0600 hours: Meshik International Airport, Nuevo Meshiko

"Welcome to Nuevo Meshiko, comrade President" Upon on landing President Kim Chung Ho was greeted by his attache, stationed there before the president's arrival. The president is wearing a grey suit white shirt, black tie, and polished black loafers and an arm band with the symbol of the Workers' Party of Yuzan. He barely got any sleep from the 7 hour flight. He headed for the convoy the was waiting for him

On the way to the Palace of Government. Kim recieved a call from General Moon Bae, "Comrade President, sir, the People's Islamic Resistance has taken most of Batorvidek and are at the gates of Kadarest." reported the general with a slight tone of panic, "Alright, calm down, when I get back, call for an emergency meeting, we will this later."

0730 hours: Palace of the Government, Meshik, Nuevo Meshiko

As the president's convoy reached the parliament build, Chung Ho thought to himself "Not bad, the Winter Palace is better though,"

Inside the Palace, Kim Chung Ho was greeted by its staff. Upon entering the meeting room his attache introduced him to President Andrews, "Beloved President, please meet President Robert Andrews of Nuevo Meshiko,"

Christmas season has officially started. Even though only a small minority of Christians reside in Yuzan, non-Christian (non-theist population) Yuzanians still celebrate this holiday anyway as a way to celebrate peace and love, and massive shopping sprees.

President Kim visits Meshik

Postby Nuevo Meshiko » Wed Dec 11, 2013 5:22 pm

Meshik, Nuevo Meshiko
Palace of the Government
Wednesday, December 11th, 2013
08:15-16:30 local time

After a small tour around the government building, President Kim of Yuzan followed President Andrews into his office. After both took a seat on a large leather sofa, President Kim was offered tea and pan dulce. They got down to business immediately.

President Kim seemed most interested in an economic trade agreement than in a peace treaty, Andrews noticed, but he didn't comment on it. It was a difficult negotiation, as most of what Yuzan had to offer was readily available in Nuevo Meshiko, and vice-versa. Vehicles, IT, oil.

So finally, President Andrews settled for establishing a quota for Yuzanian imports to the country, to "test the waters." President Kim announced that Yuzan would do the same with Nuevo Meshikan products. Hyundai Thales vehicles and Byeolbich technological products (both semi-state-owned Yuzanian companies) will comprise the bulk of the imports from Yuzan. Gold, silver, copper and other metals will be exported to Yuzan in small to moderate quantities for technological manufacturing (due to government restrictions on the exploitation of natural resources), and oil is allowed to be exported in greater quantities should they require it. Other Nuevo Meshikan exports include fresh fruits, vegetables and processed foods.

The next point to be dealt with was the subject of defense. President Kim proposed the installment of Yuzanian troops on the Batorvidek-Kunestian border, which President Andrews respectfully but firmly rejected. He expressed not being comfortable with foreign troops within the country, especially as the relationship between both countries was only beginning. They did agree, however, to keep a vigilant eye on the events going on in Batorvidek. The possibility of a joint-defense operation in case either country is attacked by Batorvidek has not been discarded, and further negotiation rounds are expected.

Finally, both countries agreed to formally "develop a stable relationship of peace and collaboration in diplomatic and civil matters" as part of a peace agreement, which is expected to lessen the tension between Nuevo Meshikans and Yuzanians. Yuzanian citizens are granted access to Nuevo Meshiko once again, and Yuzanian Muslims are expected to return soon. The country remains heavily patrolled by police officials, especially in the big cities, and this is expected to continue until interregional stability can be achieved again. President Kim informed that Yuzanian security, especially around its borders, is also being reinforced.

At this point, they went out for a meal, after which President Kim was offered a tour of the Palacio de las Mil Noches mosque. There he met Sultana Esperanza I, who greeted him warmly and continued with her affairs (preparing for her trip to Krasniya). As usual, President Kim had a calm, carefree demeanor, and though his somewhat anti-religious attitude was noticeable at times, he managed to remain polite about it.

2134 hours Yuzanian Provincial Government of Mongalan, Yuzan WS

Marshal law has been lifted but still the no fly zone order is still in effect. Another An-10 with Halloranian markings has been intercepted by a MiG-31 from Air Defence. The An-10 was warned it will be shot down if it did not land. It tried to evade at first but when warning shots were fired in the third warning it complied and radioed the MiG-31. It landed at Jian Xin Airport east of YPGM. Sercurity forces surrounded the plane and was searched. It was discovered that the plane was filled with refugees from Batorvidek trying to cross to Hallorania under false flag. Some of the refugees are still being investigated if there from Batorvideki intelligence. Imigration authorities are still deciding whether or not they will be deported back to Batorvidek, let them stay in YPGM or send them to Hallorania. It appears that the first An-10 was also filled with refugees but was shot down due to the pilots not responding to Yuzanian authorities in the area.

Halloranian Ministry of Defense is truly excited by how exceptionally well qualified Yuzanian pilots are and how generous Yuzanian military department is. To intercept a four-engined turboprop passenger transport aircraft (which maximum speed is about 400 miles per hour) with a a supersonic interceptor aircraft (which maximum speed is over 1800 miles per hour and the range detection of air targets is about 125 miles) is really impressive.
Speaking of another plane with our insignias on it, we must repeat again that it doesn't belong to our air forces. If any refugees are still willing to immigrate into Hallorania (to receive Halloranian citizenship), they could always fill in an application in any embassy, consulate or consular agency of Hallorania within the IUWS and DaS. If immigrants are just seeking for a provisional asylum, then it's not exactly clear why have they attempted to cross our national border in such an extravagant manner, because we're granting provisional asylum to all war refugees or people in need.

Investigators have found out that 34 of the 124 are from the "Militia for Freedom", a faction from the Batorvideki war. They said they fear that there lives are in danger if they remained in there homeland. And they tried to evacuate as many families as they can. They say there are many others who are trying to escape the new "Marxist-Islamist regime".

They hope to gain asylum in Hallorania or Krasniya and one day "liberate there homeland".

Yuzanian immigration authorities will send these refugees to Hallorania

14 of 34 Militia of Freedom fighters will remain to serve as assets to Yuzanian initiative.

Recognition of the New Batorvidekian Regime

Postby Nuevo Meshiko » Mon Dec 16, 2013 11:05 pm

The President has expressed his sadness that the Batorvideki people had to resort to such measures of warfare to reform their government, but he sincerely hopes things get better for the Batorvidekians and that this new regime may "rebuild strained relations not only with the Nuevo Meshikan Sultanate and Yuzan, but also with the rest of Dar al Salaam and the IUWS." He noted Nuevo Meshiko will continue to keep a close watch on new developments going on in Batorvidek as well as the rest of the Region.

On the holy day of Ashura the President has made a speech to thousands of Batorvidekis in the capital of Kadarest

"Today we celebrate Ashura the day when The Sayyid ash-Shuhada, Hussain ibn Ali (SA) gave his life so that Islam could continue, when Islam was about to die, our Imam Hussain (SA) gave his forfeited his life so that Islam could survive. When he had lost everything to the Ummayads, when he had watched his brother Qasim (SA) trampled by a horse, when he had seen his other brother Abbas's (SA) hands cut off, after that despite this he still prostrated his head and gave thanks to Allah. He was a true Muslim, a true Shia, on that day nearly his entire family was matyred. Yet! brothers there are people who don't care, these Meshiks and Yuzanians when they hear the words Labaik ya Hussain they don't know or care what it means, they don't care about the importance of these words. When we scream in sadness Labaik ya Hussain! they don't understand, they think we are speaking nonsense or that we are just being stupid, they say "what they are saying means nothing, it is worthless". Yet these words have changed the course of history and kept the Hussaini revolution alive all these years. We as Shias have been waging this revolution for centuries, and we shall continue to this revolution till, the flag of Imam Hussain (SA) is raised over Mecca! Medina! Cairo! until the banner of Imam Hussain (SA) is raised over every city in the world! So when comrades, brothers and sisters we say Labaik ya Hussain! just those words are continuing the revolution of Imam Hussain! (SA). LABAIK YA HUSSAIN!"

The screams with applaud and chant "LABIAK YA HUSSAIN!". The President walked off with tears down his cheeks.

Exhausting Morning

Postby Yuzan » Tue Dec 17, 2013 3:15 pm

Chung Ho woke up earlier than this usual. As he was drinking his morning coffee, he watched the early morning news. A speech from the new Batorvideki president was on.

As the speech went on he wondered to himself "who the hell is Labaik ya Hussain and didn't we raze Medina during the Moshnian war or maybe there's another Medina?" as the speech went on he found himself getting exhausted on how tedious and ignorant it seems to him.

He sighed "Why do they put so much emphasis on a 2000 year old book. No wonder there government is going to the tubes. At least the Meshiks don't base there ideology on it, or do they?"
"anyway enough of this crap."

As he finished watching he set up is GameStation and started to play Tekken Tag 2 to relieve himself of the stress his having from watching the speech so he can have a good mood before he starts working.

The President of Batorvidek has decided to make a news announcement to the people of Batorvidek

The TV flickered on, and the President appeard on it, sit down cross-legged inside a Yurt, he had and eyepacth a beard and was wearing military uniform and a Karakul hat

"3, 2, 1 and you're live Comrade President"

The President cleared his throat and began to speak.

"This is the first live TV announcement I have made to the public so this is a very special time on a very holy month and day. I must begin by hoping you had a very productive and well spent Ashura, and may Allah bless your souls. Ok! uhhm big news here apparently some people don't like the fact we are religious and very pious *cough Chung Ho* and you know they are quite aggressive towards us but we must be strong, we must forgive as the Prophet (SA) did which is why I am starting many things which I shall uncover to you. The first announcement is the beggining of reparation of relations with Nuevo Meshiko, we are both one Ummah, we need to take care of our Muslim brothers, but however we shall still pursue the liberation of Kunest. The second one is the announcement of the creation of a new Paramilitary organisation called Mukhtar Brigades, they shall serve as a retaliation force in case of a possible invasion, now the third initiative I shall take is a global welfare organisation called the Imam Mahdi Force, which shall go around defending and helping the poor all over the world. The fourth initiative is a welfare programme which is to give free housing to all people of this nation which we shall concentrate the most on to eradicate homelessness. Our fifth and final initiative shall be the Development programme where we shall seek to further industrialize the nation through the building of more farms, factories, mines etc, etc. I hope that you have a pleasant evening and goodnight."

"sir how do I stop the recording?"

"Faruk you press the big red button which says stop recording"
"No! not that one!"

The TV suddenly shows a guide on how to survive a nuclear attack.

Pyongyan-Kadarest Treaty of Friendship

Postby Yuzan » Wed Dec 18, 2013 5:03 pm

Location: Kadarest International Airport, Kadarest, Batorvidek

After a month's long vacation in Tirania, Ambassador Pan Hee Young is called by Pyongyan to negotiate with the new Batorvideki government to repair foreign relations with that country. She does not know what to expect after the demise of Marshal Janos as so much has already changed since then.

She is to deliver this documented economic treaty it similar to the Meshik-Pyongyan Treaty of Friendship but with a few differences.

Phase one: Assistance in the reparation of damaged or destroyed infrastructure in Batorvidek through Yuzan's semi-state owned corporations. But materials must be bought from Yuzan's corporations.

Phase two: bilateral trade. Free trade of Yuzanian and Batorvideki products eg. Yuzanian vehicles , electronics(computers, tablets, GameStations etc.) and whatever Batorvidek has as GDP.

Phase three: Muslim Yuzanians who still wish to return there may do so.

Negotiations are open for descussion.

Trip to Krasniya

Postby Nuevo Meshiko » Wed Dec 18, 2013 11:19 pm

Meshik, Nuevo Meshiko
Dagame Interregional Airport - Code MDG
Thursday, December 19th, 2013
11:42 local time

The sky was quite crowded. And noisy. A rather unimpressive gray vehicle--a 2008 Qamar Vektra--parks among many other thousands of vehicles. Sultana Esperanza I peers curiously through the window from the back seat of the car. Nobody outside, of course, can see her. And if they could, they wouldn't think much of it. The vehicle looks quite ordinary, even if it is in reality as well armored as a small tank.

"Hemos llegado, Su Excelencia," the driver informs her. She shifts uneasily in her seat. The driver doesn't even try to take his eyes off her, even though she is wearing hijab today, and rather large, dark glasses.
"I have told you many times not to call me that, Alfonso," is her reply. "There is none more excellent than God."
The driver does not answer, but instead limits himself to continue gawking at her. Unable to take it any longer, she says good-bye to him and steps out of the vehicle.

The scene above her seems like something right out of a futuristic sci-fi film. Aircraft literally criss-cross the sky, landing and leaving the airport, to the point that there is more shadow on the ground than morning sunlight. Which makes the day seem even colder. Nuevo Meshiko could use another interregional airport, she thinks to herself, making a mental note to talk to the President about it.

The President. Unwillingly, fleeting images of that December night come to her mind: the color blue and the smell of strong liquor. Ugh. She forces the images from her mind. They mean nothing.

Adjusting her hijab, she makes her way toward the huge buildings. The place is enormous, yet somehow still manages to feel crowded. People come and go, and nobody gives her a second look. Though few Meshikan women ever wear hijab, it is not unusual to spot foreign Muslim women sporting them in the streets of Meshik. Today, she is just another tourist going back home.

The walls of the huge building seem to be completely made of glass. The enormous glass doors are meant to swing open automatically to allow entrance, but with the large crowds of people flooding the place, they seem to be permanantly fixed in the open position. Above the entrance, huge golden letters sparkle in the limited sunlight: AEROPUERTO INTERREGIONAL DE DAGAME - DAGAME INTERREGIONAL AIRPORT - مطار الأقاليمية دغام. She makes her way inside, past security and inside the complex. Now, to wait.

She is not alone, of course. Guards, dressed as civilians, will accompany her on this trip. She looks around, but no one seems to follow her. They are somewhere, she is sure. She doesn't bother to take a seat, and instead looks out through the giant glass walls at the aircraft outside, taking off and landing. How they managed not to collide into each other was anybody's guess. She saw several flags on some aircraft that she recognized. Terra-Pacifica, Rosenblau, Kalgeron, Barbaracx, Krasniya...

Krasniya. Nobody knew she was making this trip. It would not be announced to the public until she had safely arrived in New Krasnivostok. And if everything went well with the Premier, she would be visiting Krinsk soon. She shifted her weight nervously. She had never been outside Nuevo Meshiko before, with the exception of a small trip to Rosenblau to visit some relatives. She hadn't even been to Kunest. And she most certainly had never been to a place where religion wasn't seen as an integral part of life. The concept was alien to her. How would she be received?

She looked around her. People came and went, bustling about, unaware of her presence. She knew most of these people were Muslims, some Christians, few Jews, and perhaps there was an atheist or three about. This was what she knew. A godless land seemed almost inconceivable to her. Yet Krasniya was famous for it. And the Premier wanted to change that. Outside, the plane with the large Krasniyan flag has not moved. Perhaps that was her flight?

The President, of course, had wanted her to use a private jet--with the entire Air Force escorting it. But her insistence on being as inconspicuous as possible had finally won the battle. It was safer if they did not notice her, she had pointed out.

A sudden sound startles her, though it should have not. The azhan, signaling the second prayer of the day for Nuevo Meshikans: zuhr. The constant stream of announcements through the building's speakers halt, and a beautiful voice comes through instead, calling the faithful to prayer. All activity in the building suddenly subsides, and hundreds of people stand facing a single direction. They pray together, eventually bowing and then prostrating. The Sultana joins them, and finishes rather quickly. She stands up while many others are still on their knees, and takes a look around. This is perhaps the last prayer call she will hear in days. The thought does not excite her.

She looks over the sea of people on their knees. A handful of others respectfully stand by watching, most definitely Christian Meshikans and non-Muslim tourists. Even the aircraft outside seem to have slowed down for the moment. A large screen showing arrival and departure times has replaced them with a message:

وأقم الصلاة طرفي النهار وزلفا من الليل إن الحسنات يذهبن السيئات ذلك ذكرى للذاكرين
(١‎١‎:١‎١٤‎)
And establish salah at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds. That is a reminder for those who remember. (11:114)
Y establece el salat en los dos extremos del día y en las primeras horas de la noche. Es cierto que las bondades anulan las maldades. Esto es un recordatorio para los que recapacitan. (11:114)

She smiles at the familiar verse. Ya Allah, am I going to miss home...

"Fucking enviromentalists!" shouted Hussain after slamming his fist on the table. "Yes sir?" said Faruk. "Grrrrr, those sarhosh salak now we must out do them, but how?" said the President. "Sir, I studied chemistry in Baghdad and apparently there is a extremely efficient, renewable and environmentally friendly fuel source called ethanol, we can make it through sugar cane and sugar beats" said Faruk. "Ethanol you say? That name rings a bell..... Oh yeah, while I was working for Ismail as his General Secretary of the Party, he told me that if I succeed him and Yuzan tries to out do everyone in environmentally friendlyness, that he has documents and blueprints for Ethanol farms" replied Hussein. "Quick! to the Central Committee Office" shouted Hussain. After an hour of running, they arrived at the Office "phew!, well lets look in those files, shall we, E......Ethanol found it!" Exasperated the President. "OK here are the plans and the blueprints, and the bill for Ethanol fuel" exclaimed Hussain. "OK, let's turn on the announcement loudspeakers". "People of Batorvidek! in the coming months we shall be transferring fuel usage from petroleum to Ethanol, construction of farms and cars suited to this shall begin immediately, that is all".

"Using pure Ethenol is alot cheaper but in the long run we will have destroyed most of our farmable land. Thus defeating the purpose of renewable energy." says Minister of Agriculture Eun Joon.

"Our company has already built prototypes for purely electric vehicles. But we still need some more government funding if we want to kick it up to full production by the end of the year." says CEO Jung Ryun of Hyundai Thales.

Heheh, there is a reason we have a large agricultural sector, we have a lot of fertile farming land, the south is almost all fertile land. And the country is self sufficient in food supply and we are continuing to build more farms for food and ethanol.

The home peninsula is mountainous in which our primary GDP is minerals (iron, ore, diamonds, gold, silver). But we just acquire the YPGM which has plenty of fertile... Maybe not so fertile given the winter season. That's why we have to farm fast before that season comes.

We have to start farming as soon as winter ends, because otherwise the cold winter steppe winds ruin the crops. Northern Batorvidek is almost all steppes with a few mountains. Basically the mountains in Northern Batorvidek have wind which goes down them and across the steppes towards the south, that's why we used to all be steppe tribesmen, because we couldn't settle before we had more efficient ways of farming because the crops would all get ruined by the harsh northern winter winds. It is also another reason why Kunest was such a big loss to us, because it had alot of farm land and we lost it all. Nagiya is on the border of the steppes, so all the steppe tribesmen of the north go there to buy provisions. Kadarest survives because it is near the sea and on a very well protected road so lots of grain and other products get there and also because it is near the sea and it takes a while for food trucks to arrive, Kadarestis mainly live off fish and seafood.

[OOC: I'm really curious on the continuation of the trip of the Sultana to Krasniya FWS. As far as I know Krasniya is a very secular country although not as secular as Yuzan WS.]
