I haven't really pushed for Mall's resignation, but come on. Mall wouldn't have the power to close this thread or ban any of us. Nobody here has broken the rules; those who have should receive the appropriate punishment. Calling for somebody's resignation and making a thread highlighting their perceived misconduct is not against the rules in any way. If this thread was locked simply because people called for Mall's resignation, that would be an even more legitimate reason to call for the same.

No they don't. So long as we conduct ourselves in a proper manner, Mall does not have good reason to do such, and if they do then it would be counterproductive for their career as mod.

I save national data (WIP factbooks, planning, the like) and the longest of IC posts offline. I don't backup every single RP post I make on this website, no-one does. No-one could.

I don't back up anything. The only time I'll save a post offline is when I'm not ready to make it (usually thread OPs that I don't want to post yet, I rarely don't write posts in one sitting) yet.

Quite a bit of the stuff that I save stuff offline is saved because it's not ready (WIP factbooks, for example) or because it's actually been written in Notepad or Word.

The point is that nobody backs up large portions of their RP work. I'm being frank when I say that I just don't see any reason why we should.

I do not RP with this nation anymore, but am still an active roleplayer with another nation that I wish to remain anonymous due to ethical mistakes I made with this nation that I do not want reflected on my RP nation.

The defenders, who would likely have worked very effectively against this liberation proposal even if none of this hullabaloo had taken place, also exist. Nonetheless, it would be interesting to see how those raiders respond.

I don't see why you're enjoying it when he can't for 2 simple reasons. We haven't broken any rules, and him shutting down the thread 'instantly' and banning anyone would be an undeniable conflict of interest.
