The Cerberus Organization wrote:As the men continued toward the Tear, the storm gre worse. A car was lifted from the ground, and slammed into side a building a few feet from them. "How the hell are we supposed to get through the storm?" said one of the men behind him, "There's no way we can get through that, the storm will rip us apart!" "I don't know!" Dawson replied. "We'll set up shelter nearby and see if we can uncover anything useful about the Tear." They filed into a nearby building and set up defensive positions in the windows. They set up a radio transmitter to try and contact headquarters for information. Maybe they could uncover something about the Tear.

The building groaned and shuddered as it was battered by the winds. Slowly, it was collapsing; bricks would fall off it's facade from now and again, bit's of it's skeleton would break, and it would slowly worsen in condition. Fires had already ravaged parts of it, and the Tear would finish it off. This close, nothing was permanent, all there was the moment before, the next it was no longer.

Just as well, the strongest transmitter they had would get them only a weak signal, the storm was worse than the worst hurricane in human history by miles, it was the best they would receive. So close to the heart, the Tear was visible through the walls of dust and debris as a light almost as bright as sunlight, if fully unveiled. A massive, dark shape occasionally circled the light, casting it's shadow for all to see. The terrible roar of a great many screaming nightmares pushing for passage through the relatively small rip was constant, with undulated screams of the many human souls being sucked into the Tear itself. Dark, shadow-like beings appeared in and out of reality in the area, stalking for souls to catch before they fell into oblivion.

The same demonic creatures that had swarmed them earlier were in abundance just as well, freshly spawned, they swept by consistently, heading in any direction away from the Tear

The noises of a faint human male responded, blocked by interference which soon overrode the radio waves at it's first opportunity, a terrible being with many thousands of painful voices.

"such such such SUCH DELIGHTFUL TOYS toys toys toys to to TO RIP THE MINDS mind minds minds and and AND SHEER THE FLESH flesh flesh with with with WITH GREATEST OF PLEASURES pleasures pleasures submit submit submit SUBMIT TO THE BURNING LIGHT"

The radio cut out, turning to a violent blur of loud static and intermittent screams. Suddenly, a massive gust tore through the neighborhood, the building seemed to groan and tremble, as debris rained down on the surrounding area. The ground quaked and shook, a loud roar flooding outward from the eye. The modestly visible light flared to a far brighter degree. The noses of many of them would bleed, and severe headaches would plague them.

The dark shadows which had otherwise been benign appeared in the very room they were in, standing silently. The winds roared several more times, and the building began to give way, cracking crumbling of the the ceiling and walls defining this. The ceiling began to fall down upon their heads. Silent whispers inhabited the room, they were spotted now, and all which could stand such proximity to the atmosphere around the warp would come pouring in to slowly siphon the very life essence from them.

Every direction they turned, the entities were there, watching, feasting, ubiquitous in their nature, once they had you, escape was no longer a concept of your reality. Your existence was now to feed them, and feed they would. Winds soared, and the building's entire upper level was torn apart and strewn across the road, bricks and concrete mixed with glass and furniture poured down onto the ground. The force would have also knocked them to the ground with force, the dark shadow appearing once more.

The psychokinetic members through up a forcefield to ward of the shadowy creatures, hoping to seperate them from the men.

Of the very nature these sad humans wielded, they lashed back with a powerful torrent of force, snapping bones and armor of the psychokinetics. The sounds of horrific shrieks echoed about the minds of the men, as they swallowed massive chunks of energy from them. A sudden feeling of tiredness was clear signal of this, with each passing moment, more and more vanished - they had come to the frontlines of a great battle. Fire swept through the skies, and more dark figures came with them, appearing only briefly as they moved along their ways towards the edge of the storm. Another town was rapidly becoming endangered by the threat of utter destruction, they would be among the first to arrive.

The eye seemed to bulge, rings of lightning screaming around it. The ground quaked and began to give way, compressing and destructing by the sheer force. This would come as a saving grace to the men, as the force which would suddenly force them to the floor dispelled the entities. Buildings were crushed, cars were flung, the Tear was about to enter a new phase.

The raging storm picked up further, the ground slowly beginning to disintegrate, they themselves would find it hard to hold on to anything at all. A monstrous roar echoed through the void regions of lethal atmosphere, where all reality was falling apart. Suddenly, from the surrounding darkness, a titanic beast swooped in, grabbing five men at once with a series of whip-like limbs that reeled them into a black hole of gore and death. they lasted not even seconds. The beast was almost dragon-like in nature, but far less corporeal. Eight enormous wings seemed to simply phase through one another, propelling the giant through the skies. It's head possessed a maw of seemingly endless spirals of teeth that stretched down it's elongated neck. Lacking eyes, it relied on otherworldly forms of vision, hunting prey by the energies they held within. It let out a booming screech as it disappeared into the storm, it's unending tail whipping around and lashing wildly, a trail of lightning following after it.

With the first of many things to come unleashed, there was little a team of foot-bound soldiers could do. The Tear was beyond their understanding, few would even be able to suggest a method of sealing. All of this was to be added upon the campaign necessary to eradicate all of the creatures which had infested this rather unholy territory, forsaken by all but the laws of nature, and it, too, was in rapid retreat.

(Excessive sums of either extreme psychokinetic disruption, or focussed energy unto the eye of the storm from an outside source)

The creature swooped in once more, it's tentacles grabbing another two, the rest that missed lashing at the ground, creating large trenches. Huge chunks of debris now were flung through the storm, standing was a great feat on its own, let alone staying upright for an extended period of time.

This was the hell that consumed cities, planets, solar systems, galaxies, that crippled humanity at even it's greatest point. It was their foolish nature of underestimation that led to their destruction once before, and it would seem to be their undoing a second time.

The teams remaining psychokinetics began to concentrate on the Tear, willing it to close. The amount of focus required to do this was immense, and they may not survive the process. They knew this, but continued. They were more than willing to give their lives at this point, knowing that it would be for the greater good. If they survived or not, one thing was certain- the fate of humanity rest on their shoulders.

The combined forces were nowhere near powerful enough to shut the Tear outright, but provided the necessary push to destabilize it. Of course, to this, there were consequences. The borders of the Tear flickered and shuddered, unable to maintain composure any longer. In turn, the focus the psychokinetic placed upon the Tear bound them to it. A great sacrifice indeed, their souls were torn from them as their minds were seized by waves of chaotic mental force. All of them would have dropped dead instantly, as their screams would be briefly heard before they were sucked into the other side to be consumed.

They served valiantly, and their deaths were not in vain. The eye glowed a brilliant purple, then a dying red. The winds of the storm began to slow, the Tear swelling into a smaller, orb-like shape. The storm seemed to become even more violent, winds rapidly picking up well into the 600s directly around the Tear in a gargantuan tornado that drove the spinning wheel of clouds and fire around it. The men were dragged across the bare ground like rags. The immense horror that had snatched a handful of the agents was trapped by the vortex, ripped apart in a maelstrom of raw energy.

In the final stages of the Tear's existence, the spinning funnel caught flame, becoming a literal pillar of spinning fire and plasma. Moments later, it imploded, and the spinning eye was left without a source. Though still quite violent, the storm would eventually come to a slow, and dissipate. The after effects of all of this were yet to be seen, but the invasion of hell upon Earth had been halted, for now. The men would have been badly broken, some dead, others on the very edge, but they had done it, by some obscure chance. Lightning shrieked across the skies as it always had, and the distant howls of arcane creatures could still be heard, but they all die in the naked sunlight which would eventually pierce the heavy clouds.

Around them, a barren wasteland of dirt and broken debris. The town was gone, for the most parts, distant remnants of only the strongest foundations remained, crushed and broken by the abrasive power. In the very center, where all of this had come from, a simmering pool of molten earth was all that remained, ominous moans flowing outwards of it like a cold breeze, shimmers of sunlight just barely making it through the ceiling of the storm. All was coming to a gentle slow, disorientated and lost, the nightmares would fade away in time.

In his last moments of awareness, Dawson activated his emergency beacon. As the blue light on the device blinked endlessly, Dawson blacked out.

***

Dawson awoke in the Medical Wing of Organization Facility A-334. One of the doctors noticed him waking up, and rushed over to check on him. He tried standing, but was unable to. "Doctor....the Tear.....still open...." "What?" the doctor said, confused. "We need...close....the Tear...." "Get the Facility supervisor!" the doctor said to one of the passing medical staff. The assistant ran off to get the supervisor.

Sitting in his office, the facility's chief supervisor Claude Einhart was more than perturbed by the unannounced entrance of otherwise low-ranking personnel, of course, he was willing to let the man's transgressions go as he learned the reason for his entrance. He hurriedly followed him back to the medical wing, where he entered the room Dawson was located. He gave generic smile, all but lacking in sincerity. He didn't have any serious care for the man, only his knowledge, his experience. They could certainly use it.

"Agent dawson, it's excellent to see you are still with us... I must apologize, about your men.." He said, strolling to the side of the bed, taking a seat carefully.

"Nonsense, we scouted the area, the former location of the anomaly is nothing but a wasteland. However, before we get ahead of ourselves, I'm going to need you to sign this..." He said, handing him a clipboard with a document attached. It was a series of seemingly endless words of complex nature, but of them all, a particular line would stand out amongst the otherwise indecipherable wall of legal text.

"...and that said individual is in full agreement of their ignorance to any and all other individuals of the ordeal, to be in a state of complete acknowledgment of these terms, and will under no circumstances refute any of the previous statements which said individual has agreed to. Should said individual contradict any of the above statements, they, in that specific moment, consign their human rights to the organization, and accept the possibility of termination at any given time hence."

Dawson grabbed the supervisor by the collar of his shirt. "Goddammit, you didn't fucking see what I saw out there! The Tear is still open! If you don't listen to me and close it, you're putting the lives of everyone in the world in danger!" When the doctor came over to restrain Dawson, he punched the doctor in the face, sending in tumbling to the floor.

The supervisor stepped back, slowly and meticulously looking over Dawson. He smiled, slightly, chuckling to himself.

"Agent, I may not have seen what you have seen, but I have seen what such things are capable of. I must thank you for your efforts, but your concerns are invalid. We have it all under control, we just needed someone to... pacify... the storm. Now, would you kind?" He said, extending the document out to him. His other arm reached around to his hip, presumably to a gun. Dawson was without armor or a weapon, and still in a rather broken condition. he was in no position for a fight.

Dawson backed down, knowing he was in no condition to fight. "Fuck you," Dawson said to himself quietly. Without any help, the Tear would grow in strength again and unleash even more abominations into the world. He needed to find someone who would listen to him, and fast.
Dawson didn't see the man just outside his room, who had heard the entire conversation. Westfield couldn't believe that the supervisor would ignore what was right in front of him. He too had saw the horrors of the Tear. He wasn't about to let this happen. He slipped away, heading straight for the only person he knew who could help him out with this.

***

He reached the prison wing of the Facility. The prison wing was a panopticon-style room, which was about 10 levels of prison cells, and ran even deeper underground. It took a while for Westfield to reach his intended cell. The walls of the cell were bare, except for a shelf containing several books and stationary materials. The man inside was an old man, sitting at a small table, books stacked all around him. He was reading one of them, and occasionally taking notes. He looked up at the sound of Westfields approach. "Who is- Ah! Westfield, old friend! It is good to see you haven't forgot about me." A smile appeared on his old face. He stood up from the table, and moved toward the glass. "What can I do for you today?" "I need some information about something", Westfield said. "Don't we all?" the old man replied. He chuckled a little at the joke. "What do you need to know?" "I need some information about something called the 'Tear'. Do you have anything about it?" "Well, I could certainly try," the old man replied. "Come check with me soon, and I'll see what I can find." "Ok," Westfield said. He left, and would return soon to see what the old man could find

The Tear. A Tear. A small Tear. A rip between two universes, once the same, but no longer. It was not alone, there were many, millions upon billions, all dormant and spread across the universe, waiting for their chance to burst into this reality in full, and flower forth the face of destruction. They spanned not only galaxies, but dimensions, and infinite sea of realities, all of which having a chance, a single chance, of being inflicted with the nightmares of another.

As old as anything in this reality, they are but only slight, subtle points of weakness in the fabric of all which exists. These thin areas of corporeality could become anything; portals to any number of other dimensions, any, but just as well, they could become a Tear, and if gone far enough, a Rift. Where one thrives, others are forced open like a roaring tide of utter devastation. The small creatures which dawson had seen were the bacteria of greater terrors. Some powerful enough to tear planets apart and send solar systems into disarray, this was a force created not out of random occurrence, but humanity itself.

Of course, nobody could know of such things, those records were lost eons ago, this race of humankind was fortunate to be unexposed to the darkness which had slewn it's alternate brethren, or so it seemed. The Tear as suppressed, under observation of the organization's many eyes. It would not stay this way for long, and when it did reopen, it would return in such a degree that the earth would quake for thousands of miles at the sheer power flooding out onto their virgin earth, to pulverize humanity in one fell swoop. They wouldn't last even an hour. To eradicate this miniscule anomaly, one would either need a full force of powerful psychokinetics to slam the door shut, or simply bombard it's location with enough energy to light the skies for miles around with blinding light. One was an unfortunate sacrifice of many rare souls, the other quite difficult to ascertain with man's limited arsenal.

The old man looked up from his research. Westfield stood at the entrance to the cell. "Find anything?" He said. "I believe I have", the old man replied. He handed Westfield a few pages of notes. Westfield began to read them. "So, we need a massive amount of psychokinetic energy?" "Exactly. But such a massive amount of energy would require a large amount of psychokinetics." Westfield paused for a moment. "I think I know just the person." Westfield left in search of the most powerful psychokinetic in the world- Subject Alpha.

Far away and a long time from now, in that swirling galaxy of terror and fire, forces were gathering. Around the site where a Tear had opened between the two worlds. Fields of planetary debris were swept into the swirling tide of dark entities and titans that gathered from far and wide, battling over who would have rights to the first worlds claimed. The small, darkened light of the subdued Tear was encompassed by shapeless masses, Nightmarish material yet to take shape, comprised of millions upon millions of souls, screaming and crying with no way for anyone to hear their woes. Were it not for the distant core of the galaxy that was the Burning Light, all would be dark, an invisible dance of hatred and destruction that the titans of this realm performed as always around such focal points. With the chaos of each blow, the Tear was becoming stronger and stronger once more, soon ready to reopen its doors and allow these tyrants in, to bring forth a new definition of hell.
