The thing is it's hard to do a story when people generally want to make themselves seem like the best person in the world.
And It's far from over in fact we have some nice stuff going on so you quitting early is just you being a pessimist.
That is not at ALL what you do. You do not force players onto whatever you want. People lash harder against that. Its a natural response. We don't like being forced to do shit we don't want. Railroading others just flat out angers everyone. Especially when you justify hypocrisy and failure of your own duty as OP with it.
The duty of OP is to provide a scene and loose plot then let the players have fun while not winding up in number wank fests, like what your own abuses ended up breeding. Really, its just a circle-jerk to how great your imaginary nation is and fulfilling your own sci-fi movie. It isn't developed, there isn't character depth, history, progress. None of that.
Me quitting is me hitting my limit of dealing with bullshit.
