* Supreme Fuhrer Mael Radec Speech *

Image

Mael Radec: Hello, we would like to extend the helpful hands of The New Age Empire to Heldur, we are currently sending 5,000 assault soldiers and will be helping the Heldur only, we are against communism even if Heldur supports it, we will be establishing forts on Heldur and we will try to keep diplomatic relations good with Heldur, we support any fascist or national socialist empires helping Heldur and if so I would like to see if we can reach an agreement of peace between all Fascist or National Socialist nations. We would also like to (hopefully) make Heldur a helghast nation meaning that its main species is the race Helghan there we will also be bringing 500 Helghan settlers to build here. We will be capturing mutants and putting them in cages to be sent back to our scientists for possible assimilation into the empire's army and if this is possible we will use them as a "guard dog" so to speak. Our end goal here is to make establish a Helghan colony on Heldur and possibly be allies with Heldur and have influence in their political affairs.

(ooc: I will be showing pictures of what my soldiers look like if Heldur agrees with what I proposed)

GAmeTopian beachhead

The beaches of Heldur were miserable and windswept, Heldur was far from the equator and it's temperature was cold at best, something the local apocalypse had not changed. As the GAmeTipians headed inland, crossing mounds of dirt and sand, they came upon Heldurs interior. Unlike the dead beaches, they found an extensive swampland, the plant life was notably dark in colour, dark browns and blacks were common and the entire land seemed to smoulder at times, but there were hints of green that didn't glow in the dark, moss and the beginnings of other forms of plant life that were not black in colour.

The skies were filled with birds and other less recognisable creatures and the swamps were teeming with noise, growls, croaks, snarls and other noises. The land was far from barren, that much was certain. And it was only a matter of time before the local wildlife, hungry as always would come to 'greet' the newcomers.

Varhall

Roves came over to look at Archer, everyone could tell he was concerned. 'Weird things happen on the surface. And in the tunnels for that matter, I've seen this sort of thing before, but never heard of someone seeing something, normally they awake not knowing a thing about what happened.' Roves looked at Ghost, 'I've suddenly lost all thought that we are safe up here. We need to keep pressing on, will he be okay?' He asked gesturing to Archer as the sniper picked his weapon back up.

Their journey eventually brought the group to the entrance of an old Metro Station, the steps leading underground were free of debris and the entrance looked less depressing than many other places in the city, notably from the visible fire drum in what had once been a ticket booth. The entrance was protected by an old, rusting chain link fence, held closed by an old lock. Roves produced the key and in moments they were heading down into the depths of the Metro, Roves locking the gate behind them.

When they came upon the pneumatic doors, Roves proceeded to knock on the enormous metal door in a specific series that must have been a code, in a few moments they began the open slowly, the great mechanisms which powered them clunking and grinding as they forced the portal open.
'Welcome to Able Station' Roves announced as the group wandered into the station. Onlookers stared in disbelief at the foreign soldiers, in Metro lore, Stalkers were often seen like Knights from the old days, going onto the surface armoured in plated metal and armed with the best weapons, but the armoured stalkers looked almost like children in comparison.

Drowned Station

The two men nodded in understanding, 'if your superior is willing to come here, he would be more than welcome to make the journey. In the meantime we will begin outfitting a caravan to escort you throughout our territory, even the Brotherhood cannot enforce order upon certain tunnels so we must insist on sending an escort. Strange things befall small groups in a number of tunnels, strange and dark things.'

The two men saluted Dart and Gotze in the traditional manner of the Brotherhood and the Helduri Army before that, by tapping their fist against their heart, before bowing to both the men, 'If that is all gentlemen, we are sure all four of us have much to do, if you require any supplies before heading out by all means feel free to rest in the station for the night.'

Able Station

Ghost removed his gas mask and stepped into Able Station. Instantly, he remembered when he was in middle school. He had to give a presentation to a group of elementary schoolers, and when he walked into the class, they all looked up at him in awe. That was what was happening now. The Heldurans were both in awe as well as scared, not knowing who they were. "We come in peace and mean no harm," he said in a loud, clear voice. "We are here to help you. We will provide humanitarian assistance to all who need it." That was a good way to start things off.

He turned to Roves. "I would like to meet Able Station's leader, and if possible, the leaders of this 'Dochas' you mentioned earlier."

"Should we turn away"

"Yup"

Meanwhile, at the Raptor Inc. base, they decide that they will have to burn more of the marshland surrounding the in construction reactor and the base. The three Silent Eagles change their path to the base, and ready their missiles and bombs they prepared in the case of violent contact with the West Aurelians.

International Waters, Outside of Heldur

The F/A-36s escorted the F-15SEs until they were a good distance away, and then turned around. "Leviathan, the Raptor, Inc. jets are no longer a threat, we are coming in for landing," the lead pilot said. He opened a channel to his wingmen. "What the hell is a private company doing with fighter planes?! The analysts back home better be working on this."

Able Station

Ghost's voice carried well over the station, within moments people were flooding towards Ghost and his team for a better look, they cheered and cried out in joy at his words and Roves had to order his men, as well as those who had been on guard duty to prevent the crowd from rushing them, the grim faced soldiers kept the people back, but never resorted to force, Ghost could see from the reaction to this was one of surprise, the inhabitants here were clearly not used to a heavy handed security force at all. He could imagine from the look of the place that it was normally very orderly, the station had set up proper electrical lighting, many of which looked like Christmas decorations of some kind, strings of small lights running along the roof.

Able Station was very much a trade orientated station, the platform was filled with small stores selling things of all kinds, relics from the past, food and all kinds of things, some of which were surprising to see considering Heldurs current state.
The currency, as far as Ghost and his men could tell were bullets, or just weapon projectiles in general as shop owners eagerly accepted shotgun shells as readily as regular rounds for rifles, pistols and other weapons.

As soon as the Watch Captain and his men had begun to disperse the crowd somewhat Roves turned back to Ghost, 'certainly. The Administration should be in session at the moment and I would be surprised if they were not willing to postpone some of their concerns until later to greet you. I'll send one of my men to alert them, but I think it best if we postpone meeting with them, I'm sure they'll need some time to prepare.' Roves turned to regard both his Stalkers and Ghost's team, 'who's up for a drink. I think we have time for one while we wait and I'm buying.' The Stalkers whooped and cheered in reply, grins all around, there was nothing better than a drink after a surface mission.

Able Station

Ghost and his team accepted Roves' offer of a drink. While they had their own supply of water, they were trying to be polite and were curious as to what they drank here. As they followed Roves to some sort of stall, he contemplated calling in a supply drop which would contain food, water, medical supplies, weapons, ammo, and the like. The Department could easily organize one with their vast amount of resources. The inhabitants of Able Station would certainly benefit from it, but he wanted to meet with their leaders first. He wanted to be absolutely sure that they were non-hostile or that they wouldn't claim the supplies for themselves and not give any to their citizens.

President Yara Gregovich was chatting with her sister's Lazia and Lena about numerous things, along with looking through secret files only shown to the President and people she wants to show them to, mainly about experiments and such other things. However, there fun time reviewing files from 1947 ended when Yara's secretary, Dmitra Merikov, came dashing in, clutching a sheet of paper. They all immediately turned towards her, "What on earth is wrong Dmitra?" asked Yara, beginning to walk towards Dmitra, who had now stopped in the middle of the office. "It-it-it's a message, from a place apparently abandoned and destroyed in the 70's!" replied Dmitra, staring at Yara. Dmitra handed over the sheet of paper, saying to Yara "Turn on this frequency. Quick!". Yara took out her Blume X8 phone, and used the radio app, and turned on the frequency and listened to the message, barely audible through the static. Yara, keeping the frequency on, walked towards the computer on her desk, a 30" all-in-one Blume G5. It was already on, and she used the radio application on it, and then tried to trace the radio signal. All she got was Heldur, no other detailed location. She jogged towards the records shelf in her office, and once she reached it, she told Lena to look up Heldur, and then thanked Dmitra and Dmitra left the office. "There's nothing about Heldur here Yara!" called out Lena, looking up at Yara, who was now on a library ladder, who pulled out a hefty book, named 1978. "Dmitra said Heldur being destroyed in the 1970's. With a bit of luck, we'll find the right international happening book for Heldur!" said Yara, pulling open the massive book as she reached a small table by the shelves. Lena jogged over to her, with Lazia staring at the computer, now searching the internet, not much on Heldur.

"Aha!" exclaimed Yara, flicking to page 350. "Heldur, 1978!" she said, grinning at the strike of luck that she took out the right book. "Destroyed by nukes.. By god. Hey, it's uninhabited apparently... It doesn't seem so... LAZIA! CHECK IF COORDINATES ARE ON THE TRACER!" called out Lena, with Yara still looking at it. "Yeah, why?" she replied, with Yara calling out there was none in the book. After getting the coordinates, she told the secretary to send the message to the head of military, Xia Wohan to sent military to the island.

Around 100 kilometres away

A fleet of 10 VIK-19 military helicopters were on there way to the island, flying fast.

Hello! People of Heldur! We Have Landed! WE will first begin with the start of a fort with barbed wire surrounding it but we have not chosen a location for were we will be setting up this fort, which is why we would like to ask you where we should put this fort, it will be our base of operations and will have citizens living near it that will be protected by guard towers and forts. Also, we would like to speak with Heldur's "leader" so we can start establishing what your people need. We will also be supporting any fascist or National Socialist's in anything against Communist or Capitalist nations. We are very used to harsh climates therefore it will not be very hard to get used to this place. We will be sending in more troops and citizens soon, most likely 10,000-50,000 soldiers but we have not been able to count a reasonable amount of "volunteers" in the Heldur Colonoization Mission but we will undoubtedly be send more troops and citizens in the help of rebuilding Heldur as a mighty Fascist Nation! (if heldur does not become fascist or anything near it we will not support them as much as we would like to)

Also I will be making another announcement, we will be putting propaganda around to join us in our war against communism and capitalism, we are currently organizing a squad of Citizens from Heldur to join us, they will be recognized as troopers on our side and for the time being will be used to place our propaganda around Heldur and inform citizens of the coming Assimilation of Heldur as a (hopefully) Helghan country! This Heldur "militia" of sorts will be lead by Helghast generals and will be armed after they have proven themselves to us as loyal.

The helicopter in front, named "Ell" reached the north of Heldur, slowing down and beginning to descend. Flying it were Maya Hozi and Lokin Kiko, along with 10 other soldiers. the 9 others followed each other in a line, coming in to land. Ell touched down, at a extremely slow speed, with the next helicopter flying over it and landing in front of it and so on.

Maya hopped out, and looked around. Nothing much. Most of the soldiers had disembarked the helicopters, and now most were beginning to wander around. And out of the fifth helicopter came Lena Gregovich, all dressed up in her military uniform, her brown hair tied back into a bun. She was the leader of the operation, and was highly respected not only because she was a brilliant soldier, but also the sister of President Yara Gregovich. "God. Worse then I expected!" she said to Maya, who had jogged over to her, and nodded in agreement.

Able Station

The stall vendor greeted Roves by name and the men shook hands, Roves hefted a large bag onto the man's counter, when the vendor opened it, the contents were revealed to be a bag full of chopped firewood. 'I'd like to buy all my friends here a drink,' Roves declared as the vendor examined the firewood. The man grinned, 'but of course Captain.'
The vendor looked over at the number of Stalkers and foreign soldiers, mentally counting them all, after a moment he bent down beneath his stall and produced a number of glass mugs. 'What will you have my friends!' He called, 'Uncle Torvald has clean water, cleanest in all Able! He also has a number of potent spirits and even some Surface wine from before the bombs fell. The stuff is exquisite!'

Heldur

The The New Age Empire's broadcast was met primarily with silence, few Helduran people listened in for broadcasts on the surface, few people ever went up there to begin with. And those who did listen were surprised, or frightened and no response came, this strange voice spoke of things the inhabitants did not understand.
The first Helghast soldiers to arrive however, did not find the Island as quiet as the response to their broadcasts. Horrific mutants crawled throughout the ruins, a squad investigating an apartment block was found later on as little more than skeletons covered in slime, their flesh had been melted off of the bone. None of the men who found them volunteered to investigate the ominous slime trail heading towards, and away from the hapless soldiers.
Other squads found themselves beset by mutants running on all fours like some sort of irradiated and horrific dog. Others merely found themselves being watched by creepy, lithe and statue like creatures, dogging their every step, but never moving when Helghast eyes were upon them.
Other squads still wandered off into the distance never to be heard from again, something on the island seemed to affect people, giving them visions, hallucinations or outright causing them to break down in terror or otherwise react strangely.
Heldur was well and truly a hell hole.
The Helghast were quickly coming to learn why they had seen so little human activity on the surface.

United Regions of Verona Landing Zone

It didn't take long for the 'native' denizens of Heldur to investigate, they were drawn to the noise of the helicopters engines like moths to a flame. Grotesque, statue like creatures appeared in the distance, peering out of windows, from around corners or at the end of streets, the creatures made no effort to engage or close in on the arrayed group of Veronan soldiers, but they were beginning to get the distinct feeling that remaining in the open like they were, was a bad idea.

Forward Operating Base, Varhall Docklands

Major Abney looked at the 2 Force Protection Cougars, 1 with a .50 M2 Browning Machine Gun, the other equipped with a BGM-71 TOW Launcher, as they and a MOWAG Piranha 4x4 were loaded up with troops, to rescue Hawk 7 and his Gunner. "You there, yes, you! Did you load the Browning with AP rounds?" Abney yelled over the roar of the engines to the gunner on the first Cougar. "Yes, Sir, we're also packing Incindedary, as well as normal rounds!" The soldier replied, checking the box on the side of the M2. "Good. Just remember, if you see any mutants, open fire!" Abney said, knocking on the Piranha's armor. "Godspeed, men!" Abney saluted, as the Convoy headed into Varhall, with the Piranha taking the lead.

Southern Varhall

The Pilot leaned up against a wall, not daring to do so much as breath, as one of unidentified soldiers was directly to the left of him. He just hoped he had chose his cover wisely. Aw, screw it, he thought, better to announce ourselves and have a chance of survival than waiting for them to notice us, and probably kill us on sight. "Hey, you there!" The pilot said, and immediately all of the soldiers were facing in his direction. He could feel the sweat all over his body, hidden beneath his jumpsuit. "Don't kill me, I'll put my gun down, you put yours down, Okay?" he said in his best soothing tone, slowly leaning down, placing his M9 on the cold, damp concrete. He just caught a glimpse of his gunner, just noticeable against a dark wall, as the Pilot put his hands in the air. He could only pray that the soldiers were friendly.

(in meeting)

"Hm, it seems as though its very odd on this island, hopefully we can try to figure out what is drawing our soldiers out to nowhere... Also I think it is high time to try to capture one of these mutants seeing as they are very violent, our biggest problem is that they are unpredictable and seem to act as a "pack" in the cities, I'm sure it would just be better to bomb these cities but that would surely anger the mutants and cause our soldiers on Heldur to flee... At the moment I think we should try to get a look into the underground caverns and establish contact with these people. If possible we might be able to learn more about this island from this natives. For now I suggest we try to find a big plains somewhere on the island to set up camp where t is safe. Maybe then we can try to get the natives to come out of the tunnels they call home. I think it is obvious the Heldur Cleansing Project will not be happening very soon seeing as Heldur typically has is very wild and unruly towards establishment and it would be best to settle and find information about this place. We might even want to make contact with The Fascist Republic of Bermuda if possible seeing as he is a acceptable ideology but we have yet to see how civil these people are and whether or not they will work with us. Further more it is time to establish a Leader of the colony we will be establishing in Heldur therefore we will be having a vote and a couple meetings discussing who we all think should lead the people of Heldur although it seems as though the people are quite distant we will most likely be able to establish contact with some people in Heldur and possibly get photo evidence of what the insides of these tunnels are. We will be deploying flame thrower troops to start controlled fires in some of these swamps or forests to possibly make them more suitable for human life to live there."

*squad 117*
Squad 117 is a exploring patrol group and is one of the only exploring group that has strayed from the main TNAE fort being established. it contains roughly 749 troops and are currently traveling through one of the destroyed towns that aren't very big but "seem" to be suitable for them to bunker up and and get rid of mutants in the area to establish a safe zone.

Squad leader

" Alright check every house and every room, make sure you look through the windows first and flash your flashlights in to see if anything is inside, if there are in there either shoot them until they are dead or throw in a grenade for the bigger groups of mutants. If you find any lone and weak or damaged ones report it to me so we can possibly bring it back to High Command for an analysis of these mutants to possibly reveal things about them. "

Able Station

The water was surprisingly clean. "Where do you get this from?" Ghost asked. Meanwhile, Scarecrow had already downed his water and was tending to some wounded citizens. They didn't seem to be very enthusiastic about it. "Don't worry, I'm a trained medic," he said, attempting to calm them down.

Site 14, Undisclosed Location

"Mr. President, you might want to take a look at this," Hale said, handing Hayes a folder.

Hayes opened it. Inside were satellite images of all military forces currently operating on Heldur. But one image was of particular concern. It showed a huge mass of tens of thousands of troops. "What in God's name…" he said, looking up at Hale.

"Helghans," Hale replied.

"What are they doing?"

"Intercepted communications suggest that they want to colonize Heldur, or at least make it a fascist puppet state," Hale explained.

"My God. We can't let that happen."

"We can't just bomb their forces, either. That would start a war, and we certainly don't need one."

"Indeed, Director. We should just monitor them for now. Intercept their communications."

"I'll get to it," Hale said, leaving the room.

----------FOB Topol----------

"... he wouldn't say sir. Building some sort of reactor sir" concluded Amroth

Colonel Castor turned away from the radio, drumming his fingers on the table. Why here? Surely there were better places to test build a reactor than this infested and polluted wasteland. Regardless, this will need to be kept in view.

"Thank you sergeant, return to Sergeant Amroth at the base site" Castor said. He didn't even wait for Amroth's affirmative before shutting off the radio and turning to Corporal Taldeer.

"Taldeer raise command. We need surveillance of that reactor"

"Yes sir" she replied before beginning to draft the encrypted message.

----------FOB Char----------

The report from Götze had done much to raise the morale of all in the FOB. Contact had been made with non-hostile survivors who had now offered to meet with their leadership. Gaunt had sent an encrypted message to FOB Topol relaying Gotze's report. He was confident the Colonel would attend the meeting. If not, it fell to him as the third most senior officer in Heldur. Admiral Quenya was the first, but Gaunt was incredibly sure he would not go. Besides, if there was one person Gaunt did not want to represent the Imperium to the Brotherhood, it was Quenya.

On top of all this, it meant FOB Char was no longer a strategic requirement and the troops could leave.

The troops slowly began returning equipment to the AW101's as they waited for the Colonel's go ahead for departure.

Marshlands surrounding Raptor Inc.'s base
The three F-15SEs have arrived and begin to fire their missiles at the marsh. Tails of red fury can be seen right behind the swift missiles as they near the gray marshland.

Space, right above Heldur
A gray satellite, with a fading "RAPTOR INC" printed on the right side of the craft and solar panels pointed towards the radiating sun aims down at Heldur, only to see thousands of Helghans operating in Heldur. Clarence Norman was surprised at such moves, and knowing that the Helghans may be a serious threat, Norman orders Stealth Drones to do reconnaissance on the Helghans.

OOC: I'm currently participating in two RPs at once, including one in the future where the president is Michael Jones, not Stephen Hayes. I just realized that I made a few mistakes in my previous post, calling the the president "Jones" (corrected as of now). Anytime you see the name "Jones," I really mean "Hayes."

Site 14, Undisclosed Location

An analyst walked into the room. "Mr. President, I have information on Raptor Inc.," he said.

"Good, bring it here," Hayes replied.

The analyst walked up and handed Hayes a folder, before leaving. Inside was an extensive document listing everything the analyst could find out about the company. On paper, it was an international energy company, specializing in nuclear power - specifically nuclear fusion. But the document also contained a list of secret dealings with Boeing, allowing it to acquire F-15SEs despite the fact that the fighter was still in the developmental phase. Its large amount of wealth from various energy contracts allowed it to acquire a competent mercenary army, which rivaled the armies of small nations in skill and military hardware.

This was very interesting indeed, although not illegal. Boeing had every right to deal with a private company. Raptor Inc. is based on a private island, so they operate under international law, and there are no international laws banning a private company from owning fighter planes. He would have to keep an eye on this one.

HAZENV Headquarters, Garganta de la Tierra

"Inform the deployed unit. It is now necessary."

The large screen covering the wall shut down. Officers returned to their stations from the briefing room. Orders were sent and received. It seems all eyes were on Heldur.

30km above Varhall, Heldur

The four Commandos held onto the metal railing running along the interior of the bomb bay. The room was depressurized, and they were breathing oxygen from their tanks. The doors opened, revealing empty sky, with the long black clouds that cover Heldur streaked across the earth beneath them.Checking each others harness, the team proceeded to jump into the void, plummeting towards the scorched country.

Crashed F-35, Varhall

Captain Webb flicked the analog switch under the lip of the canopy, arming the explosive bolts in-case he needed a distraction if it turned out these scavengers weren't friendly. He raised his hands above his head as he climbed out of the cockpit, stepping over the pile of shattered concrete the men had dug out from around the sides.

"I'm Captain Webb of the Garganta de la Tierran Hazardous Environment Corp." By the looks on the survivors faces he decided to drop the formality. "One of those flying bastards somehow got through the covers on the intakes and caused me to crash, do you lot know how to get to the people who inhabit the Airport or could you get me in contact with them? I need to let my people know I wasn't shot down so we don't start a war with the other people moving in on your country."

Varhall International Airport

"Here bite on this." PVT George put a rubber disk in the survivors mouth. "I'll only be a second." He rubbed a sachet of local anesthetic crystals into the wound, being gentle as the man flinched at every touch. Once they dissolved PVT George used a disposable scalpel to scrape away at the oozing flesh. Some sort of bacteria were infecting the wound and keeping it from healing. The Private looked over at Sargent Avery climbing in the back door and closing it, and had to stop his work as the vehicle jerked into life. Once the armoured personnel carrier was moving steadily PVT Logan George finished cutting, which just felt like a slight itch to his patient, and smeared some paste from a tube over the raw skin and open wound.

"That sealant paste will keep the air out like a bandage, and it will peel off when the wound scabs properly underneath, but you will have to put a bandage over it when that happens to stop it from becoming infected again. Also that paste doubles as antibiotics, so you shouldn't need to use any of your own supplies for the time being."

The Stryker pulled up by the hanger that Brash and his men indicated they had came from. Brash's people, PVT George, PVT Dagger, and CPL Michaels disembarked from the vehicle. The GDLT soldiers were carrying supplies as gifts for the survivors in exchange for the privilege of documenting their residence. The Helduri led the way to their people while the Stryker pulled away with the rest of the team and Brash.

Back at the landing zone the HAZENV unit soldiers were bagging bodies of the watchmen mutants that had been testing the perimeter. The dog like mutants were mainly leaving the group alone now, and had learned there was nothing to gain in trying to re-enter that section of the airport. Their pack's movement however had lured the Demons which had nested in some of the abandoned structures back, and the large flying creatures were circling around the far edge of the Airport, picking at the displaced watchmen. One juvenile Demon was even brave enough to steal a large rat like mutants corpse from a pile right in-front of a squad of HAZENV Soldiers. The 24 strong group decided to pull the perimeter back towards the staging area and to bag the bodies faster before scavenging turned to hunting.

Captain Sierra Jayden ended the call with HAZENV HQ. Heldur was now a potential war zone as well as a hell hole in her mind. she prepared the message she was to transmit.
To: Raptor Inc presence on Heldur
From: GDLT HAZENV Captain Sierra Jayden
I have been ordered by my command to inform you we are aware of your, and others, military presence in Heldur. If you have not already discovered there are civilians still present in this area making it still sovereign territory so we urge to remove all radiological material from Helduri soil. There is a Garganta de la Tierran Army specialist unit temporarily under my command coming to meet with you so we can create a proper channel of communication to understand each-others purposes. Exercise caution, for unprovoked military action will result in political ramifications neither of us want.

We also wish to put out an alert that one of our survey aircraft was downed over Varhall, and we are not sure on the circumstances of the event. Any information on this would be helpful. We are also obliged to inform you of a large colonization force of Helgast detected by Garganta de la Tierra's Satellites, and they are not far from your position. Our Intelligence service believes this force to be extremely hostile, so to prove our intentions are less than Malicious we will supply you with updates on their movements if you so request it.

Regards,
Captain Sierra Jayden - Garganta de la Tierran HAZENV Corp

this message was sent via a known Raptor Inc frequency, although not encrypted for fear the Raptor inc personnel would not receive it properly. Another message was prepared for broadcast on open channels.

Addressed to all foreign Military or otherwise present on Heldur

Caution, there are civilians still present on Heldur, and they are legally Helduri citizens. This makes this area sovereign land and actions in Heldur therefore should be directed in Aiding the reclamation and rehabilitation of the people here.

Attempting to claim this land is inadvisable both from a political and environmental standpoint. Colonization would be counted as an Invasion by most powers due to the native population still inhabiting this area, and the toxic environment is not to be trifled with. Garganta de la Tierra Cautions those on Heldur to re-evaluate your objectives before continuing. For those who have casualties the Garganta de la Tierran Navy is setting up a medical post on the uninhabited Atoll 135min Helicopter flight south of Heldur and is open to those who need immediate medical attention.

Aggression towards GDLT forces or the civilians of Heldur will result in an aggressive response

Inside the inflatable shelter the EOD specialists had lifted the Soviet warhead out of the mud with a chain pulley system and were examining an opened panel. The components of the warhead were all intact, only the power source had died, rendering the entire weapon a very expensive paperweight. The two specialists agreed that it would be an easy fix fro anyone who could deduce the fault was in the power pack, and that if there were others like this found that they could be re-weaponized. A report was filled out and sent back to their Amphibious Assault ship.

Uki, the boyfriend of Lena, jogged up to her. Both had met when they were just 15, and had since been in a relationship. "Herro Na!" he said, grinning. Before Lena could answer, Maya screamed. "MAYA! THE FUCK?" screamed Lena, who had also just seen the people. They didn't look right. Both calmed down immediately, they just were surprised that there actually was humans, if these people could be described so, surviving. Uki then said "Shit, this place is creepy..." in the language of Takiyami, which originally would have been "Kōja, zija unikō ni kīna...". Lena uncertainly looked at the buildings. She called over her most hated soldier, Kudan, and sent him over to the people, to see if they spoke english, since they most likely didn't speak any native Veronan language.

As Kudan got closer, he slowed and asked, "Er... Hello?"

Clarence Norman has received the messages, as such messages are to be delivered to upper command and he decides to respond to the message

From: Raptor Inc.
To: GDLT HAZENV Captain Sierra Jayden
ENCRYPTION: MAXIMUM

Due to the proximity of the Helghans, we have decided to focus on removing them rather than our nuclear fusion project. The construction of the walls and the reactor has been halted until the situation with the Helghans have been dealt with. However, we do not have any malicious intent with a fusion reactor, and we will not harm any civilians.

Onshore Base, Docklands

“What do you think about it, ma’am?” Major Beech asked Dr Prescott as they both sat in the base’s improvised lounge.

Of course, he was no longer the senior military officer of the Arthuristan presence here. With a whole carrier battlegroup in the waters and reinforced brigade of marines in the docklands, he has reverted to being only a company commander. However, Dr Prescott, as the senior Arthuristan SIB officer presence, retained overall oversight for the entire expedition. This was supposed to be mostly an intelligence and scientific mission, after all. The military element was only present in order to lend some much-needed muscle to the spooks and boffins.

“I think it’s time we give the GDLT people a finer understanding of international law, major.”

“Can’t say I disagree.”

TO: CO, GDLT forces, Heldur
Sir/Madam,

As the senior representative of His Highness’s government on Heldur, it is my responsibility to point out that your statement was based on a flawed understanding on the legal issues pertaining to the islanders. The previous, legitimate government of Heldur, as recognised by the international community, has ceased to exist. As such, this island is unclaimed by any power. The former territories of the nation of Heldur is properly characterised as terra nullius. Its inhabitants are stateless, that is to say, without citizenship or nationality.

Be that as it may, it is the aim of His Highness’s government to help the Heldurian people exercise their due rights of self-determination, preferably through the re-establishment of a viable, democratic government which exercises sovereignty over the former territories of the previous Heldurian state. If, in your judgement, these goals coincide with your government’s intentions for the island, then I suggest we cooperate to bring about a satisfactory outcome to the scenario.

Signed

Dr Francine Prescott
By order of the Arthuristan Foreign Ministry, commander of the Heldur Expedition

Wharf Station

It was days since Lieutenant Felix Simons led his lone patrol of SBS commandos here. Then, they’d been ordered to not enter the station in search of the last missing trooper. Now, with two full troops of the SBS backing up the search party, joined by a platoon-equivalent of Stalkers from a number of Commonwealth Ring stations, all armed to the teeth with tungsten AP bullets, AT rockets and automatic grenade launchers, he couldn’t help rather confident about their chances.

Of course, he was no longer the officer in overall command. With the newly arrived brigade taking over the fortified docklands zone, Major Beech himself had elected to lead the party.

“NVGs, check, thermals, check. We’re good to go, major.”

“Excellent. Assuming our local friends agree, let’s get started.”

*Mael Radec*

*announcing this to troops on Heldur*
"Hello! It has certainly been a while since we have talked but here are some important news for you all, the 10,000 assault troopers and 4,000 sniper have arrived! This also means we will be able to start a larger are of operations seeing as we have more men before. We will also be announcing the fact that we are seeing many nations that seem to dislike and even fear us, they should fear us! We will begin construction of satellites that will be a type of "radar" and we will be building anti air missiles just in case any of these vermin try to spy on us. For now we will have routine air radar checks to make sure no spies have entered our area of influence. Next objective, I have heard of somewhere called "Varhall" it seems as though many of the other nations are there so we will be be sending a group there, 750 assault soldiers and 250 snipers, we will not be attacking unless we are attacked we are simply reaching out into heldur to see who these people are so we can see who we are going to be rivals with and who we will support. It is advised to show caution towards any carriers that seem to be of westernized affiliation, also Raptor Inc., we do not agree with their ideals and they are too be "if attacked by them" killed. Also, we would like to announce the fact that we are against Sau Beiu, United Regions of Verona, and Arthurista, if we receive any distress calls, communications, etc you are to use them to your advantage and either spy on them or eliminate them quickly, we would not like to announce war with any of the previously mentioned countries but we are simply saying that we should not sow any type of friendliness towards these nations as their ideals on Heldur are not supported by us. If possible try to avoid these nations at all costs BUT if you see an opportunity to receive information than take it as we are in need of more information about these nations and we have not decided on whether or not we will be using our standard spying equipment or not."

*patrol squad heading to Varhall*

*Hadec Himmler IV*
*talking to the generals of this squad*
"Alright generals, we have 1000 troops here, 750 assault and 250 snipers so, where shall we head first? and in fact which form of transportation should we use? I would like to use land but Air could be good as well. The thing is I would like this to be as quiet as possible. We could try making contact and establishing a ceasefire with one nation but at the moment we are not sure of this yet. We might try to contact some of the other nations and establish a ceasefire so we are not attacked by surprise but, we will most likely not do this with any communist or socialist nations seeing as we simply are against communism and socialism, 100%."

MEGA POST

Postby Heldur » Thu Jul 03, 2014 9:33 pm

Southern Varhall

The soldiers spun around, their weapons leveled, but as soon as the pilot began to lower his weapon they all stepped forward, their own guns lowered.
'Hey wait, what are you doing?' One of the three soldiers hissed, 'are you insane, don't let that weapon leave your hand.' One of them glanced over at the remains of the crashed aircraft, he seemed to be a lot less in awe than you would have expected from a man who had lived most of his life underground.
'Foreigners.' He said quietly and his two companions nodded.

'It's about time we made contact with some of these guys.' One of the men said. 'Friends, keep your guns up while you're on the surface. Are you stuck here? We can get you somewhere safe if not.'

Squad 117's position, small Helduri town

The spread out buildings soon became somewhat of a death trap, a trio of soldiers found what appeared to be mutant bear cubs, within moments of them moving in to investigate they were beset by the mother bear which killed them all in moments, before going on a small rampage, killing almost a dozen more soldiers before retreating, heavily wounded into the nearby marshes with her cubs in tow.
A number of other groups of soldiers stopped reporting in after sighting mutants, upon investigation it appeared they had encountered yet more of the slime creatures.
The Statue like mutants also gave Squad 117 a lot of trouble, picking off lone, investigating soldiers, or pairs with worrying ease, the creatures moved quickly and silently and their dark skin camouflaged them well against the burnt remains of Heldur.
Great winged creatures would on occasion swoop down, grabbing a helpless soldier and carrying them off through the clouds. It was almost as if the island itself was fighting back.

Able Station

'Imports from the next station over,' Torvald replied, 'their purifier is still in mint condition, who knows how, but the underwater river they get their water from is very clean even without it. Cleanest in all the Metro maybe.'
Most of the Stalkers ordered something alcoholic, many of them preferred to get drunk after a mission to help them forget any horrors they'd encountered. Others did it in memory of other Stalkers, and friends who never made it back to the Tunnels.
After everyone had a round of drinks, Roves dismissed his men. He walked up to Ghost and his team as the Stalkers dispersed, some choosing to stay and get another drink while others set off in search of their loved ones.
'I think it's time we head over to the administration. Follow me.' Roves led them through the stations market and off of the platform itself. Soon enough they were making their way through the back corridors of the station, pasing by small apartments and storage closets. It was quickly apparent that the people here generally had important positions around the station, a few were doctors and medics, engineers, high ranking guards and members of the administrations board. The well to do were not seen in this part of the station.
Roves led them to a particular room, after exchanging a few words with the guard on duty he was given clearance to enter, as was Ghost's team.

'Just before we go in,' Roves spoke quickly, 'can we leave some of your men out here, the room isn't probably big enough to comfortably fit the administration as well as all of us.'

Crashed F-35, Varhall

'Why would anyone be over at the airport,' one of Pavel's men murmured, 'that's suicide, just nothing but marsh between the suburbs and there.'
Pavel gave the man a cold look to shut him up, it was an important day that they met a foreigner, he'd heard a number of the broadcasts they'd made, overheard a few more that weren't for his ears, but in the end he had not expected to see one, especially after watching this craft fall from the sky.

'Captain Pavel,' he said, extending a gloved hand to the pilot, 'CSH Army, or Communist Stations of Heldur to be precise. By flying bastards I take it you mean Demon. I'm not surprised, they're tough and they tend to ruin everything's day around here.' At the mention of starting a war, Pavel looked grim, 'can you not reach them with your own radio, surely you were given at least one, you're surely not rationing them out when you can ride through the sky with those machines. If not, then I can get you to an outpost with a reasonable radio, it's a bit of a march. Do you have any more gas mask filters and supplies? It might get a bit rough.'

Varhall International Airport

The patient looked over the paste with awe while his friend paid close attention to George's instructions.

The hangar was far away from the Terminal building where the vast majority of their people had been staying, but a number of them came out to greet the foreigners from the hangar. Inside the GDLT soldiers were greeted with a sight of wonderment.
An old passenger jet sat in the hangar, the aircraft was beat up badly and many of the panels had scarring on them, but the windows were slowly being replaced from other wrecks on the base and slowly but surely, the survivors had been rebuilding the plane.

Once they had shown the GDLT soldiers their grand work they led them to the Terminal building, inside they went straight for the basement, underneath they found a makeshift residence filled with what must be over half a dozen families and other assorted people. The air was stale down here, but breathable thanks to the buildings ventilation system. Well breathable enough for the Helduri people who were accustomed to not 100% clean air. The people fawned over the GDLT men, a festive spirit overtook the group as they opened the gifts they had been given, the children in the group were quick to begin showing the foreigners their home, giving them a guided tour of everything and everyone there.

There were not many of these people, but they seemed happy enough to be there. The survivors of a dying station.

Veronan landing zone

Unfortunately for Kudan, the creatures they had thought, from a distance to be human, were in actual fact bipedal mutants, their figures from afar appeared much like that of a human wearing dark clothing. As he drew closer it became apparent that they were not human at all, they looked grotesque and were covered in leathery skin, littered with strange growths and sores. Their eyes were big and black and each of their hands ended with a vicious set of claws.

Once he had drawn too close, a mutant leaped at him, it's claws raking across his bullet proof vest.

Wharf Station

The Stalkers looked nervous about being here, they'd all heard the horror stories about Wharf. Their commanding officer was a burly, imposing man with a number of scars, he looked more concerned than worried however, he couldn't help but feel a little confident considering all the firepower their new allies had brought along.

'We're all clear here.' He said, as he approached Beech, 'made the inspections myself before we left the Ring. We're in the clear here,'
The Commonwealth seemed to have spared no expense here, the Stalkers all had military grade weapons, the finest money could buy in Heldur, not a single one of them carried an improvised weapon save for the teams flamethrower, which had been finely crafted itself. Their armour was impressive, each Stalker wore a bulky suit of plate armour, custom fitted to their frame on top of the usual protective NBC suits. Each soldier was outfitted with a torch and a number were also given night vision goggles, they were very basic, early models, but the fact that they still worked at all showed just how well the Commonwealth looked after it's equipment.

The Stalkers led the way carefully, their torch lights piercing the gloom.

The station seemed dead on the inside, the red painted walls seemed too cheery a colour considering the usual white and grey colour scheme of the other stations, the rails were largely abandoned and there seemed no sign of the inhabitants who had dwelled here origionally.
'Platform is clear!' A Stalker shouted, 'should we begin investigating the side passages or not?' The Stalkers courage seemed to be building as no sign of the horrors previously encountered by investigating teams seemed to appear. For that they counted themselves lucky.
What is it like to live in Heldur you ask?

OOC: The New Age Empire, by West Aurelia, I assume that you mean the carrier strike group I deployed in international waters surrounding Heldur, as that is the only official West Aurelian presence. The Department unit currently in Heldur is on a classified mission and no one should know about it. And by Coldwater, I assume you mean Raptor Inc. as Coldwater is RPing as them.

"Understood," Ghost replied. He told Scarecrow, as the 2IC, to follow him into the meeting and the rest to stay behind. Just as they were about to enter the room, he picked up a message broadcast on an open channel.
