The Matriarchy will provide the station an improved Internal transit system and a set of four Artificial Gravity generators if GESO approves of how it should be implemented along with installation methods

Whilst the Station has already been completed, the Bentusi see no reason why an internal transit system could not still be installed at these early stages - although certainly the cost may be greater than it originally would have. However, whilst the Matriarchy is free to install artificial gravity generators in their own section, our records indicate that the Consolidate Nations have already installed their own device as the primary gravity generator for the station.

We welcome the Monarchy's assistance regarding the AGG systems, as a backup would come in handy should something unfortunate happen, also it would help take the load off our systems, which have only recently been created and upgraded with only a small drydock shipyard to work on for the test, not something to the scale of the station.

The Batheran Republics would like to abstain from the Crucible vote, as it currently maintains no interest in the area.

The Commonwealth of Bentus would like to bring the conflict on Yalshia V to the attention of the Security Council. The actions of the Calivanthian government cannot be allowed to stand in a civilised and just society, and we strongly feel that GESO has the responsibility to take a firm stand on the issue. The past enslavement of the local population at the hands of the Calivanthian regime goes against everything which this alliance of nations stands for; however, it is the heinous attempts of the Calivanthians to once again conquer and enslave the native population, even after having recognised their independence, which forces our hand.

A number of GESO members are already directly involved in this conflict, with some openly supporting the Soviet Ponies of Yalshia V against their oppressors and others supplying essential humanitarian aid to the suffering citizens on the planet.

In order to address this rapidly escalating conflict, the Commonwealth of Bentus would like to hereby propose the following resolution to the floor,

The Galactic Economic and Security Organization,

Noting its responsibility to ensuring galactic peace and security,
Recognising the sudden and unacceptable escalation of hostilities between the Soviet Ponies of Yalshia V and Calivanthia,
Reminding members of their stated opposition to the enslavement of sentient beings as stated in the GESO charter,
Abhorred by the needless death that is now occurring on the planet,

1. Condemns the Calivanthian state for its unjustifiable atrocities against the peoples of Yalshia V;

2. Declares that an act tantamount to genocide is occurring on Yalshia V;

3. Strongly cautions against the continued use of highly destructive and advanced weaponry within the theatre,

a. Such weapons can be seen to include, but are not limited to, NOVA weapons and indiscriminate orbital bombardment;

4. Authorises member states’ active and direct involvement in the conflict with the intent of supporting and upholding the basic rights and liberties of the people of Yalshia V,

a. But must stop short of declaring GESO an active combatant in the conflict, as it does not constitute an attack on the alliance itself;

5. Insists that all parties to show restraint in the continued military engagements occurring on the world, and to adopt any and all diplomatic resolutions to the conflict;

6. Urges NGOs and non-involved governments to co-ordinate aid and relief for the besieged people of Yalshia V and the innocents who are enduring unnecessary suffering as a result of this conflict;

Henceforth, CONDEMNS the actions of Calivanthia and DECLARES it’s recognition of the Soviet Ponies of Yalshia V as a sovereign state and its right to independence.

The Terran Alliance, will after some consideration and in light of the facts presented vote for this proposal. The civilized galaxy will not, and cannot tolerate acts of barbarity involved with cases of slavery, in furtherance while interface in the internal affairs of any nation and sovereign power should not be undertaken lightly or for little justification or reason, we as civilized members of this galaxy and universe must take in to account that our alliance was founded to maintain the peace. It was founded to safeguard this peace, war should be a last resort and diplomacy always a tool; but sometimes we might have no other choice.

Ladies, gentlemen and AI's, many generations ago the galaxy was ablaze with anti alien hatred pure malice against what these xenophobes called "furries". Based on nothing more than half truths, innuendo and false reasoning. They used these excuses to begin a horrible and abhorrent crusade against these people, this cannot be allowed to happen again; simply taking the life of a sapient being solely on what he or she is, is not and will not be tolerated by the Terran Alliance, nor should it be by her allies. GESO nor the UTA should attempt to police the galaxy but this doesn't mean we shouldn't help keep the peace with in reason.

The cause of this nation is to attain their freedom from a government that has enslaved them, there can be no more or noble cause of an honorable cause and indeed an act of courage; that goes above and beyond the call of duty and ones every desire, than to die for your freedom and for us as allies AS brothers and sisters in arms and in peace to see that cause, and the cause of this nation, and to support our very founding principles to uphold the rights of life.

No Tyrant can hold a population who's desire to be free under their boot of despotism and slavery with force of arms to the threat of violence forever. Many in this galaxy before have learned this, some have not. The Terran Alliance will help in any way it can to teach it to them.

I've been authorized by my government to offer low interest loans to Yalshia V and the Poniest government, grants up to TC$ 250-520 billion , material support, engineers and drones and expertise in the construction of infrastructure; medical facilities, power grids and so forth; and the deployment of our GPF (GESO peace Keeping Force) contingents to assist in post war reconstruction and maintenance the territorial integrity of the new nation. Additionally we will also offer advisers to assist in the establishment of a interim and post war government on Yalshia V as well as administrative affairs until our mission is otherwise or by the request of that government completed.

In response to a recent invitation by the honourable ministers of the Federal Union, the Republican Confederation of the Wanderjarian System wishes to extend a formal request to join the esteemed Galactic Economic and Security Organization (GESO). Our young republic accepts and ratifies all measures within the charter of GESO.



(OOC: Been years since I've RP'd FT, so I apologize for not having a lot prepared. In the past I was also a part of the old Galactic Empire, so I'm still working on my new back story, culture, etc. Please excuse the lack of diplomatic insignia and other pretties for the time being )

Stepping up to the podium was an elderly gentleman from the Confederated Republic of Wanderjar, a new joined member of the GESO organization. Recognizing this, and the consequences of both supporting the use of force which the majority favoured, as well as voting against an organization which had so cordially invited the new nation to join, much weighed on the representative councilman. He was dressed well, in a black suit with white collared shirt and a plain red tie.

He spoke with a subdued drawal common to his world, and unconsciously became self-aware of his no doubt simple appearance. He had no experience in diplomacy, the man had been a farmer his entire life. This appointment to become the representative to GESO was more political favour to a stalwart friend to the new president than anything. He did, however, owe it to his friend to perform his task with verve. And so as he ascended the podium, he cleared his throat and collected his prepared remarks.

'Our new friends,' he began, 'the Confederated Republic must first begin with a firm expression of appreciation for the kindness shown to our new nation. This is an exciting time for the Wanderjar system, reforming after so many centuries of anarchy and for the first time under a democratic system of liberty at that.

'It is for our appreciation of that liberty which we have so hard fought and strived for that we must vote in favour of action. The people of the universe are imbued with natural rights which no tyrant must ever again be allowed to force upon its people. We are of course referring to the former Galactic Empire. It's legacy has left a sore across the universe which will likely never heal, and as a result we shall happily stand with the Federal Union in their efforts against this foe.' With that, he turned and quietly left the podium.

The remarks were short, and to the point, and that was precisely how Mr. Darin Poussin preferred to conduct his affairs.

The Empire had requested he do his best to keep the members of GESO out of this conflict, at any costs, and as he took the stand, he was still formulating the words in his head. Essentially, he was doing what politicians and politicians did best; bull shit and lying. Yaliite boys were dying on the fields of combat, watering the fields of Soviet freedom with their blood and tears; already, fifty had fallen, destroyed by the dark sorcery of the cruel Calivinthians. The last thing that the Yaliites needed was the usual bureaucratic meddling and foolishness that would make their sacrifices in vain.

"We cannot support this proposal, as all it would do is to simply exacerbate the situation. Consider, friends, comrades, and allies. If GESO were to be involved, where does that leave our enlightened and mighty alliance? It puts us with the ranks of the massive super alliances, such as IRON and HERMES that, in their greed and avarice, nearly tore this galaxy apart. We do not need the GESO alliance having such power. GESO should do naught; individual states should simply be freed from the charter's foolish and wasteful stipulations against war, and realize that our nations alone, should define their own senses of morality and justice."

The Batheran representative, Entrani, looked around the room at the other assembled delegates before speaking.

"At first, I was going to whole-heartedly agree that we should help these people, as it is not just my own moral standing, but that of my entire species that we help those in need. However, I believe that my Yaliite counterpart is correct. GESO is for mutual defense, not for the defense of others. I think that it is in our best interest as an alliance to stay out of the conflict. Officially. That doesn't mean we cannot help them in more... subtle ways..."

As the last phrase emanated from his lipless mouth, the Batheran's nostrils flared and his mouth stretched into an even thinner line than usual. This was the equivalent in his kind to a grin or knowing smile.

The representative of the Consortium, Ambassador Rhythor took the podium in a rather somber looking mood, he cleared his throat and leaned towards the microphone.

"Due to a rift between the Consortium and the leadership of the Galactic Economic and Security Organization the Interstellar Consortium of Avlana with a heavy heart officially tenders its resignation from the alliance. I can assure the other members this decision was not reached without much thought and soul searching, however the Consortium is at a crossroads and must regretfully withdraw her support. Effective immediately Consortium naval assets will withdraw from the GRF and Consortium personnel will begin immediate evacuation of the Talos station as well as other GESO facilities they may be present in. However I would like to assure the Bentusi delegation that out commitment to them will remain as strong as ever as we move forth with our current project with them, the Talonians, and the Hibernians. Again The Consortium regrets that it has come to this and feels horribly for what has to happen. We wish GESO and its member states nothing but peace and prosperity as we go our separate ways ."

Rythor stepped back from the podium and bowed deeply to the other representatives before turning and solemnly leaving the stage.

A large powerfully built Garmillan man took the stage, the large numbers of medals on his uniform glinting in the light as they and he moved. The 6' 7" man took the podium "Greetings mighty allies. Whilst forced slavery is an abhorrent thing that must be stamped out the Empire is still combating what was previously thought of as an internal threat, it is not, there is another race behind it that is inviting civil unrest because they are scared and will not see reason. With large sections of the Imperial fleet currently busy and the rest limited to patrol and support roles we can only offer supplies, be they, weapons, food, medicine etc" the man took a moment to gather his thoughts before continuing. "We should be able to send military vessels for peacekeeping duties shortly, whether or not GESO itself decides to intervene. I would also like to say that it is a shame to see the consortium leave GESO, their presence will surely be missed by all".

The Qenoian Representative, possibly the youngest being in the room stood up with cat ears easily peering out of his head and black tail. His size could easily be dwarfed by that of the Garmillan and he started to speak with the help of a translator device attached to his collar. The voice stood in firm contrast of his natural voice which helped him stand out against his elder and physically larger counterparts.

He was appointed to the position by the Matriarch herself on the condition that he'd be a good politician and put the interests of the nation before his own interests. If help were needed he could always ask for help from the other appointed politicians who were then appointed by the people of Qeno just to keep a limited political activism within the country.

"I agree with the Yalite representitive, We have the right to defend our homelands and so do they."

"Then what would you all suggest? This proposal is not forcing all of us in to a war nor should it unless one of our members is attacked. What it is doing is establishing humanitarian support from what we can see to the power involved. Yes we are a mutual defense alliance, but we're also a fair alliance are we not? Do you propose we turn our backs on weaker nations or those who cannot defend themselves? There is a point where a people become free and independent of their mother country and deserve the right to be recognized, but this does not mean we should involve ourselves in active combat.

"I don't expect anyone to understand this, the Terran Alliance was once under the rule and thumb of the galactic empire.. Long past this empire was vast and ruled with and iron fist its member states manipulated and threatened with force. Many of our people died when our last home world was so cruelly destroyed to punish us for our insolence and our desire to be free. There is a point here, we weren't helped by anyone during those days and billions of women and children and men sapient beings just like yourselves were killed , slaughtered for what? The name of empire, the name of putting down a "rebellion". Should we then cast the fate of helpless, and hopeless peoples aside because we may feel insecure that we'd support rebellions at home or intervention by foreign powers on our soil?

So should we in the name of righteous self determination, deny others their right to self determination for their people? What does that say about us, about you about me? We may be an instrument of peace and unity, but we're also an instrument of defense. I cannot disregard the feelings of our involvement or against the proposal at hand, for they are real indeed and they are visible; we should not go down the path of empire but we cannot and should not in my eyes neuter ourselves to help the helpless, and to help those in need. To put it bluntly, the galactic situation has changed since "IRON and HERMES" but no doubt GESO is a power and a power that is quite obvious and no-longer contested in status. What we do with this status is up to everyone here, I have an amendment to this proposal.

That the Bentusi and the Yallies take the head and responsibility for the initial security forces as laid out POST war to head the international effort.

It has already been stated it should be within reasonable bounds to prevent our active participation in this war. Yes I'm not sure how many read the actual proposal but its there, its also stated that this would be a post war effort on the behalf of humanitarian nations the civilized galaxy and us as member states. The Yalliets and Buntsi are already involved, so while the claim that GESO should stay out of this to rouse fear of anti GESO rhetoric and comparison to older alliances; the Yallites themselves are involving themselves in the affairs of a sovereign state while the proposal on the other hand absolves us of all of that business and merely lends a helping hand. Like it or not, GESO members are already impacting the situation and impacting the fate of these people whole sale and what will we do? Ignore the situation because it makes us feel slightly uncomfortable? Or should we take responsibility that two nations who are part of this very council this very alliance are out there, in that system -he points dramatically- impacting the lives of so many people.

Shall we please think again? We have a responsibility to make sure the actions of our members in this situation do not destabilize the entire affair, why? because when the mother tells her child the story of a great war, a great fire that swept through their world at the behest of forces beyond their control and our name. G.E.S.O is mentioned do we want the children of that nation to fear us, to think we're the bringers of death and destruction without rejuvenation? Or do we want them to adore us, this is a choice we must face. People have children out there too, people have families, and like it or not we In my view must rightfully assist in the reconstruction and needless threats of war against a weak, and helpless power that struggled to be free. Through no fault of their own, these ponies did not choose to be slaves shall we condemn them to ten being slaves of another nation or be destroyed simply because of who they are?

No.. The Terran's with or with out council support shall stand by their principles, we will not invoke any right to force others here to help if they wish not to.

I am not afraid of us being labeled like those old alliances, because we know we're not, so then should we let our choices be guided by PURE fear ? The fear of other powers ? We are GESO.. We in this situation have done nothing distasteful but abandon some of our principle responsibilities . I , nor is this proposal again asking us to involve ourselves in a war, it is asking us to help a small nation after its struggle until it gets on its feet. If that is so wrong, then tell me whats to stop you from saying that about our fellow members? Hm? Let me say that we should at least make other considerations if this is too stringent and not simply wave away this issue despite the Yallite opinion there is more to this than the two dimensions brought forth, let us contemplate will we let the galaxy see us as unwilling or timid or even so weak as we would not stand up to defend some poor nation? Am I saying we intervene across the galaxy no, I am saying we remain open to the possibility that some may or may not need our help. I don't nor do my people want to see the endless horrors and the perpetuation of xenocide against powers and planets for no reason other than sadistic pleasure or empire. We don't want to see the condemnation of an entire race to die , because we know its wrong.

We know, it is not right and we know or should know that if we do not take a stand against it than the engines of chaos and destruction will come bare down upon our worlds and the galaxy with our principles in shambles and our security compromised then laugh and thumb their nose at what remains. We cant let ourselves fall in to a well of paranoia, or to sideline our dearest of principles to uphold peace and to perpetuate the existence of sapient life regardless with in degrees of who or what they are. But we cannot involve ourselves in needless war, or use this as a justification or a blunt instrument for an excuse to enthrall us and our people in to needless suffering and destruction. However, we cannot deny we are a player in the galaxy and its politics and we must use this wisely the Yallites have one concern right, the concern that this can be used as a tool to justify the attack, subjugation or destabilization of nations and powers that have done us no harm. And at the same time destroy our principles and again sacrifice our peoples lives for pointless goals.

All I am asking is please let us at least do what is right and after this war ensure the security of this power and the fair treatment of its people and assistance in building itself in to a profitable power. At no point did this proposal ever try to insinuate we would actively involve ourselves in this war it did say post war and after this conflict we would assist and ensure the security of these helpless people, much as you would ask for yourselves.

However the concept of fate takes place millenniums of years prior to today and we, not as GESO but as representatives of individual countries have a responsibility to the people who inhabit our countries to provide them with said liberties. I have a friend who is in the military and has experience in active combat but when I ask him about it he says "War is hell"

The document currently up for vote’s purpose is explicitly to ‘Condemn’ the military action occurring on Yalshia V; to ‘Urge’ all those involve to restrain from continuing military operations and to ‘Strong Caution’ against the use of highly destructive weaponry such as indiscriminate orbital bombardment.” The Bentusi stared into the eyes of each of the other GESO delegations as he made his point.

“Only once in this proposal is military force even looked at in a not-unfavourable light, and that is through its authorisation for GESO members to become involved unilaterally should they independently see fit . With, the full knowledge that the GESO SC and their allies will not persecute them for their actions as long as they fall within justifiable boundaries of war. We understand if this clause is causing some confusion, and are more than willing to have it removed from the draft. However, we strongly feel that it is essential for international organisations – such as GESO – to take a firm diplomatic stance with regards to issues such as this. This is with the hope that such firm words and guiding examples can serve in lieu of military intervention, reducing the catastrophic bloodshed that can result.”

Delegate Entrani leaned back in his and gave a gesture to the Bentusi delegate, his long fingers curling in a loose shape meant to signify indifference.

"So, we're having this discussion because we can't, as an organization, decide whether or not we like this conflict and if we want to slap the warring parties' wrists with a condemnation? I'm sorry, good sir, but would a piece of writing telling them that they're acting unkindly really make them turn the other cheek, lay down their arms, and go to the nearest tavern to share a drink as if they are old broodmates? I may stand against military action in this conflict, but what power does a mere condemnation bring? Do you think the soldiers and commanders laying their lives on the line for their goals are going to give a flying qatchi what a far-off alliance thinks of their actions?

A qatchi is a quadrupedal animal found on the Batheran homeworld of Qatara. It resembles a mix between a lizard and a bird and is about the size of a Terran canine. It is thought of as an edible rodent to most and as a pet to some.

I actually don't really have any planets, aside from mine worlds which are strip mined of their resources (this is also done with other celestial bodies like asteroid fields), and we keep those to relatively unoccupied territories (none inside solar systems with other species inhabiting them).

The Federation of Thelza, a regional power in her own right in the Zacharia Star Cluster, acknowledges the necessity of capable states such as herself to uphold the ideals of freedom and common defense for both those signatory states, as well as non-signatory states that may, at times, find themselves under the assault of despotic regimes. It is therefore in the spirit of Liberty and Justice for all sentient lifeforms, that the Republican Assembly, the highest legislative branch of the Federation of Thelza, voted unanimously on July 22, 2623, in full agreement with all GESO Charter Articles, to become a signatory state of the Galactic Economic Security Organization and fulfill all requirements expected of her as a member state. Signed into law by Republican Assembly Resolution 622#VAC26152, and approved by the Federal Assembly Executive Order ABF#25511A, the Federation of Thelza hereby submits herself as a candidate for membership into the GESO with the knowledge and understanding that the Federation of Thelza will meet all requirements of her, that the Thelzan people in unison with their lawful, democratic government, stand shoulder to shoulder with their brethren of the GESO, and that she will uphold all articles of the GESO.
