Me and Nu Sparta are in a kind of limbo and I meant to actually bring that up. Our people are supposed to rescue the downed Alderannian pilot in Goran, but chronologically, things were a little off as we were in motion and ink signed before he was even shot down. Now, he's only been on the ground for a few hours and not even made contact with anyone yet. He needs to run into either the CFO, or civilians (both Cyldavia) or possibly get snapped up by Raltirian Denethrien troops. Or he's home free and hides in a cave or tree until we get him. No problem, whatever works.

Here I come to save the day!
Nation Information
I hail from the great continent of Aels, known to much of the world as Atlantis.

Began RPing on Facebook Nations forums in September of 2008, joined with the Aels group (for nations without real world locations) in the next few months as one of the first three members, and have been playing loyally ever since. Since Facebook Nations is in deep decline and is very nearly dead, we make our home here.

I get anxious. I thought you only meant one day. I have never actually finished an RP, because they always succumb to inactivity.

No problem. I've broken the 3-days rule myself too. Hadn't expected to run outta time- only now do I realize why people drop out so quickly. I've never finished one either :(

Besides, after this tough week I'll be on vacation for a week. Should I simply pause the RP for that period, and is that alright? I'm afraid that I won't be able to post while on vacation, and I'm not very sure how this should play out (I mean the time).

Everyone take a deep breath, it will be ok. I promise. I can speak for myself, and I think for Nu Sparta and RD - we're veteran players and we've been through this. When we make a commitment, we stick with it. That is the most important thing to remember and you will understand why most RPs fail, is impatience, commitment and everyone being on the same page or having the same investment in it. If we're all in it for the long haul, then we're good. If not, we figure it out and work on writing players out in a logical manner and smooth exit that won't collapse the RP.

RPs run hot and cold, they just do, that's the flow. After the honeymoon's over, things go into lulls, they slow down, people have to tend to RL. Or, OOC issues and conflicts with conduct crop up. We have lucked out so far that no one is really upset here with anything that anybody else has done. No godmodding or unrealistic play charges flying. That is really, very good. Points for us. Yay!

As long as we're all on the same page here and we promise to keep it going, we can move this along, even with some pauses along the way. Sometimes RL comes up and it may take a player even weeks to post. A friendly reminder every once in a while is ok. Be patient. The good RPs are worth it. In the meantime, do some other quick one-off RPs, or some GE&T or check out the NS Sports, or General, play some Xbox or, whatever. Personally, I usually work on developing more of my factbook or canon, it really helps with RP foundation. Get involved in your region, too.
Again, I know at least for myself, Nu Sparta, and Raltirian Denethier, that we've all been in some long running RPs and if you wait for it, some pretty good story and characters can come through. I have been part of a couple RPs that are still going on II here two RL years and running and they could literally be a well selling book. (With a bit of editing)

What we need to do is coordinate on here, while we wait for all to get their plot moving posts up. Who is doing what? What are the motives? Are we all moving logically towards a big show down where we will all be involved in the same big action? Trust me, when we work towards that, it will be huge and awesome.

Total non-sequitir:
Here are some cool places to spark some imagination. Cyldavia, we're pulling for you in these exams. Go enjoy your vacation and we'll be here when you get back. Anybody who can post in the meantime, let's try to do that.
Now, let's have some fun out there! Go get 'em! Go team!

Vielen Dank! Its great to hear all this from a veteran, and I'm sure we'll get far with it. For me, things have just started to get serious- which is why I didn't properly understand why people dropped out so quickly (now I do...). I've learned to be a bit more flexible- the "3-4 day" rule really doesn't fit well. Again, thanks for the support ^^

I just wrote 4 paragraphs to respond and thought better of it. I only know you from here and I've been heavily involved with II since joining. No offense. Post counts and year joined mean jack all to me and most others.
RL years on NS =/= Veteran RPer, so I do not assume anything.

I say this cautiously, as it can easily do more harm than good, but I've been roleplaying Denethier since 2008.

Now, I'll say no more because I'm not trying for a pissing contest. Neu is right, it is more to time spent RPing than time registered on the site.

EDIT: Also, apologies for failing to meet yesterday's commitment. I've a post just about finished that will definitely be posted tonight.

Changing topic, where are the Strike Team fighters located? I'm assuming that they're inside the mill building itself. Is that correct?

AAAACHTUNG! ATTEN-SHUN PUH-LEASE!

Well, not that important, just a little notice. Okay, so I'll be leaving early tomorrow for my vacation, and will be returning in a week. I won't be posting until then.

Serder and San Mazer, while you're free to decide the fate of the numerous fighters and base guards, please do leave the fate of the Strike Team members to me.
Please post in the mean time. Meanwhile, has anyone seen Alderann around? I've sent him a TG to remind him, but he's not responded yet. After all, he's the one who called the USG into action :\

All the best!

We can be creative.

And I apologize for my absence. Here I go again. Get ready for heavy firepower on Goran!

EDIT: Also, this is a question which is important, but not 100% vital, for whenever Cyldavia might pop back: About how large is Goran? I imagine it being no larger in any one dimension than the length of Rhode Island north-south. In fact, the size I had more imagined was really more like a little over half the north-south length of Rhode Island, so about 44km or so, and I imagine Goran as being a sort of egg-shaped island, oriented north-south. So, in my mind, it is somewhere like an egg-shaped island about 30x45km. Rhode Island, by comparison, is somewhere in the vicinity of 35km across at the latitude of Providence (it widens to about 55km at the lower end) by about 70-75km north-south.

This size is pertinent in considering how I need to maneuver my artillery units to continue supporting the advance of my troops, since they might have the range to cover literally the whole island if Goran is very small, but if it is larger, like Rhode Island's actual size, say, I would need to keep track of the artillery.

As well, the size of the island helps give an idea of how many cities of a certain size are present.

That's alright. I plan on posting once the rest of the teams do their thing, though I may need to wait until Cyldavia is back so we can get a good fight going between my guys and his Strike Team.
