Well, because these are Spec Ops, the Undead will have to retain sooome motor functions. Like swinging pipe wrench. Or tackling. There will be thousands of them, headshots only, the usual. That's why the BSAA is going to help us. Or try.

Well, thankfully we aren't dealing with type R zombies from Outpost.

My soldiers are more used to Type T. But then again, in canon-lore, the base they trained to fight on is fabled to have an interdimensional porthole to hell.

Hrmm how about something like 28 days later or Cell Stephen King. Something that can run like the wind
but requires center mass shots for "immediate effect". Preferably in the CNS or brain.

The latter would be more of a threat, not due to being fast nor numerical superiority (which they did also have),
but due to a developing degree of sentience.

Just kidding – I wanted to check if anyone was actually reading this) but on a more serious note my tech is not to the point of PMT. I don't have Fallout power armor (yet), naval railguns, or things like that.[/i]

Land-based siege-railguns of 305mm and bigger are overrated, as the Parthians once admirably demonstrated by air-assaulting several fire-support bases with them.

Sure, we knocked out 75-100 tanks (and an even more ridiculous amount of elite paratroopers) that day with less than 60 people lost in action*... but each of those guns had cost a small fortune. Their payload was also more of a nuisance than an actual deterrent and could be likened to slapping a superpower with a frozen halibut.

Naval railguns... same story, much more vulnerable to getting sunk, and far less accurate.

My experience with orbital assets is that if any sufficiently advanced paranoid nation sees it, they'll shoot it down and claim you had a technical problem. Nations trying to be cute will even go so far as to launch a technical-truck into space. Only solution is attrition by making it cheaper and more worthwhile for you to send up orbital assets than it is for them to get shot-down, and keep them from being obvious game-changers, like UNIVAC. Also, metric crapload of decoys. ./

As for power armor... the laws of physics will hate you, and it won't take too long for them to find some way to kill it.

*Also, zombies. Because it was from an RP set in Oct of '06. One of the last proposed uses of the cannon was to launch zombies at other people with them, but our zombies were different, so we simply upgraded them to IGNORE-status.

Someone's gonna hate my railgun-armed destroyers....

And my power armor....

And my orbital space station and orbital kinetic weapons platforms and extensive satellite systems..

Also as all zombie movies and video games and books have shown us. The undead cannot use weapons.

No no no. Your basic garden-level zombies can't use weapons, but as the zombies get stronger they get smarter (except for the strongest type of zombie, which is required by international law to be dumber than a sack of rocks that has spent most of its life sniffing glue).

So is there a final concensus? Also, because it references you guys, hers my latest post concerning the Rangers and ATLAS:

Our Lady of Hope Hospital, Madrigal, New Sylvan Republic

Stephen Cyr awoke to the gentle beeping of his heart monitor. The sound was stable, periodic, and relaxing. He opened his eyes, and observed his surroundings – he was in a hospital bed. On a desk next to him sat flowers, fresh ones. The blinds on the window where open, and Cyr could see the sparkling blue waters of the Strachan Sea. The squawk of seabirds could be heard even from here, interrupted by the blowing of a ship’s horn – in the middle of the harbor sat the NSRS Resolute, the newest carrier in the fleet. He then realized he was in Madrigal, in South Carmi – more than three thousand miles from the Northern Collectives.

He sat up in the bed, and groaned as a familiar sore pain returned. A nurse, looking in from outside, was clearly alarmed and rushed into the room. “Mr. Cyr!” She said. “Please, be careful!”

“I’m fine,” he said. “Really. It’s just soreness…”

“You are still healing,” she said. “It’s been a week, as of today. You are prescribed to bedrest for the next month.”

Fuck that, Cyr thought. “I need to go back,” he said. “Emily…Silus…and Andraz…and does Felicity know? Does my wife know I’m here?”

“Yes, but she couldn’t make it.”

“Couldn’t make it? I’m on my fucking deathbed and she couldn’t make it?” His heart rate shot up considerably.

“Mr. Cyr, please,” the nurse said. “That’s okay, Ms. Reiter,” a new voice said. It was a male doctor, in his late fifties, flanked by a uniformed woman and a man in a suit, none of whom Cyr recognized, although the man in a suit looked familiar. He spoke first.

“Your wife was granted a marriage annulment two days after receiving the news of your hospitalization. Unfortunately, with you in a coma, the judge granted it and allowed her to keep everything – the house, the car, and the kid. I’m sorry.”

Cyr didn’t know what to say. An awkward silence sat in. Ten years of marriage, ended. Just like that. And the house…he was so close to paying it off! Not to mention little Kyle…

“But I have some good news!” he continued, optimistically. He handed Cyr a carefully handwritten note, and a small box.

Dear Stephen;

Your actions in combat near St. Matthew, and in Freeport, The Northern Collectives, are exemplarily to say the least. Please acknowledge this as a token of thanks from the Republic for your services in her defense.

It is my honor to present you with the Alexander Cross, an award given to those wounded in the line of duty who showed conspicuous courage on the battlefield despite their injuries.

Sincerely, and God Bless,

President Michael Delacroix

“Sir!” Cyr said, trying to straighten in his seat and salute. The pain in his chest prevented him.

“Easy, easy now.” Delacroix said, smiled. “Open the box,”

Cyr did as he was told. Inside were four different objects – one was the Alexander Cross. Another were two silver bars – the emblem of a First Lieutenant. The final object surprised him the most – a golden bear’s skull emblem. The symbol, he realized, of a New Sylvan Republic Ranger.

“Wait,” he said. “The Rangers?”

“That is correct,” the uniformed woman said. Cyr took a closer look at her. She wore a neatly pressed dress uniform with numerous awards, campaign ribbons, and medals pinned to both sides. Her blonde hair was pulled back behind her head and her stark blue eyes were in a sharp contrast to the khaki brown of her uniform. Her nametag read: CLARKE, and he recognized her instantly.

“Lt. General Clarke,” He said, amazed. She had a combat track record as long as a supercarrier. “It’s…an honor!”

“Thank you, Lieutenant,” she said. “And as much as id like to ask how you got a sword slice across your chest, a bullet in your leg, among other injuries, the NSR has a new job for you.”

She removed a large folder from her bag, tossing it on Cyr’s lap. It was heavier than expected. He read the front label.

PROJECT WARFIGHTER : ATLAS TEAM

The red letters CLASSIFIED were stamped ahead on top of them. He opened the file, and read the first page, entitled Operation : Olympia. After action reports, sattelite footage – it all painted a very clear picture. ATLAS was a special forces team, made up of multiple nations for the purpose of saving human life. It was led by the New Emmerian Coalition, and hq’d on their NEC Revelation, a supercarrier, coincidentally, with the same namesake as a Sylvan aircraft carrier.

“The Rangers are sending a team to join up with ATLAS. I’ve read your reports – all of them. You were a gunship pilot with the 805th Airmobile during the Sidonian War, shot down, and survived, for nearly two weeks. Not to mention that little rebellion you started in Jacinto, and your operations with DIS in the Collectives. It’s this kind of skill, experience, and tenacity that ATLAS needs. We’d like you to become our team’s pilot.”

All Cyr could do was nod yes.

Time to go zombie hunting, Atlas.

ALSO, IC it is not called Project Warfighter. It's just Task Force Atlas. Just Task Force Atlas. Remember, some of us are already overrun. This RP isn't canon unless you want it to be, so don't worry about sending people into the grinder.

Nah, I meant like, lock da drama down. Drama can destroy a region, if it spreads to OOC. Like the zombie virus, if it spreads, destroys regions.

Just edit it a bit, that banter can still be going on in the carrier. Then shit hits the fan near med bay. One of the big points of the RP is not being that well equipped. Or you can deal with Emmerian Security as they try and tell you guys to get off deck xD

so are we allowed to have troops entering the aircraft carrier through the aircraft elevators on the side of the ship (thereby entering the hanger bays) or do we have to have our troops being inside when the zombies are released.

Have them inside, on either left or right sector. Or being mauled in the mid sector.

You're going to maul your own characters at the start of the RP?

Also URA: That's basically my XM8 variant, except it has pieces of the Malaysian Xm8 and it fits PMAGs, while also having a hybrid Masada/G-36 charging handle. Except yours is just an ACR version of iet.

Only a few of them (Like I said no one really likes to get their men killed, but IRL the seal team doesn't always make it out of the mission alive) and I'll use it to cut down the work on my part and crank up the badassery on my survivors part 8) .

Team starts at ten, ends with roughly half dead (Everyone gets a medal  )
