so nations who...claim to have bases on other planets unfortunately cannot exist in the same plain of existence as the VA Space Program. Sorry to disappoint.

It depends on how you look at it and what planet, as Lunar or Martian bases are well within current technologies, for example the US abandoned its Lunar program but if it and the USSR had continued, Lunar bases would be a very real thing, that is why Lunar and Martian bases are part of our Space Program, because the technology is modern and could have potentially existed since the mid 1980s

A fully working base on the moon? I don't mean some crappy pod, I mean a fully-fledged, comfortable, functional base of operations. This is what the VA should be working to make a reality.

That doesn't mean we can't exist in more than one plain. I think Belkan has some kind of a galactic fleet or something. However, as most NSers are MT, so is the Space Program, and the alliance must therefore cater mainly to MT. The VA exists in FT as well though, so I wouldn't sweat it if I were you.

Seems fun guys, a good RP with some veteran nations and what not. I could also use a little support but hey I always wanted to try being a blackened radioactive pit!

New Olwe's pretty far from FT (in fact, the opposite end of the non-MT spectrum in most areas). My problem with MT is that it doesn't permit the use of magic, which is the basis for most of New Olwe's tactics and technology.

I was just reading this thread! I guess the crucial point is: why is it that the VA should protect Sharfghotten?

That is actually very true, but in just about in any government form, it comes to the people with the money taking control and the people on the bottom suffering.
