You know how we could limit the amount of people sent to Atlas as in in squads. So we go back down to the eight limit. You could change the app where people have to write short bio's of their people. I mean of course excluding the people already who were accepted. Like detailed bio's. I mean honestly I could see myself writing eight bio's, but not 12 or 20. Don't know Emm what do you think?

I disagree with this 'cause you should be able to explain your casts' past in an IC post.

AGDF: the Arkanan Ground Defense Force (army)
ANDF: the Arkanan Naval Defense Force (navy)
AADF: the Arkanan Air Defense Force (air force)
ANDC: Arkanan National Defense Command (similar to NORAD)
ASFC: Arkanan Special Forces Command (similar to SOCOM)
CSA: Central Security Agency (FBI/CIA/NSA rolled into one)

Because people seem to be putting stuff up like this.

The bio means explaining their past Vancon. I mean honestly definition of biography is an account of someone's past written by someone else.
The past is your soldier and your writing their biographies.

I think it's better if you tell that kind of thing in the IC. Otherwise, it feels a bit too info-dumpy. But hey, that's just me.

Me, I'm against Exantos's idea, but more in principle than anything else. I just never like rules that are made for an issue without addressing the issue directly. In this instance, the issue is to many squad members, so I'd be fine with a rule that limits the number of squad members explicitly, but I'm opposed in principle to a rule that just makes it more difficult to add squad members.

That said, another issue with too many squad members is that one can't think up enough personality to make them all interesting, so some sort of rule addressing that would be good too, ex: "Each character must have a distinct personality."

Cong has a point, even at five, I thought my Sentinels had poor personality quality. And, depending on how creative a writer you are, in an RP doing something like 10 members would be hard.

NOTE: Tom Clancy did it with a Ghost Recon team, but he had something like 3 books and 3 games covering the same squad of 8-10 Ghosts, which doesn't equal an RP. Just wanted to add a perspective there.

Okay, I just killed off the last character I felt okay doing. I wonder who should die next, if any...

Jolly: The grizzled, veteran captain of the 3rd Squad, the original Remnant ATLAS team.
Koopa: Jolly's best friend and XO of the Remnant ATLAS contingent.
Ninja: Recon specialist of 3rd Squad, the quiet brooding smart-ass.
Tarzan: The loud heavy weapons specialist who's a perfect foil to Ninja.
Pollock: The female rookie leader of 4th Squad who's never seen the gore of combat, especially with zombies.
Oreo: The medic of 4th Squad, an as-of-yet quiet squad member.
O'Malley: 4th Squad's operator, who's job is behind a desk, not the frontline.

Honestly, I kinda wanna see Oreo go down, since he's a bit of a throwaway, too. Or maybe one of the squad leaders...

Dunno, opinions? I like feedback.

Maybe Koopa and then what you could do is Jolly goes off to find him because Koopa sort of disappears so Jolly doesn't think he's dead. then you could throw all the command on Pollock and her first choice is whether or not to kill Oreo because he was infected. I'll see if I can get my squad to you to help you fight back the zombies. Also later you should reintroduce Jolly, but he's scarred by the things he had to do to survive by himself.

I had thought of that, but I was honestly going to do it the other way around, with Jolly dying and Koopa having to take command of his friend's team.

Setting: Modern Day Iraq
The locals are once again woken by the sound of gunshots, it is the 3rd firefight of the week, caused by the foriegn forces combing the land for terrorist activity. In an abandoned hotel on the edge of town, a squad of Optimum recruits, led by an experienced officer, silently move through the charred remains of the building. The building had been firebombed the year before, after it was discovered to be a weapons cache for an extremist group. Now the Optimum recruits are back to search the building for prisoners.
Pvt. John Doorway peeks his head around the corner, looking for threats. He sees nothing and signals to his squad members that it is all clear. As soon as he starts advancing, a gunshot interrupts the eerie quiet and a bullet skims his trusty Mich helmet. Instantly he takes cover behind a fallen slot machine and freezes. Sweating, he peeks around the corner of the machine and sees a hostile trying to hide behind an open door hanging in its hinges. He fires a couple of rounds into the door, and makes sure the hostile is properly eliminated. He then advances, taking more care this time, and observes the carnage. The enemy, an extremist fighter, is laying on the floor with a gut and upper abdomanal wound. Still alive, his breathing is raspy and wet. Pvt. Doorway ends the mans suffering with a clean headshot. He then ungracefully slips on the growing pool of dark blood and brain matter. He rounds the corner of the hall and sees a closed door with a light shining through the crack. One of his comrades takes the lead and poses, ready and aiming at the door. Doorway then sneaks over, checks the door for explosives, and opens it. After a few shots from the the soldier facing the door, all is silent. They move in and release the prisoners, a group of BeowulfWillKillian journalists. They escort the journalists to an armored transport vehicle 1 km away and drive off just as dawn breaks.
Little do they know, but on top of an apartment building across town, an extremist spy takes notes on the movements of the unit and the direction they are heading...

Biography of Warfighter: The Pottili were a group who originally united Pittastria against five other forces, (see in my fact books). The bloody war was won because of the Potilli's superior stealth and the PHASR rifle, which blinded enemies temporarily. The Pottili are extremely efficient and executed a terrorist leader a neighboring country had been harboring in just six months.

She was a gift-character from an RP well done. The downside, this aspect about her is a bit of a secret because they made a ton of ethics-violations.

I did mention she's rather good at dealing with multiple opponents, right?

I thought she was your squad medic...

No, she kinda developed an unhealthy relationship with the medic that rescued her.

Plus, since she's pretty much banned from plugging back into GINX, she needed a new hobby.

I'll have to double-check her hair-color, but I remember it's kinda ridiculous with dichromatic eyes.

Well, the ship is in Pacifist mode. The SAM Batteries are still online, but the AI we're talking about is pretty much a sentient one with a conscious. Don't ask about the consciousness part... but she has a few XXXXXX terrabytes worth of data and personality control within multiple quartz-crystal enhanced core systems. It'd be a challenge, even for Kayora I'd suspect. She's one of three major A.I. which runs the Coalition. The other one is a defense based one, the last one is... well a control based one. (for revenge)

EDIT: And because SRPA helicopters are Coalition (technically) the ship's AI wouldn't allow them to be fired upon. Thus why they're sending in the cavalry.

Yeah, I'm starting to see how dealing with a vastly superior pacifist would be difficult.

However, I know a little trick Sunny don't.

I've set a precedent of using non-critical systems like the PA-system, navigation, damage-control, and adjusting maintenance logs and lock-out-tag-out.
