This is the OOC thread for "Our Noble Traditions"
About the RP:
The roleplay is focused in the expansion of my nation "The Hissho" that takes part in an important moment of their history, during one of the many conflicts they are in. The Hissho discover a very ancient artifact built by a very ancient civilization known only as "The Endless". This artifact led them to become a huge empire of warriors, this is the time when they were just "Space Barbarians" pillaging and killing everything they saw in order to "have bigger axe than you".
After this artifact known as a "DNA manipulator" (Ironically the same artifact that The Endless created the Hissho at first) is found by the Hissho, they start re-creating their dna, their point of view of the universe changes after the huge and fast changes on their DNA. They are still fierce warriors, very traditional, and still aggressive. The difference is that they manage to become a stronger empire, and unify the four tribes that rule over the Hissho empire.
Your role can vary, from a faction that helps the Hissho to found their artifact, or another faction that is pursuing the artifact or whatever role you wish.
About The Endless and the artifact:
If you have played Endless Space you know what I'm talking about.
The Endless were an ancient civilization that (inside the RP universe) controlled most if not all of the galaxy, each planet was in possession of The Endless, hence their name. They reached the peak of Technological development, almost become gods, they had the power to control life as they pleased, to use the space-time fabric as their amusement toy. The galaxy was their playground.
Sometime during the history of The Endless, they reached a level of technological development so big, that living had lost it's reason, they were immortals. Virtually and Physically they could live forever if they wanted, thus after centuries of discussions two factions of The Endless appeared the Virtuals and the Concrete, these two factions were opposite, one thinking that living with their physical bodies was stupid because they have literally discovered everything, while the Concretes said that they haven't discovered everything and they wanted to keep pushing existence and discover more and more secrets.
Before the event known as The Great Schism The Endless created something called Dust, nano-robots that could do everything, to build buildings in a matter of hours, to work as ultra fast super computers and even extremely complex artificial intelligence, dust could be used to do everything you wanted...even as a weapon. After The Great Schism, the two factions of the Endless Entered into a War known as "The Dust Wars" a conflict that eventually...killed every single Endless.
But, their creations remained in the galaxy, their abandoned installations and data are still there, waiting for someone to find them, and use them to learn, to discover, to expand...to grow.
