Natural Defenses/Abilities: Highly adaptive ability for the species to evolve to almost and obstacle. So they evolve, not adapt? Evolution implies having many (say 10 000) children, shoving them all into a gas chamber, watching the one survivor stagger out, have the survivor have children, and then shoving said children into a gas chamber again all the while adding more genetic mutations by some means, say radiation, that usually kills someone rather than gives anything beneficial. Adaptation is when we turn our wood axe into a butchering axe, or fatten up for a colder environment.
Unnatural abilities: Species seems to contain a hive mind, as they have no means of communication to any other species. Besides killing.
Species-wide hive mind? While they make for cool scary dogmatic evil xenocidable alien enemies, they are pretty much impossible to RP beyond a rather stupid level. Also, how does this hive mind work? Stereotypical psionics? Cool IRL pheromone communication and control like ants? Swarm or collective ground up intelligence like ants, bees and assorted other things? Instantanious or with a delay? Personally, I recommend the latter because it opens up the possibility of mind splitting, mind melding and so forth, allowing for individual entities to be RPed with. Also, while the xenocidal card is good for a stereotypical stupid sci-fi slayable enemy, and Argentine ants are xenocidal, with the invasive argentines having a gigantic global megacolony (that's currently only challenged by fire ants, crazy ants and two other argentine ant supercolonies), it really hurts the storytelling and cooperation aspect that is almost all of RP.
Respiratory Gas: N/A(Possible that some would gain the ability) How does it sustain the chemical processes that are life then? What does the food they eat burn with for energy? It isn't as much of an ability as a necessity...
Base composite Element: Carbon

Base Form and Ethnic Variations: The base form of a Vresh starts out as an egg, and a small creature adapted solely for the purpose of finding a host and inserting it's embryo. After that, the Horde's creatures vary on what their host was or what adaptations they have. Hmmm... Parasitic hivemind like the Gouald of Star Gate (I think)? What happens if their hosts develop immunities to them by means of evolution? Also, doesn't this contradict the xenocidal paradigm? How do they communicate with the greater mind?

Life Span: Varying; 12 hours to years(No documents exist of one dying of old age, yet) So the species isn't smart enough to record and measure itself? Just saying...
Reproduction: Parasitic, unable to reproduce without other species. Can reproduce extremely fast in presence of ample hosts and a queen. I'm assuming a eusocial structure here, but eusociality generally contradicts the whole parasitic spectrum. IRL, what good are the 'workers' if they can't even get back into the goddamn hive? Also, what pushes them into the eusocial card if they don't need to be clustered together? Genetic modification? By whom?
Intelligence Level:A single Vresh does not show intelligence beyond killing or hunting. A hive mind is apparent, that is of much higher intelligence. Hmmm... No building nests? No feeding friendlies? No leading others to better nest sites? No collective defense and fortification against enemy attacks? No enslaving enemy hives? No grand scale military strategy? These are all things that even ants have...
Traits/Behavior/Disposition: Aggressive towards anything that isn't Vresh, high protection of the Queen, a slightly less aggression towards Vortukians. Anything else is either killed, or drug back to the hive become a host. Why a lesser aggression to Vortukians? Does this aggression extend to plants and fungi? It'd be funny if it did. Does the queen have centralized power, actual rule, or is it like the colony regeneration slave/just the reproductive part like IRL eusocial things? Ok, some IRL eusocial things do have police state/queen rules all (damn you European honeybees and bees in general!) but IRL eusociality can get from enforced police state to cell in a larger organism mode (I mean, your cells usually don't rebel, and when they do in a defect called cancer, it is brutally put down quickly or otherwise it kills the organism.)

Okay Dolm, I have to ask after seeing that, what about me?

Species Name: Blood-Folk

Appearance: The Blood-Folk are a rather odd race, near human in appearance, but completely unrelated. On the surface, they appear human, except for their more angular, and sharp faces. Their skin is usually a near golden tan, with blood red eyes to match them, another influence on their name. Their mouth is full of sharp, serrated teeth they can easily grow back, hints a a carnivorous nature, though they do in fact eat plants and nuts, they do prefer meat. Very few members of the race have hair thats not on their heads, or facial hair. They tend to wear their hair long, and the most common color is a black, or dark brown. Their ears are also slightly tapered, but this is rarely able to be seen through their long hair.

Biology and anatomy: Unlike most “standard” races, the sex a Blood-Folk is born with does not matter, the race can change sex quite easily, now at will thanks to medical trickery. The race was born with the ability to change sex when a member of the opposite sex aren't present. Using a trick they discovered later on regarding pheromones unique to each sex, someone can be any sex they want by tricking their body into thinking there’s none of the sex they wish to be, thus tricking it into changing to that sex. They are called The Blood-Folk because of a talent the race has, they can enter states of adrenaline rushes that make them terrifying in combat when they ingest blood, namely blood containing hemoglobin, though other varieties have varying effects. When in the blood rages that earned them their names, they are remarkably hard to kill, their bones become hard enough to survive barrages from most standard small arms for short periods, but heavier weapons, specifically armor piercing ones, have only a slightly reduced effect on them. Blood loss and pain rarely affect them in this state. The blood rage lasts longer when more blood is ingested, a constant source can keep them in this state for days before their bodies give in. Depending on the time, muscles will be torn, organs damaged, and bones even splintered from the pressure put on them in this state, though they are quick to heal when proper supplements are provided. Copper based blood dulls their sense, and pacifies them, nickel accelerates growth, increasing speed, strength, and intellect of the subject, but cuts their lifespan by 60-75%. Zinc based blood is a hallucinogenic that eats away at the drinkers bone marrow. Silver based blood is the last known blood the species has ingested, it slows the aging process down by upwards of 15%, increasing lifespan, but dulls the mind and atrophies muscles. Have about 20% more bones than humans.

Respiratory Gas: Oxygen, Nitrogen (In that order, they can survive so long as breathable amounts of one are in the atmosphere, but function best when both are present)

Well, I can explain the one if Vor was here. In the IC, Vortukians were to discover the Vresh and research on them, try to contain them and even experiment on them. They are called The Blood-Folk because of a talent the race has, they can enter states of adrenaline rushes that make them terrifying in combat when they ingest blood, namely blood containing hemoglobin, though other varieties have varying effects. When in the blood rages that earned them their names, they are remarkably hard to kill, their bones become hard enough to survive barrages from most standard small arms for short periods, but heavier weapons, specifically armor piercing ones, have only a slightly reduced effect on them. Blood loss and pain rarely affect them in this state. The blood rage lasts longer when more blood is ingested, a constant source can keep them in this state for days before their bodies give in. Depending on the time, muscles will be torn, organs damaged, and bones even splintered from the pressure put on them in this state, though they are quick to heal when proper supplements are provided. Copper based blood dulls their sense, and pacifies them, nickel accelerates growth, increasing speed, strength, and intellect of the subject, but cuts their lifespan by 60-75%. Zinc based blood is a hallucinogenic that eats away at the drinkers bone marrow. Silver based blood is the last known blood the species has ingested, it slows the aging process down by upwards of 15%, increasing lifespan, but dulls the mind and atrophies muscles. Have about 20% more bones than humans. I can see them draining their own blood and banking it on a daily basis for when they have to inject it into themselves again- at least gangs, criminals, police and whatnot would. IRL, we humans have a similar thing happening, and its commonly used to cheat in sports. It gives us an extra amount of oxygenated blood which means we have enhanced most things for at least a while. It's one of the frustrating forms of cheating, since its your own blood and thus really difficult to detect lol. Anyways, how is it that their body can use so many different blood forms? Have animals in their native planet evolved many different types,, and if so then why? Is this some type of cool gene mod? Otherwise, it's really difficult to critique your app Durm- you made yours rather good.

Unnatural abilities: Enhanced Healing This may be a product of me not exactly knowing why an ability is unnatural or not, but why is enhanced healing unnatural?

Respiratory Gas: Oxygen, Nitrogen (In that order, they can survive so long as breathable amounts of one are in the atmosphere, but function best when both are present) Interesting... why do they need both? Oxygen is good at burning, but what's the nitrogen for? Just a thought.

Species Name: Vresh
Appearance: (Image) With relation to a human. Just one variation of a Vresh.
Biology and anatomy:For the most part, a member of the Horde has an exoskeleton, but there is no specific biology or anatomy for a species that has such a variance. Variation is acquired through the host species. The species giving life to the Vresh embryo donates traits to the Vresh when born. Size and sophistication of a Vresh is proportional to the host. Therefore, a Vresh borne from a cat is not going to be as high up in the chain or as large as a Vresh born from a human. Almost everything is variable, color, limb number, size, etc. New adaptations can be gained due to the Hive Queen's desires or perceived needs. The Queen can have some ability over determining this, though it takes time.
Height: Anywhere from 8 inches to 15 feet. Smaller Vresh are usually the emrbyos or the workers, while the larger Vresh take on more and more hardened roles of combat and destruction.
Weight: Anywhere from one pound to one ton.
Relative survivability: As a species, 10/10, as a single creature, as low as 1/10. The Species can survive as it is always adapting and always reproducing. However, if all the Queens and eggs were to be destroyed, then a single Vresh would lose all direction and sense, it would become erratic and unpredictable in behavior, or ti could even just drop dead from the shock.
Natural Defenses/Abilities: Highly adaptive ability for the species to change and overcome most obstacles
Unnatural abilities: Species seems to contain a hive mind, as they have no means of communication to any other species. All Vresh have a link, or an extension to the Hive Queen's mind. A single Vresh is mainly just a puppet with which the Hive Queen controls it. queens that control hives that are not the Hive Queen have some control over themselves, and merely act as a node for the Hive Queen's mind to be sent through the the local hive. It is possible to break this link by surgery to remove the supposed node or placement in a specialized isolation chamber. The Vresh would most likely die due to this, but it is thought that all Vresh have a mind, but that it is subjugated to the Hive Queen's stronger will.
Respiratory Gas: Oxygen. This can be changed to a gas on a planet that contains no oxygen. It is also able for Vresh to survive in space without respiration, though those variations will shortly die or go into a stasis.
Base composite Element: Carbon

Base Form and Ethnic Variations: The base form of a Vresh starts out as an egg, and a small creature adapted solely for the purpose of finding a host and inserting it's embryo. The embryo will then siphon the life and nutrients off the host to grow, while inheriting some genes from the host. The host will die and the Vresh eats its way out of the carcass. Based on this, there is no true diversity in Vresh life, as all Vresh are borne from different species. The one ethnic variation are "noble" breeds, which the Hive Queen lays. these eggs are larger and bear a "noble" egg-layer which will ultimately produce a breed that has a purpose, such as a new queen for a local hive or another specialized role.

Life Span: Varying per breed; 12 hours to centuries(The Hivemind goes by ages, in which case, the Hive Queen is 2 ages old, though this is irrelevant to any species going by years, since there is yest no translation from an age to a year.)
Reproduction: Only queens lay eggs. However, for Vresh to mature and grow, hosts are needed for embryos to incubate in and life off of. Reproduction is fast when ample hosts are nearby and food is plenty. Thus, if a hive were to live near a town, half the town would be eaten, and the other half "farmed"
Intelligence Level:Vresh are directed by the Hivemind. Directed by this, Vresh warriors kill and capture hosts while Vresh workers build and expand the hives and tend to the eggs. Vresh scouts sees new wrolds and potential hives locations for the Hivemind and Vresh queens lay eggs and direct the lesser Vresh to do the Hive Queen's bidding.
Traits/Behavior/Disposition: Highly aggressive towards about anything the Hivemind deems a threat. If not deemed a threat, but deemed food or host, then it is eaten or taken back to a hive to become a host. Only Vortukians are somewhat safe when near Vresh, as the Hivemind has learned the Vortukians save the Vresh and offer them things. However, a single Vortukian walking through a hive would be killed or hosted.

Aggression: 10 to anything that moves, -10 to other Vresh, 5 to Vortukians(Hivemind deems them the Caregivers)

Homeworld Status: Sylax, the homeworld of the Vresh, is the site of Vresh creation, when the Hive Queen came to be. She is there, ruling all Vresh in the Universe. Nearly all of Sylax was barren, assumed to have been bombarded by a fleet ages ago, destroying all life except the underground hive, which housed coutless eggs, and the Hive Queen, who was dormant, awaiting a new arrival, which was when the Vortukians arrived to Sylax.
Notable locations and such:The Great Expanse: A barren, nearly inhospitable area covering 65% of Sylax's surface, the other 45% is lifeless water. Through research, it appears microbes, bacteria, and small fungus and molds are coming back in the Expanse. The Hive: The hive Queen's underground hive, which survived the ancient orbital bombardment. This can be seen as the Vresh seat of power, and it is where the Vortukians and the Vresh made first contact.

Society and Cultural information: Society is based around the Hivemind's desires, which are mostly the Queen's quest to expand the Vresh Hivemind to every corner of the Universe. This achievement will be met by any and all means necessary, no matter how many Vresh sacrifice themselves to the task.
Languages No form of verbal or written communication with other species, as Vresh don't really necessitate a need for language or translation. It can be assumed a telepath of notable power may attempt to communicate with the Hivemind....
Economy: A more or less communist society, which allocates all needed resources to all in need. Vresh do not starve, unless there is no food left to feed them. Currency is a concept unknown to the Vresh, which are provided for by the Hivemind. The Vresh distribute all resources gained evenly throughout the local hive. No instance has ocme up where one local hive was in need and was assisted by another local hive. This may happen is travel between local hives were possible(Local Hives refer to hives on different planets, a local hive is essentially a colony)
Industry: Creation of new breeds through genetic adoption from host species. Creation of new ideas by Engineers For Vortukians, creation of cheap, dependable army to use in warfare.
Strengths: Survivability, large numbers, Ferocity, Adaptivity, willingness to sacrifice large amount of Vresh to achieve a goal.
Weaknesses: Small numbers, near-inability to think by oneself, dependence on Hivemind.

Sidenote: A lot of the workings of the Hivemind, I could explain in a page thesis to you, or I can work it our in the RP, and you could see how it worked.

Basically the Hivemind is the Hive Queen, the mother of the Vresh, who's mind controls all other Vresh. those Vresh have their own minds, but those minds are basically dorwned out by the Hivemind. Distance does play a role in this, which I will be getting to. Soem special Vresh, like the nobles, local queens and Engineers and such, have developed to not be controlled as much, this allows them more autonomous thought. For them, the Hivemind would be like taking orders from a commanding officer instead of actually being controlled by the Hivemind. This is why the Engineers can think on creating things and development, and the local queens can battle and somewhat control their hive.

On top of this, without any Hivemind whatsoever, Vresh become very erratic, or they just lose their will and die. Most Vresh cannot survive without this controlling factor, even the semi-independent ones, it would be like losing your mom, dad, role model, god, and your inner thought voice all in one. Some Vresh have a little tiny self-mind capable or surviving this devastation, though with obvious issues.

The Hivemind also has a distance issue, the further away a Vresh is from the homeworld where the Hive Queen is, the less influence given, the more absent they are. This is a problem for the weaker, smaller Vresh. The more independent ones it doesn't both much, for a while. This is where local queens come in. The not only act as the hive re-populators and commanders, but they also act as a receiver and amplifier of the Hivemind, giving the local hive Vresh the will of the Hivemind. now, with this, th eVresh can be controlled by the Hive Queen, and to a degree the local queen. Sort of how a soldier is commanded by his general and his platoon's lieutenant.

And... that's basically a quick description of the Hive's workings in a nutshell. :)

Using a trick they discovered later on regarding pheromones unique to each sex, someone can be any sex they want by tricking their body into thinking there’s none of the sex they wish to be, thus tricking it into changing to that sex. They are called The Blood-Folk because of a talent the race has, they can enter states of adrenaline rushes that make them terrifying in combat when they ingest blood, namely blood containing hemoglobin, though other varieties have varying effects. When in the blood rages that earned them their names, they are remarkably hard to kill, their bones become hard enough to survive barrages from most standard small arms for short periods, but heavier weapons, specifically armor piercing ones, have only a slightly reduced effect on them. Blood loss and pain rarely affect them in this state. The blood rage lasts longer when more blood is ingested, a constant source can keep them in this state for days before their bodies give in. Depending on the time, muscles will be torn, organs damaged, and bones even splintered from the pressure put on them in this state, though they are quick to heal when proper supplements are provided. Copper based blood dulls their sense, and pacifies them, nickel accelerates growth, increasing speed, strength, and intellect of the subject, but cuts their lifespan by 60-75%. Zinc based blood is a hallucinogenic that eats away at the drinkers bone marrow. Silver based blood is the last known blood the species has ingested, it slows the aging process down by upwards of 15%, increasing lifespan, but dulls the mind and atrophies muscles. Have about 20% more bones than humans. I can see them draining their own blood and banking it on a daily basis for when they have to inject it into themselves again- at least gangs, criminals, police and whatnot would. IRL, we humans have a similar thing happening, and its commonly used to cheat in sports. It gives us an extra amount of oxygenated blood which means we have enhanced most things for at least a while. It's one of the frustrating forms of cheating, since its your own blood and thus really difficult to detect lol. Anyways, how is it that their body can use so many different blood forms? Have animals in their native planet evolved many different types,, and if so then why? Is this some type of cool gene mod? Otherwise, it's really difficult to critique your app Durm- you made yours rather good.

Somehow I just noticed I didn't describe their short, sharp claws, perfect for shallow wounds that bleed a lot <-<'

Blood: Its how their body reacts to digesting the cells that utilize such thing, why, they don't exactly know. Their home system hold all four known, and they have yet to taste any others.

Enhanced Healing: Kinda both really, its using chemicals, and nanotechnology to exploit and expand the ability to regenerate teeth.

As for Oxygen/Nitrogen: For the longest time both nitrogen and oxygen were very low in the atmosphere, so many species adapted to use both to make up for it, the extra energy it provides proved to remain beneficial even after their levels rose.

Twins: The female sex commonly has two ready-to-be fertilized eggs at once. Why? *shrugs*

Paranoia: That's a bit of a typo on my part, they heavily distrust other groups, which actually meant it took a loooooong time for them to reach the city-state stage, only being forced together united them enough to kick start technological and cultural evolution.

Races: Other species. Blood-Folk used to be much more peaceful (despite the paranoia, it was simply because they avoided everyone else) so they came to be seen as meek, causing other species to attack. This eventually instilled a deep-rooted distrust of any non-Blood-Folk. This actually carries on now considering an attempt at genocide against them from a entirely foreign race.

Jobs: That's within their society, its mostly due to not many Blood-Folk are willing to get that close to another race without weapons, which tends to impede diplomacy.

Characters: Some have already appeared IC

Culture: Its because groups of people that don't fit in well in the general culture of their current planet will flock to new colonies, usually in large groups, causing them to be the new dominant culture for there. I did this mostly so I could have a wide range of cultures and variables therein.

TITAN: You'll have to wait and see, but hint: One of the T's is Terraforming.

Foreign policy: Neither really, its more. Come on in, just don't power your weapons. They contact many (NPCs currently), but its mainly for trade. They do have other forms of contact, but trade, and economic stuff dominates.

Military: Only thing that's still heavily WIP, needless to say, its already rather big, and I prefer to reveal things that only the other nation would know unless its needed.

Hey guys, i was thinking, i would have Reichian Terrorists intervene on a meeting with the UGSR Leader & Premier Richtofen & USJR's Leader, and the Lead Terrorist would demand the pass codes to FTL WMD's that can travel through FTL and when the reach a Planet or its designated target, it would head towards its Object in extremely fast speeds, maybe when the codes are successfully imputed by the Terrorists, they would target a random but major target from any nation, but they would soon be stopped before the Missile impacts its target.

Biology and anatomy: A Gnome is a short humanoid. They tend to be around three and a half feet tall and unnervingly slender. Compared to their bodies they have surprising toughness, as their bones are of a harder but lighter cast than those of humans. Their coloration, like their aging, is altered by experience. Their skin, hair, and eyes can run the gamut of colors that appear in nature, betraying their fey nature like no other characteristic. Many, though not all, have skin tones that match those of other humanoids who live in the region, often with tints of olive or gold. Their hair is often vibrantly colored; expressing their recent history and experiences in reds, greens and more, as often, if not more so than browns and blonds. Their child-like eyes can often cause other humanoids to be more trusting and protective of gnomes, though many find these traits along with the too-wide mouths and smiles of gnomish race to be alien and frightening. It’s basically like they all have adhd or they are drinking 8 cups of coffee brewed with redbull a day

Government Type: the government is one big corporation that works like a regular corporation yet the ceo/president/supreme leader position is usually handed down through family lineage but if the successor is deemed inadequate than they vote on who will lead next
Population: 36 million

Home World/Capital: Schön (German for beautiful) home world/ Heimatstadt (home city in German) capital of the gnomes located on home world
Capital Status: is the heavily fortified and defended capital and banks of the company/country that is the EITCo. It also is completely self-sustainable if need be
Notable locations and such: “golden haupt” (golden home in German) main bank that houses all the riches of the EITCo. In secrete vaults. “Rollen Blumen” ("rolling flowers" in German) surrounding the outside of the city walls are thick fields of colorful flowers on rolling hills that stretch for miles. “Blume Laufwerk Hof” (flower drive yards in german) the original starship building drive yards of the gnomes a giant ring in orbit surrounding

Hmmm... I need to get a second storyline up other than the one between me and Imp. Toishima, Adel or Durm- do you have any room for a second story? You guys would be my top choices.

If not, anyone else want to volunteer? In any case, we'll have to come up with some kind of premise together first. I think that some other nation stumbling upon me or disputing my control over X system or having one of their people enter my nation would be best, since I've already gone the exploration ship route with Imp.

Edit: And Imp, we need to get the plotball moving forward on our little story... we have my people being complete strangers, what will we complicate their little issue further? Human rights activists? Gangsters? Getting off the tour bus some time later and promptly getting lost? :D
