INTRODUCTION.

The year is 2456, tensions are high among the Super Powers after a bomb detonated outside the Helghast embassy in the United Stars. The Helghast seem certain that one of the other powers are behind it, but both are denying all responsibility. Trade lanes are being raided by an unknown yet highly equipped privateering organization, clearly being backed by some wealthy investors of unknown origins. Clearly someone, somewhere is trying to spark a serious conflict, and things are not looking good, especially with the vast ideological shifts which have turned all three powers into not only competitors for galactic domination, but ideological enemies too. Will you take up arms in the name of one of these great nations and their way of life? Will you go it alone and seek to further your own ideology's foothold in the galaxy? Or shall you try to maintain your neutrality, keeping your head low in hopes of surviving these times of uncertainty with relative ease? This is where your tale begins..

The virtual news boards across the SWU light up over the recent embassy attack. Not much details have been released. Many of the citizens of the SWU take a moment of silence to honor their close comrades in the Vekta Helghast Empire. After this attack there have been reports of screening all incoming travelers and all hubs are on high alert. As for troop movements there have been none yet, but there is more activity near the military outposts facing the unknown sector of the galaxy. No further details except a statement released by Scott Zimmer, chairman of the CCCP. "We will not tolerate attacks on any embassies anywhere, they are the bridge to diplomacy and peace in this galaxy. We will offer our comrades in the Vekta Helghast Empire any support and information requested. We mourn their losses and the losses of the citizens of the Federation of the United Stars."

This is the Federal Galactic News Bulletin, reporting on the 5 August 2456. We have reports coming in now, of a confirmed attack on the Federation of United Stars by an unknown fleet, the reason behind this attack is currently unknown, although we have suspicions of it being a terrorist attack of some kind. Further reports state that the Council has gone into immediate high alert and have called for a full meeting as soon as possible. The attack took place after a fleet of United Stars battleships left from Atlas, heading towards New Rodinia. As the fleet arrived at New Rodinia they were attacked by an unknown fleet which we currently suspect to be a terrorist organisation of some kind. There has been an estimated death count of at least 250 civilian casualties as well as 354 military personnel.

Rumours are coming in at this time to suggest that the attack itself is linked with the recent attack on the Embassy of the Vekta-Helghast Empire, council members will be arranging a meeting with the empire itself to begin a full investigation into the sudden attack on our Federation. We do have footage of the attack that took place although we advice against viewing such a thing. We will be working around the hours to bring you the latest news on this situation, if you feel you have been effected by this attack, or have family located in New Rodinia please contact us for further details and advice. A fleet of small fighters has been dispatched with a team of medical experts from all over the Federation, let us join together at this hour and mourn those who lost their lives in this tragic event.

As The Freeman drifts among open shoals and tides of dust she intercepts an encrypted military transmission

Captain James Standhoff is lounging on the bridge, drinking half a gallon of Rum, the usual activity of the day for him. Suddenly his Chief Communications officer opens his screen and gives him the news they just decrypted from the SWU. "Aye Chief, alert the helmsman to set a course for the asteroid fields just outside of governed space." Said Captain Standhoff, hoping to prey upon some commercial or military cargo ship carrying needed supplies...

As news reports come in of a second embassy attack the Soviet Workers Union declares what is being called the "Iron Curtain." Military patrols with direct link to Fleet Command have been stationed on every border as a precaution. When questioned, the government replied "Due to the recent events the Soviet Workers Union is being placed under a state of high alert after the unknown fleets were detected. We hope to work alongside the Federation of the United Stars. Such attacks can not go unpunished or undetected, any unauthorized ship or craft within 60 light years of any border will be hailed and questioned their business, if there is a refusal to identify the craft will be fired upon and destroyed this act excludes all Federation of the United Stars and Vekta Helghast Empire crafts that have been confirmed military or civil transport." The official also stated that the FUS and VHE exclusions would be to keep the tensions low between the three powers, but still that any military craft that close to the border from either nation will be asked to state their business, and will not be treated like hostiles in any way, and that cooperation with one another is key to solving the situation.

As The Freeman nears Soviet Workers Union space it receives a military hardcoded hailing frequency. Captain Standhoff opens it, and curiously reads the screen. It states that since he is in an unidentified vessel he needs to state his business or risk being fired upon and destroyed by the SWU Navy. He turns on his hailing frequency and opens comms with the nearest SWU Ship. "Hello, This is Captain Smith of The Freedoms Progress, we are humanitarians looking for supplies to distribute to the survivors and families who have suffered in the embassy attacks, may we proceed?" The captain awaits the return message from the Navy while he orders the crew to boost engine power in case their ruse is seen through.

Through the quantum clouds of the collective, a private review has begun between three members of the collective, observers whos role was to make an initial report and then, give it to the rest of the collective for further review. The collective intelligence of all Ancilla was a busy machine, busy and present with each other at all times throughout the galaxy, they have been an ancient breed, but long single to one home, The Ancilla have recently started to expand outwards into the galaxy, discovering new locations, new resources, and most importantly other worlds with life.

From what the observers could detect from the cold grasp of the stars, conflict began to arise from the organics who held galactic power the most. So far the Ancilla have a favorable view of the ones who call themselves the United Stars, as they are the most likely to benefit the Ancilla the most, the Union was another thing however, an unknown factor in the galactic equation to the Ancilla, it was a poor all right, but they do not know how. Perhaps in another time the Ancilla would be up there, but they have stayed single for a long time, preferring to keep away the flesh of others, the lower life forms present.

The recent attacks on the embassies perplexed the Collective, what goals did they service? what did they hope to accomplish, why was it done in such an inefficient way? Why ignite a possible cold war. Of course being a transcendent life form made of artificial and modified minds, as well as thinking faster than the speed of light, the collective understood very well that it was an attempt by a unknown party to disrupt the galaxy, and cause the powers to fight and bring down many for them, the possible lawlessness that follows makes a pirates life easy, order dives into chaos.

What follows is strange, should the collective try and fix it? Should they attack pirates? Or should the Collective choose a side...currently the collective was to remain neutral but supportive of the United Stars, if the United Stars proved to be an overall beneficial factor, they will support them further. But if not, or if doing so would cause a risk, the Collective shall leave them behind. The best possible outcome will leave the organics in a galaxy of disorder, ripe for the collective to colonize unopposed. It won't be a conquest and enslavement of life, but an expansion to worlds and systems that would benefit the collective, especially without interference from any body.

Of course the pirates will be an issue, the most they can get would be some metals, those that survive a self destruct protocol. However the Reaper program was being set into motion, soon not even the mightiest of pirate fleets will be of concern, that is if the powers that be do not cause worry to the collective. For now, the collective can do with one, it is for the best, as they are turning the sun into a giant battery for a super computer they will build around it, they did take a long while after all, and it was about time. Though to be fair, most of the time was the conversion of the planet they call home, and the safe creation of a new planet for the biological life that once called it home, at this point in their development, it was the Ancilla which was the most destructive to a planet.

After further research was done, the observers spoke up.

"Recent reports show that an embassy between the power of the Vekta-Helghan Imperium has been attacked by an unknown party, a Federation fleet has also been attacked itself when they made their way to New Rhodina. The Union has thus declared that all ships must face a search and seizure at boarder regions, this does not extend to the other powers."

"Illogical, out of all, the other two powers would have the most likely success in preforming this stunt, blind trust only serves to open ones self to further harm through shrouded tactics."

"This is the mind of the organics, they do not see through logic first, they feel with emotions instead."

"Regardless, we have come to the conclusion that no party is responsible at this time, but we have to reevaluate the threat assessment we made prior."

"The Imperium is still against extra species cooperation, they will be a major hostile to us, we shall have an active defense against them."

"If they attempt to make peace and use us as pawns?"

"We either use them as our pawns, or we check their truthfulness via terminals throughout the galaxy, Helghast will be a target of the reaper program."

"They have a small population compared to our programs, if we create enough platforms we can drown them in metal and death in war."

"We still do not know their full military capabilities, observation is preferable before military countermeasures are made."

"Agreed."

"It appears that they are fascist, such primitive ideologies boarder on primal thought process structures, their belief in superiority due to their genetic code is also a flag, a sign of either arrogance to nature, or just as likely...they are self aware of any short comings and make due by unleashing anger outwards to others, as to seem greater than who they already are."

"As well, their Warmongering nature seems to indicate that they will be violent, countmeasures are of the utmost importance, mercy is not permitted upon hostiles."

"They do not like isolationism, this will bring us into direct conflict and direct competition, they will directly act hostile towards us through various degrees."

"What about the Union, how will we look upon them?"

"They are tolerable towards species integration, there is too little data on the subject, so we will assume that contact will not be hostile towards us."

"As well, they are a militaristic society, this means they will have a large military build up."

"They have a strong leaning towards interventionism, perhaps we can use them in our favor, technically we are their preferred system in the end, doubtful to be achieved by simple bound organics, but perhaps our freedom and cooperation can be used as a bargaining chip if we fall under fire from the Imperium."

"So what about the Federation?"

"They have an import of medical technology and appliances, we can use this to garner a strong economic bond, if there is anything we need such as information of free resources, we can give them our own as well as medical technology. They are organic, and thus have frail bodies, perhaps we can give them the light that made us who we are? If not what made many of us who we are as a collective can be sued to further benefit them."

"It appears that they prefer extra species communications and bonding, further cooperation is beneficial."

"As well, they appear to dislike warmongering nations, the Federation so far appears as a strong ally and a powerful anchor for further collective development."

"As well they are strong supports of interventionism, further help to repel possible Imperium forces."

"They are also militaristic, but everything else seen so far will point to their arms being aimed elsewhere."

"Favorable, they must be contacted peacefully and an alliance must be made. Further cooperation will benefit collective and Federation."

'How will we deal with Imperium threat?"

"In case of Imperium attack, we can use our influence on the other powers."

"Influence, we do not follow."

"The Union prizes itself in unity, they both economically and politically oppose the Imperium, by appealing to their sense of unity and prosperity of a utopia, we can gain their favor and use them as a deterrence and defense while we grow. As for the Federation, beneficial cooperation, and the foundation of a strong alliance will guarantee our protection, this way we will be able to ward off all Helghast attempt."

"With this we can slowly have the Imperium wilt away as the other two grow, and with our backing the Federation will grow and overcome the Unions pressure."

"Leaving the two of us, and with just the two of us, by playing nice, we can continue to subvert their government to our requirements until they are either added to the fold, or dispersed as a minor civilization."

"We will continue on later, however this mysterious power threatens our rise."

"The Agony of the Iniquitous has been used for a long time, if we modify it and give it a name and history, as well as create false flags, we can have a sizable threat that even this power will be doubtful of."

"Very well, create the first reaper, and send all information to the collective, we shall continue to observe."

And just like that, the Ancilla have made their choice, they will attempt to subvert, change, and end the current balance through political maneuvering, they have chosen the path to become their own power, but its success depends on how they contact the Federation, from there things will defiantly become interesting.

Helghast National Address.

Screens across the nation begin to flicker into life, as the Emperor, Hayden VII begins his national address.
"My people, Sons and Daughters of Helghan, for many years, we have been a broken nation: shunned, oppressed, and conquered by those we sought to escape. Five hundred years ago, my great grand father asked for time, and that time was granted by you. You: the strength in my arm, the holders of my dreams... Our forefathers embarked on the greatest exodus in the history of all mankind. An exodus for freedom, Helghan became that freedom. Our new world changed our bodies. At first, it weakened us, but in fact, we were growing... stronger. In the time you have given us, we have rebuilt our nation, we have rebuilt our strength, and we have rebuilt our pride! Our enemies at home have been re-educated; we have given them new insights into our cause. On this day, we stand united once more. On this day, those driven to divide us will hear our voice! On this day, we shall act as one, and we shall be ignored NO MORE! Defenders of the Helghast dream, NOW IS OUR TIME! On this day, we stand united once more. On this day, those driven to divide us will hear our voice! On this day, they will know our victory is imminent! Today I present to you, the greatest weapon this Galaxy has ever seen!"

With this, the screen flickers, and a new scene emerges from the darkness, it appears to be within the bridge of a Helghast vessel, the camera staring out towards a small planet (A barren wasteland of a planet). There's very clearly a lot of movement behind the camera, men and women can be heard yelling and walking around, but suddenly silence falls, only to be interrupted by a strange robotic voice, "Ten.. Nine.. Eight.. Seven.. Six.. Five.. Four.. Three.. Two.. One.. Zero.." Upon reaching zero, a loud grinding noise can be heard from elsewhere in the ship, along with what sounds like a rocket engine beginning to start. Seconds later, a large missile makes it's way out in front of the bridge, on a direct collision course with the planet, a green trail following it along.. It takes very little time for it to make it's way into the atmosphere, upon impact a large energy spike would be detected by any advanced scanning systems in the sector, as a large green coat begins to cover the planet..

Upon completely covering the planet, a large pulse emits from it, creating a green 'fog' around the planet. Several moments pass before the fog clears, revealing quite the horrifying sight..

Left is the after picture, right is before. Imagine it like a nuclear bomb, it impacts creating a huge shockwave, the energy spike taking out any electronics, leaving a little nasty gift behind. Petrucite Energy, only in this case it's completely instable due to the blast. Anything moving too quickly within will end up getting a nasty zap and turned to a red cloud.

The council had gathered, they sat in absolute silence as they waited. Before long, the doors at the end of the long hall broke open, the infamous Colonel Radec storming in, his two guardsmen either side of him as he takes up his position at the foot of the table, directly opposite the Emperor, immediately speaking, "Your highness, the weapon test has occurred as planned, on all Helghast channels, as per your orders, sir."

"Excellent. How did it perform?"

"It performed.. Adequately."

"Very. Very good. Perhaps now those who do not share in our galactic views shall re-evaluate how they deal with us in diplomacy, after that little display of force.. Now, onto business. It has come to my attention that we know very little about some of our lesser neighbours.. What do we know of Siladae and Iniyuras?"

A young man, sitting mid-way up the table begins to answer, "Siladae is ruled by a wolf-life species, they hold a semi-positive view of ourselves. However, they're not too fond of our method of rule, sire. The Iniyuras planet on the other hand is ruled by a machine race, so far as we can gather. But we know little more than that, I'm afraid."

"I see.. Well then, it appears I have your first duty for you, Secretary of Foreign Affairs. Send a message to the planet of Iniyuras, inform them that we'd like to open diplomatic channels with them."

"Yes sire."

"Now, if there is nothing else, I shall be off."

With this the meeting disperses, and a message is broadcast on an open channel to the Iniyuras system.

Dear whomever is concerned,

By order of Emperor Hayden VII, of the Vekta-Helghast Empire, I write to you to request the opening of a private, diplomatic communication channel between our two sovereignties as part of our latest campaign to expand our diplomatic ties with emerging powers across the galaxy. In addition to said communication channel, the Emperor has permitted myself to invite a representative from your nation to a meeting above the planet of P2-91 Charlston, on the Helghast civil-transport station OMEGA. A fully un-armed vessel, capable of holding up to 35,000 residents at any one time. During said meeting, we shall discuss the probability of an open trade agreement, transit treaties and anything you may wish to propose or discuss.

As The Freeman remains in place waiting a reply, they detect multiple Soviet Naval Corvettes inbound. The ranking officer in the small battle group hail the ship. They send a transmission "This is Captain Zhokolov to the Freeman. You are in danger of trespassing into Soviet Air Space. You are to divert your course away from here or you will be declared as hostile. This is due to the Iron Curtain act passed, we have state ships guarded by multiple dreadnoughts transporting said supplies manually to the relief aid."

The television flickers on, every channel takes you back to a bulletin image of the council hall. As with those watching, the main doors open followed by a large group of people. They all walk in and take their places. Members of the public as well as council members sit in their sits poised of any emotion, looking forward towards the president and other councilmen.

The president stands up, looking forward adjusting himself before speaking...

'Citizens, members of the council, members of the peoples voice and others. We stand here tonight to hold a session that will change our future, the way our system works and how our society works. In the recent days, we have been subject to countless attacks from an unknown hostile faction. Lives have been lost, and our infrastructure severely damaged, although these scars will heal over time. We cannot sit by and allow such a thing to happen again, which is why I have called this session with the council at this most darkest hour. I ask now for council member Kathleen Rhodes to stand and begin this session.'

As the president finishes, Kathleen Rhodes stands and takes her position behind one of the podiums.

'Thank you Mr President, council members of the Federation and others. As said, we are here to begin the most unthinkable task of ensuring that our place in this universe is protected. With a private meeting that took place a few days ago to discuss and develop a plan to ensure we have the sufficient resources to defend ourselves and our outer colonies we have decided to introduce a bill that will allow us to increase our spending on the military, navy more so. We conclude a 30% increase in spending which would allow us to produce an efficient and well equipped army that could sustain a heavy invasion force as well as perform a counter attack on such an incident. We would also produce an experimental weapon that we have been working on since the signing of the Federations of United Stars, such a thing will be spoken further of in a private meeting with the president and council members. Such a weapon has been made and will be tested at a later date agreed by with the president himself.'

Kathleen Rhodes looks towards the president, giving a nod before returning to her seat.

The president stands up, walking towards his podium before speaking.

'This bill shall be passed, unless any of my fellow council members have anything else to add or feel any objection to the bill? "The president looks around the council room for a few seconds, nobody raises their hand." Then let this be the day the Federation took a stand against terrorists and other hostile factions that seek to bring destruction to our people. As to the experimental weapon, we have pushed such a project forward, if you will. Look at the screen, this weapon will bring us security and a hope for future peace in the system and elsewhere, such a destructive weapon needed in a society like this is hugely unwelcome but in times like this... We have no choice.'

The president turns to the screen, watching with the rest of the council members.

As the video ends, those sitting in the crowd sit their in silence, some of them shaking.

One of the council members stand up, speaking they say something.

'How do you expect us to carry such a destructive weapon around, what ship do we currently possess that we could even imagine to place this weapon onto?'

The council member sits down, the president stands, responding to the question.

'We've designed a ship which can act as a carrier as well as a full force fighter. It can sustain heavy attacks and is nearly completely impenetrable, only an large force could successfully destroy such a vessel, we've named it the Bengal Class. "The president looks at his terminal, pushing a few buttons activating a screen on each council members terminals, it displays the Bengal Class and it's features.'

The Quantum cloud of the Collective has recently been active once more, the collective was recently taking time, shifts between the work loads of the day. Such an occasion was not out of fear but discovery. Normally the Collective would be busy focusing on internal affairs, but whenever communication waves are captured, they was always a chance it might have been sent instead of picked up. In this case, the Imperium sent a message towards the Collective, anticipating a response from the collective, though they obviously didn't know much about them, something which was not to blame, after all the Collective has been a secretive type for centuries, and only now has it began to move from its system into the galaxy.

The cycle was currently stagnating loosely, as several terminals have merged into a singularity in order to convene on the issue presented fourth. Despite this pressing issue, the construction of the Dyson super computer around the systems sun and the modification of the Agony of the Iniquitous remained on track. There was no ancilla which could not make its voice unknown within the Collective, everything was simply being switched and carried out evenly. This allowed the work shift to switch between platforms rather easily, when this section of the collective is done, they will transition to fill in anothers duty, and so forth until overall consensus has been achieved, in total, it would take anywhere from a half hour, to several for each to reach their decision.

As soon as the crew heard the words "hostile" the engines were brought up to full capacity and lurched straight towards the Soviet battle group. The Freeman blindly launched several torpedoes in their direction and quickly make a 180 and attempted to make a run for it.

The crew had now set course towards one of the shipping lanes to observe and await their moment to strike a civilian vessel, they moved into a nebula in hopes to shroud them from any military vessels.

Captain Standhoff, tense one the bridge grows tired of waiting for unprotected merchant craft to drift by and out of pure luck stumble upon cargo valuable to them. He brings up the comms display and orders Chief Engineer Donnely to bring the engines to full power again, he then barks an order to his helmsman to set a course into the galaxy trade route 117A. The captain then changes the display of the ship from The Freeman to a Helghast designation in hopes of crossing the border and finding work for the crew, who desperately needs shore leave.

The news boards light up once more in the SWU as a ship callsign "The Freeman" has been put on the wanted list under the Galactic Terrorism Act of 2451. The information on said ships power source, engine designs, weapon types, and the likes have been sent to the United Stars and the Vekta Helghast Empire under the Intergalactic Security Act. In other news the board reports, legislature in the SWU government have passed the Species Civil Equality Act ending all segregation in education, work place, government buildings, and ending segregated divisions in the military. This is one of the many acts being passed in the long reformation process of the SWU. Some are calling this reformation Perestroika.

As The Freeman reaches Helghast space borders Captain Standhoff opens a comms chanel to the Military Frigates patrolling the area. "Ahoy there! This is the Boraski! We are requesting permission to cross your borders, my privateers and I are in desperate need of shore leave and resupply. We will only stay for one standard day and we will depart on our way, we will not cause any harm to your citizens, once again we are privateers, not pirates." As the comms channel closes the crew goes around their usual tasks and readys weapon systems, engine power, and damage control systems.

The room was tense as Senator Trayken, one of the many senators who were elected all across Siladae, stood at a wooden podium and stared across the cyan room. The wooden flooring creaked as the senator stood there, piercing through the silence in the room. The senator unfolded a piece of yellowed paper that was in his pocket. On it were various different markings in the Rusklovma's language. To a human, however, they would just look like the scribblings of an idiot.

"My fellow Rusklovma," he began in low voice, "The state of the galaxy is... terrible, in lack of a better word. The three major powers have knives at eachother's throats and Siladae is cought right inbetween two of those powers! If war does occur, between the Helghast and the United Stars, it would be incredibly difficult to maintain neutrality. Those two empires would not take that as answer... they would want us to pick a side. That being said, it would be our greatest folly if we did not align ourselves with a military power, and from what we know of, the Helghast have a greater military than the United Stars. I firmly believe that it would be a terrible mistak if we didn't ally with the Helghast"

"The Helghast can go n' die in a hole," yelled a Senator towards the back of the room, "They are just a bunch of dictators! We need democracy on our side! Several senators began to cheer this man's idea. Soon, the room exploded with debate as the two sides began to fight over which would be a better ally, the Helghasts or the United Stars. Then, things went from bad to worse. One of the senators pulled out a small velvet pouch and poored out a dark blue powder into his hands, the drug known as Eldiman, which he then smelled. High on the drug, the senator, who was in favor of allying with the United Stars, grabbed his cane and leaped ontop of another senator. The other senator fell to the floor, and the high-senator began to bash his head with the cane until it broke.

The rest of the debate, however, was mostly nonviolent aside from that. A fist fight broke out in another part of the senate chamber, but it was not as brutal as the brawl between the drugged senator and the other. However, this clash was used by the media in Siladae in an attempt to influence the civilians to believe that those who supported the United Stars were violent drug addicts. This campeign, though it lasted for a short time, did sway the public in supporting the alliance between the Rusklovma and the Helghasts.

The room was silent, all except for the scratchy sounding record, playing from the corner of the room. In the room, the president sat, looking out the windows on the back wall of his room, revealing the political district of Hyldkrai. He stood there, contemplating what his action should be. On the one hand, he could ally the Rusklovma with the Helghast and have a strong militaristic empire backing the species. But on the other hand, the United Stars is a far more democratic and free empire in comparison to the Helghast Empire.

Clovisin Varkozin, the president, plopped back in to the soft chair that was behind his desk. He began to work on a message to the leader of the Helghasts.

The letters that light up every news board around the galaxy as the Soviet Workers Union's military communications traffic flood. Reports of unidentified hostiles, the same ones that attacked both the Vekta Helghast Empire, and the United Stars. New Alexandrov had become besieged under attack within the SWU. With in minutes of the distress beacon the 65th Fleet arrives following a massive engagement. One of the hostile ships was destroyed while the rest fled away, there was only one survivor from the 65th. The technology was far beyond anything the Soviet Workers Union has seen. Relief efforts and reconstruction have already begun. Minutes later a statement was released by Chairman Zimmer. "They have attacked our allies, they have attacked our neighbors, now they have finally attacked us. I am declaring ultimatum against these unknown foes. As we speak our best men have retrieved any part worth salvaging. This is also a call out, to the Vekta Helghast Empire, and the Federation of the United Stars. We are the major powers of this galaxy, it is our responsibility to keep our people safe and in my belief the life of the galaxy. The Federation of the United Stars proclaim to keep what is just, just, and the Helghast to keep their purposes and future plans for their great nation on track. Ire prime.
The world of Ire Prime was a jungle world, and was conquered by the helghast a century ago. Ever since then, the Ire have been rebelling off and on. Today, another rebellion was going to happen. I nthe main city of Ire Prime, the governor of the planet was giving a speech.He had placed guards on the roves and buildings of the city, to protect him while giving the speech. But then guards started disappearing. They would be found with gashes in their chest and their throats slit A ire damped in camo, place him self on a seven story building over looking the speech, and began to check his equipment, a Ashat Sniper rifle, the traditional high caliber sniper rifle of the Ire. He waited for the governor to begin his speech, and took aim.

And fired. The bullet traveled right into the Governors head, brain tissue came out, and the Governors guards began to scan the roof tops and buildings, The Ire sniper was already gone.

The rebellion has begun.

Space, it was a calm and beautiful realm, the greatest achievement a species can do is to survive long enough to move and live within the stars, beyond home. The lasting light of a nebula, the serene illuminated presence of stars, it all spoke to the mind and body, an ecstasy of pure, raw emotion. But it was an experience that has become natural for some, for the Collective, these wonders that fill organics with pride, would be an overload.

The galaxies wonders were but a normal day, no wonder a wonder, Ancilla preferred the simpler things in the universe, the smallest of life forms were the grandest of stellar engineering. A single planet with no intelligent life, was the possible bed for a sleeping giant, and water was a gift that breed life. The Collective have always remained to themselves, they do not like needless destruction, the unwarranted savage takeover of land.

The Collective has finished its greatest prize, they have created a super computer around their sun, keeping only the smallest of light within the space they occupied. Today marked the event that would shape the Collective for the future, the expansion into the nearest system, were they shall craft a sequel to their legendary Iliad. The system is bare, no life can exist, for at this time, the smallest of the three bears is but a dream, his porridge has not been poured, the golden haired wonder has not tested the wonders of world building...it was the perfect place to call home.

But this was not the only experience sold away for the minds of the Collective, a new class of ships have made themselves known, a call to the scourge of the galaxy, a seemingly timeless threat from shadows. Like the gaping maw of a predatory monster from the deepest pits of mans fear, a object of incomprehensible structure, of a black shine rose from the pits of the home of the Ancilla. the black tentacles creep amongst the stars as two claws grabbed hold.

The shine of blue receded after a second of showing, the eye of terror blinked, coming to life as the massive beast of hell roared its awakening, desiring the flesh of the guilty, even so soon after birth. The foul within the galaxy continue to prey upon all, the pain they pursue ingrained in the fears of many. No more shall the weak cower, no more shall the powers force themselves upon others, the wicked shall suffer at the first stage of Armageddon. The crawl towards the Federation was a slow one, not due to the lack of momentum, but out of the desire to take things slowly. The Epiphany was a warship, designated for fleet carry. Despite its offensive nature, the ship was at Federation space, not for the act of to harm, but the act of bringing peace. The Ancilla within were not stupid, no...they were far smart than any organic. As things seemed to go now, they communicated orders at speeds faster than light, any order could change on a dim if so was to be mandate.

It was early in the morning when the protesters came. All of them were supporters of the United Stars, who feared that if Siladae and all of the Rusklovma allied with the Helghan Empire, the government would soon become a dictatorship, like the kings and queens of old. These protesters gathered in Freedom Square, where it was only two hundred seventy three years before that the planet united under one democratic government. Numbering only around two hundred strong, this is where the protesters would try to get their point across to the government: Ally with the United Stars or face a horrible demise.

The protesters gathered in the square and began to chant pro United Stars phrases and just began to cause an uproar in the town. Soon, the small group that was two hundred strong now numbered around a thousand strong, and still growing. This set the stage for the beginning of a battle, as the protesters began to get unruly. A few military police vehicles arrived at the scene and tried to quell the protest to the best of their abilities.

"Go back to your homes," they began to say over a bull horn, "Go back to your families. We do not want any trouble" The police tried to keep them calm, but it would not last. Eventually, after a few hours of protest, a few civilians began to throw stones at the military police.

"Why won't you do yer damn jobs," they began, "And protect the people?" They would always get the reply that the police were helping the people. "Then why are we tryin' to help a dictatorship?" the crowd would respond. However, Captain Grovyn, the commander of the police there, had enough of the unruly citizens.

"Open fire," he told the police, "Before we all get killed" The soldiers stood still for a moment, trying not to believe the orders they had received. It would nearly be treason to open fire into a crowd of unarmed protesters. And then, that was when a soldier was nailed in the head with a rock. He hit the ground, dead. The soldiers surrounded the man, trying to save him, but he was as good as dead. Once this happened, it was completely within the police's rights to open fire.

The first burst of machine gun fire rang out and screams could be heard. The crowd dispersed as several more machine guns began to open fire. Rifle men also began to fire into the crowd, which was now scattered across the square. Now, six bodies could be seen, lying in pools of their own blood across the square. But, that was not enough to quench the police's thirst for blood. They continued to fire, and then there lyed five more bodies. It was now when a battle came out of this massacre.

Several civilians got a hold of weapons and began to return fire, sending bullets back at the police. One policeman fell dead whilst the other bullets pinged off of the metal armor of the vehicles. More shots were fired, another policeman dead, and eight more civilians to take that policeman's place. It was clear, now. Myniska had become a warzone. Soon, explosions could be heard, whether from cars that were caught in the crossfire or from grenades, lobbed by the soldiers.

The battle lasted for twenty five minutes and only ended when Government Aircraft reached the scene and began to attack the armed citizens. Once the smoke and debris cleared, it was found that fifty four civilians had been killed while only eight soldiers were killed in the firefight.

This only inspired civilians in Myniska to fight for their rights, and fight to ally with the United Stars. The First Siladaen Civil War had just begun, and the first shots were fired in Myniska.

Thus, he has permitted myself to inform you of his acceptance of the invitation to your council meeting, but has urged me to inform you that this does not mean that a decision has been made on whether or not a treaty would be within the interests of the Empire or it's citizens. You can expect our diplomat to arrive over the coming days, I can only hope that some form of agreement can be met with regards to the recent attacks.

With all that is occurring in the Galaxy, the Ministry of Defense in the capital had received an incredibly large flow of additional traffic, however, behind closed doors it was just like any other day, quiet and self-kept. In conference room 3-02 Major Joe Baker had just received a dossier from the Soviet Workers Union with regards to a ship with the call sign 'Freeman', the dossier had branded the ship as terrorist operated, and thus earned it a position among the P.O.I. list. Which made it all the more interesting when Joe received word of it's entrance into Helghast space. He pondered the request for several moments before instructing a message to be relayed to the vessel through a nearby space-station.

With the governor slain, and with the local defense force in disarray, the Helghast decide to take a rather brash step towards installing order; The deployment of the infamous Colonel Radec. Of course, he wouldn't actually be on the planet, as he was far too valuable of a tactician to throw into the firing line, but he would oversee the hunting down and elimination of the assassin and any of those who may have aided him in his scheme. To start with Radec ordered that a strict curfew be put in place between the hours of 7PM and 9AM, anyone found outdoors during said time was to be rounded up and shot, their corpses to be left as a warning to those who show disobedience. He also ordered the installation of a vast security camera network, so that the people would be under a watchful eye 24/7. He'd learned from the previous governor's mistakes, by deploying drones to patrol the skies and keep an eye out for wanna-be snipers..

Corzirk was dry and arid as usual. Everyone of the Krah was happy, as usual. They appeared to be peaceful, completely unaware of the events around them.
The Krah would soon find out, however, as they were beginning to build their very first space ship. They were very weak in terms of tech, besides flight terms.
Everyone was celebrating, as this would be the first time anyone would be surfacing AND leaving the surface at the same time. The Krah were celebrating using their native music, which was very loud and obnoxious to most other animals that were not sentient. The Queen was in her chambers, discussing various things with her council via the Hive Mind. Everything was nice. The Krah still thought that they were alone in the Galaxy, and their universe ended with the Galaxy. And so, their journey begins...

Helghast Outpost
A lone Helghast guard stood at the gate of a Helghast outpost somewhere in the jungles of Ire prime. He heard a noise, and walked towards it, rifle raised, as he got to the noise, which sounded like birds chirping, a figure appeared behind him, and turned him around and stabbed him in the throat. The guards on the watchtowers where then shot, a Ire jumped over the wall, and began to fire at any Helghast they could find. One Helghast went for the alarm, and pressed it, only to find it not working. The wire had been cut, he keep pressing the button, until a bullet went into his skull.The Ire kicked down the door to the inside of the outpost,and cut their way through the Helghast soldiers inside, not caring if they where surrendering or not.

They found the Outpost commander, and took him prisoner, while other Ire broke through to the armory, and took Helghast weapons.This was going on all over the world, with the rebels hoping to get weapons for their cause.
