"Hmm. And why is that? Why not eat food if it tastes good? And how is it that you stay hydrated if you do not drink?"

"I said I was done answering questions. I have been lenient enough. I wish to return to my cell now." He clamped his mouth shut.

[Alexlantis]

"Alright, fair enough." The psychiatrist said. A soldier led Daniel back to his cell and closed the door. Shortly afterward, "dinner" was served.

[Unified Western States]

That night Daniel closed his eyes, but it wasn't "sleep", but in a regenerative coma state. In ended the next morning, when he emerged from the regenerative stance.

Sand Island

Mr. Tanner was grimacing as he watched the news reports flooding in from the world. None of it was in his favor. His forces had all been killed or captured, Allan and Diana were safe and Genesis, his main conduit for his plans was now in the hands of it's former competitor, Global BioTech. He shook his head and tapped the touch-screen display in front of him, turning the TV's off. He spun the chair around and faced the rest of the command room of the Sand Island base. It was tiered, with Mr. Tanner at the top and each tier with a row of computers and workers at those computers. Taking up the whole wall at the base and front of the room were massive computer screens, showing news reports, a map of the world, location of Genesis satellites and other pertinent information. Mr. Tanner stood up and pressed the com-button on his walkie-talkie.

"James, I'm going to the Tech-Lab for a bit. Your in charge while I'm gone."

"Yes sir."

Mr. Tanner stepped out of his chair and went to a high-speed elevator which whisked him down to a deep, underground facility. When he emerged, he was greeted by the chief computer expert for Genesis, Rolfe Thamer.

"Mr. Tanner, welcome. What can I do for you?"

"I've decided that if we can't beat them physically, we'll smack them down technologically."

"You mean?"

"Thats right. We're going to activate Andromeda."

Mr. Tanner started walking towards the command post, with Rolfe scurrying after him.

"Umm sir, Andromeda isn't quite ready yet. If we released it now, we might not be able to control it."

"I know. I don't want to control it, I want it to run rampant through their computer systems."

"But sir, if they can trace it back to us, the UWS can find us here."

"It doesn't matter. By the time they manage to trace us, which will be a while thanks to your security programs, Alexlantis will be a third world nation."

With that, Mr. Tanner marched into the control room and walked over to a command console.

"Activate it."

"Yes sir." Rolfe sat at the computer, then inserted a disk into it. A huge screen full of data began whizzing by.

"Alright. Targeting Alexlantis main internet data servers..... elliptical cross-cypher, standard stuff. Alright, targeting main internet routers......alright, its in. Just enter the pass-code and Andromeda will activate."

Mr. Tanner smiled as he entered the 34 digit code.

Inside the main Alexlantian server, the Andromeda virus awoke. It began to delete all public access files; email accounts, any online accounts. It then worked its way into the traffic systems and shut off traffic lights and draw-bridges. It then did its main thing and after deleting the files, hacked into the main internet server and destroyed the hardrive of any computer that was connected to the computer at the time of its activation. Mr. Tanner smiled as it systematically tore apart the Alexlantian computer grid. Pretty soon, Alexlantis would be, technologically, wiped off the map.

[Alexlantis]

"C'mon... loading...98... 99..." *plink* "What the fuck?! NO!" Allan said, jamming his thumb into the computer's on/off button. The computer was restarting, and then... *plink* "Fuuuuuuuuuuuck!" He checked the news. Nothing. His phone. Nothing. He couldn't even get anything on the radio. The only signal was his old HAM radio, which he hadn't used since he was eleven. Looking outside his house, the traffic lights were on all colors at once. Allan could hear Krissie's keyboard slam and break against the wall.
"ALLAN! WHAT THE FUCK DOD YOU DO?!"
"I didn't do it this time!"
"I'LL SKIN YOU ALIVE!"
"I DIDN'T DO IT!"

High Security POW Camp and Facility
The lights turned off, then back on. The security screens showed either the blue screen of death or static. Total and complete lock down was in place, the only communication left being old-fashioned radio, face to face, letters, and tin cans on a string.

Golden Point City
Mass panic ensued. Martial law was set in place and the following telegram was sent to the UWS:

Mr. Tanner couldn't have been happier. Andromeda was working. Running wild in the Alexlantian computer systems. But it wasn't over yet.

"When will it move to phase two?"

"About thirty seconds sir."

The thirty seconds passed like an eternity, but when it was over, Andromeda did its thing. It began hitting the bank system, smashing into the defenses' with massive power, trying every method to break in. In the places where it did get in, it hit the accounts, draining them of all the money and then tracking the accounts to any overseas accounts which were then also hit. The money wasn't stolen. It was simply destroyed, all those 1s and 0s that represented electronic wealth turning to just 0s. Hundreds of billions, even trillions of dollars simply vanished, deleted off the face of the earth. It continued to wreck havoc with public servers, but in the private and corporate servers, it did even more. After draining banks of their money, it attacked corporate file servers, deleting massive amounts of data. It was running wild.

Meanwhile, a message came out of the UWS.

The economy instantly dropped. Any computers that could be saved were, and all banks were closed and shut down. Martial law was put in place more and more as riots, panic, and chaos swept through the nation. It was assumed as a terrorist attack from Greethah and troops that weren't busy in the cities and military bases were sent to the Alexlantian-Greethahn border, with all jets and missiles on manual standby. Communication was down and busy being set back in place. Chaos was everywhere and the value of the Magic Shell, once very high, plummeted by at least 200%. Money was not accepted in stores and the country was reduced to rationing things out.

The UWS troops in the country did their best to maintain order, helping the Alexlantians and surrounding the royal palace to defend it. Meanwhile, Andromeda moved into stage three. It began hitting criminal databases, wiping records, everything until there was, for all intents and purposes, no criminals, or at least no evidence against them, in Alexlantis. The virus then struck social security databases, pension accounts, all of those things, wiping their databases or trying to. A few probes began looking for cracks in the military databases, but no major attacks were made yet. The other government run data-bases; electronic medical records, social security, 401k's, all of that, were all attacked viciously. In the UWS, the servers were on full alert, trying to find the source of the virus and how to destroy it.

OOC: All the computers were unplugged and on lock down, so that didn't happen. Other than that, though, you're spot on.

IC: The riots continued, but were mostly subdued. Panic and paranoia escalated, with some people driven so far into madness that they committed suicide. Money was worth nothing at this point. Some burned and disposed of it, while others tried to gather and store as much of it as they could in hopes of it being of use soon. The Communists had a field day, welcoming in people to their communes with open arms. Many people started to believe that the Communists had taken part in the matter, but it was pretty much agreed upon that Greethah was involved.

The virus continued to wreck havoc, doing some hit-and-run attacks on whatever was left plugged in. The electric system and water utilities came next, the virus shutting these down as best as they could. The virus continued to grow in power, running out of control.

[Alexlantis]

All electrical items were shut down as soon as possible, but most of the minor things were affected. Everything went on manual and small, DC generators were put in place in important places. Everything electric not on it's own generator was shut down, and everything electronic was also shut down, whether or not it had a generator. Some people believed it was the end of the modern world, or at least Alexlantis, and protested saying either that various things Alexlantis had done had gone against the will of God or that Greethah was attacking and an invasion was imminent. Some pointed the blame at the genetically modified soldiers, others at the Communists. Some even came to believe that the aliens were wiping out civilization to enslave humans, one nation at a time. Chaos, paranoia, and rage grew minute by minute.

The virus then went on to its final objective and began attempting to find any passages into the military networks, which its designers had assumed would have to stay connected somehow if they were to be of any use.

The virus had finally been detected, and the military blocked the virus out with a series of firewalls, codes, and anti-bot procedures. This included warped text after warped text, making it impossible for any non-human to get through. With a human, it would take 48 hours. The virus was already being traced at this point, while a slightly different series of the same exterior blocks was being set in place so as to deter the virus for an even longer period of time.

The virus morphed, adapted attempting to overcome the security procedures. When it couldn't it just started exploded out of control, using its energy reserves to ruin ever last computer, dataphase, or system left connected.

Fortunately, anything left connected had already been ruined. Most of the things had been unconnected and unplugged by this point. The damage was done, with no databases left but the extremely vital. Everything left was either in lock down, stored on paper, or both. Many people considered this a return to the Dark Ages or the end of the modern world.

The next day, the virus had run out of energy. It slowly just died off by itself, leaving the damage it had done behind. It had destroyed everything it could. In a theoretical sense, the dust had settled.

IC: The Alexlantian government was hard at work. Half of the government was rebuilding the Internet network, and the other half was attempting to trace the virus back to it's source.
