First Half Annual International War Games! (closed)

[Vorstus]

Today preparations for the First Half Annual International War Games has begun. The Games will take place on Baku, a planet inhabited by neither the CAP nor the CCP. This planet has a year round summer, constant ocean breezes, along with several lush forest. In both Vorstus and Karaq news coverage for the games is great, almost every news and sport channel films the events live. Both nations Militaries have been chartered to Baku where the Games will begin at six O'clock. The winning nation of the Games shall take home several thousand pounds of precious metals, and a golden statue of a man with a spear, in stance as if he is preparing to throw it. The events for the Games will be divided like so:

Day One: Ground Forces Event
Day Two: Naval Event
Day Three: Aerial Event
Day Four: Interstellar Event

The Interstellar fleets arrives above Baku and begins to drop troops on the planet. The Troops on the planet create a small camp and artillery is set up on each side of what appears to be the ruins of a city. Each side has a total of 20,000 Soldiers and 50 Extra Tanks.

The Allied Forces dig fortified trenches all around their occupied sector. Tanks fall back into the forest near the outskirts of the ruins. In the trenches tripods mount machine guns. All forces are prepared to attack.

The order's are given, and the Artillery proceeds to bombard the city and anything past the city hoping to hit opposing soldiers.

Only few soldiers are killed, but many injured. Alliance Military Commander James Nightingale, operating out of his dirty bunker, gives the order for the tanks to advance to the opposing side of the city. 40 of the tanks are Bradshall Class Single Cannon Artilitant Tanks while 10 of the tanks are Harvest Class Heavy Armored Artilitant Tanks. Soldiers prepare to advance after the tanks.

5,000 Soldiers, under escort by 10 Scorpion Class Tanks enter the city, taking up defensive positions inside the building. The Artillery, then continue to fire on the enemy opposition that is entering the city. After about 10 Artillery Shells, the bombardment stops. The 5,000 Soldiers, no where in the open, neither the tanks.

20 Scorpion Tanks, then divide themselves equally and enter the city slowly, with another 5,000 Troops following behind. The Soldiers and Tanks begin to fire on any enemy Armor and Soldiers in sight. The Tanks and Soldiers inside the building also lay down multiple surprise attacks on the opposition, destroying 6 tanks. The Soldiers begin to fire on the enemy ground support, releasing a rain of bullets from from the buildings.

5 of the 10 Harvest Class Heavy Armored Artilitant Tanks fire both of their cannons and level two old stone towers that fall all over in massive piles of rubble. The rubble crushes Karaqi troops and demobilizes several tanks. The soldiers continue fire on the advancing Karaqi troops.

[Karaq]

Massive firefights begin to break out across the city. The sound of tank shells and bullets echo throughout the city. Several troops with RPG's and Stinger Missiles fire upon the Harvest Class Tanks, and later, Scorpion Tanks begin to do the same. 5 more tanks are then ordered into this city, only not Scorpion Class but Wraith Class. Each armed with a large plasma cannon and plasma turret.

The Harvest Class Tanks revert fire to the Wraith Tanks and demobilize two of them. Troops advance and gain control of several key buildings. The troops also throw anti-artilitant grenades under the the Scorpion Tanks stopping most of them in their tracks. 20 Bradshall Class Single Cannon Artilitant Tanks roll out of the forest and begin an artillery barrage on their foes.

The Wraith tanks begin to bombard the opposing tanks with Plasma disintegrating the armor. Artillery then focus their bombardment on the building, knowing that Karaqi Soldiers are no longer in them. Several building fall and collapse and multiple fall on Vorstinian Armor and soldiers. Scorpion Tanks, continue to roll over the ruble and fire on the opposing forces as well as the Wraith Tanks. Karaqi Soldiers, numbering in 8,000, being to breach through buildings, checking them in case of any surprises waiting. The rest of the 12,000 Soldiers, waiting to be deployed, await their orders at base, and listening to the firefights and gunfire via radio.

Several Soldiers retreat to the trenches for medical reasons while a new batch of 3,000 march into the city and again dig fortified trenches where machine guns on tripods open fire on the Karaqi Troops, mowing down several brave men. The Bradshall Class Tanks that remain finish off the original Wraith Tanks and then open cannon fire onto any blotches of opposing troops they observe. Later the new troops advance on the remaining Karaqi injured and take several prisoners.

Suddenly, several Scorpion tanks, roll out of building behind the Bradshall tanks and begin to fire on them from behind, destroying them. The machine guns on the tanks, mowing down any opposing Vorstinian soldiers. A platoon of soldiers, escorted by a few Jeeps, carry their wounded unto the Med-Jeeps and the Jeeps drive away back to the Karaqi base. The Platoon backed by the surviving original troops begin to set up a defensive perimeter in the city, including sandbag barricades, entrenchments, and in the buildings.

The trenches prepare to launch yet another wave of this time 8,000, this time armed with bayonets attached to their assault rifles. The remaining tanks retreat to the first trench for repairs.

[Karaq]

10 more Scorpion Tanks are deployed to the battlefield, only not to the city but into the forest, escorted by 3,000 Troops. They plant trip bombs dug into the ground and hidden by leaves and dirt. The Group of Tanks and Soldiers then continue into the forest.

In the city, the fortified entrenchment of tanks, and soldiers set up 50 Cal MG's, RPG's, Stinger Missiles, and Grenade Launchers and prop them on the barricades and inside the building, waiting for enemy opposition to show themselves. Artillery bombard the Vorstinian side of the city, hoping to hit them and drive them into the city. Most of the shells hit skyscrapers and only some hit the other side of the city. Supplies are then transported from the base, this includes ammunition, food, and weapons. The supply trucks drop off the supplies, then hurry back to base, fearing that they may be destroyed by enemy fire.

In the forest, Sniper's in Ghillie suits set themselves up in the tree's and on the ground, a few tanks are also hidden by forest plants and such, while most of the forest battalion enters the city to reinforce the city group.

Soldiers of the First Trench, by order of James Nightingale, throw a volley of stones onto the buried bombs. One of the Bombs goes off igniting the others. The Karaqi Troops think it is the tanks and open fire, hitting nothing. The explosion however kills 10 Allied Army troops. The First trench then releases a few of the repaired Bradshall Tanks, which bombard Karaqi occupied buildings, and any visible targets.

Soldiers inside the building are safe enough as they are not on the top floors, however there are snipers up there and some either fell off the building or were hit by the Bradshall tank shells. The Karaqi Forces behind the armored barricades and entrenchments await for the tanks to get closer so they can fire on them RPG's and Stinger Missiles.

A Sniper Recon team, equipped with Ghillie suits, silenced tactical sniper rifles, silenced 44 Mil. Pistols, and each with their personal radio move into the forest, using the forest to blend in as cover, as they loop around to the Vorstinian side of the city. They fire off a few Sniper rounds, dropping at least 3 Vorstinian soldiers, the rest of the soldiers drop to the ground for cover. The Recon Team, then begins to fall back to provide sniper cover for the city group.

Soon, the sun sets and the city goes dark, the only light coming from the main bases and the Karaqi Entrenchment in the city.

The Soldiers await for any opposition to get close, they fire flares into the air to provide more light. Their MG loaded, their Grenade Launchers on standby, and the tanks waiting to blast any tank to hell itself. The Baku moon, which doesn't provide much light, slowly rises up. The Karaqi Force awaits for any Vorstinian Tank or Soldier to come in sight.

The Tanks approach the Karaqi stronghold only to be meet with heavy fire. They begin suppression fire and eventually they win out but have heavy losses and must retreat to the Forward Command or Trench One. When they arrive at forward command Mr. Nightingale observes several snipers in the trees with his infrared binoculars issued to him by the military. He orders that heavy fire by placed on the men, and they die quick deaths. The Allied Soldiers in trench one march to two where they begin to fire the tripod guns at any targets they can kill on the Karaqi side.

A temporary cease fire is called by both sides. This is how the numbers stand:

On the Vorstinian Side remain 34 Tanks 5 of which being Harvest Class, the rest being Bradshall Class.12,299 Allied Army Ground Troopers remain alive.

On the Karaqi Side remain 36 Tanks an unknown amount of individual Classes. 11,626 Karaqi Army Troops remain alive.

Citizens of the Alliance pray for the souls of the lost.

Supplies begin to replenish and wounded are carried back to base, while those who are fixed up and in condition to fight return to the barricades. A few of the tanks who survived the charge are then called back for repairs while those who were held back at base are deployed to the front as well 3,000 Troops to reinforce the 6,000 already at the front.

-Cease Fire Suspended-

Artillery, again, begins to bombard the other side of the city. MG's are locked and loaded at the barricade, awaiting for another Vorstinian push. An Engineer Squad is sent out, and they set out into the city, placing trip wires that are rigged to grenades that are on the sides of the roads and in the middle of the roads. These trip wires are set a safe distance away from the barricades.

The Bradshall Tank Crews laugh as they roll up seeing the traps still being installed. Instead of they fall south to the forest where they then go east, then north. They finally reach a safe hill just above the Karaqi encampment. They then unload their usual shells from the cannons, and then put newer experimental ones, donated by the Eastern Arobithian Isles in. When they hit the Karaqi Camp, they do nothing. The Karaqis laugh and begin to fire on the retreating Tank Squad. But in a few minutes time the shells that landed in the Karaqi camp begin to crack...
They let free a yellow gas that burns soldiers eyes and skin, later chokeing several of the Karaqis to death: it was a biological shell.

Knowing of the Allied Biological Power, they prepared Gas Masks and Anti-Biological Suits. Although few were lost in the biological explosion, most were saved. On the front, the Soldier's get radioed in on the information. Mobile Artillery, begins to move around the city, having a great field of view over the city and the Vorstinian camp. Artillery at the camp, begins to fire upon the Vorstinian side of the city and the soldiers on the front push forward a bit more. Each soldier, pulling a gas mask out of their packs and putting them on. The Karaqi Military also prepared biological weapons.

In the forest, as the Vorstinian Tanks retreat, they roll over some land mines that hadn't detonated from earlier, but now have. A few of the tanks are destroyed, and the remaining floor it back to their base.

The Mobile Artillery, arches it's cannon, and a soldier, loads in what is not a regular shell but a clear shell that is filled with a sort of brown liquid. The soldier immediately takes cover, and the cannon fires at the Vorstinian camp. A silence takes over before the shell hits, and then, the shell hits. The entire camp goes into flames, it was a shell that was carrying napalm, that will burn everything it comes into contact with. Vorstinian Soldiers are running out of camp on fire. Screams, gunfire, and orders are being heard as the flames begin to consume the camp.

Luckily, the Karaqi's only hit the Forward Command where only guards and a Commander were stationed, as a few hours ago most of the forces were moved to the front in Trench Two. Since Commander James was in a bunker in the Trench his life was spared, but his guards, were incinerated. From the Second Trench, pour 2,000 Allied troops that like the tanks reroute through the forest, then to the hill. They charge down the hill and gouge Karaqi Soldiers in the back. With the Butts of their rifles they smash comm systems and kill radio operators. Radio waves go quiet. The soldiers retreat back to the hill, but lose 310 troops in retreat. They fire on the panicking Karaqis once they have the high ground, picking off almost 540. The rest of the Soldiers make it back to the new Forward Command or Second Trench.

Meanwhile, in Forward Command:
"Come on lads! We can move faster than this! Dig this trench DEEPER!" says a very ashy, ill, and broken Commander James Nightingale, as the trench becomes more well dug in, and more tunnels are installed.

At the Same Time at the Trench Tank Storehouse:
12 Bradshall Tanks roll into place to defend the Trench, and previous to this fire on all seen Karaqi targets seen preparing to fire. A spray of bullets sets off a known traps.

Using Guerrilla style fighting, Karaqi Soldiers who were already in the forest, hiding in the tree's begin to mow down in coming retreating Vorstinian forces. Using the trees as cover and then finally, taking the last survivor prisoner then heading back to base.

Engineers, attempt to repair the radio's and are successful with a few. The remaining soldiers, which is about 9,000 left, as well 20 tanks, those wounded and damaged are sent back to base for recovering and repairs. All soldiers on the front line, are then ordered to fall back to base, including the tanks. The Mobile Artillery, puts in another napalm shell, and this time it has a wider range. It aims it at the city, and fires the cannon. Instead of it releasing on impact, the napalm shell detonated mid air above the city and begins to fall onto the city and onto the Vorstinian Forward Operating Base.

Patrols, and camera's are then set up around the base and in the forest in case of any surprise attacks. The Karaqi Forces, then cheer, watching the city burn and possibly burning the remaining Vorstinians. As the napalm consumes the city, Artillery begins to fire at the city, shelling it completely, making sure that overkill make subdue them into surrendering.
