My only problem with the above "civilian cartographer", they aren't really civilian (paranoid species here), they always have at least a small military escort and soldiers on the ship. If we're looking there, we're probably looking for new planets to colonize, so its going to be 10-20 ships, not counting the cartographer. No doubt I'd lose, but lone civilian ships themselves are very rare, let alone unarmed.

Yes that would be perfect, with fleet battles. Your species are not human, are they? If they are, then there is a very small chance we may be able to have some kind of relations. Also, of course you will lose the battle. Despite it sounding very godmoddy, I need it to be this way to set the tone of what I shall name the "Toishima Crisis Arc". Also your people (nobody, really) should not know Toishima's name until a more outgoing human member of the galaxy can share it.

They appear human at a very superficial level, a closer inspection reveals the sharper faces, sharp teeth, red eyes, adn tapered ears. In reality, they aren't even a distant cousin of humans.

I do not know if this is an insult to the Japanese people; you will be insulting at least half of my family then. Do remember that, while Toishima does kill billions of aliens a year, Toishima is not Japan at all. So do not equate them together.

Nothing much to say, just another generic CCCP-based Communist Space Empire. Not much experience running communist nations, so I can't really say much beyond a word of advice: Don't focus all your RP efforts on warfare. Try to RP civilian lives as well.

Boredom is not a cause for declarations of war, as I have learned painfully. War roleplays of a high quality take a long time to put together and usually do not end once your boredom does, leaving you with no motivation to carry on a battle you may not have wanted had you thought it through carefully.

I have already stated why. In such a messy thread as the current RP thread, there are probably three different storylines going on at the same time. You already have your diplomatic summit to concentrate on. A war with my forces will be a terrible distraction, and would probably muddle the waters even more.
