Sample 1: Debate, for an Alliance
On the planet Atahezin, the High Primarchs debated until order was called. In the massive spire of the Main Hive, all the leaders of the Atahez had gathered. One of their extra solar probes had come across an interesting development in the outer galaxy, an Alliance of powerful but seemingly peaceful space civilizations. Open transmissions intercepted seemed to indicate they worked for the greater good. However, some of the Primarchs were not thrilled at this development. Outsiders where an unknown factor to the relatively new space faring race.

From what had been seen of the other races ,or Xenohez, displayed the same type of aggressiveness and warmongering the Mantahez displayed in the centuries past. Some of the Atahez did not want to interact with the galaxy as it could open them up to threats of invasion.

However, some Atahez were curious. Atahez lived for knowledge ,studying and interacting with new races, learning their history, languages and culture was an exciting prospect. They dreamed of sharing and debating new point of views that undoubtedly existed in the these new civilizations.

One such Primarch was Zorphax of the planet Seconzin. The stage was his as he prepared to make his case, having been chosen to speak for those who wished to make contact with these outsiders.

“Primarchs I speak to you today to say we should not let fear guide our actions. Some of you are worried that contact with outsiders will bring only war and destruction upon our planets. However, if we remain isolated we stagnate and die, our worlds and memories forgotten in dust. We cannot live in the cradle of the Corpus System forever. We must expand our horizons, make good friends and discover new wonders” said the large insectoid.

There was a small murmuring as the Primarchs discussed among themselves. The Primarch of Titanzin raised a hand. Kloozuck was one of the hardliners that did not wish to make contact and was scheduled to speak next but being outspoken he could not help but retort.

“ I disagree Zorphax of Seconzin. These outsiders are no better than the Mantahez and are as brutal as the Savahez. We have heard tales of their wars, of their genocides! They would do the same to us. They will see our wealth and our knowledge and want it for their own!” he said, causing another stir among the Primarchs.

Alakyrr, the Primarch of Atahezin, called for order with a small but potent psychic yell. He was the oldest and being the Primarch of the homeworld, made him well respected. “ Enough. Kloozuck of Titanzin, you will have your chance to speak. Zorphax of Seconzin, please go on”

“ As Kloozuck of Titanzin pointed out, the galaxy at large is a dangerous place. I have no doubt in the near future a maligned force will discover us. However, if we join this alliance we will be better protected and more knowledgeable about the threats that face us. We must not make the same mistake we made with the Savahez and find them when it is too late. Ignorance is knowledge’s greatest enemy. We must not become it!” Zorphax finished up. He allowed his words to sink in before skittering over back to his assigned stand. Again the murmuring took place as Kloozuck got ready to prepare his counter argument…

Sample 3: Final Decision

The Primarchs settled back in as Alakyrr took center stage. “ The time for debate is over, fellow Primarchs. We must make a choice now. Do we expand our horizons and meet with these outsiders or shall we remain in our system for now? Those in favor raise your hands” he said as he watched the others. Of course Zorphax raised his hand, along with the Primarch of Betahezin, Vorryn. Not unusual as both Primarchs controlled worlds full of life and wished to see what lay beyond the system.

“Now those not in favor raise your hands” Alakyrr said, eying Kloozuck who stook his hand up immediately. Next to him, the Primarch of Sinzin, Lakkucoa. Again no surprise, as Lakkucoa was a Primarch of one of the colonies of Kloozuck’s world and was voted into the High Primarchs thanks to help from Kloozuck. That and both worlds where considered resource rich planets, with both Primarch’s feeling they would have to most to lose in an alliance with outsiders or a war. What did surprise him however, is that Matikah of Cinzin abstained from voting. He assumed both sides had tried to convince her to join their cause. Since she was the newest and only female High Primarch at the moment, she was still finding her place among the council.

The vote was deadlocked and now it was up to Alakyrr to choose. With a heavy sigh he spoke. “ I will cast my vote but no doubt you will want to hear my reasoning. I vote for joining this Alliance” he said as he raised his hands to quiet any commotion. “ Both sides have valid points. We cannot remain in the Corpus system forever, sooner or later we will have to expand as our colonies grow and resources run out. That will mean we will eventually run into other Xenohez, hostile or not. It would be a good idea to join this Alliance and gain a better view of the larger galaxy”

Alakyrr paused for a moment before looking at the dissenters to this. “ However, it is also correct to say we should not blindly trust this Alliance. We will need to be cautious with them. We will need restrictions that we will discuss at a later time and lift them when we feel we can trust them. Thus I vote for joining this Alliance but maintain a cautious approach before putting too much faith in them. We will begin to prepare a small diplomatic party. Each High Primarch will be able to send a representative of their own to oversee the first contact. Begin constructing your teams immediately…”
