My main troops are somewhat along the same lines as yours, although they'd mostly be the pre-rebellion (endwar) type forever...

This could be an interesting plot-point for an RP, I say. Not exactly sure how to explain it, tho.

My troops are intended to be like a more 'modernised' Imperial Guard, with a structure and tactics similar to the Japanese Imperial Army in WW2. Uniforms-wise, I believe they would use either Cadian Shocktroopers armour and uniforms (but without the ugly helmets) or modified-to-look-cooler JSDF uniforms with flak jackets for the time being. Of course, that's just what the basic soldiers would look like, not tanks and such, so we won't be very similar after all.

Well, for starters, the similarities in armor design could say something about the pasts of both our empires, liek, say, the fact that they obv. originated from Earth.

But I suppose the differences in vehicles and stuff would show how they're different.

Due to the nature of the Palankut, each clique has its own unique set of armor. Typical armor for the Sar'dakur (since they're the largest and most "influential," I'll be focusing more on them then the other 13) ranges from this for Fire Maidens to more... revealing armor, such as this for specialized close combat groups like the "Demons of the Shadows"

Hunzoi armour reflects their ramshackle nature. It largely varies from warrior to warrior. Here are some more common examples, however.

Shollogian ground troops have an artificial shell surrounding their gas bladders, though it's not very strong. The rest of their body is covered in some fabric materials but other than that they don't have much protection. Regular clothing for shollogs usually consist of cloth drapings like a poncho.

Will be interesting to see the interaction with mine considering my ambassador was trying to conspire for power and as punishment was forced to watch her significant other killed, behead her two children herself, and then had to eat one of them. For extra funsies she was a priestess of Maersa (Molag Bal rip) and will be covered in piercings and tattoos, she'll also be dressed in something like so.
