomly for around five minutes Killing who knows how many and basically destroying the city's in a attempt to get rid of any military forces in the area next the 2 Fighter groups began to fly around the eastern coast of Cyprus bombing Military instillation and factory's while also installing no fly zones over the area.
The attack happened so fast it gave the Cyprus National forces little time to prepare and all they could do was attempt to take down the fighters before anything else happened but before they could even launch a counter attack men and armor from the 16th Tactical Assault Group who are mostly Criminals and are not technically part of the military but a paramilitary loyal to the Zatakian Throne which including a number of CC-8V8 MBT, ground forces and SPV-16 among others who began a quick advance into the city's they had attacked but even then they met resistance from remaining forces which did result in casualty from both sides but the Cyprus forces had little time to even plan a counter attack before Zatakians moved into the 4 city's who proceeded to claim them as there own.
Most of the assaults still remain unknown and the details above are all that is known at this moment but after all of this the Zatakia forces began preparing for massive retaliation as they were at a major numbers disadvantage and the only reason they captured the city's was because they were close enough to get bombed and the assault was completely random and they knew that they barely held the city's.
Fighting near the city's continued for hours resulting in more losses in terms of lives and when morning hit the world stood in shook as the first reports of the invasion came in to everyone's shock.
Current positioning
- The RZNS Magus Carrier group splits up into small patrol groups as they watch the eastern coast of the Nation as the RZNS Magus remains in the Famagusta Bay and acts as the main command center.
- The Zatakian Held area still experience Fighting but it has died down from the night before yet they Find it hard to deal with the local population and attempt to provide aid to them as best they can along with this the land taken is under a form of martial law as forces hunt down any resistance.
The Zatakian fighter groups still have a no fly zone over the island and continue to bomb not only facility's but even city's that are not as defended although the Capital is still a target there main target in Cyprus military forces and bases and positions ahead of advancing Zatakian troops.
The Zatakian Task force move into the country with Heavy resistance as they attempt to Divide and conquer as much as they can but have found this hard as they lack full numbers to combat the larger Enemy forces that present them although the group plans to regroup near the center of the island as most of the forces move west and two groups move to the little protected northern half of the country.
