The Council watched and listened.

Calbrena trusted that Alpha had a suitable defense prepared until a recess could be called in which she could discuss the rest of his defense with him. Especially since she had no knowledge of either the Resonance Cascade or the Calfraxi Treaty.

"All I have to say in my defence," Alpha said, "Only that those were mistakes made in blind ignorance and desperation, in an effort to prevent a far greater threat to us all. Some of those mistakes, I have made up for, Especially the Dalek Invasion of Earth, and aiding in the prevention of the total destruction of all creation."

[Warhaven]

"And that we shall see or not see in due time, after all evidence and witnesses, all other testimony has been presented." Omni promised.

Meanwhile, Father Time whipped out evidence and documents backing up everything the Major had said thus far and passed it around for all to see.

"Wait, you have such documents already?" Calbrena asked.

"I have a copy of every action taken throughout all Time and Space, whether it involved Time Travel and/or Dimension Travel or not." Father Time said.

Fortunately, he was only accessing things the Major had mentioned. But he was also hunting for things Alpha had mentioned too.

"I would also like to add that Alpha was instrumental in the saving of Prince Arthur when someone tried to remove him from the time lines," Calufrax added.

[Warhaven]

The Council watched and listened quietly, waiting for all Evidence to be presented.

"I have evidence of several occasions when I intervened and prevented other beings from altering the time line," Alpha said, "I can give them to the council via data transfer if necessary."

[Warhaven]

"Aha! here It is, the book of Alpha, a complete and detailed record of your life, every thought, action, and deed, nothing left uncovered. We have in this book, all the evidence from both sides, so I'll just pass this around to my fellow judges while you two sides argue your case." Father Time said triumphantly.

The book show that there was a future, from Which Alpha came more terrible than even the Dalek's timeline, the details on how, who, why and what were sketchy, as even Alpha didn't know. However, the Major and the Temporal Intervention Agency didn't exist in that timeline, so Alpha felt secure that he had succeeded.

Aside from the rescue of Prince Arthur, Alpha had been part of the team who had got Prince Matthew out of the country when Gallifrey had returned, he had been the one to track down Zagreus' lair, he had saved the various previous lives of Carol on many occasions and even the one who had brought Sir Nigel home after his years of travelling, along with countless other thwarted attempts to alter the course of history by enemy agents. He'd also brought love to the heart of a fellow AI, a love he was sure she returned.

After reading the book, and listening to both cases, Omni stood.

"Now, as per this court's usual course, the circumstances beyond the known evidence. ARIDLE, FETCH THE BOOK OF LIFE!" Omni commanded.

Aridle the Archangel faded in with the most powerful of all books, the sacred book of life in which all things were recorded, without exception.

"Now behold Existence if Alpha had never existed, and never done the things he has." Omni said, opening the book, causing everything to fade white.

After the glow faded, all experienced the alternate existence that would have been, had Alpha never existed. Then it too faded to white, and when the glow faded this time, Omni had closed the book and sent Aridle away with it. Chron, Stella, and several others looked thankful to be back in this timeline.

"Now we shall convene in private to decide Alpha's fate, once, and for all." Omni decreed.

With a flash, the judges were atop Omni's mountain where privacy was assured.

"I can't condemn him," Father Time admitted after they were started determining Alpha's fate.

"Nor can I," Lady Time agreed, "He made some mistakes, but since being taken under Calufrax's wing, he's more than made up for those."

"Agreed," The Stone Brothers said.

"I can't really give my opinion," Calufrax said, "Due to my connections with Alpha."

William listened as the others made their decisions.

[Warhaven]

"It would seem a shame for him to be destroyed, or shut down, imprisoned because of his life. What he has saved us all from, is beyond payment enough for his misdeeds." Chron said, to which the rest agreed.

"Then, let him stay here, in this time line. I am sure Delta has reached the point, she'd be delighted to share her accomidations with him. As for the TIA, perhaps they could look for whomever programmed Alpha originally, and gave him his original instructions. I doubt Alpha came up with those all on his own." Kajeenith proposed.

"Alpha did indeed have to have a creator at some point. Someone had to program him for, temporal meddling. Perhaps the TIA should be looking for the root of the cause, not the symptoms." Omni concurred.

[The Floor Kippers]

"Perfectly reasonable," William said, "So we have, a unanimous decision, Alpha is not guilty."

[Warhaven]

"Then, I shall return us, and you William can deliver the verdict and reason with the TIA." Omni said. He snapped, and it was so, the council re-seated, Calbrena and the Aquamarinian waiting for the verdict they had done utterly nothing to obtain for either side. Rahegalhoff stood keeping the peace as always.

"We the council find, unanimously, that Alpha is not guilty Of the crimes laid before him, his own actions more than recompensing for any inconvenience the TIA encountered. As a suggestion, we say that the TIA should be chasing down whoever is behind Alpha and not Alpha himself" William said, he brought his gavel down and the case was closed, "Alpha is hereby given legal protection by the Bureaucracy of Warhaven."

"Very well, you honour," Major Smolensk said before vanishing.

The Floor Kippers, Some unknown point in the future

A figure in a golden mask watched the events of the past unfold.

"Now that was surprising," The figure said, meshing his fingers together, "And I do so love surprises."

"Where's Delta?" Alpha asked, "I want to tell her the good news."

[Warhaven]

"All family members are required to wait in the mess hall. If she's not there, try the Imperial Castle." Rahegalhoff said, as the Council broke apart to go their separate ways.

Chronus stood next to Alpha.

"You'll be on my team now, but still under Calufrax's direction. Mess up here, and a trial will seem pleasant by comparison." Chronus warned, before disappearing.

Alpha shuddered as Chronus' words chilled his very circuits before heading for the mess hall.

[Warhaven]

And of course, Pondera had Delta waiting in the mess hall for a final result. He'd wanted to know Alpha's fate too.

"I'm an innocent man," Alpha smiled as he entered the mess, "Acquitted of all charges."

Delta said nothing, she simply embraced Alpha.

[Warhaven]

Alpha got a hearty round of applause, Pondera and the Imperial family still back at the castle.

Alpha would transport himself and Delta there.

"Thank you" Alpha said, disentangling himself from Delta, "Thank you, kind and wise emperor and empress."

[Warhaven]

"I'm guessing you're one of us now. To that end, Delta will have to get you set up with an ID and all that." Pondera said, grinning.

[The Floor Kippers]

"At once, emperor," Delta said, dragging Alpha off to do just that.

[Warhaven]

Meanwhile, young Erdin had been playing, having fun, and generally minding his own business, when he suddenly called out for help.

"Brother Nature, Brother Life, it's terrible!" Young Erdin had cried.

There, in a grassy field, lay a dying Pegasus Mare, giving birth with her dying breath. But this was fated beyond the prowess of Time. The mother could be saved, but it was the foal that was important, fated to be with the young prince forever, two best friends.

With a gentle breeze Life and Brother Nature appeared.

Life placed a hand to the Mare's head, extending her life while Brother Nature saw to it that he wouldn't need to for long.

[Warhaven]

Thankfully, the Mare healed, and the foal was born, it's left half black, with a great white spot on its tiny wing, it's right half white, with a great black spot on its tiny wing.

"I don't know how she ended up like this, but I couldn't just leave her and her baby out here." Erdin said, worried about the two lives.
