Knight Admiral George Hansel
George stood on the deck of his flagship as he viewed the 5th MEU sailing towards their newfound enemy. He knew his countries colors flew high and proud above him, so he left his fear behind as the Farendale coast came into view. He had been personally selected for this mission by the Knights Regent, as he had family relations with the rebelling classes of Farendale. Birtonia had expected to come and aid the rebels, in return gaining a large ally in the region.
The Admiral soon gave the order for all hands to their battle station,s several short whistle calls rang over the ocean. immediately after, the sails were pulled up to combat status, cannon was primed and loaded, marines were loading rifles on the deck, and loading other weaponry, all ready for war..

Absurrania wrote:"Fire!" Yelled Sargeant Linedarb as he raised his musket and did so. His men soon followed.
They had been doing a routine 25 man dawn scouting mission to check on enemy movements, but had not been expecting to suddenly round a corner into another, non friendly patrol of enemy soldiers.
A mere 50 yards away from him, Sargeant Linedarb watched as the 7 soldiers raised their muskets and opened fire, before being swiftly brought to the ground by their adversaries.
Two Absurranian scouts clutched their chests and groaned, life draining from them. Another took a musket ball to the leg.
"Retreat! Retreat now! They'll have heard those shots, and the nearest cavalry will be on us within mintues!" barked Linedarb as he and his men rushed to the nearest cornfield a few hundred yards away, some dragging their fallen comrades while the rest attempted to reload their muskets for a final volley. Sure enough, cavalry arrived just as the men entered the cornfield. But they had been spotted. Linedarb, musket still unloaded, turned around, whipped out his pistol and unloaded it in the general direction of the cavalry. As did a few other of his men, before contining their way through the cornfield.
One of the enemy cavalry men grabbed his shoulder and grimaced in pain, but still continued his advance. Another fell of his horse at it fell. The rest seemed unharmed and, if anything, quickened their pace. Linedarb swore underneath his breath and followed his men through the cornfield.
The cavalry pursued them, but the scouts managed to escape their sight and made it back to base using the maze of fields, creeks, and patches of treeline. The men would eventually return to their base, with the Absurranian Royal Cavalry(ARC), and Absurranian Linemen(ARL) were encamped. Sargeant Linedarb would surely receive a stern talking to from his superior, Captain Yorkub.

OOC: No enemy soldiers have landed yet, and you didn't post how you got into Farendale either.

Captain Phillip Watkins stares through his telescope at the approaching fleet on the deck of his ship. He is with his patrol group of 4 Farendite Navy ships and orders preparation. Bells and whistles sound and he orders the smallest ship to head back to the mainland for reinforcements. The ships ready the cannons and bring the ships to face the enemy fleet. Marksmen and sailors ready Baker Rifles on deck and sailors manage grapeshot cannons on top of the masts as well as marksmen with Baker Rifles on the masts.

Farendale Beaches-Around Noon
Major General Yusuf Ali Ibn Mahmoud, of the Absurranian High Command, stood up as the his men told him that they were going to land at the beaches of Farendale. Going up to the deck, sure enough, they were laying anchor and opening up the steps.
"Alright. Infantry and Cavalrymen are to unload first, with their weapons, rations, and personal effects. Next will come the general supplies, the camp and officer staff members, the camping supplies, and all of the tools and personal effects that required in this category. Finally, the Cavalry will unload their horses and mount them. Now get to work!" barked Major Yusuf as his men began the tedious process of unloading themselves, and their supplies off of the transport ship. There were another four transport ships, and it would take the entire day to unload everything.
Sighing in exasperation, he went back to his quarters to get some rest before the actual war began.

Major General Karl Blake VI of the United Grand Duchy forces leads 500 Mounted Cavalry, 600 Infantry, and 17 Nobles to take nearby Fort Dreadlock. It is a small fortification strategic in controlling the only river in Parek County. 30 Farendite Regulars, 5 Mounted Cavalry, and 25 pieces of artillery are stationed as garrison to Fort Dreadlock. Soon the UGD forces surround the fort and demand surrender, also moving in circles around the fort to make their large forces seem even larger. Lieutenant Derrick Clark hands over his sword to Major General Karl Blake VI, and surrenders the fort. The Farendite flag is shot at, torn down, burned, and replaced by the UGD flag. The UGD captures the fort without a shot.

Knight Admiral George Hansel
Suddenly ahead of him four Farendale ships were spotting turning to combat. "Take cover!" yelled Hansel as he ducked behind the wheel while keeping one hand on it. Among the crashing of the waves in the distance echoed the familiar scream of cannon fire. Musket balls reached the Birtonian fleet first and ripped through sails, splintering railing and tagging a few Birtonian marines. Shortly after, the cannon balls hit, terrible crashing noises were soon drowned out by the screaming wounded and dying. George stood up and took in the damage on his own flagship, minimal damage, acceptable casualties "hard to port!" he screamed up at the ship liason in the top mast. Two long whistle blasts echoed, followed by an order to open fire.
The frigates formed a battle line and subsequently gave the enemy ships a full broadside of 28 cannons each, save for the flagship which sent a robust 32 shots. The single mortar ship at the rear fired off three rounds, not intending to sink anything but instead to strike fear into the heart of the enemy sailors.
