Is there anything else I need to change for my app?

"Talkies" either originated in the Dominion or in Fanaglia, but I'm more than willing to concede the first moving pictures to Fanaglia.

Well, Inesea, even if I have my own brand of Warjack, I side more with tanks. Besides I have mountains to climb over to get to the enemy, so walkers become useless.

I created an intro/origin rp, just introducing some characters that will be important later on. I am sorry if you think its diluted its just ive been wanting to write something like that for awhile. Rest assured if I ever reply it will be much more direct!

@Sarmandar: You can begin posting on there and we can set up a mutal protection pact to give us some hope in these uncertain times!

Sorry I haven't been here a while; I've been rather busy with other stuff.Inspired by recent posts I've also had a think about Kapran military technology and what kind of a route it would take. Since the army is adapted to fighting insurgents in the Kapran jungle, the vast majority of military tech is based around reliable, medium-range infantry weapons. Artillery is not often relied upon, unless to defend important positions, and tanks are essentially nonexistant.

A huge bulk of the Kapran army consists of trained Kitai, lightly-armed skirmishers who fight in loose formation and use guerilla tactics. Laminated cloth and paper armor gives the troops a degree of protection against arrows and other projectiles, and even early 19th Century firearms, whilst also ensuring that the Kitai can fight and travel from skirmish to skirmish without getting tired. Although traditionally armed with swords and crossbows, the development of new weapons such as the M1860 Air Rifle (just as powerful as most gunpowder-based rifles, although shorter-range), and the Kitashari meant that they were on par with elite skirmishers across the world, whilst still being able to outmaneuver their opponents. More recently, Kitai have also been equipped with Rifle Rockets, which consist of a small fired explosive charge, effective against light armour and fortifications. Although unmatched in the jungles of Promethia, the Kitai under-perform in large-scale open combat.

Whilst Kitai can be thought of the skirmishers of the Kapran army, the core infantry consists of Jiyuai, organized foot soldiers who were armed with Storm Rifles and Scatterguns. Trained for open combat, fighting in formation, and enforcement, the Jiyuai are highly organized and, on the whole, well-trained (though in wartime, the pool of Jiyuai would be diluted by conscripts). As well as being trained in a Western fashion, they also use shock tactics to rout the enemy. 'Glory charges' are commonplace, as they are very effective against other infantry formations (though do falter against automatic weapons and artillery), and grenadiers within the ranks of the Jiyuai serve a dual-role as suicide bombers, charging into the enemy ranks with primed grenades in hand. In situations against tanks and fortifications, the Jiyuai deploy high caliber anti-armour rifles, which are more maneuverable than artillery and easier to produce.

Artillery support is rather limited, with automatic weapons favoured over conventional artillery. This is out of necessity rather than choice; horse-drawn artillery was not viable in most parts of Kapra, and was ineffective at the short ranges of most conflicts. Thus, with support from AMEN, Kapra developed a slew of compact support weapons, including the infantry-carried Model 7 and heavier, horse-drawn Model 9. Less conventional guns included the Lead Cannon, a devestating anti-infantry shock weapon which could simultaneously fire twenty-five rounds of shrapnel, and, with a revolving magazine, be fired up to five times. The Heavy Rifle, although ineffective at closer ranges, was the centerpiece of many Kapran armies due to its far reach and automatic fire.

That beginning was so clever, as I was reading I was like "this seems way too modern" and then I get to the grandmother. Anyway knights, just a small thing, but despite my name, my nation's called the Imperial Sarmandars- it's a plural, kind of like the Azores, States, or Russias (from the tzar's title).

I've inadvertently used it on my Aerosani vehicles in early 1900s(1901+), but the significance is both unrecognized and unplanned.

Sorry, long time ahead of you.

1890- used on the Yellow Beast Gun Tractor

Servoth wrote:Lux, Servothian-Voerdish Protectorate, Former Voerdeland
December 29th, 1890
5:37 Eastern Time

But a few minutes after Alois had left, and some more soldiers died. A new queen piece was added to the chess board. A gun-tractor, the first of Servothian design, it was a monster. Emerald shaped, if one looked upon it from above; its body was angular, flat, and cut at many odd angles. From under the turret was a pair of tracts which carried the thing. Puffs of steam and smoke came from under the turret at random intervals. From the housing was a rotating chamber which could hold five shells and extending from that was a long barrel.

This weapon had obviously been built from half stolen schematics and mechanical diagrams, and half patch together and garage work, then all the inner parts hidden under a Servothian-esque casing. This was easy to tell by the signature Servothian backwards slanted smoke stack which stuck out of the top of the turret's casing. The gun-tractor rolled down the street, the cobblestone underneath it warped and cracked under the machines enormous weight, it stopped a building away from the post office, then following a multitude of clicks the turret face the office's front. Then it fired three shells inside and waited for news.

And Again, 1903- used on the Servothian Warjack, Kriegsmaschine.

Servoth wrote:Siege of Drakwald, North-West front
February 6th, 1903

A trail of black smoke appeared behind the Cygnaran force, the faint sound of steel-stomping ground could be heard if one listened closely. Up the hill appeared a gun metal black machine of steel and steam. It was massive, twice more than any Cygnaran machine of the same branch, and as such, a Warjack twice as slow as anything before it.

It was painted black; and perhaps the only other colors on it were the white, heavy canvas cloth covering the inner workings of the midriff, the Red Servothian War flag, and the white paint on its' side which read " Operationen 14-----Kriegsmaschine Plattform 1".

Its' armor was flat and angular, like any machine made by Servothian military engineers. It was heavy, blocky, and looked as if it could take quite a few shells. Protruding from the Servothian Warjack's back was the signature backwards pointing smokestack, which was belching black smoke and hot excess steam. The Black warjack's armor was considerably bare, plain, and boring compared to the armor of a Cygnaran warjack. Perhaps the only for of adornment on the mech was a golden and flat Servothian Eagle placed over the eyes.

In the right hand of the war machine, a long artillery cannon (most notably with a revolving chamber holding six shells, and a bayonet-esqe four foot blade attached to the end), its' left hand holding onto the barrel; on the shoulder of the left too, a hailfire gun, which alternately fired sticky grenades and chlorine canisters.

So, ya. It is what you get from the race of Soldier-Engineers. There are patents on Sloped Armor in Vapor, so go ahead, but you wont be the first to use it.

We can do it like it has been done in real history. Generally Novi Welgii is credited with the innovation of designing armored vehicles with sloped armor while in fact there have been some examples of the use of sloped armor before Welgii did it.

Is my immodest proposal. If at all possible I would like to be known as a nation that has not so much made an impression with new technology ( Welgii would in fact not have invented anything significant in the field of engines, guns or whatever) but the nation has made an impression by how they combine new innovations in their vehicles and equipment.

I know it is rather immodest of me but I was thinking that it never hurts to ask, right?

Right now I am working on a vehicle I am rather happy with but it is intentionally designed to have flaws in its configuration as well. I like making weird vehicles. So don't worry about me only designing modern stuff with chimneys sticking out of them. :D

Ya. I remember a few years ago going to an American Civil War museum here in my Home state, and seeing at one of the exhibits about how cannonballs would literally bounce off the side of slanted, thick iron armor of Ironclad ships. SO, I decided to make it a thing were Servothians make slanted armor on their vehicles out of habit.

Sorry about ruining that dream for you. Didn't mean to.

I was looking for a picture of the Yellow Beast Gun Tractor but I couldn't find it. But as I understand it, it was originally a Cyprum Xecuii-design?

Ya, the Yellow Beast doesn't have a picture, most of my designs are based purely on my imagination, so I am forced to write these long descriptive paragraphs about my equipment.

But yes, the Yellow Beast was stolen from the original Gun tractor designs, as it originated in Cyprum Xecuii as far as I know. Hence the name being a bad pun on Zhaoan soldiers. Servothians have a tendency to always want to be on the cutting edge of technology. So, if you find a Servothian spy in your factories or laboratories, just wave hello, throw him out, and his replacement will be coming by shortly.

And yes, the gun tractor design was created in Cycuiia.

It's sort of like a puffy corruption of the renault ft. Named the "Type-1," it's the most prolific gun tractor that we exported to other countries for their own use or redesign.
