"Hey, sweetie," William said, sitting next to her, "What's the problem?"

"Major Smolensk," The leader of the squad introduced himself, stepping forward, "Temporal Intervention Agency. I have an arrest warrant for a temporal meddler."

[Warhaven]

"You know, you were there. Grandma Calbrena killed Mommy!" Karen wailed.

"Who?" Pondera asked.

William looked confused.

"Princess, I'm pretty sure I'd remember that," He said before he looked serious, "Unless, you're seeing ahead. Even so, right now mummy is safe, and healthy and I'm not going to let anything happen to either of you."

"He has no name," The major replied, tapping his wrist, activating a hologram, "But this is his appearance."

The head of the black felis floated above his wrist.

"The Emperor is very keen he is caught."

[Warhaven]

"Ahh, him. My youngest son Sam has the keenest desire to punch his lights out for the very reason you're here for him. If you can find him, by all means, take him, to my knowledge he has no protection granted to him by The Bureaucracy. Unfortunately, I don't know where Alpha is. That's his name by the way, Alpha. You can ask my advisor, Delta. She's the one that told me his name." Pondera said.

He leaned over and pushed a button.

"Delta! Come to the throne room." Pondera summoned.

"It happened last night, and was as real as this." Karen said, confused why Daddy didn't remember. At that very moment, Chronus appeared, following a silvery gold thread that appeared out of thin air, and disappeared into it as well. He followed it along until it ran straight into Karen.

"Aha! So you're the rogue dimension hopping time traveler." Chronus said, accusationally in a joking manner.

"Of course," William sighed, "Alternative time lines"

"You called, Emperor?" Delta asked as she entered the room.

[Warhaven]

"These Gentlemen have a warrant for Alpha's arrest, and presently he has no protection under Law from The Bureaucracy, nor has he requested any. To that end, as you know him best, you are thusly required to assist them in their efforts to the best of your ability." Pondera said.

It wasn't that he didn't like Alpha, it was simply his hands were tied by Law.

"You appear to have a malformed talent for Dimensional power. This means one of two things needs to happen, either this ability needs to be removed, or fixed so it can function properly. I won't decide for you, take a few days, discuss it with your parents, then let me know, your parents know how to get ahold of me. Until then Karen, ignore your dreams, or it you must think of them, calmly relay them to your parents before acting upon them." Chronus said, then disappeared.

Relief flooded Karen, and she simply held her father.

"There is no assistance I can give them," Delta replied neutrally, "I haven't seen him for months."

"Did he tell you what he was planning?" The Major asked.

"Just as I do not discuss my work here out of respect for who I work for, he did not discuss his plans with me," Delta replied, just as neutrally.

"Damn," The Major said. He held out a device to Delta who ignored it, "I'll leave this so you can contact us if he returns."

"Thank you chron," William said as he held his daughter, "Karesh!"

Pondera nodded and Sam lumbered up from behind and took it.

"We'll keep an eye out." Sam promised.

Karesh peeked out from the other end of the car behind Karen, making sure all was ok, as Karen continued to hold her father.

"Thank you for your co-operation," The Major replied before he and his squad vanished.

"With the greatest of respect, Emperor," Delta said, "I advise against trusting the Temporal Intervention Agency."

William silently gestured for her to join them.

[Warhaven]

"Who ever said I trusted them?" Pondera asked Delta, grinning.

Sam filed paperwork, and the device whisked off to The Central Bureaucracy.

"Depending on how much redundancy's in The Central Bureaucracy, it might take us a good 10 years to get that thing back." Sam sighed.

"But what I said is also true, as he has requested nothing, he has been granted, nothing. Why, he hasn't even filed Chapter 2 with The Council of Lords." Pondera said, giving Delta the strongest hint he possibly could at what course of action Alpha could take to get The Bureaucracy on his side.

Karesh joined them, embracing them both.

"That's why I was already on my way to see you," Delta said, holding out a completed form

"Come on you two," William said softly after a while, "Lets get some breakfast."

"I'm not the Council of Lords, I'm the Emperor. But, just this once, I can help you out. These go to Rahegalhoff when their filled." Pondera said to Delta.

"What goes to me?" Rahegalhoff asked, having quietly been summoned by The Hypernet at Sam's command.

"A notice of Chapter 2." Pondera said.

"A plea for assistance in proving innocence in the face of overwhelming guilt?" Rahegalhoff asked.

"Yep, for Alpha." Pondera said.

"Oh my, to prove such a thing, and free him from any and all arrest warrents, we'd have to assemble the only group of beings whose authority cannot be overridden by any other party. Lady Time. Father Time. Chronus. Chron and Stella Jugis. Thomas and Thrower Stone. Calufrax. Omnisource. Kajeenith. By their combined authority, no one can argue the realities of any of Alpha's Temporal doings, and to insure Justice was served, William would lead that council. But again, for good or for ill, their Authority would be final, in totality." Rahegalhoff said.

"Exactly why I suggested it." Pondera said.

"The forms are filled," Delta said, "Alpha brought them to me last night, on Calufrax's suggestion."

[Warhaven]

Sam filled a few more forms out, and got the summoning device back from The Central Bureaucracy.

"Well then, give me a few days to prepare things then, and we shall begin the trial of Alpha. The Temporal Intervention Agency will be notified, that they can argue their case." Rahegalhoff said, taking the device, and heading off.

Shortly, messages arrived for those so stated, that they were needed for a trial concerning potential Temporal Criminal Activity, the Temporal Intervention Agency notified that Alpha was to be tried by The Gods and Masters of Time, their evidence, testimony, and witnesses should be brought to that trial under the authority of Omnisource and The Holy Order of Paladins.

When the day came all would be there, with only the major representing the TIA.

[Warhaven]

"Order, order, let's everyone be seated. For those of you not familiar with a Paladin trial, allow me to break it down for you.

First, I break it down for you, which I am now presently doing.
Then, I will introduce the council of authorities selected for the task of today's proceedings.
Then I will introduce the prosecution, and the Defense.

At that time, the Prosecution may state their case, and the Defense in turn, may plead their's.

After this has happened, the Prosecution may present its evidence, experts, testimony, and other errata, as commonly associated with Justice Proceedings.
The Defense of course, will be free to cross-examine at each juncture.

The Defense may then present their own evidence, experts, testimony, and other errata, and as before, the Prosecution will be free to cross-examine.

Then, the Council will call forth their own experts and witnesses to determine all circumstances not previously presented in proceedings.

That done, closing arguments may be made by both sides before the Council, at which point The Council convenes to make its final decision. Afterwards, they will announce it, and we will all break for punch and cookies in the mess hall.

There was a general nodding from the group.

"Now, introductions. I am Sir Rahegalhoff Mesquechoku. Though I am not leading the council, I am directing these proceedings, at least for the moment, due to extreme familiarity. Otherwise I will act as Bailiff.

From left to right:

Lady Time: Greater Spirit of Time and Space for Harmony Multi-verse. Equal to our own designation of Goddess.
Chronus: God of Time and Space.
Father Time: Chief Architect and Master Engineer for all of Time and Space, also final authority on all Temporal Affairs, without exception.
The Omnisource: No further introductions needed there.
Prince William Miller: God of Justice, to insure Justice is indeed served. Prince William Miller will therefore be leading the Council for that very reason.
Kajeenith, Spirit of Nothingness: No further intruductions needed there either.
Chron and Stella Jugis: Ancient Masters of Time and Space, their wisdom and Experience is insurmountable.
Thomas and Thrower Stone: Kipperese Masters of Time and Space, their responsibily and Ethical conduct are beyond reproach, they also represent Kipperese experience and Mastery over Dimensional Affairs, the Kipperese Reputation extending far and wide.
Calufrax: Time Dragon, granting this council the legendary wisdom and Insight of the Dragons.

Prosecuting this case will be The Temporal Intervention Agency, represented by Major Smolensk. He will be assisted as necessary by The Aquamarinian Cal-thek, a skilled Prosecutor for The Central Bureaucracy.

The Defendant, is Alpha, Mechanical Person. His Attorney is Calbrena, Queen of Hell.

Now Prosecution may state their case, if everyone's clear on who's who." Rahegalhoff said.

Indeed, Calbrena was by Alpha, representing him, and a white Aquamrinian was by the Major, ready to assist, but clearly expecting the Major to state the charges.

"My lord, In wish to recuse myself on the grounds that Alpha is under my instruction and care since I rescued him from a Time Reef," Calufrax stated.

"Noted, You will still be used as a witness," William replied, "Major, what are the charges you hold against Alpha?"

"The Unit designated as Alpha is wanted for several counts of temporal interference in several time zones, including, but not limited to, Causing the Dalek Invasion of Earth in a few years, The resignation of Sir Nigel Griffin, The Calfraxi treaty, The resonance cascade, The Death of Alexander Topox, the Great Harmony wars and the death of the goddess Arianna," The Major replied.

[Warhaven]

"Mr. Alpha, you will speak for yourself in pleading your case."

"Don't worry, I'll still be here for the rest of it Alpha, you just have to make your side of things known." Calbrena said comfortingly.

"I will simply state my actions were for the best of all," Alpha said, "In order to prevent a aberrant timeline, which I am quite satisfied I have prevented."

[Warhaven]

"Very well, the Prosecution may proceed with its case." Rahegalhoff said.

Unfortunatly, the Aquamarinian wasn't briefed on any of the TIA's case, so he had to let the Major take the lead.

"My case is simple," Major Smolensk said, "The person you know as Alpha has transgressed several laws of time, and being a product of my timezone, must return to that time to stand trial for his actions, which I am sure, most, if not all people in this court, have seen would have had disastrous consequences to the web of time, had they not been countered by other individuals. Indeed, Chronus himself has seen the consequences of Alpha's action when he interfered with the history of his parents"

[Warhaven]

"Ahh, did the notice not cover, that trial is this trial, it's simply been moved to a higher court, one with far wider reaching power than any mortal court, or did the presence of The Eternal Powers not signify that enough for you? As for Alpha's actions with my parents, I was at most a guide, it was the Millers that did all the action." Chronus said.

"I would like to point out, Chief Council Member William does have a full copy of your time and country's laws available to him for reference." Father Time said.

"Now, let's try this again, with the evidence, and the testimony, or we might be forced to rule against you on account of a complete lack of a case." Omni warned.

"You have the technology, summon the legal troops, get a move on it, or I'm going to eat your nation out of sheer irritation." Kajeenith growled.

"Very well," Major Smolensk said, "I shall now show the court, exhibit A, the scans taken of the time streams at the time of Alpha's interferences which all clearly show the presence of a time travel capable artificial intelligence at each nexus point, a Data scan of Alpha's brain would confirm this evidence.
The court will know how article 7 of the Floor Kippers Laws of time, 2221AD, expressly forbids the interference of any unauthorised being in the time lines of itself and allied nations.

Exhibit B shows the devastation to the many civilisations across the multiverse and and Exhibit C shows the very fractures his interferences put into the web of time, of which I myself was dispatched over a dozen times to shore up, lest the web come tumbling down around us.
Clearly, Alpha cannot be allowed to continue to interfere wherever he pleases, for the sake of continuity at the very least, there are events he has interfered with even we cannot set right without causing damage ourselves, such as the Resonance Cascade and the Calfraxi treaty."
