The fall of the Roman Empire and Neros in Russia was a surprise. Kamchatka Krai, located to south of the Borough of Chukotka was now with without government. The location of the Oblast to the Motos made it a important objective to the national security of the Alaskan people. This was to be the second operation in Russia with the first resulting in the seizure of Chukotka. The operation was split into two parts, units in Beringovsky would move into the Oblast from the north while forces from the Aleutians capture the Commander Islands. The HQ for the operation was placed at Beringovsky. The area had a larger population and the military had to tread carefully during the operation, there was no idea what would happen. The Northern Forces was made up of the 2th and 4th Mechanized Brigades and the Aleutian force was made up of the 2nd Infantry Regiment. The order was given and the forces moved on their objectives.

Aleutian Force
Near the Commander Islands

The Aleutian Force was tasked with capturing the Commander Islands. The largest island, Bering Island had a airport which would be helpful for the forces in the capture of the Oblast. The city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky was given to the Aleutian force, it was the most important objective of the operation. The force left Attu and head towards the first island, Medny which would hit the exact moment, Northern Force would hit the mainland. The commander of Aleutian Force was Colonel Roman Mikhailov, a Russian officer would joined the Alaskan Army after Operation Guardian. He was placed in command of the 2nd Infantry Regiment for the operation, due to his knowledge of the area. Due to the previous owner, it was suspected there would be some interesting things, that would result in some charges. The force departed in LCACs and LSTs to their objectives.

It would clear to anyone that something was up and what it was would be known soon. Northern Force, under the commander of Brigadier General Russell Turner departed from Chukotka for their objectives.

With the fall of the Roman Empire and Nero governments in Russia. The Alaskan government has decided to intervene in Kamchatka Oblast. The area has strategic value in the defense of the Republic.

Classification Levels

Standard: Standard classification is the normal level of encryption. It is equivalent to the standard levels of encryption seen on most secure e-mail clients.

Confidential: Confidential classification is a higher level of encryption than "Standard" but it is not heavily encrypted. It is used mostly for flash traffic to foreign countries and requires some additional decoding time. It uses 512-bit RSA encryption methods and has several key ciphers that change unpredictably.

Secure: Secure communiques use 1024-bit RSA encryption and several key ciphers within them that change unpredictably to ensure that message traffic is not hacked or decoded. Access to said messages would require heavy cracking software and significant resources but it is not "uncrackable." It can be a viable level through 2010.

Encrypted: Encrypted classification is the second highest level of classification. It is uses 2048-bit RSA encryption and multiple key ciphers within it to ensure that cracking it would take such a significant amount of time to accomplish that, should it be done, the message's usefulness would have already expired. Though anything is crackable, because of the methods employed, this level is often considered "uncrackable" by current capabilities. To ensure revolving protecting, ciphers and encryption algorithms will change unpredictably. This level is sufficient until 2030.

Maximum: Maximum classification is the highest level of classification available. It uses 3072-bit RSA encryption and multiple key ciphers that change unpredictably. It can provide protection past 2030.

Experimental: Currently not a fully recognized level, experimental denotes a category using 15360-bit RSA encryption and multiple key ciphers that change unpredictably. It is not in full operational use as of yet.

The statement from Layarteb was welcomed. The first objective was Medny Island, the smallest island in the Commander Islands. The island had no inhabitants and was easily captured, with the seizure of the island, the force moved on Bering Island, which had a Aleut population. The island had a population of 800, and would be a little harder. The Neros on the island were suspected hostile, and they would be treated as possible threats, but unless they did something, the Alaskans would not act hostile. As the forces landed, gunfire could be heard.

"What was that?"

"Sounded like gunfire"

"Moved up and be on your guard"

The forces moved up and came on to the village of Nikolskoye, where saw a group of soldiers firing on civilians. One of the men turned and saw the Alaskans, it was too late as the Alaskans fired at the men. They moved up and saw they had the same uniforms as the men up north.

They turned to the civilians and Roman asked them what was going on. They said that the soldiers were forcing the population to mainland, and they were killing any suspected "enemies." The rest of the population was in the city. A report was sent to command and they prepared for the main objective, The city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Northern Force

Northern Force landed in the northeast of the oblast. The operation in the south was moving good. They were to support the forces in the south. The North Force was the largest element in the operation, with two brigades. They began their run to the south, to get in position before the Aleutian Force moved on the city. The Northern Force had MGS which would be effected against the tanks they expected, in case they had more advanced tanks, there were F15Es on call. They passed through villages, it was determined that the Neros had taken up positions around the city. So, has they neared. they prepared for a fight for the city.

Village 10mi outside of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Kamchatka

The units now prepared for the biggest part of the operation, the seizure of the city. Northern Force was coming from the south and Aleutian Force from the east. The plan was to catch the enemy off guard. The MGS of E and F Companies of the 2nd led the forces; reports stated a number of T-72s in the area. The M1128 Mobile Gun System was a 105mm M68 gun with an autoloader mounted on a Stryker APC. They were used as tank destroyers and support elements for infantry units. They were ordered to move ahead and ambush a unit of T-72s that were near the edge of the city. The vehicles took up positions, and when the first T-72 appeared, they engaged with APFSDS rounds, knocking out most of armor, and rest pulled back. The forces moved up to enter the city and take part in its capture.

“Ok, everybody on their guard. They know we are here, watch the windows.” A commander of Stryker radioed

Mikhailov’s force moved from the east. Missile boats were providing cover fire while a group of F-15s flew CAP over the city. A previous strike knocked out most of the AD around the city. The city was important to the fact; it held the largest sub base in Russia, which was an important base for Alaskan forces in case of war. As they landed they were greeted by gunfire from some buildings.

“Damnit, where’s air support!”

“It had to return to refuel”

“Shit, we need to clear those buildings”

Then a shell hit one of the buildings, as M1128 appeared.

“What unit are you.” He yelled at a soldier supporting the vehicle.

“E Company, 2nd Mechanized Brigade“

“Northern Force”

“Yea, you sir?”

“A”

“Oh the island hoppers”

“Yea”

“Radio, command, tell them we are running around the city.”

“Yes, sir”
“Sir, Command says we are to capture the base and the airport.”

“Didn’t Russell get it?”

“No, Sir”

“Get me the General”

“Russell, The airport.”

“Who is this, wait Mikhailov?”

“Yea.”

“Oh, the airport, I got guys at it. It seems the commander of it just handed it over.”

“I see”

“Ok. Support us as we try to get the sub base.”

“Hurry, Intel says their might be a boomer there.”

“You’re kidding”

“No, Colonel. There is a possible SSBN at the base.”

“Great”

He handed the radio back.

“Bad news guys and gals, somebody left a nuke at the base.”

The troops looked around and one spoke.

“A nuke boat, sir? As in a SSBN.”

“Yes”

The regiment was now moved to the base. The idea of a SSBN in an enemy base during the operation was bad, to the fact it may be activate and loaded with missiles. The base became the number one target of the regiment and they had to hurry before a missile could be launched at anyone including Alaska.

Rybachy Nuclear Submarine Base, Near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky

The submarine base was a massive base. It was the largest naval base in Russia, and that made it a tough nut to crack. The plan was for fighters to take any targets that were threats to the troops. After the strike, the forces entered the base. The objective was to capture the command center and any vessels in port, the regiment split up in different units and began to seizure each of the objectives. Mikhailov led the group he selected to aid with the capture of the suspected SSBN. They found the sub in port, it was a Delta class, and looked like it seen better days. As they approached, they notice a group of men near vessel with weapons, they weren't Alaskans and they had a group of civilians with them.

"What are they doing?"

"I don't know, Colonel"

"They don't like like hostages."

"I think they are government officials, bad ones"

"I agree, Colonel"

They decided to approach them slowly and catch them off guard. As they neared, Roman could hear them talking.

"So, whats the report from the city."

"Our forces are hold them off, but a regiment was reporting heading towards us."

"So, we will be gone before they get here."

Roman decided to give them a surprise. They troops came up to the men with weapons draw. One of the Neros aimed his weapon.

"Drop Them" was the order from Roman

The Alaskans fired, taking down the enemy troops. The officials decided to just give up, hoping they were more merciful then the Cots. Roman questioned the leader of the group, who inform him that he was the leader of the Oblast, after his group seized the city. He told them that the sub were rusting away except for one which was keep in service for a planned liberation of "their real homeland", a reference to the nation before it's fall and the Cottish invasion and the rise of No Taxes.

"Command, we got the leader of the area. He and some members of his group tried to flee in a nuke. One sub was operational, but it was one of the first we got."

"Ok, we are not yet done. The base is still full of enemies. Let's found that operational sub."

They moved out to secure more areas. Another group had discovered the sub, and now was planning to seize it. A platoon led by Lieutenant Foxwell was preparing to search the interior.

"Ok, men it will be tight inside. Pistols and carbines, the M18s will be a little large inside, so Williams and Lander, keep your M18s. The rest use pistols and carbines if have any, let's go."

Williams and Lander were first and the rest followed. The command deck was empty, and the two led the platoon towards the missile control, by passing through the room.

"Look at these things, are the missiles operational"

"According to the Colonel, they are."

"Crap"

'we need to seize the controls, so they can't launch."

They neared the missile control, were there definitely people. They neared the room when a man with a rifle appeared.

"Drop it, buddy."

"Friendly" the man responded in English

"My ass."

"FIA"

Foxwell dropped his weapon, and the men did the same.

"Wait, we didn't know you guys were here."

"Yea, we came with you."

He grabbed his radio.

"Colonel, where you inform of any special friends in the Reg."

"No, why?"

"FOXHOUND was tagging along with us. They went to the sub first."

"Are you serious, Roger"

"Yea, a Mr." He looked at the man, who replied with his codename, "Fox is here with his friends"

"You and Mr. Fox and his men need to come here. We are having problem with the command center."

The troops left the sub and headed towards the command center were a battle was going on between the Regiment and the rest of the Nero forces at the base.b They arrived to see the Russian taking cover behind a truck.

"The damn sobs have locked themselves in the building and will not come out. We need to get in there and see if there are any subs at sea."

"Any ideas, Colonel?"

"Yea, you and Mr. Fox and some of the other platoons, go around."

"Where's Captain Heinz?"

"He's with the other platoons."

"Ok"

Foxwell, Fox and the troops went around the building to Heinz's position.

"Foxwell, there you are and you have friends. I believe the Colonel tell you the plan."

"Yea"

"Ok, Let's go"

The men lined up at the door, and Foxwell opened the door and tossed a grenade in. The blast went off, and they entered, taking out any armed soldiers still standing. Sounds of Mikhailov's force coming through the other side could heard. The troops cleared the rooms and found the comm. room. They found out that there were no subs at sea. It seems the leader was right, and the sub was the only one operational. They also discovered the names of men responsible for some kind of operation called "Clean Land", in what is now Cottish land.

"Well, the Cots might be interest in this."

"Why"

"it's the name of men behind what looks like ethic cleansing of the area."

"Are you sure?"

"Sargent, it's called Operation Clean Land. Unless the Neros were taking brooms to the dirt or environmental work with military officers. It's plans for mass murder."

"it seems these guys are linked to some Nero nationalist group. First north, now here. I believe they maybe behind the stuff in the west."

Then Mikhailov came in, and they showed him the list.

"Well I'll be damned, the leader is on here."

"He has any ideas on this, Colonel"

"I'll ask him. Mr. Fox, wish to come with me."

"Yes, Colonel"

The men went outside to talk to the Nero leader. He looked at him, and when he saw the list in Roma's hand, his face turn to fear.

"What is Clean Land?"

The man decided it was not worth it.

"it was a plan me and a couple of officers came up with. To clean the land of .... non-Nerokians."

"Let me guess, you guys weren't part of the government."

"No, unlike the rest of the men, we wanted to kill them after the fall of our government. They caused this."

"Why west first?"

"Because that were our government was and it was quicker to start there."

"How you come here?"

"I was already here, and I was to conduct the operation here."

"So, when the Cots invaded?"

"We weren't ready for it and the operation didn't begin."

"That's all we needed."

Roman pulled his pistol and aimed at the men.

"You have under arrest for crimes."

A report was sent including the report on Operation Clean Land, which was send to the Cots. The city was nearly cleared, some pocket existed in the city, and where being clean out.

Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky

The fighting around city had turned to the favor of the Alaskans and they began pushing towards the government building. The leader was arrested as he tried to escape and the city's defense was falling and mopping up had began. What forces that were in the city were putting up a tough fight, but the force were pushing until they reached the building. The infantry forces entered the building where even more forces put up a fight. The operation had already had 20 killed and 50 injured, and the final toll was not known, but the Alaskans were definitely winning this battle. When news came out that the forces in the building have surrendered, the city was declared in Alaskan hands with a final count of 25 dead and 60 wounded. The Oblast was placed under the authority of Anadyr until a government could be established in the now Borough of Kamchatka. Susprisedly, the Motos had not made any statement during the operation, and the government deciding on what assets to place in the new borough.

Our Glorious Empire though is troubled by the threat to our national security that this latest piece of Alaskan expansion poses. We would ask that Kamchatka Oblast become a de-militarized province of the Alaskan Republic so that it does not become a serious threat to the Kurile Islands, Hokkaido and also a threat to future relations between our nations. Your failure to respond to our request for an embassy exchange prompts us to believe that this newest acquisition has been made to put pressure on our Empire which as you have no doubt is a problem for us and we hope that it can be resolved quickly.
