Farendale has been in heavy political turmoil steadily for a decade now and remains an often attacked nation, due to its strategic location and riches.

The Kingdom of Farendale is an Absolute Monarchy which also contains a Parliament, as the House of Lords and the House of Commons. King Frederick II is a fair man, of many peasants support him.

The United Grand Duchy of Farendale (the Aristocrats):
The aristocrats are determined to keep all their land to themselves. They illegally draft peasants into personal armies to protect themselves, as well as loyal kin. There are about 15,000 aristocrats of noble blood in Farendale. They own about 77% of the land. Their main representation is the House of Lords, which brutally tried to squash the democratic House of Commons at any time it can. Angry at the threat to their opulent lives, they have threatened war through the House of Lords.
Leader: Gerard Owen XXIII
Lord of Parek County, the largest county in Farendale at 11,000km2, he ruthlessly controls his own people with an iron first. He has a private army of 1,500 guarding him and his large Parek Castle. Owen XXIII is the head of the House of Lords, and is called "His Great Majesty, Great Marquee of the Nobles and Lords, Leader of their House, Sir Gerard Owen XXIII , Duke of Parek Castle." Owen was elected head of the House of Lords due to his status (as well as threats to attack smaller, weaker counties around him with his private army). Owen demands that the nobles be allowed full control of Farendale, to put the miserable and ignorant peasants in their rightful place.
