Nemo Association wrote:Kim sits next to Aleksei, seeing him prepare his rifle she know things can turn to chaos. So, Kim open the outer pocket of her heavy suitcase luggage and pull out a small plastic box. She then place the box on her lab and open it. Inside are all the parts of a K5 pistol and a fully loaded magazine. Kim quickly assemble her pistol, load the mag and put the now empty box back inside the outer pocket of the suite case and retrieve a stack of 4 pistol magazines, all taped up in 2 stacks and a travel waist pocket like strap. Kim strap in the travel waist pocket and put all 4 magazines into the pocket after un-taped them. Each mag is loaded with 12 bullets.

"That's a good-looking pistol right there," remarks Aleksei. "Simple, not too fancy. Will definitely get the job done in a CQB."

Ladislav didn't feel comfortable enough to chat, in moving vehicle, at unknown terrain, but they will fight side by side soon, so better to know fast on who they can count on more or less.
He hoped for 'more' than 'less', of course.
Well, if they insisted for informal war-talk already...

"Berger, Ladislav. Captain. You can call me Slavik." pointing to other members of his team, first on brownhaired lady with freckles and scar. And rather stern expression. "This is Radmila, best sniper what I've ever seen, she can shot bug's balls from three miles.", then he points to a little short soldier with flegmatic look "Our demolition expert, Marek. And last member of team..." "Sara, diversion. Nice to meet you all." she finished herself, with small hint of sarcasm, and she started to check breech of her gun.
"Those who reached my boundary, their seed is not; their hearts and their souls are finished forever and ever. As for those who had assembled before them on the sea, the full flame was their front before the harbour mouths, and a wall of metal upon the shore surrounded them. They were dragged, overturned, and laid low upon the beach; slain and made heaps from stern to bow of their galleys, while all their things were cast upon the water." - Ramesses III., Battle of the Delta

Aleksei nodded in greeting.
"Well, isn't too much to say about me. I've been told I can handle crisis situations decently well. Served in the Chervyshkan 9th Infantry for a while... I currently work as a CFDA Operative, and spent several years as a PMC doing VIP Protection as well as Maritime and Convoy security. Not as fun as the infantry, though." He sighed with nostalgia. "Not as fun..."

He nodded in agreement, and noticed as the Truck lurched forward a bit.
"Man," he said in an annoyed manner. "What's taking so-"
He was interrupted by the sound of Chervyshkan Artillery firing towards the YPLA positions in the South. "Ah, that's right. No 'to-or-fro's' during the artillery barrages. We might get hit by a little return present from the Libbies. Don't worry, though, we're as safe as can be here."

"We can look around a little, if you don't mind. Just to be sure." said Ladislav, nodding first to Sara, and then to rest of the team.
He was damn sure, that he rather will be outside now, where is plenty places to duck. In all cases, it's always safer on field, than inside standing unarmored truck.

"Trust me, we're fine. All that barrage is, is a daily dose of pain we like to dish out to the Libbies just to remind them that we're still here." Aleksei paused to check his watch. "Keeps them from getting too close to Camp Lightning."

"Why it's called 'Lightning' anyway?" asked Sara just so "Is it some interesting local legend, or army engineers couldn't named it after their girlfriends?" she almost purred now.

Ladislav was super-close to facepalm. So much for profesionality. Oh damn it. She was like his own sister. Also pain in the ass.

That got a good laugh out of Aleksei.
"Unfortunately, our Engineer Corps aren't that clever," he remarked. "It's called Lightning because of the god-awful thunderstorm that raged on during the day it had to be hastily set up back in '06 when the YPLA became active. Now, we jokingly call it the 'Temple of the Lightning God' because the storm finally ceased once the camp's basic structure was built. Camp Lightning."

"Right on," responded Aleksei, laughing. He felt the truck lurch forward as the Barrage began to die away. "We'll be out of here, shortly," he said once again, checking his watch.

Jonah looked around to Aleksei and Ladislav and thinks: "I must see these men and learn how their countries train their men so we can learn of their techniques and improve them upon our own." Jonah reached down to his duffel bag and felt around until he could feel his HK 416.

He took it out and making sure it was loaded put it onto safety and said, "So the mission briefing was pretty sparse. Anyone want to explain what we're doing here exactly?"

After the question was posed he put his rifle next to his bench in the car/truck and took out his pistol making sure his silencer was attached and that it was loaded. After that and the answer to his question. He took out his hat and settle it on his head slightly forward so it was over his eyes(think Indiana Jonesish) and reclined back waiting for the ride to end.

Meanwhile, Czechians checked all their weapons. All of them were from their homeland, but adapted to standard Chervyshkan ammunition calibres. They brought own equipment from two main reasons: better to fight with long time known weapons, and in case of operations failure, these weapons were common on both legal and black arms market, so it won't compromise PRSC government.

Excluding Ladislav's, Sara's and Marek's previously presented standard SC921 rifles with shortened barrels, all of them had SC84 pistols
Image

Only Radmila had SC888 sniper rifle
Image
and SOJKA submachine gun for close defense

.
Silencers, laser sights are attachable to all their weapons, also grenade launchers in case of SC921.

But as a scouts, they usually preferred to fight so much lightly armed, as is possible. Find targets, observe targets, neutralize targets silently, prepare traps, bomb target from safety but of course avoid direct attack.

A Chervyshkan soldier approached the back of the vehicle that sounded remotely similar to English, but was too drowned in accent and pronunciation along with non-English words to understand. He pointed in several directions speaking, and then saluted and left once Aleksei said some words back to him. "Convoy's pulling out now. The Barrage is over."

"Exactly," he said. "Once you've been here as long as I have, you start to not hear it anymore. Just becomes part of the ambiance."
Eventually, the truck was able to get past the gate and began its slow drive as the tail vehicle in a supply convoy heading to Lightning. The Yvek countryside was beautiful. Lush green fields and rolling hills covered in forests could be seen for miles. The only blemishes to the artist-worthy land were the scattered craters from assorted Artillery and Airborne explosives as well as several wrecked MAAV-4's (recycled Chervyshkan gear built in 1976 now used as the main APC of the Yvek Nationals ) which dotted a field every now and then. "Those old MAAV's," began Aleksei, "Those old things wouldn't go down without a fight, that's why most of them were pierced with two or more holes from an RPG or another Anti-Tank weapon." The weather dropped a few more degrees, causing Aleksei to zip up his combat jacket fully. He stared out of the back of the truck watching the occasional Chervyshkan LPC-2 travelling in the other direction, usually with its gunner staring at the hills for sudden movement. "Almost makes you forget that it's a warzone."

"We are more happier to free run in terrain like wild rabbits. Sitting, waiting or whatever, that's not for recony people." explained Sara playfully. Again.
"Seriously, be in truck, camp or trenches? Nah. Rather lurking in bush thousand times."
Ladislav turned his head on her, and said with smile.
"Enough jokes, corporal. Or I can tell our foreign friends how you dissapeared, when..."
"Noted, captain."
He turned to native officer.
"How more far is it? I think this journey is longer than should be. Even with that barrage."

We gave a lot of them to Yvek. Happened three weeks ago. They were dead before they realized it. IED. Ripped through the belly of the tank and its crew. We almost had to pour them out of there...."
